Reviews of Lava Glass - Glassblowing Studio, Sculpture Garden, Art Gallery, Café
J.
Lynden Over and artist Christine Robb, met at art school and have worked together on their creative vision to create Lava Glass. Together they work constantly striving for new innovative ways of depicting the New Zealand landscape in glass ☺
The landscapes are their inspiration, glass their canvas. Lava Glass is the first carbon-neutral certified glassblowing studio in the world 🌍
There are some amazing glass art pieces for purchase in the souvenir shop, a nice little cafe, and for a small fee you can explore the beautiful gardens with glass art installations ☕🍰
N.
A good place to visit, nice and clean. A bit more explanation about how they made the artworks would be preferred. Bought a gift for my mum, surely the glass artworks are amazing and very creative.
S.
Always stop here for a coffee & great food.
We finally got a lovely day to see the Lava glass garden.
What a treat,so colourful & amazing pieces to look at.
S.
A great stop on your road-trip. The gallery is filled with stunning pieces, but no photography is allowed. You can pay to watch glass-blowing in person, and you can also pay to visit a garden filled with glass sculptures. That what my attached photos are of.
There's also a nice little café here
D.
Some very cool pieces and the sculptures are outstanding. The food in the restaurant and service were excellent definitely worth stopping in!
d.
If you're an art lover then you need to see this place. There's a Cafe and a garden which has a fee to visit...well worth paying $10 but if you buy anything at the gift store then you can redeem it off your purchase.
S.
Stunning garden and informative session at the glassblowing studio, we had the place to ourselves today! Will definitely be back when we have more money so we can start our glass collection 🙈 one day!
R.
Loved the glass making session. The garden was so beautiful.. Awesome place to visit
C.
Amazing. Loved watching tge Gkass Blowing and the Garden walk is awesome. Totally recommend everyone should go.
H.
No any regrets having a combo👌👌👌 I saw the process of making glass vases and it is invaluable!!!)))
It is not allowed to make a pictures, but the gallery is full of impressive exhibits, soo beautiful)) and quite expensive, but after watching a process I'd understood why, and the price is obviously right. Recommend to visit the garden for sure👌
S.
Great visit, watch the glass blowing show it's worth the visit 😉the garden is so unique.
J.
Loved the glass blowing show. Nice place to visit
Q.
If there were more stars I would giive them, this is surely one of the best glass blowing studios, the staff are are super friendly, cafe amazing and the sculpture garden truly amazing! The glass blowing is definitely worth seeing. We love going there! Lynden Over has inspired us to see more of New Zealand and go places we would not normally go to.
D.
If you love beautiful glass do not miss this on your next visit to Taupo. Yes, I bought a beautiful vase. Who could resist!
L.
Beautiful art if you can afford it very clever artists. The outside garden is beautiful.
J.
Didn't know that this place existed but it is definitely a place to add to your visit list! Great watching them make glass and walking around their garden 😄
J.
This is a wow of a place. Learned so much at the glass blowing demonstration and drank in the beauty and skill of the gallery. Also had lunch and loved the sculptuire garden - too much to see and appreciate in one visit. Bought some cards as mementos and recommending to everyone. Worth more than one visit if you like beautiful things
T.
A nice little spot just outside of Taupo, they make some really nice glass homeward and decorations - but they do come with a price tag.
There is a small garden where you can take a walk around to see some displays of the glassware they make with an entry fee, it takes about 15 minutes to walk it end to end if you take your time to appreciate all the pieces in the garden.
If you really needed the rest there is also a small cafe on site where you can grab a quick bite to eat.
It’s a nice quick stop whether you’re in Taupo or on your through to another destination.
C.
Awesome piece of arts.. glass moulding and lighting done is quite impressive. Must visit if you are art lover. Photography in garden is perfect.
C.
Shop is filled with beautifully designed and exquisitely made glass blown items. Very pretty pieces and as expected quite pricey and beyond what 'poor me can afford 🤣. The glass sculpture garden is filled with lovely glass pieces as well and is beautifully displayed in a lovely garden setting. Quite a small garden but very nice indeed. Enjoyed walking around and taking photos
S.
Great to watch the masters at work and hear their interesting commentary. Stunning works on sale. Lovely cafe on site and a wander through the sculpture garden is a must 👌
S.
The Lava Glass - Glassblowing Studio was extremely interesting. When we got there a woman was narrating whilst the glass blower was busy doing his thing. This did not really work but as soon as she left the glass blower talked about the process with much more love and enthusiasm for what he was doing. He was excellent and we were able to ask him questions as he was making glass. At the very end of the demonstration we thanked him and then went through to the gardens which were also quite beautiful. We then went to the shop but unfortunately the prices were out of our league though there were some exquisite peices.
s.
The Ladies at the shop were friendly and helpful.
The glass blowing was interesting and fun, the food in the cafe was exceptional, the walk around the glass
garden was really cool
M.
On a small distance from the waterfall/ hot springs. They have a good cafe with a nice assortiment of food. For a small fee you can stroll tru the glass garden, pricewise worth it!
C.
$40 family price to enter the garden. They also let us into the workshop but no glass blowing at that time, probably because it was close to end of the day. The garden is fairly small with just a few impressive artworks in my opinion. However, I'm not very much into arts. The better works are in the shop but photographs are only allowed in the garden. If you're not into arts, probably not recommend to spend your money to enter the garden. To see what glass blowing is all about, try YouTube for free. $20 of the $40 garden entry fee becomes credit for glass purchase but I don't think many people would take advantage of it as most products are very expensive.
S.
We didn't have time to visit the studio itself but we had fun at the gardens which are attached to the studio and which contain lots of beautiful glass sculptures. The gardens aren't large and we could have completed the walk around in less than 10 minutes but it was a lovely day and the kids were having fun running around. Be warned: there are lots of bees and wasps hovering around.
M.
The Cafe at this gem of a place is brilliant. Very good menu, hot coffee also. The store Lava Glass 165 State Higbway 5 Wairakei has the most beautiful blown glass items. Will visit again.
B.
Absolutely fantastic. Really enjoyed watching the making of a vase from start to finish. A pity it was so wet as would have loved to look round the sculpture garden .
l.
Lovely cat, would keep him if I was allowed but not for sale. Prices where out of my range but worth paying for. Great helpful staff
M.
This place is a must to visit. I didn't expect it to be this good. The garden is great if you appreciate art. If not then you can visit the workshop were they produce glass pieces. Staff are very friendly and informative.
B.
Lava Glass is worth a visit, the glass is beautiful and so much choice. The staff are very helpful and there is a Cafe to the side of the store.
D.
