Reviews of Rocky Mountain Lake Wanaka viewpoint
A. C.Shorter alternative than the Rocky Mountain Summit but provides views that are just as spectacular. From here you can see Lake Wanaka, Glendhu Bay, Hospital Flat, the Matukituki River mouth, Roy's Peak, Mou Tapu Island and The Peninsula.
Moderate walk with a little bit of a climb but well worth it for the views. Can be a bit slippery on frosty mornings and muddy after rain so wear appropriate footwear.

B. B.Easy hike/walk which can be done in sneakers. Worth it for the stunning view! Would hike again.

L. C.Fun hike up Rocky Mountain with great views of lake Wanaka. Take the east side route up and come down the west side. A small tricky section on the way up where it’s narrow. Otherwise an easy hike and took us a few hours.
