v.Absolutely awesome place!
Currently a special of $50 (reduced from $80) for unguided walk, boat and bus.
So much to explore.
The walk was approximately 5.5km to the boat. It does say 4 but we did some extra bits.
Good paths but wear good shoes. Plenty of picnic areas too and there is a cafe.
If hot wear a hat and plenty of sunscreen as lots of uncovered parts.
R.We went on the Rotomahana boat cruise. It's a lovely, peaceful cruise. Really lovely people. Just make sure you go to the toilet before going down on the bus. Didn't get to eat at the Cafe because we had another appointment but we will try it next time.
K.Great walking around the path at Waimanga Valley, reading the information and seeing the amazing sites. The boat cruise was great too, with the guide providing a lot of interesting history. Definitely recommend!

J.Awesome half day trip. Special rate on at the moment. Get close to some hot springs. Finish with boat trip on Lake Rotomahana with views of Mt Tarawera
A.One of the best walk! You get to see the volcanic lakes and all the beautiful streams to the lake, really enjoying nature and great exercise at the same time! Please check the weather before you decide to go and better use hiking shoes so you have the chance to explore more.
F.A wonderful day out and definitely make sure you take the boat ride, it’s a highlight. It’s a lovely walk (mostly) down to the lake with an informative self guide brochure pointing out the highlights.
J.It’s hot place, a lot of walking, some routes really disappointing, can be shorter. Otherwise beautiful nature
j.Good for One time visit , hot pan lake and inferno crate are the only attractions. wai tapu thermal valley still my favourite