Beautiful garden with amazing works. Well worth seeing.
Only downer was the vaccine pass requirements being enforced.
D.
Amazing art gallery on the way to Taupo. The staff was very friendly. The very unique lava glass exhibition is also there in the garden, which made you feel you are in wonderland. There is a workshop as well, where you can see how they actually make such a master piece. It was one of the good experience. It's bit pricey but when you will visit the gallery you won't be able to control yourself from spending and it's a worth spending the amount of time and effort behind each master pieces :)
And yes there is a small cafe as well.
M.
Great cafe and great glass experience. Amazing items available for purchase from the glass blowing studio but do range from low to quite high in price (as you would expect for quality handmade good). Sculpture garden is worth a walk through too.
W.
The glass garden was incredibly beautiful!!
F.
Absolutely beautiful. Will definitely be back to purchase something.
So many different colours to choose from. So I'd rather wait until have have the right place to sit such a lovely piece of art
M.
Good for tourists. Nice little Cafe inside and the garden walk is good for a 20 minute diversion from the road.
C.
If you like art and craft, this is an absolute go to on your trip. Nice Café with great coffee to.
S.
The glass blowing studio tour is well worth a visit. It is amazing watching the artists turning the raw glass into such beautiful objects.
T.
Wonderland must do the garden walk nice and short. Cafe was great. No glass blowing due to covid 10 was a shame
T.
Awesome glass objects big and small but dont expect to find something affordable this is for serious enthusiasts. Dont bring your bull into this shop! Amazing skill and a lifework on display. There is also a small cafe inside which is lovely. Recommended!
A.
Definitely worth a stop between Taupo and Rotorua. Even for people not into art this place showed some incredible glass pieces showcasing their makers ability. Can also watch the glass being made live and walk through their amazing garden. Check it out!
M.
Omg 💖💯 beautiful beautiful, blew me away with all the beauty of glass, got to see how they make there beautifully made pieces of wonderful glass art, amazing glass blowing, the glass garden W😍W I fell in love, I was Alice in wonderland lolz, visit this place! you won't regret it, they also have a cafe 👍🏼 my husband spoilt me with beautiful gifts of glass 🧡 awesome service right through out our visit, thank you 💯👌🏽
N.
pleasant store, the glass work is remarkable. a little memory when you leave. the glass garden is very pretty. large parking space for parking. a short stop is necessary while passing by.
C.
Fabulous place to visit. Exquisite glass - the colors and high quality are just gorgeous. Cafe is really good too! Go there ...take your visitors....it is worth a good visit.
M.
Ideal venue for a road stop.
Very nice atmosphere, great food, tidy premises and friendly staff.
We stopped by on a trip back to Hawkes bay from Rotorua for lunch.
There is a very nicely arranged shop with glass ware created by artists working on site. You can view them at work for a small fee.
There is also a small sculpture park to visit for a fee. Family prices are available. Both pleasant distractions from a possibly lengthy drive.
We had reasonably priced snacks such as sandwiches and pies. These were nicely arranged with a small salad and tasted great.
We sat in the very nice outdoor space and enjoyed a very good coffee and cake.
Overall a great tip for a quick travel break. The food is fresh and very good with snack and meal options. There is a very good cake collection to choose from and cooled organic drinks from the fridge.
We will definitely be back for a little road stop every time we drive by.
Sadly, there are several notices not to take any photos. Therefore, I have none to share from the nice outdoor space, the shop and the cafè.
S.
It is quite interesting watching the glass blowing. The garden is beautiful with a number of awesome glass sculptures. Well worth a visit on a fine day.
D.
Ok I only really give nice thumbs up five star reviews. Blame it on my mother's and grandmother ( if you don't have something nice to say " shut up") so the bad thing about kava glass is I didn't have the money to buy the pieces I liked, up side I didn't think I would like glass sculpture, now I learned something about myself ✅👍in learning, the artist workshop and demonstration was top notch. The cafe was nice with really good coffee. I would if stayed longer but I really wanted that vase, which I really couldn't afford. But we still had to have something so I have a momento
L.
Stunning glass creations. Even in the rain, the glass sculpture garden is worth a visit. True craftsmanship in the shop gallery. Yummy cafe food too
金.
On the way into Taupo city centre, it’s a good place to take the kids
D.
Amazing art but out of our price range, we only had a look at the gallery and was a little disappointed that the sculpture garden had a entry fee pay which was more than we were willing to pay. We didn't try the cafe as we had just finished breakfast.
Q.
HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!
We always visit here when passing by, just super stunning. Amazing glass art. The sculpture gardens is a MUST SEE and their cafe brownies the best!
W.
Excellent glass works. Great garden for photos and relaxing. We enjoyed the personal viewing of the making of glass blowing process. Every moment was a memorable visit for us all
S.
Like most other reveiws, a great place to see. I just could not own one of the peices as it os way out of my price range, but i understand that the glass is from italy and not cheap as its one of the most purest. Will be back when i win lotto.
N.
Great place of glass art. To me glass is fragile and delicate but in this place glass is presented as soft like a flower, heavy like a bowling ball and light as a feather floating in the breeze. Pretty creative art pieces. Really liked the reconstruction of glass as we commonly know it. Made me appreciate glass art which I had no idea about previously. Thanks to the staff for being so welcoming A+ customer service.
B.
Paid to watch glass making inside the workshop, quite interesting.
Glass products are too expensive for the quality they produced.
A small cafe inside the shop is quite cozy for a drink.
Z.
A cool place to stop off and get a quality hot coffee and view some incredible glass blown items. There is a beautiful garden to walk through and you can also watch the glass blowers at work! Food at the cafe was delicious and the coffee was great. Wonderful place to stop off for a break, refreshments and to check out some awesome one-of-a-kind art!
L.
They very nicely allowed us to purchase the combo ticket of glass blowing and sculpture garden and split amongst our group where 2 people went to watch glass blowing in progress and 2 others, the sculpture garden.
Overall, was an OK visit. If you have 30 minutes to spare why not? But if you have a packed itinerary you could probably tag this as additional when you have spare time.
J.
Great little shop and Cafe. Well worth the stop and make sure to visit the garden gallery (costs, but free if you buy something) and you can also get a demo in the studio if he is working at the time.
S.
Amazing place the glass is awesome and the food is yummy. Nice staff so friendly and helpful. A must see.
T.
We take the combo: workshop and the garden. The master artist is just amazing, he shows us some of his professional techniques of blowing, turning, cutting........
S.
lovely things here. was quite busy but not too long a wait to be served.
J.
Great garden fee for $10/person. Lots of things to see and enjoy. Very friendly staff and cat in the garden
L.
