Fabulous staff who entertained the teenagers that I was with. It's a brilliant little museum just the right size... not overwhelming. AND its sorted into centers of interest that allow for different preferences. The polio vaccine exhibit was incredible to compare with current days.
10/10 for Every bit of this fab museum !

Small museum buy lots of interesting items in it. There was also a short slideshow on the are. $5 entry fee per adult which is very reasonable. Beautiful wooden replics of old buildings of Thames

What an incredible collection of Thames History. Some of these artifacts are hands on as well. Favorite of mine was the horse drawn carriage. Met two amazing ladies that work there too. Totally a must do.

Good display of things about the homes in Thames. Not dissimilar to home in other places of those times in Nz. Was a good place on a wet day. Good selections of the mining photos

An awesome historical experience of Thames and surrounding areas. Thankyou to the chap who gave me a guided tour. So much to see and take in so will definitely visit again when I have more time.

Very helpful guides and an interesting range of displays about the areas history. It is great to see what has been established in the museum collection through the care and effort of a largely volunteer based group.
R. K.
Interesting exhibits, passionate volunteer. Some of the information about thames history could be updated, (hasn't been since the late 90s) otherwise excellent.

Great place for those who love history. Friendly staff and well maintained.

Anyone into history will love this museum. Recent additions as part of the TV makeover were great. Helpful staff and eftpos available. A small store of items for purchase in the foyer. Some additional items for purchase would improve appeal and more displays or interactive sections.

This is a lovely little museum that, like the town itself, has more than meets the eye. If you are spending time in Thames, make sure to drop by here to learn a bit about the town and it's history.

Such a great little museum. Wasn't expecting it to have alot of the stuff it did. We will be bringing back our family to enjoy aswell. Worth the $5 entry fee.

Like so many small rural NZ towns, Thames and its Museum hold a special place in the modern development of NZ. Give yourself 1.5-2 hours to take in the industry and history of the town, and the photos of the many young Thames men lost in the World Wars. It's a gentle, thoughtful museum.
