Reviews of Wanaka Lavender Farm
F.
This is the most beautiful farm, so much lavender, flowers, beautiful products, animals and Bees! So stunning, inviting and fun! Games to play and so many gardens to explore. Loved our time here. And the lavender and chocolate Ice cream was so delicious it was almost erotic! Gorgeous, affordable and a must visit!
D.
A neat and well looked after place to spend an hour or two. There are a variety of animals on the farm in enclosures too.
Entry fee was only $5 at the time we went and they’ve got tonnes of stuff in their shop - it smells amazing!
The cafe is super cute as well and they’ve for lavender sorbets and chocolates. Staff were friendly and helpful!
J.
Totally love this place! Such a beautiful place to visit, spent a good couple of hours there with our 3yr old. Lavender honey is delicious! Lavender ice cream yummy and lavender macrons ‘oh my lord! Delicious’
A.
Such a beautiful, thought through, well look after farm. You can see how much labour and love been poured into it. So many great spots for the photos, relaxing smell and cute animals. We spent 3 hours there and could not get enough. Thank you!
M.
Well worth a visit. A very lovely property with so many gorgeous flowers. They even had animals. The lavender chocolate ice cream was good! It was better than the lavender honey.
E.
A well designed and maintained farm. Absolutely stunning view during the lavender season. Also it's an ideal place for family picnic while kids can enjoy themselves playing the outdoors games on site. There are plenty of lavender products in the shop. The lavender ice cream is definitely something special and unique, while it's just not for everyone...in my case I had to finish another lavender chocolate ice cream as my boy 9+ pretty much gave it up after one bite. I guess the lavender flavor was too much for him and even a bit for me after I finished two (small) cups... Nevertheless, highly recommended.
L.
Well done on maximizing the lovely grounds and making it so fun and engaging. From the little mazes of lavender, the lavender door and places for kids to explore it all really made for a great experience. The ice creams are just what you want on a hot day and the gift shop has a great range.
J.
Great value for money, may be more suitable for females or men wanting to buy their loved one a pressie as has all the hand creams, oils, pamper stuff etc. Gardens are prestine, staff friendly, and the honey/lavender ice cream was nice. Lavender honey worth a try. Thanks to the morning show as I would not have gone if I had not seen it on their breakfast show.
A.
Beautiful lavender garden. 10$ per head and 5$ for kids. (5-15) however for the size it is overpriced. Shd b more like 5$ . Takes one about 10-15 mins to go thru this. There is a small cafe and charges 4.5$ for tea and 9$ for. A small 50 ml ice cream costs 5$. Not much else available.
A few random pics.
A.
Wanaka Lavender Farm is Simply Stunning! Beautifully presented gardens and paddocks and paddocks of delicious lavender! Smells of lavender are Devine! Gorgeous farm animals, wonderful shop and cafe! A must stop and see!
A.
Beautiful gardens with lavender in flower it smells divine. Nice place to stretch the legs and kids can burn some energy. Animal area too.
L.
What a lovely place! We didn't do the farm tour, but we spent a good amount of time in the shop and tried the teas (one changed colour when you put lemon into it) and scones in the cafe. Lovely staff, very friendly :)
J.
It is a beautiful little lavender farm. The entry is 10$ per adult. We took our time walking through and it was worth it.
K.
Absolutely loved the farm/fields.
There is an entry fee (about 10$ if I remember correctly). You can explore for how much ever time you want. They even sell lavender goods including lavender flavored ice cream!
It is also a lovely place to get new photos for your Instagram! Highly recommend visiting this place if your in Queenstown and need something to check out.
A.
Must visit place in Wanaka. You can buy lavender 💜 products there and also can enjoy ice-cream with your family.
D.
Wow, what can I say about this beautiful place. It is one of several Lavender Farms around New Zealand and as I have only been to this one so far, I can't say it's the best in the country, but I can say I absolutely loved it. If you love Lavender ( many different types, sizes, colours) and other flowers, you will love going here. Bees and butterflies everywhere. Many fields to explore with added photo opportunities, a purple tractor, a Lavender coloured door, animals, other purple things placed around, lovely gardens and trees. As a passionate Photographer, I took many, many shots, of Lavender, other flowers, bees and people amongst the lavender. Also a shop with a variety of Lavender products and a Tea Shop where you can get Lavender Teas, Ice cream and chocolate bars. I expect there will be times when the Farm is not open so would pay to check the website for those details.