Fantastic place to visit - gorgeous glass works on display or for sale, interesting workshop demos and nice food.
B.
Get glass pieces. Picked up a beautiful necklace and wine gobblets. The pasta special was very tasty and quite substantial. Loved the desserts.
R.
Amazing and beautiful pieces in the shop.... arrived too late in the day to do the walk through the garden.... look forward to doing that next time :)
A.
The glasswork was a thing of beauty. Cafe had great staff and quick service, the food and drinks were also lovely.
W.
Beautiful garden, quiet and peaceful. Glass a bit expensive. Still a good place to stop
Y.
The imagination and art was extraordinary. Shame we couldn't take photos.. I did buy this beautiful perfume bottle, so as this is mine, I can post it. 😊
M.
Even beautiful in the rain. We were provided with umbrellas to walk amongst the sculptures in the garden.
J.
Beautiful studio and you can watch the glassblowers work, very neat!
L.
Amazing glassware showing great imagination in the themes but out of my price bracket.I did buy a small paperweight. Garden was great as well.
C.
Beautiful artwork and garden display.
Prices for art pieces range from about $40 up to several thousand dollars
F.
Absolutely a place not to miss. Loved the sculpture garden which cleverly used the glass work to life using our native bush as a inspirational canvas for each of installations.
They also let you into the work room and watch one of the master artists turning and working each piece. Fascinating. And I loved it 🥰🦋🕉🥂🤩.
S.
Nice place but couldn't see the blowing of the glass. The staff's were nice and the garden was not as spectacular as explained. But beautiful gallery.
R.
Loved the garden and also understanding who makes them and how the end of result is shown on the ornaments they make
H.
Amazing art work.. highly recommended place to visit in Taupo
K.
Sculpture gardens are magnificent.. glass blowing studio where you can sit and watch them make and blow their own pieces then there's the cafe which has really good coffee and delicious slices and a breakfast/lunch board.
t.
Nice place, good cafe.. got asked twice for my vacine pass even after restrictions ended :/
L.
Nice garden and can watch glass blowing, items are very expensive to buy though. Had the worst hot chocolate l have ever had there, ordered 3 and threw them all out tasted like warm milk not chocolate☕
A.
Amazing glass sculptures, amazing skill by the team who showed us their technique
K.
Absolutely awesome, Cafe great, staff upon entry helpfull. Highly recommend to see
F.
Good place to visit, interesting glassblowing exhibition. Good cafe adjacent
T.
Staff go the extra mile to be helpful. The work for sale is of exceptional quality. One can spend a lot of time admiring it. Each piece has many details that are not obvious at first glance. As one looks more closely one feels drawn into the work.
The attached cafe offers a range of good food as well.
M.
Was great to see the glassware being created. Such a good experience.
V.
Brilliant business. Watching the glass blowing is incredible and the outdoor sculptures are an experience. Also very nice Cafe inside.
C.
A beautiful garden definitely worth a walk through.
M.
Very expensive, but made with love, and they are special individual pieces, but the average person couldn't afford to pay out $4500...coffee ok though
A.
It's worth a visit. You can pay for the workshop tour and the garden with glass sculptures. If you've never been there before, I recommend doing both. The workshop is so interesting and they are real pros in working the glass. They have a shop, with amazing glass art and also a cafe. Food was fairly nice, my chai latte was way too sweet, but everything else was amazing. The garden is quite pretty and relatively small but with a variety of sculptures. Also, it's just a short drive north from Taupo.
J.
It was amazing to learn about glass creations. It is truly an art! And the garden it's to die for!!!
A.
Nice glass art works for sales, with a family friendly park and good cafe. The coffee is 5/5 and food is 5/5 too. Well done!
G.
An amazing place.you have to visit to believe the amazing pieces.no photos allowed in the shop.
M.
Was awesome to see a pro at work and go see all the amazing sculptures at an affordable price.
P.
Stunning glass shapes and colors. Excellent cafe.
R.
Lovely artisan lava glasses. Cafe has a good healthy choices. Good coffee too
f.
I’m not much into glass or blown glass but what they’ve done in the garden is amazing. I was really impressed. It was a garden with plants but it also had so many beautiful and unusual and unexpected glass art. I didn’t think of them as glass art at the time but it’s the only way I can describe it - but the term doesn’t do it justice. All I can say is go and see for yourself. The staff were also lovely, friendly and helpful and the food in the cafe was great too. Walking around the garden I wondered if they did night tours as I thought it would all look amazing with light shining through it.
E.
Doesn't take long to go through. I loved it and the information on the displays were informative 🙂
M.
Very cool experience. Paid $15 to see the Glass Blowing studio and garden
J.
Really informative and interesting to see how the individual pieces are made. Fascinating to see Leon take an idea and then bring it to creation.
Theres a shop as well to buy pieces. Competitively priced and each piece unique.
A.
Loved the sculpture garden and took some amazing photos.
J.
Nice place for a coffee an food.
If you like glass sculptures this is the place to be.
B.
Great place to visit. The sculpture garden is worth a visit. Also the glass blowing is a must see. The glass blown items on sale are really worth a look.
S.
My gosh , everything is just beautiful! From the start to end. And the ladies are absolutely welcoming 😍😍😍😍
d.
This was a chance stop, and boy was it a find. If you can go here , do! It was the most beautiful place. The talent of the glass artists is astounding.
S.
They have a lot of really nice glass artwork. They also have a quick show out the back if you want to see how they create the artwork. The show also comes with a $10 discount voucher as well.
B.
Nice friendly cafe in a lovely space. Didnt go to the sculpture place.
C.
Amazing place, definitely worth visiting. Watching glassblowing was absolutely fascinating. Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely café and gorgeous sculpture garden. We bought two vases and we got them shipped to Europe – even though we were a bit concerned how they were going to survive this long journey, they came in a perfect condition, excellently packed and protected.
H.
Totally enjoy my trip. Watch how coloured glass was made. Walk around the gardern amazing glassware done. Lovely lunch. This trip was with the women's Buffalo lodge.
D.
Lovely lava glass bowls, very beautiful. Was very crowded so left pretty quickly. Lots of parking. Glass bowls very expensive but worth the price. Quality excellent. Vibrant colours.
M.
This place is absolutely amazing. Loved watching the glass turned into something really stunningActually bought a couple of glass ware.
R.
Seeing the creations is great but you can't miss out on watching the glass blowing process. Yummy food in the Cafe too.
S.
Great iconic place to spend some time at with amazing hand made and blown glass masterpieces.
The cafe is super easy to access with a good variety of food options with great coffee!
