Very cool. Loved the live feed monitors and videos. Interactive for adults and kids. Brought a Star Disk, showing southern hemisphere. This guides a person what stars are showing in the nights sky relative to the day/current date. There is also info/guidance on which binoculars or telescope is best for viewing the night sky. Owner very knowledgeable. I will be back to try the virtual reality experience :) Thanks

I visited this lovely place with my partner on 4 April 2021.There are so many things to read and watch in this tiny, lovely place. I appreciate the effort, energy and time the owner put into this place.all the best.

Absolutely incredible. My two boys loved it. We were there for 2 hours and would have stayed for longer if we weren't due elsewhere. So interactive and informative with fun games and quizzes. Can't recommend it enough!!!

Lovely place to go visit. Talked with the owner. Lovely guy. Will be bringing the kids through. Kiwi schools need to get in contact with him. Kids would love it. Call him to book a visit. (078701966) It's well worth a visit.

A must-visit in Te Awamutu/ Hamiltonif you're into space exploration and astronomy.
Space exploration history has been captured in great detail with interesting objects and newspaper articles.
A child- friendly and engaging place - All our kids aged 2-8 enjoyed their time here.
I had great fun doing mini-quizes/tasks of varying difficulty to earn my "Ensign" badge.
The VR bit is really cool and completes the package.
Dave is super-friendly and keen to answer questions. 5 stars for being a kind and respectful host. :)
Well worth the time spent there! Will definitely visit again. :)

I had never heard of this place before, but was so surprised at how cool this was. We learnt so much and Dave is always there to help. He is friendly and welcoming, and knows just a thing or two about space ;)
I know many who would love this place.
Thanks so much!

Charming, humourous, presentation of what could be a very dry subject. Presented with enthusiasm and love. Loved the 'Random Space Facts' and the VR experience. Excellent value for money, easy parking and close to coffee and lunch.

Space Center - located just outside the skirts of Te Awamutu, Kihikihi. The kids have been here before a couple times. They chose this spot over going to the park.
The Space Centre brings an vary knowledge of space, rockets, general facts etc. It is complied with virtually reality head sets - which the kids enjoyed and a wonderful guide known as Dave.
S.
I experienced Te Awamutu Space Centre today with my children on their school trip and I loved it! I learnt new things about space today. Cool place to go and discover information about space or extend on existing knowledge 👍

Call ahead as you may need to book!
We turned up and were ok to come in as he found space (pun intended), but it was really busy!
Fantastic job done here, kids and adults alike will enjoy it :-)
Lots of interactive things to do as well.

Very informative and a lot of good content.

Absolutely amazing! Such a great space centre. I had to hurry my boys up to leave so we could get a ride in before dinner time. But could have spent 4 plus hours here. Boys are 5 and 6 but would suit all age levels as I throughly enjoyed it too. Dave your passion shines through in these displays, big ups to educating the future generations ❤

Called in today being School Holidays. If children (or adults) have an interest in Space, Solar Systems, space travel etc. This is the place to go. Dave has put together an amazing collection and is a great host. Happy to answer questions. Grandchildren really enjoyed it. Robben Family

Kids loved it! Especially the virtual reality (VR) goggles. Constant expressions of awe, wonder and appreciation. 5yr old enjoyed the alien treasure hunt, 7 yr old enjoyed the lunar landing computer game. Also, toys to play with and a space shuttle 'ride' (you kmow the little kid ones that are sometimes outside shops that you slot a coin into, but this one was free as part of entry), sun viewers were cool, and the quick presentation about the basics of our solar system, galaxy and universe. Highly recommend.
P.
Awesome hidden place you can walk around for hours and still see a new collectable or activity. Space Dave is great and check out his live streams as well, always something interesting he is covering.
S.
The space centre is amazing, jam packed with so much information and real space memorabilia. Space Dave is awesome, no question is too complex, the kids love his enthusiasm and the virtual reality headsets.

First time visiting the space centre with the kids today, and was such an enjoyable experience! :) Dave and Stephanie are such gracious hosts, and Dave’s knowledge of the space is impressive! Definitely worth a visit, and they’ve got so many activities to keep the kids occupied!

Set expectations accordingly, this is a small town science center. However, my two kids loved it. Planned on being there for around 45 minutes, and ended up staying for more than 2 and a half hours! Use the worksheets to get the kids to pay attention and you can't go wrong. So much info and great presentation for a small place.
J.
Our School Hub had such a great time at the Space Center on Monday and loved our very enthusiastic Host Space Guy Dave, who was brilliant. Questioning hands went up for Kids and Parents alike and Dave answered everything beautifully. You could see that minds everywhere were engaged. Thank you Te Awamutu
A.
This place is great. To be honest I was not expecting much from the size of it, but it kept two kids (ages 6 and 8) entertained for over two hours working on their cadet badges and using the interactive features. Would definitely recommend.

There for Father's Day - What a hoot. Great time with the kids. Took all four: 4.75, 3.5, 1.5 and six months. The centre kept the older three occupied, interested, and getting educated for a couple of hours. I also had fun, there's loads of information to absorb!