O.
The whole farm is so beautiful with lavender, flowers and animals. Great experience
k.
A lovely place to visit .Items very reasonably priced and the only staff member was friendly and doing a good job as she was on her own.Added another interest with the animals.
S.
For something a little bit different the Wanaka Lavender Farm is well worth a visit. It's just a few minutes up the road from Wanaka and has a $10 entry fee. Its wide array of eclectic and sculpted gardens provide a calm oasis and yes of course there's lavender...lots of lavender. If you have a phobia about bees you might want to pass on this one - there's thousands of them depending on what time of year you're there. There's also a cafe and gift shop selling various lavender products - honey, oils, soaps and even ice cream.
D.
Beautiful place. Must visit place in wanaka. They have got everything for all age groups. Kids friendly .
L.
Beautiful place, so peaceful to walk around
C.
Such a beautiful place - a little bit of "France" in Wanaka. Try the lavender honey and ice cream. Delicious!
L.
One of my favorite places in Wanaka! 😍 The Lavender farm is must-see for everyone. You can pet the lovely animals, walk through the beautiful gardens and see the gorgeous lavender fields in summer. Purple heaven, and the smell!! They have a great selection of products and gifts in the store, from essential oils to soaps and much more. You can also grab a lavender ice-cream or teas and enjoy them in the garden. Highly recommend checking it out :)
F.
Went there in January. The entrance fees is well worth it compare to other lavender farms. There is various spots for photos and resting. Can spend the whole afternoon there if there is more time.
S.
Wonderful place to get lost in for an hour or two. Gotta check the seasons though. You might not get to see the lavender blooming. They do have a great shop with natural products.
D.
Enjoyable visit even tho most of lavender had finished flowering could still smell lavender. A few games to play walk thru the purple door 🙂 animal farm. And heaps in the shop
I.
Such an unexpected surprise! Gorgeous, super tidy farm, beautiful rows of lavander, farm animals with little facts, beautiful flowers and unexpected decorations and sculptures . The shop is fantastic also and very reasonably priced, so a great opportunity to get a more unique, locally made present for someone.
S.
$5.00 ENTRY well worth it... the whole farm is beautiful even when the Lavender has been picked... The animals make it interactive and the store very reasonably priced.
S.
Loved it! So many bees and so much lavender. The place was so we'll maintained. Had a great time exploring not just the lavender but the herb gardens. Make sure to buy some honey as the bees look like very happy bees.
Plenty of photo places
B.
Love this place. Such a reasonably priced experience. Ice cream delicious too
R.
Absolutely amazing, so glad we stopped here. The the lavender farm and accompanying gardens are simply stunning. The morning tea in the garden afterwards was lovely within the serene surroundings.
M.
Gorgeous lavender farm, was a shame that when we went there was no lavender growing haha! Cute petting animals and lovely gardens to view which was nice. Entry was only like $5 or $10 which was not bad.
C.
Great place. Wonderful people and the lavender is so beautiful in full bloom.
T.
The Gardens are just Beautiful.A lovely walk around .. with some farm animals to see as well..A cafe plus a beautiful gift shop too with many things made with Lavender of course 🥰 A great family day out
J.
Beautiful gardens with gorgeous outlook. Little tea shop onsite with gift area. Farm animals can be viewed from the gardens, most are friendly and can be safely petted.
H.
A very very big farm with quite a lot to see!!! Really enjoyed my experience and our only regret is arriving 45 minutes before closing! We managed to try the ice creams (manuka and lavender was the crowd favorite among my family members). Definitely recommend stopping by when in Wanaka!! The shop also has amazing lavender products that make perfect gifts.
P.
Tea and service is exceptional. Very relaxing!
b.
Great experience with kids. They have Italian chocolate to drink which is a must have.
