We enjoyed our experience here! The allocated time for each group is more than enough, as you really DO get cold. Drinks were nice and strong (but a bit pricey) and sculptures are a work of art. The overall atmosphere is fun as well, the light changes every few seconds and music is playing which gives it a party vibe while you‘re in there. Awesome little touch is when you get to smash your ice cup at the end! Wish the room itself was a little bigger with more sculptures.

Truly the closest thing to Scott's Base. Nice drinks, beautiful sculptures. Works of art in ice. It may be freezing cold, but the team's smiles and friendliness keeps you warm. (By the way, I asked for their strongest mocktail).

We absolutely loved the experience and would do it all over again AND AGAIN if we could. Only downside (if you could call it that) is that they are based in Queenstown and I’m in Auckland, so means that I need to go down to experience the atmosphere that the team create. There are a few ice bars there, but it’s the Minus 5 crew that made it all the more special.

Superb experience not to be missed! Great value for money. The ice sculptures are life size, carved with so much accuracy. Even the tables, chairs and the glass you drink from, is made of ice!! Something out of the ordinary!!! Special mention has to be made of the Bartender: she was so friendly, warm and was the perfect Host! Highly recommend visiting this place.

Worth trying! I went there during summer so it’s definitely a challenge for me to go in with shorts lol. The good thing was they provided us jackets and they were warm enough for me to stay in there for half an hour. For people who wants to visit Minus 5 degrees, I’ll recommend you book earlier. I went there and needed to wait 1.5 hrs to get in as there are limited numbers of people that can go in each hour.

Beautiful ice sculptures and lighting and the fact they use good quality spirits and liquors just makes it perfect. Gotta give a special shout out to our bar tender Dean. So much fun for families! We absolutely love the minus 5° ice bar. Only suggestion is that printing the photos before people decide to purchase seems wasteful, would be better to show digitally first as most places do. We LOVED the amazing staff at minus 5°, SO FRIENDLY :)

A true Queenstown experience. Jackets and gloves are provided. My wife was offered ugg boots as well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Inside isn’t all that big. But it’s definitely an experience to see everything made of ice. Good range of cocktails and mocktails mixed up by the barkeep in ice cups right in front of you. Originally booked for a 1 hour session but only managed to stay about 20 minutes before it became too cold for my liking. Took my 1.5 year old as well without any drama.

Way too cold which i know sounds obvious but the gloves and jacket they provided were extremely thin for how cold it was I could barely last 15 minutes in there. Kind of cool in level 2. Was just me and the Mrs with the bartender. Only get a 30min time slot but that's enough. Get your own music put over the speakers and sink some cocktails. Dress warm cos although it's called -5°, it was actually -8°C 😱 recommended

Amazing experience! Really great value drinks available inside, bartender was great as well! Cups made of ice, sculptures, tables, floor! Ice everywhere so don't be stupid, bring gloves and a hat (thick socks are worth it too!)

Fun place to hang out and have cocktails. You have an hour allotment where you can nip out and warm up, and then head back. End of your shift, you get to therapeutically smash your 'glass'. Definately worth a visit.

Lots of fun but a bit overpriced. Cool ice sculptures and some fancy Cocktails (they have non-alcoholic cocktails also available called mocktails) it’s a fairly small room and you’ll have a smile on your face till you either get cold or the novelty wears off.

Bartender was really friendly... From cocktail glasses to chairs and tables,everything is made of ice. Warm jackets and warm shoes are provided, no worries about carrying your own jackets. What a fun and good experience. You are given a jacket and gloves on arrival. We opted for a 2 alcohol drink package. The bar was fun and has a heap of cool ice sculptures that alternate regularly. The drinks are strong and served in an ice glass, very nice. The bar staff on the day we went was friendly and fun, we ended up ordering another drink in our allotted time. Good place to kill bit of time. It's little small inside but worth going in. Had to change my son's jacket inside as he was wearing 3 quarter pants but staffs were good to get him a longer jacket. Staffs helpful in taking photos.

