P.We did the half-day canyoning with Wayne in January and had the best time! Everything was provided, all equipment and even a nourishing lunch at the top! Wayne was an amazing guide and we felt safe trying out new things like abseiling into waterfalls!

This was our first Canyoning and I can tell you guys that it was the most amazing thing one can experience in the magical place that is New Zealand. The connection with nature, the adrenaline and the overwhelming location makes you forget the mundane world and just enjoy being alive.
We were lucky to have Bree and Kayla joining Wayne and Anna as our guides and making sure we were crazy but ALWAYS safe!
It was the most amazing experience we had in our 3 weeks vacation.

S.One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. I highly recommend this activity with Canyonz. The scenery is beautiful and the canyoning itself is heaps of fun and gets the adrenaline pumping. Russ is very safety conscious and I felt very safe the entire time. If you've never done it before, you need to call Canyonz right now!!!!! I will be doing it again but will take my teenage daughters next time.
S.This was an awesome adrenaline activity! The guys from Canyonz (Wayne & Alex in our case) are experienced, make sure you are safe and that you have one of the best days of your life! I definitely recommend the full day trip as it brings the best mix of abseiling, jumps, a zipline and a slide. Free photos plus food make the price worth it. Thanks a lot guys!
N.One of the coolest outdoor experiences in the North Island - maybe even New Zealand. Some unreal abseiling down waterfalls and jumping into pools of water beneath waterfalls hundreds of metres up into the native NZ bush.
Wayne and Anna were fantastic and down to earth guides, and provided a fantastic and classic kiwi adventure for 8 of us.
Couldn't recommend this outfit or this experience enough. Worth every penny. Thanks guys!
B.My wife and I did the full day trip and had an absolute blast! She has never been a fan of heights but Russ, Wayne and Bree were so good at what they do and so professional, she said she was never scared. It was an epic day with absolutely stunning scenery. Going down those waterfalls inside that canyon is something that most people will never see. Even if you're nervous about doing this, I would highly recommend it. It's a trip you'll never forget!

Yes, you need to be physically fit to be able to enjoy the trip. Some parts were quite challenging. But it was definitely worth it. One of the best activities out there.

A.Hands down one of my favourite excursions I have ever been on. The staff makes all the difference as they make you feel comfortable throughout the entire trip. They are wonderful people who genuinely care about their customers. The Abseiling itself was better than I could have imagined. You abseil down multiple waterfalls with the option to zip line, jump or slide down a few. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who has a sense of adventure!
S.Had an awesome day canyoning with T and Sarah today. Did the full day. Great mix of activities. Lots of rock jumps into pools, abseiling, zip line, rock sliding. Atuatumoe is a stunning canyon. The funnel abseil was my favourite. BBQ at the end was a nice wrap up to a great day. Highly recommend!
e.Me and my bf had a great time with Alex and Wayne. Very knowledgeable and patient. Had an amazing experience. And the free pictures which the took for us on their camera is just a bonus. Between jumping, abseiling and sliding you will get your adrenaline fill!!! The scenery was gorgeous too. No better way to appreciate a waterfall than go down through it! 😂

D.Craziest experience of my life! I'm so glad I pushed through, no matter how intimidating it was at times. Russ and Gareth were so fun, motivating, and supportive. They understood my limits when it came to jumps, and were so patient during the times I was nervous or slower. I will never forget this trip! Thank you so much for the thrill and for showing me the beauty and history of the Sleeping God Canyon.
K.Sleeping God Canyon is beyond amazing and the best experience of our lives so far! so much fun and adventure packed in one day you’ve got to try it to fully experience it - abseiling from waterfalls as high as 80m, zip lining, natural water slides and cliff jumps. simply mind blowing and a memorable experience. initially i intended to skip it while my boyfriend did the full day adventure by himself (i’m afraid of heights) but i’m sooo glad i decided to go instead!!! our guide Wayne is super sincere, fun and nice and you’ll definitely have a good time. canyoning can be real tricky but you’ll feel like you’re in safe hands to step out of your comfort zone like i did. no regrets, totally worth it!! thank you Wayne and Russ for your patience and the awesome time! all the best guys, x
D.A friend of mine was visiting from the states, and over the course of the week we hiked in Coromandel, did the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, white water rafted, Zorbed, fly fished, kayaked, and bungy jumped. At the end of the week neither of us had any question about our favorite activity--hands down, canyoning with the CanyoNZ boys was it.
As others have said, the guides make the day. Both were pleasant as could be, and worked themselves ragged to see to it that we were safe, comfortable, well fed, and having a great time. This full day of adventure would be a bargain at a much higher price, and the fact that you're fed twice and go home with excellent quality pictures at no extra cost makes it all the more impressive. The gear was outstanding and clearly in excellent repair, the food was fantastic, and the day was a total highlight.
Don't be daunted! If you have a reasonable degree of physical fitness (could you run a mile if you had to? Not fast, but could you make it?) then put this at the top of your list. Our guides Russ and Nick were great about catering the experience to the capacity of each individual.
And a word about the jumps--I watched the videos they had online and thought to myself "well, I'll do the rest, but no way I'm doing that crazy high jump". The day proceeds in a very stepwise fashion to the point that by the time it came for the biggest jump, it was super exciting, but I felt totally ready. It was an exhilarating experience to get through and by the end of the day you really feel you've done something.
Do it! It's worth the price!

You get all the canyoning drama - abseils, ziplines, jumps and rock slides (9 drops, 300 vertical metres) - plus it's all set in the most stunning piece of natural New Zealand, a steep forest-filled valley of sheer waterfalls, bluffs and pools, in the heart of Coromandel Forest Park. You'll be in here with just your group, no crowded tourist spot this. PLUS you get the professional, attentive, supportive help of guides Wayne and Russ. Did I say professional? In this kind of thing your life depends on the professionalism of your guides and Russ and Wayne rate up there among the best in New Zealand. Checking and double checking quality ropes and carabiners, alert and quietly supportive as well as fun to be with. (When Wayne says look at those pigs up there, you have to look for them. Really.) Every abseil is different. All of them are scenically stunning. We also learned about the Maori and more recent gold mining and kauri logging history here. The huge day comes to a delightful finale when the (multi-tasking) boys host you to a bbq and drinks, along with a slide show of the day's action, already loaded on the laptop. No mass tourism product here. And later that night all the trip photos arrived in my email, at no add-on cost! If you're fit enough to go tramping uphill for a few hours then take the challenge, it'll be one of the best things you've done.
J.My girlfriend and I went on this trip a week ago. Absiloutly amazing! Seems a bit pricey at first but worth every penny. Felt safe, totally relaxed, good communication when we had to change the day because of the weather would defo recomend !
