Special place, this is the 3rd year I've been during autumn to see the monach butterflies and enjoy the beautiful gardens & sculptures. Love the Time Bomb. Staff as always very friendly and welcoming. Remember the butterflies are high up in the tree.

Free admission, amazing artwork and dedicated staff come together to make an exciting and intimate gallery experience. Dont hesitate to brong your children on a rainy day with fun activities and free stickers as well!

Charming little gallery with a pretty large outdoor section of sculptures. Unfortunately no gift shop, would have loved to buy some of the paintings as a postcard..

Always a pleasurable experience visiting the Aigantighe. The staff are ALL awesome and certainly know how to make people feel welcome and comfortable. And where do I start with compliments about the exhibitions, artist talks and other events? What a treasure of experiences are offered to us!

A great place to check out some stunning local art and also art from further afield. Free entry means it's great for those on a tight budget or even just pop in for a look to kill time.

Went to the Matariki lights, really great set up. Activity books were amazing for children of all ages. Staff were really nice and helpful.

Large part of building still closed due to earthquake damage review, so main collection not open to public.
Good time to see Monarch butterflies in garden

I went for my children to complete a holiday challenge. Its very small with no much to see but the woman was really helpful and very sweet. It has toilets in the building and rock art out the back which was very interesting to see.

Calming place. I like statue. I wish place is repair soon

Very helpful and friendly staff and enthusiastic staff. Coping well with ongoing structural issues. Perhaps put the donation box in a more prominent place. Sculpture trail and gardens are a tranqil place to relax and enjoy. More could be made of the outdoor space with addition of a cafe?outdoor teaching space for school children. Beautiful setting and gorgeous historic building.

For a town the size of timaru the art gallery should not be as good as it. The layout is delightfully welcoming, the art on display is a comes from a range of cultural backgrounds but the gallery puts a premium on local artist and gee whiz is there some talented artists in the South Canterbury region.
It's always worth a stop in to the Aigantighe

Amazing! A gallery that keeps on giving in a period environment with great gardens, seaview, and a 2 minute walk to caroline bay and CBS. Period house next door for sale. Looks like it should be part of gallery. If you're an artist or art buff might be a perfect purchase!

(Translated) 20191211 Elegant architecture and exquisite exhibits. The green outdoor garden is full of many sculptures. Under the blue sky and white clouds, it is more relaxed and comfortable. Free visit, worth visiting.