Spend some time in the garden and why not pop in to watch the experts in action as they create glass-art.
Parking right to the door and easy access to shop/cafe.
r.
Incredible talent here in Taupo. Great commentary in factory. Fascinating
N.
Awesome arts and craft using glass.
G.
Beautiful art and really welcoming grounds. Absolutely beautiful wares, a number of them displayed in the Beautiful creations garden / sculpture garden. Most of it a bit out of our price range though and one has to pay to be able to see the glass blowing. Unfortunately, place is starting to become to much for the tourists ( Pricey ) and not regular New Zealanders though still worth the visit.
i.
Awesome place, lovely garden full of ideas.beautiful people
J.
What an amazing experience! It was well worth paying the extra entry fee to watch their expert Glass Blower at work. I stayed and watched him blow a complete Glass Tree, it was fascinating! Pay to walk through their garden as well as it is well set out, artistic, creative and very colourful, I took some great photos so I can see it again and again! And you get a discount off any purchase you may make in their amazing Glass sales shop. I love the purple glass mushroom I purchased!
D.
Had a lovely time at Lava Glass. I'm a bit fussy and wanted a glass in a color not there, so they have taken a order and are making one. They were very accommodating and made me feel at ease. Bought a few other items as well could have got so many other things so will be going back. Even if you are not in the market for any of these beautiful items it is worth having a look
M.
Gallery, studio and glass garden all well worth a look.
W.
Always lovely to visit here. We have purchased a few of their products. Good cafe, and the garden and glass blowing is very interesting to see and watch!
N.
Amazing I loved the garden!!!! Cheap and highly recommend
J.
I had a great time during my visit. We got to see how it works behind the scenes and witness how the artists do such amazing work. After that, we made a tour in their glass garden and saw amazingly beautiful and colorful sculptures, all made of glass of course. It's so impressive to see the amount of detail and love that goes into each piece.
They also have a café and sculptures, both small and big, for you to take home with you.
I had a blast, you won't regret going there either!
P.
Nice to visit and see the glass blowing demon stration.
The garden with some amazing use of pottery as plants is a nice visit.
There is a lot of beautiful product for sale.
A must to visit when in Taupo.
b.
The shop is good and I recommend the sculpture garden, its interesting and colourful.
R.
Spectacular. Amazing art work and the sculpture garden is a must see. The galas waterfall was enchanting - could have stayed there all day. Thanks lava glass for a perfect finish to a holiday.
W.
Always have had good service from the cafe staff and great food quality. We visited the glassblowing demonstration and the outside garden with grandchildren and they enjoyed all experiences. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
E.
We made a quick impromptu stop here. Beautiful space with great staff. We checked out the workshop and garden - both well worth the affordable entrance fee. Very cool!
D.
Very attractive pieces of glassware. Priced for high end of market.
A.
Such beautiful works of art to see & buy
G.
Fantastic (yet very expensive) beautiful pieces of glass art
A.
We did the garden / glass blowing combo. The garden comprises NZ Native specimens with matching / sympathetic glass sculptures. Loved the musical water cascade.
The glass blowing was informative and interesting. We didn't stop at the cafe but it smelt wonderful.
Enjoy!
B.
Well worth the visit. Nice lunch
S.
Wonderful helpful hostess . Very helpful & all with humor. Gr8t experience
A.
Great place to see glass blowing at its best, staff excellent, exhibition of goods fantastic, love the garden display, had lunch and it was delicious. Can't fault this place will visit again I'm sure
f.
Very nice work of art but wasnt that big as I thought.Expensive entry and products as well.
R.
Amazing Lava glass company well worth a visit if you are in Taupo
J.
Beautiful garden with glass sculptures and delicious food in the cafe
D.
Beautiful art pieces here. Was moved to tears by the beauty of the work.
Food was absolutely divine. Definitely recommend this place to visit, sit and eat ❤💛💚
C.
Glass blowing demo well worth experiencing, garden walk,OK.
A.
Nice coffee and food. Toilets were NOT nice. No hand towels, gunge all along the back of the hand basin and the floor looked a mess. Come on guys, the prices are up there...you need to also have spotless toilets. Also , when weve paid $40 for lunch why would we be charged another 10 bucks each to look at the sculpture garden.. nothing is geared for Kiwis anymore. Disappointed.
J.
Fantastic place to visit. So interesting to learn about glass blowing and view so many amazing creations. Also had a very tasty platter for lunch - highly recommended!
V.
Beautiful art and really welcoming grounds. I loved being able to see some glass being blown into a cup and the walk through the gardens was beautiful. I wish I had way more money to buy a bunch of their art pieces. As it was, we walked away with some of the glasses. Bonus points for the fact that since we went on a rainy day, Lava Glass had complimentary use of their umbrellas when we were looking through the garden.
I.
Fabulous, amazing display. Yummy platter in the Cafe.
L.
So lovely. Wonderful food in the cafe, glass blowing demonstration was fantastic, sculpture garden beautiful. Helpful staff. Bought a few small but spectacular pieces that were shipped (for free) back to Australia for me. Highly recommended.
S.
Inspiring studio and interaction with glass artists encouraged by staff and artists themselves. Garden amazing glass work and coffee out of this world. Best in Taupo and I'd tried a few.
t.
Beautiful sculpture garden, stunning artwork and you can watch the artists at work. Lovely cafe on site with friendly staff.
O.
We visited this last week while we were in Taupo. An amazing place and the lady who was explaining things when we were watching the glass blowing was very informative. Thoroughly recommend going.
Louise
N.
Nice glass gardens. Worth watching the the glass blowing
A.
Splended tour of the glass sulptures in the garden and one of the friendly staff shown us how they are made. My favourite is the glass rainbow.
M.
Absolutely stunning glass work. Unfortunately out of my price range, but there was so many stunning pieces I wanted. Most made on the premises and the pieces are inspired by our beautiful landscapes
R.
Visited the shop and cafe here and decided to do the tour as well. The glass blowing demonstration was impressive, as were the gardens with their array of glass sculptures. These made some excellent photos. Enjoyed the coffee at the cafe, unfortunately most of the glass items for sale were beyond our budget.
B.
The glass art is superb, and the garden is well worth a visit also. But beware, you will be very tempted to buy as we were - and are delighted with our purchase of a uniquely NZ landscape-inspired piece.
D.
I visited Lava Glass in the last week of June with my son and a group of work colleagues. The furnaces had all been turned off pending the installation of a new furnace. However, there was plenty to learn about, see and do. Carmen talked us through the process of glass blowing and showed us several of the pieces and talked us through the process of their production. We had lunch in the well-appointed cafe and found the quality of food and coffee to be very high. We then visited the glass sculpture garden which had a broad range of exhibits, all of which are for sale. This is an experience not to be missed, especially if visitors can watch glass artworks actually being produced.
