Reviews of Lake Wanaka Cruises

Our family was lucky enough to do this cruise while we were in Wanaka. From the start Tim made us all feel at home while sharing his knowledge of the area. The boat Dual Image was beautiful and the time out on the lake was surreal. The walk upon Mou Waho Island was easy for the whole family and seeing a lake upon a lake with snow capped mountains in the background is something that you have to experience yourselves – you wont be disappointed.

Midafternoon Cruise to Stevensons Island. Boat picks you up right on the foreshore. Using a ramp to board. Plenty of space to move around inside and outside. Great views from the front and the rear of the boat. Comfortable seats in the main cabin. This cruise is a bring your own but they do supply tea coffee and biscuits on the return voyage. Smooth sailing all the way. Very friendly and informative staff especially on the guided tour of the island. (See review of island). There is a toilet on board and also on the island.

The cabin is very welcoming as if it is your own luxurious yard, we only have 5 in the entire group. We went to the Ruby island. Totally worth it.

Enjoyed a wonderful cruise to Mou Waho island aboard the lovely catamaran Dual Image. Tim is a great skipper/host/guide. Worth every penny - the trip out there, the island, and the pool in the middle is not to be missed. Thoroughly recommend.

My family and I live in Wanaka, so decided to be tourists for an afternoon.
We absolutely loved our cruise.
The boat is very well kept, and appointed. The crew are knowledgeable, professional and really great at interacting with all the guests.
We would highly recommend going out on the lake with these guys.
We are looking forward to our next cruise.

Did the Stevensons Island cruise - 45 min out to the island, 40 minute walk, and 45 minutes back to the dock. Captain Tim and the Dual Image were great - small boat, which meant a small group (there were only 8 people in my tour). Very scenic boat ride and Tim provided great commentary during our walk up to the top of the island. On the way back, he even provided us with tea and biscuits! The timing of the tour meant that the sun was setting as we cruised back, which was very beautiful. Great value for the tour!

Thoroughly enjoyed our short trip today with Tim. We were unable to land at Ruby's Island due to the jetty being submerged so Tim took us on a longer cruise along the lake instead. Wonderful afternoon I just wish we'd had time here to take the longer cruise. Many thanks Tim. Recommended!

Took the trip out to Mao Waho island on a dismal looking day - Adams cheer and spirit more than made up for it as he welcomed us up to the captain's area to chat as we made our very smooth way over the water. On the island, he was knowledgable and talked to us about the history and conservation efforts, and as we hiked to the top he was quick to offer a hand for the rockier parts. The island was beautiful, but Adam really made the trip for us.

Great cruise out to Stevensons Island. Even on a windy day like today the catamaran guarantees a smooth, enjoyable sailing. Very comfortable boat and helpful staff. The guided walk to the lookout is a plus. There is water, hot drinks ans even cookies on the way back.
