Very creative people, well set up maze, you can tell a lot of planning and creativity went into it ! Fairly priced, you definitely get what you pay for. I'm a big horror fan and it was everything I wanted. I was genuinely terrified and had a lot of fun. My compliments to the actors, did such an incredible job of terrifying me,creating an atmosphere and an experience. I will be back, I highly recommend this to any fan of horror or someone who wants to test themselves. You will NOT be disappointed

Fantastic! The experience begins walking up those stairs! Everyone came out with the biggest smiles and stories one even with a bruise after tripping over her own feet haha! Such a shame about the covid red light carry on as there was very little interaction with ghosts, ghouls and what have you. Fun experience over all

My wife and I were in Queenstown for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we were walking around looking for something to do and stumbled across this place, at first we thought it would be lame and maybe we might get a little scare or two but it turned out that it was really well put together and the actors inside the maze were fantastic! Needless to say we both throughly enjoyed it and would happily go back. Thanks so much for a great place to visit. 😁👍

Awesome place and a good scare... the wife really got into it and had a full blown scared to the bone panic attack and had to quit, staff could see she was visibly upset and grabbed her some water... we laugh about now but she wasn't at the time, lol...

This honestly deserves MUCH more than 5 stars, I had a great and spooky time here at fear factory it really deserves the name "Fear factory" as it produced fear inside my body. This was my favorite place to visit in queenstown, definitely in the TOP 10 where to go in queenstown. They said to keep your hands out in front of you if your in the front but I just couldn't, I had to cover my face with my hands. I am so proud of myself for not "Chickening" out that honestly would have been a shame! Horror movies are scarier enough but this was a whole new level, you defenetly get more than what you paid for. I loved the friendly staff, and just loved how the actors created a whole different environment It was so real that i couldn't believe they were actors! Tysm fear factory for a great experience!

Wow, what a unique experience. I went in dubious about how they would manage to scare us when we were aware that we were trying to be scared, but it was extremely effective. Even my boyfriend got scared, which I have never seen before so that's really saying something. Truly excellent. I will not be going back because I got so scared, so consider that to be a testament to the skill of the actors and staff.

My children didn't even get past the entry door... This is fear at its peak. They know how to get your anxiety up and get you by surprise. Just when you think you know what to expect they'll get you by surprise. This is a must do activity in Queenstown and one for the family... If they can handle it... *grinz*

Terrifying! I went with a friend and we were both scared to death. So much fun and it was well priced! Completely pitch black so you can't see or hear anything. You'll get the shivers when you reach to feel for a wall and touch skin 😱

Easily one of the worst and best attractions I’ve been too (purely because I was so scared). Very atmospheric, scary and entertaining. Everyone in my group was well scared and had a really cool experience to talk about for a long time after! The lady on the front desk was very fun and friendly!

Wow what an amazing experience we had a party of 6 which was 3 adults and 3 kids aged 8, 9 and 13 and we all enjoyed the experience. Enough to make you jump, scream and have a really good time. The kids loved it, but would recommend going as a group to make it that much more fun.

Such an awesome time. Second time we have been and will visit each time we are down. Each time is different and unique. The team put in alot of effort and hard work to ensure you are 100% engaged and immersed in the experience. Totally worth it. Great way to get warmed up too in the winter 🤣

Before going into the maze I thought I was a very brave person. I WAS WRONG. Absolutely loved the experience though I did hide behind my partner muttering 'it is over?' Definitely would recommend if you're looking for a scare. (The suspense will really get you). Loved the staff too, they were so nice and welcoming. We went about three hours ago and I haven't stopped talking about it. I'll be back for another scare next time!

So good!! I went through with my 11 year old step daughter and we loved it! My partner and his son went through after us (we have a 7yr old who didn’t want to go hence the pairs) and they loved it too! I loved hearing them scream through the walls. Haha. Was great value for money. I haven’t screamed and laughed like that for so long! Will definitely do it again next time we’re in the area.