A.
Love to see the glass blown in fantastic colors and shapes - entry cost was cheap. Would highly recommend.
D.
Awesome experience! Would highly recommend watching the glass blower(s) in action as it's very impressive watching them create amazing artwork and getting an explanation of the steps that they make and why they do them.
You also have the opportunity to purchase some of the handmade glass artwork too. They're a bit too expensive for my bank account atm, but definitely worth the investment as they're very impressive and stunning.
B.
Just a fabulous place of NZ skill and artistry.
K.
The gallery and garden have beautiful art and it was very nice to see the guys working on the pieces in the workshop and seeing and hearing how everything works. The art itself is very expensive though which is a shame, because it would be a very nice souvenir and a good way to support local people. I would highly recommend visiting the studio!
K.
Very friendly helpful staff.
Enjoyed watching glass blowing and walking through sculpture garden. Coffee was good as well.
G.
A must stop off on your travels! The glass is simply amazing so many colours and combination. It's worth paying the extra to walk around the gardens and see the inspirational glass sculptures and the lovely setting they have been put in. We watched Chris working the glass to make a bubble vase. The techniques that went into it was fascinating and all our questions were answered. All they staff were so friendly and helpful.
M.
Gardens are well worth a visit. The glass products on sale are simply awesome
H.
Beautiful products. Introduction to explain the glass making was very rushed and done whilst we stood when there were seats available, maybe needs adjusting how they deliver information about it. Not very interactive. Lovely cafe.
M.
Wonderfully informative. Very nice outdoor garden. The glass items are beautiful. Even the coffee was good. Can turn out to be an expensive visit if there are a group of you and you want to watch the glass blowing and visit the garden.
I.
Beautiful artistic glasswork. Some smaller items around 35 to 50 dollars, others you'd need a mortgage to buy them but visually stunning. You can watch the process of you pay $7.50
A.
Amazing artwork, loved watching the glassblower in his workshop. The garden exhibition is amazing!
R.
Super-friendly service makes your coffee taste twice as nice. Many people can learn from Lava Glass. And such a nice setting, a nice sculpture garden, with so many flowering shrubs and trees.
V.
Very interesting place, love the artwork but some items are quite expensive, but definitely beautiful items to admire. The glass blowing show is quite informative.
A.
It was fascinating to watch the glassblowing in action. Very knowledgeable staff and a lovely stroll around the sculpture garden. Definitely worth a visit.
M.
Absolutely brilliant 👌 amazing talented people making unique lava glass products , really interesting to watch, amazing shop & sculpture garden walk, excellent Cafe
G.
We went there for lunch. The food is always well above average and not overpriced. Will visit the sculpture garden another day. The glass on sale in the gallery is stunning and I believe you can sometimes watch it being made.
D.
Top Mark's
Many fascinating one off art works
Well tended glass art garden walk
Got to see the artist in action
Excellent quality cafe.
Well worth the visit
B.
It's a nice experience. The glass garden does not seems to be worth it for the price; though it's nice.
L.
Gorgeous things. Lovely staff
S.
Amazing artistic glass blowing, such lovely designs and colours. Well worth the experience. Great garden/art gallery and good food at the cafe. Recommend a visit if you are in the vicinity.
A.
A brilliant breakfast, served by friendly, helpful staff, followed by a viewing of a glass blower working in the furnace room. Watching the glass blower work, he was happy to chat about the process while doing so, adding a lot of extra details which we craved. A great morning, and the glass garden was lovely and tranquil. Highly recommended .
A.
Beautiful! The garden itself is stunning, let alone all the marvelous glass work throughout. So worth a visit!
V.
While I did buy a glass and it has cool stuff it is not full of things I want, unless I am in trouble with the wife as a solution may be found here. Has a cafe there. Not yet done the outdoor walk.
R.
Just the most special team there at Lava Glass. I watched them creating their wonderful art, and then bought a beautiful pale green vase for a friend. 10 /10 for the whole opportunity. Glass blowing demo and a wonderful presentation by the young lady describing all that is going on. THEN, you get to view both the glass garden and the gallery.
A very special place. R
N.
Beautiful glass art and a great Cafe
M.
Fantastic glass blown objects d'art. Nice Cafe too! We bought glass lamp shades for over our kitchen island bench in our new place. :-)
A.
Highly recommend! Very interesting place!
J.
Very impressive well worth the time to visit
M.
A nice place to visit when around Taupo. It was a rainy day so we wanted to do something inside.
NZ$15 pp for a combination of watching the glass being made and a walk in the garden.
The cafe is very nice too.
M.
This lovely store has many beautiful glass items for sale. These are made on site and you can even see glassblowing being done for a fee. Most of the items are very expensive but are large. It would be nice to have a selection of smaller items at lower prices for those with a smaller budget but would like a memory of having been there.
C.
Have visited lava glass previously. This time took friends from Auckland and all were really impressed by the sculpture walk and glass blowing demo. Looked at the showroom which demonstrated the talent of the artists but was far out of my spending reach. It would be great to see some more affordable items for sale.
C.
Beautiful pieces sold in the shop, but priced quite highly. The garden is a little small and needs more injection of fresh ideas and flowers. It's not bad but not very interesting after visiting the Chihuly museum in Seattle.
F.
The lava glass blowing studio is well worth checking out. And the art that they have in the cafe is incredible - no two ways about that. The cafe itself was nothing worth writing home about... friendly staff, average coffee and average food. I would still really reccomend visiting the lava glass blowing studio though
C.
Wow!!! Saw a glass blowing demonstration which was narrated by an excellent staff member...Fantastico glass objects shop, well lit and displayed. Liked the way there were ranges of sizes and themed objects with similar patterning and colours to make a cluster effect for display purposes. Has a cafe which uses glass to demonstrate the usage of a professionally made eg.vase or platter .
The glass sculpture garden is superb and demonstrates the use of glass in a variety of ways...eg.the glass leaves on a lance wood plant..glass balls amongst tussock plants. Loved it.
C.
Awesome place to have a look at, some real talent in glass blowing. I definatly have to say tho as much as id love a lava glass colection it is way out of my price range to ourchase anything. Not to say someone else wouldnt as theyre such sophisticated pieces of art which look amazing!! Definatly worth the stop though, we got into watching glass blowing on netflix and enjoyed looking around!!😁😁
Y.
It is a worth visiting place.