C.
Really gorgeous lavender farm, if you're into lavender your going to love it. Plenty of parking. Unfortunately we were off season and no lavender in bloom, need to return.
F.
I visited it in a nearly end season. But still feel it is worth to visit. (only $10 per person)
Only far from Wanaka town
It has heaps of beautiful flowers there. Not only lavender.
The Cafe is very cute too
D.
Fun place to visit. Must do in Wanaka.
S.
I visited Wanaka Lavender Farm with my daughter in January 2017. It was the most charming place and I could have spent the whole day there. It was very clean and tidy and the lavender was in full bloom. There is a $2 donation box at the entrance to the gardens, we paid but some just walked in without donating.
It was an overcast day with a gentle breeze and smell of the lavender was just lovely. The rose gardens were very nice too...lots of colour.
There's a beautiful little shop with a cafe. They don't mind if you take photos inside but polite to ask first.
All the staff were willing to chat and are very passionate and knowledgeable about their products. I will definitely go there again on my next visit to NZ.
S.
Visited on a wet wet day couldnt see anything but in store beautiful lovely lavender tea travelled a long way because saw this on country calander bought a few things would have bought more ( had the money to spend) but even though we were the only ones in store they didnt seem enthusiastic about promoting maybe it was a bad day everyone experiencing this! Maybe go to Mishas wine tasting in Cromwell she knows how to promote her product she is the sales person we spent far more than we were meant to but truly alot to learn from her thank you for the small experience anyway! Beautiful place can see the hard work you have put in!!
R.
Beautiful gardens with cute animals. Lovely little shop. Only some of the lavender has started to flower since it's still early in the season (mid Nov)
F.
I was a bit indecisive between choosing to visit this lavender farm and the one in mt cook. Very glad ended up choosing this one.
With only 5$ entry ticket (off season), you can stroll around a very large farm, plenty of things to do and animals are well taken care of. Ticket would be 10$ when the lavender is in full bloom (dec - feb).
But we still loved it anyway eventhough its off peak! Plenty of rows of lavender still in bloom, not many people, we've got the place just to ourselves for a good 1-2 hours! Could imagine the wonderful rows of lavender when it was in full bloom.
A.
Great value for money especially if you want to take the photos for the "gram" has some farm animals and their lavender shop is very nice. You can even check out their website to see the product.
L.
Amazing Farm to visit. Not just to see the lavender but also the animals for the kids!! Very well laid out and easy to walk through. So many amazing products to buy too!!! Worth the trip.
N.
Such an amazing place of everything lavender and beautiful presentation of everything in the shop and cafe. Absolute 5 star.
z.
unfortunately we visited at the third week of November and lavender bloomed only one plot but it was so beautiful. The animal farm is very good for kids. You can buy lavender products at the shop.
P.
Very nice and beautiful lavender farm, the cafe and gift shop has a very zen atmosphere. They sell high quality product for a reasonable price. You don't have to pay to view it however you do have to pay to go inside it. 10 dollars for adult and 5 for child. Good place to get lavender gifts, honey and much more.
E.
Oh my god. This was a dream come true. A dream that I never knew I had! Haha!
This lavender farm was covered in fresh, natural lavender fragrance, and filled with beautifully grown lavender (along with some other plants). It is as amazing as you see in the pictures. I could easily spend an afternoon here. Such a refreshing, relaxing experience. Loved it! Would absolutely love to come back!
K.
You can't go wrong with visiting this place! It was well worth going and it had an affordable price tag of $5. There was plenty to look at and the lavenders were ever so pretty to look at. Their was also a few lawn games spread through out to play which I thought was amazing. An added bonus is the animals. Their was alpacas , ponies, chickens and cows. Such a fun place for all ages. The only thing they didn't have much was a variety of food unless you wanted something with lavender in it. Take extra money with you as they have a gift shop with all sorts of goodies.
A.
So cute! Friendly staff, super cheap entry to see the gardens. Gardens are lovely, there are some animals to see and the mini pony even let's you pat him! There is a shop with all things lavendar. Tea and limited food available. Great stop on the way into Wanaka.