Amazing staff greeted us as we entered and gave a quick informative brief. I sat waiting for the dreaded green light and entered through the red door. And from here on the fun began. My partner who usually avoids these experiences decided to lead us into the darkness. The yelling battle started from get go with every one of us spooked and yelled many times. A very well designed establishment designed to make chicken of most. Thankfully we didn't make the chicken list. Close. Very close. We will surely return to go through this again.

Not bad value for money in general but great value if you can get it at a discount on bookme. The experience was longer then expected and the actors and set up was brilliant with them appearing and disappearing right in front of you. My partner was screaming and crying from start to end, so if that what your after i highly recommend.

My Husband and I decided to give this place a go and I can tell you we wern't disappointed. The staff are friendly and funny. The place is we set up to scare the living daylights out of you. I won't say what happened and how things work as it will spoil the fun. It's well worth the money so go try it for yourself.

If you're looking for an activity to fill in time which is not overly expensive, this is the one you want to do. Would recommend it for kids over 12 years and good to do in groups. Maximum of 5 per group and worth booking especially during school holidays. Its hilarious so just come with a good attitude to have fun.

Really fun. The jump scares even made my boyfriend scared, although he was laughing through most of it. And I definitely couldn't have done it by myself. I hope the two young girls that chickened out before even going in made it through eventually. Also you're only going to fall over a lot if you've been drinking - go in with a clear head and let your nerves get to you.

Went here yesterday with my nephew and my gosh was it scary!! I literally screamed the whole time so my poor nephew who was in front, ears were getting sore lol. We did lose sight of the red laser at one point and was bumping into dead end corners until one of the actors whispered "this way" hahaha Was definitely a adrenaline rush of fear and anxiety for me hahaha Not sure if my nephew would want to go to another scary attraction with me again though, seeing I screamed his ears off 😄 Thanks alot to all the staff was a terrifying experience. We absolutely loved the Fear Factory and the experience. We screamed and we laughed. The staff there do an amazing job. My only thing is the cost of the photos and videos. I know you have to make money, but $20 for 4 photos and an extra $10 if you want the video. I think you need to be more specific about the length of the video. We were expecting the full video from start to finish, but we only got 30 seconds. That is so misleading. $10 for 30 seconds, seems a bit harsh. Fear Factory is definitely a must when you are in Queenstown.

This place is absolutely amazing and the staff are even better. I've never been that afraid in my life, but the adrenaline rush just kept me coming back! I ended up going four times solo during the week, and the staff went above and beyond to add more and more scary surprises every time I went in. Was a very nice horror house! We came there with a group of three people and had a waiting time of half an hour, perfect to go to the lake and have a look around the town. We were told that 10-15% "chicken out" but we weren't very scared (but you have to say, we are quite fearless in regards to the dark) but all actors were quite professional and we had lots of fun!

This is fun if you are going through with your kids and laugh at their reactions to fear. I laughed throughout the entire experience because of it. If you're like me and don't get afraid easily, I wouldn't recommend it because I wasn't frightened once. But I was in a ground of 4 and they were frightened quite a bit (2 teenagers scared often and the 1 adult maybe scared twice). The staff does try to scare you. Pretty fun overall but it is a 10 to 15ish, minute experience.

Was way to dark. My girlfriend hurt herself. There was a time when we lost the red light and did not know where to go one of the actors guided saying "this way, this way" in his ghostly voice 😂. Staff and actors were really good. But the experience was not but I was expecting.

Went there with my 56 year old mumma, so it definitely isn't just for the younger generation! People were grabbing her from the back and me from the front, such a great experience and with the darkness you never know what's lurking around the corner. I wasn't sure on what to expect due to all the hype about the place. For me personally I didn't find it scary though my wife did and she had a great time. The staff there / actors were great and did their best to scare us both start to finish. It's worth a visit if your into that kind of thing... My only advise to Fear Factory would be don't tell people what to expect. If you know it's coming you're prepared and it loses the affect.