A.
lava glass is an awesome place to see how they actually make the bowls and vases etc. the entry fee for the workshop and the sculpture garden is $10 and one even gets a discount if he purchases anything fromt eh glass shop.
the glass items will definitely cost you and arm and leg if you want to purchase something. But i think the cost is pretty decent looking at the amount of labour that goes behind the making of 1 glass bowl
should definitely visit this place.
P.
Had an awesome time. Everyone very welcoming and very helpful. Fascinating to watch the glass set being made. I'd recommend a visit here anytime you are in the Taupo region. We will definitely be coming back.
A.
Lovely creative glass ornaments by Lynden and Co. An interesting viewing room where you can watch the master(s) in action and ask questions for a small fee of $30 entrance for family of 5. Take heaps of cash if glass ornaments are your thing!! Really beautiful and unique artwork. Plus there's a lovely in/outdoor café for food and drink and a glass sculpture garden (which we never entered) to walk around and view at an additional cost of $40 per family of 5.
C.
Lava glass making watching and garden tour together costs $30. It was an interesting experience but I found the price was slightly over priced. But I can guarantee you can get great pictures in the garden.
The prices for art pieces are definitely out of my budget 😅. One set of the glass art, easily match with the price of a second hand car. It was a different experience in Taupo.
B.
Great experience! The glass ornaments taking shape in the hands of the master craftsman is really fascinating. The Glass garden is a great showcase of beautiful glassware in the shape of flowers and ornaments. The coffee and food is great! The unexpected surprise is the Blackforest Rocky Road from the cafe - best in town! A big thank you to the friendly staff @ Lava Glass for making the experience so memorable. Cheers!
B.
This is a must visit place in Taupo. Just a couple of minutes away from the Auckland/Taupo roundabout, the cafe is great and the artworks are impressive! Bring your best credit card, it's not for the faint hearted.
G.
Great family trip.
M.
Amazing glass work. Well worth the stop or 3 minute diversion of SH 1. Excellent food in the cafe and clean toilets. The glass garden is definitely worth a visit, my kids really enjoyed it.
C.
If you are near Huka falls, this place is worth a visit. The art is both unique and beautiful and looks amazing under the direct light the staff use’to demonstrate the variable colors. Once I saw that, i had to have one. It will be a great reminder of our trip to New Zealand.
A.
Great place to visit. Lady at counter had very good customer service. We went and saw the garden and thought it was gorgeous. It looked stunning and we loved it. We think it should be a little bit bigger for the price we paid. But a must visit for all because there is nothing else like it in the southern hemisphere.
G.
Great sweet treats, coffee good, lovely on a sunny day, music very nice and restful BUT spoilt by noisy staff chattering loudly as they work.
J.
Some amazing stuff on display, slighty disappointed that seeing the glass blowers is paid for but it is understandable.
Can definitely recommend the garden though, well worth your time and money
G.
Very cool place to spend an hour or so exploring the colourful arts of glass.
Cafe was also good as they had a muffin/scone and cuppa deal for only $7.
C.
We were quite unsure whether we should visit the Lava Glass Blowing. Finally we decided to both visit the Glass Garden and the Studio and both were really worth it. In the garden are some great art works! The studio is very interesting because you can watch them creating the glass items and learn about the hole process.
C.
Absolutely beautiful. Stay for coffee, watch glass blowing and wander through the fairyland like garden. Worth the stopover.
v.
Amazing spot to check out glass blowing in process.
Experience with coffee and sculpture garden made it unique cafe experience.
a.
Very very cool place, fun to watch everything happen. I love the garden, and i know not important but awesome iced chocolate
S.
Amazing glass, with brilliant chance to see the glass being made for a very small price, stunning glass garden and lovely food at the cafe. Prices are mainly on the expensive side so go there being prepared to pay a lot. Totally worth checking out!
D.
Incredibly talented artists! Worth the visit!
M.
Nice glass blowing artwork. Unusual items you wouldn't find at a department store. The walkthrough garden of sculptures is fun to explore
Garden exploration is $10 per adult.
R.
Good food here and the glass is very interesting but the gardens and glass sculptures are expensive. Overall a good place to visit when you need a small lunch or brunch or if you are looking into glass sculptures.
J.
I just love this shop. So unique. Lovely to see how the glass items are made. Beautiful patterns and designs. The staff are lovely and the food is delicious. The glass garden is exquisite.
P.
This is a beautiful place to visit; we had a lovely brunch then walked through the garden with the great glass sculptures. The glass ware to buy is really nice but very expensive. We were very pleased to visit this pkace
D.
The glass blowing is mind blowing. Costs to watch but well worth it. The glass items for sale in the shop are exhibitions in them selves. Café is good but not cheap; same as the individual pieces.
E.
Beautiful, well run glass experience. Not just a gallery.
J.
Watching the glass blowing was amazing. Beautiful products
C.
Must see, the glass art here is exquisite! They have vases, ornaments and jewellery. You pay $5 to see the glass blowing and $7 to walk through a beautiful garden filled with glass art. They also have a little Cafe with good coffee and snacks.
r.
Have always been my favourite place to go. So relaxing and calming to see all the artwork. The glass master was so friendly and approachable. Even better than their actual front staff. Been here at least 5 times and only get to meet the master on the last visit. Only if I have money. Will love to decorate my place with Huka Falls collection. #hukafallslover#
L.
Nice stuff but just too expensive for us. Even watching the glass blowing and visiting the gardens seemed excessively expensive.
K.
Beautiful display of glassworks. We needed coffee and even though they were closing up they served us with a smile
T.
Nice stop in the journey North from Taupo. We stopped in and visited the live glass blowing display which was interesting, but pretty basic. Cost was $5 per person which could be refunded if a purchase was made. We didn't purchase anything as everything was set at tourist prices and pretty expensive.
M.
Amazing display. Wow the prices were outta this world pockets. Stunning items but way out of my budget. Disappointing really.
C.
Beautiful glass blowing pieces to look at.
My partner and I stopped at the cafe for an early lunch and it was one of my favourite meals I’ve had in NZ yet (I had the pasta of the moment and my partner had the steak and ale pie).
M.
Beautiful artwork. Worth a dtop if you like glass. You can pay to walk through the garden with glass art or watch them blow glass. Lots of lovely art for sale, but expensive.
P.
I have visited Lava Glass a few times and bought most pieces in their Tongariro motif. On my last visit I went into their sculpture garden and was surprised and delighted by its inventiveness and diversity.
K.
For the best themed glass blown hand made items . All made at the studio in Taupo. Something to be proud of to have such talent and skill in New Zealand. If I have to gift a story of New Zealand I will surely pick up a set from here. Must visit if you are going to pass through Taupo.
