Interesting books in the shop, rocks to touch, Maori and early settlers items, mounted animals and birds all tell the story of the inhabitants of the area. Tidy and well-lit, laid out in curves to draw the visitor onward. Plenty of visitors wandering through; children were enjoying a competition to find how many poppies were placed around the Museum

Everyone should go to see the Anne Frank display, she was an amazing girl who we should all know about.

Great place to bring children to learn about local and national heritage and history. Has many displays of flora, fauna and natural history. Small hunt quiz for children to interact with.

Very Welcoming. And amazing displays of indepth information on many historical events in New Zealand. So much to see and do to catch up on New Zealand, its history, and unbelievable sounding beauty unlike any other. Every hall has its element of surprise! And there are so many halls to experience different things! I love love love it! Best museums I've been to, even top my previous favourite: Seoul's museum! Continue to upkeep the whole thing because it was so much fun and resourceful to walk around in it.

(Translated) Free museum with many stuffed animals and insects but also various historical objects about life in NZ. You can do the museum at your own pace and there is some fun for the kids at the entrance if they are bustling. On peut faire le musée à son rythme et il y a quelques jeu pour les enfants à l'entrée si ils s'agitent.