This was on my TUIT list and when I arrived late afternoon without booking Dean was wonderful. What a great guy bursting with energy and excitement to show me one of Queenstown hotspots. The walls,bar,furniture all ice even glasses and at -9 I didn’t feel that chill until I took gloves off. Cocktails alcohol and non alcohol , families are welcome. Been to Minus 5 ice bar earlier this year, when covid restrictions didnt require masks, the bar was fully booked and we went in, had our cocktails, enjoyed and left... went again 6 months later...covid restrictions meant no mixing of bubbles... it was amazing having the whole bar to your own bubble and listening to your own playlist... LOVED IT!!!

Kinda cool, the cocktails included are nothing special but the ice room itself is very cool, and how often do you do that? Seemed smaller inside than i was expecting. Dont be a fool and wear shorts - they do have jackets but if you dont have long pants or shoes expect to get REAL cold REAL quick and want to leave after ten minutes

Such a cool place to visit, and the prices were great for the experience and for the drinks you can buy. They provide jackets and gloves for warmth, but make sure you still wear something warm underneath if you are not used to cold weather (like me). The ice sculptures were very fun, and the drinks tasted pretty good too! They even have non alcoholic drinks, so I recommend bringing kids for an awesome experience.

A really cool experience. You are given jackets, cap, gloves etc and taken into the ice room. Everything is ice including the cups which you put into an ice rubbish bin once finished. Real cold in there so you probably only want to stay 10-20 mins tops.

Must try atleast once as its a pretty COOL experience. The cocktails were pretty nice as well and feels amazing to drink from a ice glass. They provide adequate jacket / gloves so you don't have to worry about carrying your winter wear for the minus 10 degree temperature. The ice sculptures are also very spectacular and you can also sit on ice stools. Highly recommend.

It’s a different experience. Everything made of ice, even the glass that you get drinks in . Not very big as in at a time 10-15 people. It’s a 30 minute bar trip sort of an arrangement for the group every half an hour. The temperature ranges from minus 5 to minus 8 , they provide jackets before you enter.

Great fun. An absolute MUST DO experience. However, be aware of the cold... I would highly recommend carrying your own SNOW GLOVES to ensure comfort. Please note.... the gloves provided are ridiculous gardening gloves. Please carry your own. Great cocktails too !

Best ice bar in town!!! Best carvings, Best atmosphere and by far the best staff - those guys made it an awesome experience. They were friendly, accommodating and hilarious. I highly recommend this experience and if you are just going to do one of tge ice bars I would make it this one. The other one was bigger with less sculptures, some of which were broken and the staff were not very helpful.

Brilliant. I love the cold, and the ice bar room sits at around -6.7°. you are provided with gloves, jacket, booties, and a hat if you need it. The ice sculptures are pretty cool. There's an ice couch and stools.. cocktails and mocktails are nice, served in an ice glass, and reasonably priced. All the staff were lovely and friendly and helpful.

A great experience! Smaller than expected but nonetheless was lovely! Polar pear cocktail was the favourite. Not sure how long the sessions are but we were ready to head out after 45 mins, worth a visit if you're stopping into town.

Went for the first time this weekend. The staff are super lovely - we were offered jackets and gloves straight away and with a smile. The bartender was nice enough and took photos on our phones for us inside the bar. The ice bar is reasonably small - we went at 6pm on a Saturday (in December) and only had two other groups with us. I could see how the experience may be less enjoyable with a larger crowd. Be aware that you're unlikely to spend more than 30-35 minutes in the bar as the cold becomes a bit much after that. The cocktails are nice enough, wouldn't pay for more than one - but they do come in an glass made out of ice, which adds to the experience! Overall, a must do at least once!

Took my boys to Minus5 Ice Bar, and had a cool time (no pun intended) in there. The kids mocktails were well enjoyed and the adults cocktails were just as good. There's some great ice sculptures. Recommend doing when in Queenstown.