P.
Well worth a look. Beautiful glassware. Most of it a bit out of our price range but we did get something. Tha cafe was very nice also.
L.
I recommend that you visit this place, which has easy special mobility access, ample parking. The awesome Lava Glass Gallery has artistic glass creations of fascinating vibrant colors sizes and shapes and is complimented with beautiful paintings. The Jag Car Club group was devided in two so that half could watch glass blowing demonstration first while the others dined on choices of delicious Spicy Thai soup, Roast pumpkin Fritata, and the creamy Broccoli Panini Pasta freshly prepared by a skilled Chef and served with the perfect creme' coffees. The Lava Glass Sculpture Garden walk is unique and surreal, and is like a SALVADOR DALI style photographers dreamworld. A huge thank you to all the friendly staff who made this visit most memorable. From Larry and Diane. Akl J D Club
G.
Amazing sculptures and a chance to see the artists at work. The only hitch is that you can't leave without buying something.
G.
It was a great place, however the price of the items were not affordable for most ordinary NZers.
M.
Just stopped by for a quick look. He does beautiful work. Well worth a stop to stretch your legs and grab a cup of coffee.
We did not tour the garden.
H.
Amazing place to learn about art of glass making. Friendly staffs and lots of beautiful art pieces in garden.
S.
Beautiful art and amazing to watch it get made. Very unique place to visit. Lovely cafe as well.
B.
A must-see place if you're passing by. Beautiful works of glass art with range of prices to suit most pockets. The garden is well worth the small entry fee. Don't miss it.

Wonderful experience of watching how glass is blown, molded and shaped under high temperatures after patient hardship.
Lovely place with so many glass formations. The Glass Garden is an epitome of all the hard work these artists have been doing all these years although the products are bit overpriced.
R.
Awesome! It took me 13 years living in Taupo before I got there, but it's amazing and well worth a visit for any age group, the glass blowing display is cool and the garden is a real surprise.
V.
Our familiy visited the studio several years ago. We went there because it was nicely fitting our schedule, we wanted to see Huka Falls, Honey Hive (?), Wairakei Terraces and a dam - all nearby. That was my first time in an actual glass blowing shop and my experience was just great. Children were watching the process for surprisingly long time (about 30-40 min?) so I guess they liked it too :-)
A.
Have seen the making glass items and for 10 dollars been lo Lava Glass garden. It has artistic pieces made of glass; you see flowers, trees, balls etc. made of glass. It's worth visiting this place. Felt like the art pieces are costly, only people who can spend 40$ for a paperweight.
D.
If you like glass, like glass blowing and a nice family company like atmosphere then this place is awesome.. Garden is amazing in the sunlight
j.
Very attractive blown glass. Quite expensive to purchase. Nice Cafe indoor/ outdoor. Efficient service.
D.
Wonderful good show with glass blowing flowers interesting, has a small Cafe great staff
T.
glass is truly amazing! all the different shapes and colours is really interesting. if its on your way you should stop by. the café is ok, i dont recommend the green tea, they brewed it with boiling water and made it taste awful :(
V.
Awesome glass work! A bit pricey but when you know how much time and efforts going in to making a piece of work,, you will understand why it costs what it costs. A nice piece of NZ souvenir.
G.
The glass art garden is a must see, be careful walking through the shop as the prices are astronomical but the pieces are indeed unique and beautiful . The glass blowing show is very informative.
C.
The glassworks are nice, but pricy, around $350 NZ and up, they have some cheaper items but I didn't particularly like them.
The glassworks presentation and garden were ok, if you buy something at the cafe you can get a discount.
S.
Looks really nice but very expensive. Nice to see how they make the glass. Staff at the front counter could be more friendly.
R.
Amazing glass where and the garden a must do
B.
Beautiful merchandise and outstanding service overall. We always make a point to stop in on our way through.
C.
We saw how Chris made a piece. Fascinating experience! I loved the garden with all the sculptures. Wish I could afford a piece in the shop. Excellent quality work.
K.
Really cool little studio and sculpture garden. Studio visit is very intimate. Worth a visit if you’ve never seen glass blowing before. Family discount is a good deal.
T.
Amazing, very talented artists, the tour is well worth doing, and the sculpture garden is really well done. Highly recommend.
E.
It's a little interesting. Mostly making for the masses of tourists though. Very little exciting glass, however, it does look nice what is there.
s.
The cafe was expensive but the glass products were fabulous. We watched the glass blowing and loved the garden with the glass art displayed beautifully. Would recommend a visit but you could blow a lot of dosh in no time at all!!
d.
Great studio. Beautiful works
W.
Inspiring outdoor glass art exhibition
The food service was good and the glass blowing demonstration and commentary informative
I wish that I could afford a big piece of their work. It would have pride of place in the house!
R.
Beautiful craftsmanship and demonstration. Gorgeous garden
J.
My secret drooling place. Love the glassware. Cafe service okay. Food great
T.
If you like glass it's well worth a look and we enjoyed the sculpture garden.
C.
Cool place. Di Christie looked after us and was awesome!
D.
Great art studio and awesome garden. My wife loved it. Good coffee too. The only negative was the sales lady was pushy and annoyed my wife until other people came in for her to bother
S.
Bought two beautiful pieces. Wanted more. Next time. Definitely go again.
Really enjoyed watching how the lava glass pieces are created. Friendly helpful passionate staff.
L.
Great artworks, Nice glass garden and had a good look at the glassblowing at the workshop which was a very interesting process. The glass sculptures were very interesting and cool well wort the look.
R.
Gorgeous gallery, fantastic food. Great staff in both areas 🥰
C.
Staff very helpful and products are perfect for any occasion.
S.
Didnt pay to go into the studio. Just went there for coffee and cake. Coffee and cake were both quite good.
J.
Very beautiful items, a bit out of my price range. Some amazing items to see. There is also a little cafe attached to the building. You can sit indoors or outside.
K.
Cool place to view glass blowing. Although hold on to your kids in the gift area - the glass pieces are worth thousands of dollars. The glass garden is very creative and pretty
I.
No photos allowed. Beautiful glass pieces, but hellishly experience. We found the service a bit rude, we stood for 10 minutes not being acknowledged. We where hoping for a tour of the glass blowing but eventually left.
J.
Loved the sculpture garden. Some amazing glass blowing items. Hopefully next time we will see the glass blowing on action.
S.
The colours are spectacular, and definitely worth a visit.
B.
Great place to get a good insight into glass blowing. I was lucky enough to chat with the owners 1 on 1 and they explained the costs of running the ovens which is the main reason the glass art ends up costing so much.
