H.Highly recommended! We had a wonderful experience in the farm. The place was not busy at that time compare to other lavender farms we've been to especially it's summer season. The lady was so lovely for letting us take some photos around the place for free and even lent her beautiful umbrella for us to use while taking photos.The guy in the shop was so nice and knowledgeable.He has all the answer about the item, just don't ask too much or you will end up buying for more 😀. They got a good variety of lavender products, which I love because it is all natural . We just missed the ice cream 😊We will come back that's for sure!
A.Absolutely gorgeous lavender field! Lovely person who gave simple instructions to walk through the field. Amazing lavender products as well, the essential oil, massage oil and pillow spray! Also got to buy a bunch of lavenders!
S.Lovely place to visit for a stroll around the farm, and some quite time in nature. The farm is planted around a house, and has ample shade giving trees to enjoy a relaxed and serene view from. We went in as a group of 3 families with kids and all of us loved it. Kids were offered fresh oranges plucked from the trees by the owner - which they thoroughly enjoyed later. The farm also has a shop which sells lavender products.
W.Lovely small lavender farm. Free to enter and walk around the fields. Just turn up! Lovely little shop selling products. Cool car infuser $10 makes a nice purchase for our van and smells amazing! All natural too :) staff friendly and explain their processes to create products. Only suggestion would be to improve car parking as very small space and hard to maneuver. Worth a visit!

A.Such a cute little hidden gem! Had a great afternoon here taking photos of the lavender and the bees. Worth a stop if you haven't been yet, there's a little gift shop too if you wanted to buy something special for someone else or just something to spoil yourself.

M.The owners, Bernie and Julie, were so friendly. We had a wonderful tour around the farm and learned so much about lavender. Will definitely go back again for their lavender products!
M.Had a fun afternoon strolling around & taking pics. The owner was lovely & took the time to show us around. Picked up some mist in the shop, only thing missing was some ice cream 9n such a hot day!
k.You'll know you reach the lavender farm even before you know it. You smell the lovely flowers from a distance. Once you open that car door, fresh air will great you along with the owners. Very humble place for such great views. Lots of picture opportunities and great place to just relax. Love their lollies, its a must try before you head home. They also have a tiny gift shop but loads of great stuff inside. You can never have the same authenticity of lavender products anywhere else. Best time to come is about first or second of January just before harvest season, as the flowers will be in full bloom then.
C.Good place to visit during the lavender season. The farm is beautiful and well kept. We came here sometime during the summer and the flowers were in full bloom. The scent is in the air that you can actually smell it even before you arrive. And even if we came here on peak season the place wasn't too crowded.
The farm is a bit huge, split into two by a driveway; which is also the parking spot. You can visit this place and take photos for free, though they do have a small shop that you can purchase some items.

J.Alphra Lavender is place you really need to visit. The time to do it is around December where the Lavenders are in full bloom. The owner, which I forgot his name, is helpful amd explained to me the process on how they squeeze out the oil from the flowers. They have also variety of lavender product which fairly priced.
M.Lovely lovely place, and the owners are super accommodating and hospitable. I took my elderly residents and friends a couple of times to this place. I can't get enough ❤😊❤

He's very humble and kind. One of those places where you simply feel welcomed. If you're travelling from Roturua to or from Waitomo, make sure you visit that magical place which smells so fantastic and you can hear the buzzing of the busy bees 🐝 collecting nectar.
H.We often come visit this place yearly. Great place for photo taking, free admission and you can even buy some baby lavenders home. This year 2019 is a great year for these plants.
N.Lovely place and smell lavender the moment u stepped down from your vehicle. The owner was very friendly and kind enough to show us their farm and type of lavenders that they planted. There’s a shop at the back where they sell lavender goods and 3 types of lavender oil could be found there. They processed the oils at their own yard.
Be reminded that the lavenders only bloom from december till january. You can check out on their website on which days are best to visit the farm.

D.It’s free to visit here there are a couple of tables & chairs, loo, bins, and parking. They also have a small shop and they sell products ranging from lavender scens, balms, oils, etc. they dont sell food however they do sell beverages. I’m not sure when is the best time to go here but pretty sure it’s summer.
The place is really pretty especially for instagram pictures but I wouldn’t say extraordinary. It’s beautiful but not exquisite but it’s still perfect for photoshoots with just a little bit of editing for example saturation since the lavenders aren’t that pigmented than expected. It’s pretty in person but not enough colors in pictures.
I recommend to wear PANTS because there are bees everywhere. It’s still okay to wear shorts or anything but just beware and try not to get stung. Lastly, tripods are really useful for taking pictures if you’re going alone that’s how I got my shots. S.It's a lovely place! It's not only Lavender, but also some other plants and trees, you'll find apple, oranges, citrus, vines and other.
The smell is really great, especially when I was there as they were cutting the lavender.
Also it's free! I was used to paying for this kind of places, so it was a good surprise (I would have paid if there was an entry fee, it worth it).

H.Definitely a must-see while touring within the region. Not only are there lavender farms, there are also trees of apples, oranges, limes, lemons, grapes, etc. as well as roses and a variety of plants. We spent a total of two hours there taking lots of pics. With all it has to offer, we were surprised that admission was free.

M.A pleasure to visit and see the sea of lavender. The owner is kind and willing to show the place around. There is also a small shop selling lavender perfumes, soap etc. They also sell water and softdrinks. It was a good day to spend with the family. Highly recommend to visit from December to January.
G.Alphra Lavender is very close to Te Awamutu in the Waikato, NZ. Free entry is a big plus. You can wander amongst 2 or 3 acres of flowering lavender in January/February, even when bees are swarming to feed on the pollen/nectar of the plants.
Walk carefully, but we were there for an hour plus and didn't get stung, even when brushing past the bees. 🐝 You can pose for photos.
There really needs to be a sign or two up. First, there are a couple of toilets that you can use. Visible. Okay. But, there's no indication at all that there is a retail shop at the back. The proprietors are very helpful and willing to chat. Their store around the back sells lavender perfumes, oil, diffusion items, candles, local honey, drinks, and much more. It could possibly be relocated closer to the entrance, so as to gain visibility and to increase sales.
The overall experience of Alphra Lavender is a very positive, memorable one. Thanks! GD.

R.Nice place outside the city. We went there in Sept'16. We know it is not the flowering season. It is early spring. Flowering would be only in Nov. Their perfumes and Lavender products are simply superb and original. One can't find this in any shops. They are home made. We love the Lavender Sweets..yes for the first time we taste it. Whhooooo..really nice. A drop of the perfume..the entire house is very aromatic.
S.This was the highlight of our New Zealand trip(for me!) This was my first visit to a lavender farm..The moment we opened the doors of our car the fragrance of lavender was what greeted us before the sights of endless rows of lavender flowers. They have great products too..My favourite was the alphra lavender perfume called 'Amelie'
If u like lavender ...Alphra lavender is the place to be. Best time to visit is between December to February.
