So much fun, great relaxed friendly staff.... went for just 15 balls! Then 100 balls later!! Haha well worth a crack!

We had have so much fun. It's also funny to watch other people try to do.

If you manage to somehow get the golf ball into the hole, you will get 10,000 NZD. Easy money, only if Taupo isn't that windy😉😏

Bloke was a bit stroppy, as I preferred to use a hybrid wood rather than an iron. Told me Only ladies are allowed to use them, lol. I used one anyway. But, why the drama.??

Good fun had by our group. Pretty hard to get the ball into the tee out in the lake.

This is a fun activity to watch even if you are not a golfer. Two members of our family had a go and did pretty well wining an extra 12 balls because they hit the pontoon (bonus ball if you hit it). It is very challenging especially with the breeze moving the pontoon slightly. Great fun and an extroidnary view across Lake Taupo.

It was really fun to hit some golf balls into the lake. Price was reasonable. We were a group of 5 people and bought 50 balls for 40$. You can even buy individual balls for 1 or 2 dollars. We could share the bucket of balls among the group and have fun. There were about 6 pads so that 6 people could play simultaneously. If you are lucky, in a very rare case, you win 10,000$ by hitting the hole in one. (Only 7 people has won so far during the last 23 years or so)

The weather was perfect and it was a bit of silly fun that I just thoroughly enjoyed. A lot of public cheering you on and I surprised myself at how close I got. Not being any good at golf didn't matter it was just a great laugh. Do it side by side with a friend and share a basket of 30 balls. Don't expect to win anything but enjoy the moment. 😊

We didn't play, but we watched hopeful golfers trying to score a hole-in-one from an elevated land advantage to an in-lake pontoon. A bit of fun... and interesting to watch style and hopefulness 🙃

Fun concept, but it is a lie. They proudly mention they average a winner every 2 weeks, but looking online there was a winner in 2018, and the previous winner in 2015. Regardless, it's still fun to hit golf balls into the lake guilt free (as they dive to get them back). $1.50 for 1 ball is definitely worth it.

We had an awesome time walking around Lake Taupo. Beautiful scenery and you can choose your pace. It can be a relaxing stroll or you can get a good workout. 🚶‍♀️🏃‍♀️

So much fun!! I have no idea how to hit a hold ball and after 20 balls I managed to hit the pontoon once! 😊 I'm going to have a go every time I come to Taupo!

Really nice set up, can be quite addictive though and it's not too different in price to a driving range. Didn't win the prize, but hit the pontoon four times and the shots weren't too far away. Would be good to have a camera situated over the pontoon showing the holes

A fun place to spend some quality time at. A very difficult challenge. But worthwhile challenge nonetheless. Situated in the center of Taupo in a very convenient location looking out over the lake. It's looks out over a remarkable lake. Always very busy and a top spot for tourists.

Always enjoy my stay here. Friendly respectful service. Warm super clean tranquil and private after constant travels. Recommend highly to colleagues and friends. My favourite place to rest whilst travelling through Bay of Plenty.

We had great time trying to hit the pontoon and get the ball in 1of the 3 holes. It was a sensational morning clear blue skies and sunshine. The staff were friendly and great. Had lots of laughs. Highly recommended.

Bit expensive but did get 5 of the balls hit or land on the platform out of 15. Do get a extra ball tho everytime you hit or land on. Left happy and love the natural elements you against and the views

My partner absolutely Loves this attraction! The win is very tempting! It’s a must every time we are in Taupo. Tons of clubs to choose from and if your ball hits the pontoon without a team member noticing they honour your word.

It's fun to hit balls but you know going in it's an expensive bucket of practice balls. Still fun. The hole in one is set on a mound so good luck. Take into account the wind and your shots vary quite a bit. Again it's fun hitting a few balls and trying your luck.

The whole hole in one thing is a little overrated, but it is very fun and the kids would love it. The area has a great atmosphere, and on a nice day in the summer there's nothing better than driving a golf ball out into the lake with the backdrop of the mountains on the other side.

It's fun, but you'll have no clue if you actually hit a hole in one. Also, the target is placed well farther than their SW will hit, and well shorter than their PW will hit. I was taking half swings with the pitching and still sending it beyond the target. There are worse ways to blow $20 however.

For $25, you get to hit 25 balls. And the pontoon doesn't move around. It's just really windy. Seems legit. Everytime you hit the pontoon, you get a free ball. They average a hole in one every few weeks but there are three holes. People only get the grand prize once or twice in a whole year. For someone who plays golf, I found this quite enjoyable and an interesting challenge for my skills. Great way to spend 30 minutes if you got $25 lying around. Just make sure you can hit 100 metres with a sand wedge. Everything else will bounce off I reckon.

A little destination in Taupo for 10 minutes of fun. Minor grips is that it's quite expensive compared to normal driving ranges. Also there's only a handful of tee platforms, I would like to see more in the future. Despite these minor issue it's a really cool experience, that everyone should do at least once.

Great place and always a popular visit in Taupo. Would like to understand how they validate a 'hole-in-one' and quantify how they have had 992 holes in one... they didn't even have time or ability to check that my ball hit the raft... clearly focus is on the revenue! But will still go back there 😊

It is what is is. Seems impossible, pretty much is. Had good bants with the golf ball diver. Felt neglected and uninspired by the dude running the show. Would have been nice to have received some handy hitting tips. Still, a good activity to do with a friend when you want to take the piss out them. Had a good laugh.

Quick n easy way to drown golf bells!

A bit of a different fun activity for those visiting Taupo. Found near the entrance to Taupo, the target green floats on a pontoon in the magnificent Lake Taupo, with vìews of Mt Ruapehu in the background. While the chances of hitting the green are reasonably high for any golfer (it's fun to compete with your mates to see who can achieve this the most often), a hole in one is nearly impossible. There are, however, prizes if you do manage it. It is quite expensive, you don't get many attempts unless you are prepared to pay for it. But overall the prices are fairly typical of any tourist activity in Taupo. Worth a go at least one time when you visit Taupo.

So much fun trying to nail the green out in the lake. A bit expensive as its $20 for 25 balls though. A driving range would be far cheaper, but thats the price you pay for trying to win $10k for a hole in one

Lots of fun !!! Good value and you have to at least do it once, about $25 a bucket of balls an everytime you hit the pontoon, you get a free ball :) or if you get a hole on one ...you get $1000 TEMPTING YES .

Great idea, but not like a normal green. You must slam dunk your shot to win. And the hole is a little smaller then a normal hole

Guys had a blast so much so they did 2 x 30ball buckets. Definitely recommend and will go back again.

I am not a golfing fan. But seeing people trying to hit the platform in the lake was quite a challenge, the ten minutes I was there only one got within 10m of it. I felt sorry for the diver who was asked to fetch them back. Not easy I can tell you and just wonder how littered the lake bed still is with the balls.

Got a hole in one here. We then checked through the binoculars and there was a ball in the hole however I was told it was from the night before 😂. Either way great fun.

Would always make a stop here to hit out some balls before continuing my drive, however arrived at 10:30am during weekday and it was closed. There was a few others there waiting too.

You are given a bucket of golf ball and you try to pot it the hole made inside lake taupo. Its a fun activity of 10-15 mins.you dont need to professional golf player to try this activity

Eating dinner by the lake, was far more enjoyable, than looking at raft in the middle of the lake.