C.
Came as part of Taupo Hospice group. We were warmly welcomed and were treated to a glass blowing demonstration and a walk through the glass garden. Thanks for looking after us and Fiona from hospice for treating us all to coffee and cakes.
A.
Worth the look ,staff friendly and helpful
A.
A very beautiful selection of glass sculptures, vases and jewelry. Some very expensive pieces in here though, although they do also offer free shipping to Australia as the tax they get back covers the cost.
J.
Very skilled craftsman. Nice cafe and lovely sculpture garden.
L.
Some beautiful pieces of glass & sculpture garden small charge for that worth it. Nice care good selection of food from menu & cabinets. Worth a visit.
J.
Beautiful contemporary glass design. Colorful and there is a small quiet coffee shop to relax in the building.
The shop requests not to take photos.
G.
Amazing experience.
R.
Beautiful glass crafts and artwork created here. Interesting to watch live work. A very healthy and tasty cafe too.
G.
Must see... so nice to watch the glass blowing from the very talented artists... Our lunch was divine, the duck was the best I have ever had and the sweet slices are all obviously home made.
V.
Great photo opportunity. The shop doesn't allow photography but in the garden you can have all the photos you like.
J.
The glass is beautiful and the coffee is good. It does seem over the top though to charge to watch a glass blowing exhibition and to charge again to visit the sculpture garden
B.
The hand blown glass is amazing. For a small charge you can visit the glass sculpture garden and watch the glass blower at work. I thought it was well worth it
A.
Great coffee and outstanding venison pies.
p.
Unexpectedly tasty lunch! We had burger and pasta here after Huka Fall river cruise.
(Not even shown on Google map as restaurant or cafe!)
H.
Interesting place to visit for a few minutes. Enjoy the outdoor garden and watch how they make the great pieces in store. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
J.
If you're backpacking around New Zealand like we are you probably won't be able to afford anything on sale here, but we really enjoyed watching some real skilled glassblowing which was great valuebfor $5 and very much worth doing.
a.
The garden is a good place to spend 30 mins and take photos.
Ticket price is reasonable.
On sale items were a bit pricy for me.
J.
The best glass I have ever seen
T.
Amazing! We went and watched the glassblowing then for a walk in the garden. Very talented artists and well worth it
S.
Incredible art work! Recommend watching them create their artwork in the workshop :)
N.
We have been here a few times for coffee.
The food is good too. The glassware is beautiful. Maybe we'll buy something one day.
R.
Very nice glass blowing place. Their glass shows an influence of Dale Chihuly. They also have a small cafe with very good iced coffee.
O.
Beautiful place, amazing artistry with glass, colorful and bright, will be back again and hopefully purchase a product for myself
L.
Beautiful glassware, and a great glass blowing demonstration. It was a rainy cold day so a perfect place to go for a coffee, and a warm place to watch the demonstration.
R.
Beautiful work from some seriously talented artists, so totally worth the visit and really mind blowing, let alone glass blowing, great outdoor landscaping concepts
D.
It's great to go view the glassblowing & display garden, however the art work in the gallery is priced well out of most people's range
M.
We had lunch here and it was nice and fresh, garden was very interesting as was the glass demonstration
A.
Good place for visit. The shop has good collection, the collection is in the expensive side of scale. But really beautiful. The glass garden has good view
W.
They have nice stuff prices are exorbitant and their sculpture garden leaves something to be desired
D.
Awesome friendly staff. Wonderful glass blowing demo and beautiful wander through the garden after a delicious cafe lunch.
G.
So lovely just need to win lotto 😊
A.
Excellent display of blown glass and great tour. Cafe service was ok, but I had a 20 minute wait for my coffee (which was disappointing - the barista was slow).
R.

R.
Our Saturday morning treat. Great coffee and lovely glassware to look at.
D.
Really enjoyed the glass blowing display, the garden is awesome, good coffee and the glass is incredible.
L.
Beautiful sculpture garden and art works. Amazing place. Well worth a look!!

Great cafe food and good coffee. The cold drinks selection needs work, unless you're a fan of expensive sugary beverages in small glass bottles.
P.
The glassworks was so beautiful and the lady in the shop was do friendly and lovely as she moved our favourite pieces into the light
M.
Amazing glass eork with a great range. If I was a bit better off I would go on a shopping spree there. Very friendly staff throughout too

Great staff on too thanks so much for your time
A.
This is an actual highlight of Taupo, I would expect to see it more busy in few years. Recommended
C.
Amazing glass creations. Very expensive to buy. In saying that, a fiver will get you behind the scenes to see the glass blowers in action which is actually really cool.
M.
The glass blowing demonstration was extremely interesting, the glass items that was in the showroom were beautiful. The gardens were wonderful.
j.
Great products, But take an open cheque book.Extremely expensive.

J.
Beautiful garden to wander around with glass sculptures. You can watch the owner blow glass too. Good cafe.
A.
Fascinating to watch the artists blowing glass. Beautiful sculpture garden and even has a small coffee shop for the coffee lovers.
P.
A good place to stop and look, but the ranges don't change that often at all. The prices are getting up there now so bring a good credit card if you want to buy anything.
R.
All-day live glass-blowing demonstrations for a small entry fee. Perusing the product shop is free. Nice place to visit.
F.
Not a big garden but colorful and interesting pieces.
F.
Busy when we arrived so food was a bit delayed but food was delicious and friendly staff.
A.
Great Food and Coffee, smily cheerful Staff.

R.
Kids loved the garden and were amazed watching the guys glassblowing! Very educational too!!
S.
Nice glass but have seen blowing and glass working in many similar places and never paid for the honour of what is after all a sales promotion
R.
It was so very well done. Watching the skilled craftsmen at work was a privilege and sculpture garden was a beautiful surprise.
A.
Fantastic glass art and other art and garden sculpture too. Great place to visit to see glass blowing.
J.
Beautiful glass blowing by local NZ artists. Quaint garden display of blown glass - a miniature Chihuly Gardens!
i.
Amazing art. Need to organise their glassblowing schedule a little better so we know when to be there to see them "performing".
G.
Prices seemed high, but I don't shop for glass often. I would have liked to find a gift there, but I guess I'm too cheap.
N.
Small Cafe and very new atmosphere. We wish we weren't just passing through so we could stay for the glassblowing viewer experience.
J.
Went into the cafe and had a long black. Nice place with beautiful glass blown sculptures

S.
One of those things you have to see. Get to watch them make the glass and take a walk through the garden. Was amazing
b.
Unique art. If you have not seen glassblowing it is industry and art fusion.
