Reviews of Bridge to Nowhere Lodge, Tours and Campground
Great trip. Fun jet boat ride through beautiful scenery with a easy walk at the end to the bridge. Tea, coffee & biscuits provided by host and you are welcome to take a picnic. All in all a great day out for all ages!
Historic landmark that is is located in the middle of... nowhere! :D The walk from the river is a short 40min one way not too steep with several toilets on the way. The history behind it is pretty captivating. Worth also the stop to feed eels down the river under the bridge. There are two ways to see the bridge: the main one where you walk on it and the second is a lookout view (drone/aerial viewpoint)!
Third time doing this hike and it is still beautiful. Would have loved to do the kayaking back option. Jet boat was awesome when the guide did spins. Beautiful, isolated, remote location, one off experience.
What an amazing and sad history of the area. Some wonderfull stories too. Its like stepping into another world. Our country is really an amazing place to explore and this would be one I would highly recommend and would love to one day bring my family to experience it.
Bridge to nowhere is a great spot and something good to do when in the Wanganui river, as it allows you to see the mighty Wanganui River. Enjoyed the expirence, jet boat ride could of been more action packed however does some great 360's and the views are like no other. The walk is very nice and easy, and the history is interesting. Canoing back down the river is good, team work is required. Overall a very good expirence and increadbile views and good service ✔
We went there with the Whanganui River Adventures tour. A MUST see for every traveler. Amazing history told by Ted our guide from Whanganui River Adventures made it even more real.
Beautiful destination but getting there and back is part of the fun
Wonderful experience. Half our group biked to the Bridge to Nowhere and half of us went by jet boat then walked in to the Bridge. We all stayed at the Bridge to Nowhere Lodge and all canoed down the river the next day. Couldn't fault a thing... great staff, great service and great fun.
Our guide, Jonathan, was full of good advice for our canoe trip and had excellent knowledge of the history of the area. Joe, Mandy, Sally and Daryl provided excellent service at the Lodge. We had fabulous meals and lots of fun. This is a must do trip. Thank you all 😊
One of the best bike trails in New Zealand. After a 5km climb it was mostly downhill from there. It can get very muddy after rain and hard to ride. Other than this I highly recommend this trail to the bridge to nowhere
Wonderful experience with small hike and jet boating.