Quite a different feeling as we are from India. It has options of only entry entry + mocktail or entry + cocktail. We took entry + cocktail for two of us and it cost us 50 NZD as we took 10 NZD off coupon from YHA Queenstown. It's a small room with around 10 ice sculptures which they keep changing every three months. Not a big place.

You go in with a group of people and stay in for a hour (if you can handle the chill) Very cold obviously but they supply you with jackets and gloves ❄😀 We had a awesome time and their drinks 🍸 are delicious! They have a good variety of music pumping too from meg the stallion to saweetie, beyonce and old school aswell (can't remember cause we got quite tipsy lol) Also cool talking to the others in your group and having a drink with them if you want. Drinks are about $15 after you finish the ones you pre paid for but they are nice. A lot of people get cold fast and leave within the first 20 mins but we vibed out to the music and made the most of it! Beautiful ice carvings as well and the bartender chick was very friendly 🙂

It was smaller than I expected and the drinks were a bit watered down. Still, it’s a super cool experience all up. They give you a warm jacket and gloves and you get to drink out of cups made of ice and sit on ice sculptures! Keep in mind the sessions run on specific times I’d recommend you call them and book before coming in. We stayed for around 40 minutes, most people we found didn’t stay much longer since it was so cold haha. Definitely a fun thing to do at the end of a day filled with adventure!

Note that finding parking can be difficult in queenstown as most in the surrounding area are 15 minutes only parking. There are 30 minute ones and a wilsons car park abit further away. Jackets and gloves are supplied. The staff were lovely. The bartender who i didnt catch her name was very friendly and an awesome young lady. Thank you for being an outstanding bartender especially as it was my broz 30th she was great! This ice bar is a bit on the small side. But the experience of the cold and ice sculptures especially for the children are worth coming for a visit. Sessions are approx 1 hour. Bookings essential. We had fun and had a good time.

The Minus 5 Ice Bar is one of Queenstowns best place to visit and have the experience of the drinks that are available for adults and childen, also the sculptures are incredible. The staff are so friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend to everyone to pay a visit

What to expect: When we got here it wasn't busy with just us and another family. We came on a Christmas promotion day so they had cheap entry and also meeting with Santa option. We got dressed in walm clothes and taken to the ice bar. It's quite small but still a unique experience even if you don't drink alcohol. Got some good shots from this place. Price: We got lucky and arrived on the Christmas promo day whereby we got a great deal on entry. Cons: Only con was that we were told to leave after 10min (politely) as the next family was waiting. But no reason for complaint as we got a great deal on tickets and got good pictures. Overall recommend it for families!

If you already live in a cold climate, an ice bar may not impress. It was -7C (19F), which happened to be warmer than my home city today. The sculptures are impressive. The room is cold, and you must wear gloves, or the ice glass will stick to you. Drinks are good and slushy. Staff are great. 22 min is average time people spend inside. An interesting and fun thing to do. I just wonder about the value of fire sprinklers :)

Wonderful and superb experience. For Asian people like me, it is a must experience. Drinking in minus 5 was fun. A bit overcrowded but I guess that helps keep the room a bit warmer. It's the smaller of the 2 in Queenstown but it's the better by far. The ice glasses your cocktails are served in are much thicker and don't melt when you take a sip of them like the other ice bar ones do. The cocktail choices are larger and they even do shots here. Alexia the bartender was friendly and helpful. Also cleaned the floor repeatedly when we were there. The other ice bar you stick to floor as they don't bother to clean much.

Well run with a good selection of tasty drinks. You have to book a slot in advance as to go in with a group on a 30 minute slot. Longer than that you'd be too cold. You buy drinks in advance with your ticket. 30 mins is definitely time for 2 as you have nothing else to do really and the second one is only 6 dollars. You need ID as they insist on a passport. Lots of parkas, gloves and even uggs available so don't feel you have to dress specifically for this. It is however quite small and there is not enough seating for everyone in the group so you are quite jammed in.