Great experience. Unlike other haunted houses, this really makes you nervous and scared. Most of the things that scare you inside are acted by real people. One downside is that at some point we smelled some strong body odor from probably an acting staff and that actually turned things off a little. We started feel like ‘yea they are just staff, not real’ lol. It helped in a way since it toned down the scariness (we were really nervous) but in a way it wasn’t pleasant.

Fear Factory is a haunted house on Shotover Street – an area that is quite well-known for its thrill-seeking activities. This one is quite different from your usual jet boats and kayaks though: along with being a relatively new addition, Fear Factory’s appeal lies in its dark hallways and spine-tingling spooks. This is an activity best enjoyed in groups, and is not suitable for kids under the age of 15 (the haunted house claims that more than 12,000 people have ‘chickened out’ from the experience – that should be enough of an indicator of their scare levels).

What a great half hour activity in the heart of Queenstown. I went with my Dad and his partner, and we had everything from screams, laughter, and an accidental headbutt before leaving the Fear Factory absolutely sweating! It's definitely the most intense haunted house experience I've ever done, and the cast were excellent at picking up on fear and names while we were shuffling round. Top marks!

I've been to many haunted houses, Chicago, London, Niagara and a few other places. They all use visual to scare you as there is usually just enough light for you to find your way. Fear factory is a little different. It plays into the fear of the dark and the unknown. To find your way, you must feel around. This cause the uneasy feeling as you anticipate for something to happen but not knowing when. This anticipation is what makes this haunted house so enjoyable.

IT SO MUCH FUN!!! We arrived and a guy had just chickened out with tears in his eyes so we didn't know whether to continue walking in or turn a round and exit lol! First off I HATE scary things. I was dragged here with my friends against my own will. However, I must say that it was quite an experience. The front desk staff was super friendly and made it seem like they were genuinely interested in you having a good time. They have an option for you to chicken out if you get too scared in the maze (but you have to do so as a group) and my friends refused to give up. The haunted house is completely dark and there are constantly people popping out at you and being super creepy. I think I screemed for at least 15 minutes straight and I definitely squeezed my friend in front of me wayyy too tight. DEFINITELY A MUST for people visiting. As someone who hates scary stuff it was surprisingly fun.

My friends picked up a voucher and came back to the hotel and asked me to go with them, I am quite a jumpy person but decided to go if allowed in groups. The three of us got there I was in the middle, entered the haunted house and damn I was scared the all the way to the end wondering what monster s gonna jump at us next. My friends weren't scared as much, but I had a really good time and I d say go alone for the best experience. On the minus the costumes were not scary as I expected. I thought the monster figures will register in my brain and have nightmares, but I didn't. It can be a plus to some. You decide!

Visited yesterday with my children (27 & 30) My daughter has already done it and was too scared to do it again. So this time my son and I thought we would give it a whirl. Staff were awesome, so friendly and welcoming. We was advised of all the do's & don'ts :) Both of us were determined not to call 'chicken' as we waited to be sent into the Fear Factory. Ok.. well I decided to do this with my 13 year old daughter and 9 year old son. They say it's a 30 min experience plus 5 minutes to dry your pants at the end... well.. for me.. it was a 5 minute experience and 30 mins for my pants to dry out!!! I had to convince my 2 kids to "chicken out". There is just no escaping this horrendous place. You cant even escape by closing your eyes! Unfortunately for my kids once one person chickens out, it's all over for the rest of your group. Thankfully my kids have been good about it!! One thing that made me feel better is that we were the 16th group that day to chicken out!!!

I didnt last 5 minutes before locking in place with my back against a wall and not moving for a long while. I experienced the truest form of fear and froze. This is great for people who want a scare and fun in groups. Infact, I would say it is a great family activity as well (as long as your children are above 13 years old and/or are not easily scared). The have a bit of everything to scare you. I guarantee no matter who you are, you will scream no matter what. I do recommended people do this if they are in Queentown. Being in the city centre, parking can be difficult. And booking is essential.

They ask you what your fears are before you go into the house and recommend that you leave your jackets in one of their bins for safe keeping, since during your adrenaline spikes like crazy.