M.
Went during an off season which was cheaper but the views were not truely gorgeous compare to blooming season.
L.
Lovely place to visit even in the winter!
We had fun walking the farm and seeing all the animals. Also enjoyed the garden games and our mini photo shoot with the lavender door ☺️
The gift shoppe is full of lavender products and there is a cozy cafe with wood burning stove perfect on the blustery day we visited.
The cafe has a limited menu, no food just drinks and ice cream, but we enjoyed the lavender hot cocoa 💜
A.
Absolutely stunning farm full of beautiful flowers in blossom, heaps of lavender fields and also animals like alpacas, sheeps, donkeys and horses. Everything amazingly tidy. The entrance fee 5 NZD pp is really nothing and should be higher for the effort the owners must give to keep the farm look like this. Amazing experience. And definitely try their home made ice cream with lavender!! ❤️❤️❤️
F.
Gorgeous lavender farm, worth the $10 entry. Shop and cafe selling lavender treats and lavender ice cream was very cute. Loved wandering amongst the lavender fields and farm animals.
k.
Amazing landscape, beautiful flower gardens and farm animals. Great experience being here and the gift shop has plenty of lavender products and honey for your shopping cart.
W.
A really good experience near Wanaka. Farm tour is perfect for kids with sheep, ponies, a pig, llamas and 2 Scottish highland cows. You can pay 2 dollars to feed the sheep and llamas.
The tearoom is also perfect for having a cup of lavender tea. Gift shop is nicely furnished with divisions between lavendar and honey. If you have an hour to spare, well worth the 10minutes drive from the city center
D.
A good place conveniently located from Wanaka and Lake Havea. You can not only see different verities of lavender flowers but also can buy various things made of lavender such as oil, ice cream, honey and so on. A nice relaxing place to spend a few hours.
B.
Visited at the end of March. Loved it. Beautiful. Well worth a visit. Definitely come back again during another season.
J.
Visited in mid August and it was such a lovely place! Only need 45 mins to 1 hour to see all the farm animals, feed alpacas, and go to the gift shop/tea room. Highly recommend!
M.
Lovely little lavender farm with a nice shop to buy lavender products, honey, tea, gift books. You can also smell lovely roses in the garden and meet some cute animals like ponies, alpaca etc.
A.
Lovely relaxing place for a stop. Small $2 fee to walk through the gardens and see their alpacas and baby lamb. Didn't eat at their cafe as we'd just had breakfast but it's gorgeous, open and airy. Gift shop sells lavender everything (oils, creams, candles) and local NZ products like honeys and crafts.
A.
A beautiful experience. The farm is really well maintained. Everything is lavender theme based. A nice place for family and older people too.
M.
Such a sweet place. Feeding animals was a bonus, especially the baby goats.
P.
Lovely farm located on the edge of Wanaka township. Provides not only lavender gardens but also broader variety of garden flora all neatly organized with attention to detail and there are some animals here too. Very suitable for families with kids and definetely worth visiting.
P.
Love this farm so much. Cute animals, pony, pig, alpaka, sheeps, chicken, Scottish cow.
Recommend to visit, it's take time only 1- 1.5 hour for complete tour by yourself. Nice items in souvenia shop.
C.
A must-go for animal lovers! Paid an entrance fees of $10 to enter the farm to enjoy the view of lavender farm and to see the animals (pony, donkey, sheep, chicken, alpaca etc). Some of the animals were very friendly, they would come to you and allow you to touch them! There is this one sheep that keep calling out, as if looking for attention and will come to you to let you pet it.
For those that do not wish to pay to enter. There is a shop and cafe available that is free to enter. You can enjoy the farm from afar and enjoy their ice cream!
S.
Really cute animals, especially the goats and the alpacas! The sheep are also very nice and gives you the possibility of cuddling them. Really beautiful fields of lavender, and a lot of other herbs and flowers.
Q.
Did not visit the farm itself.
The gift shop is well stocked with all things Lavender. They also have a decent honey section (including Lavender honey which was interesting). The Lavender ice cream had an interesting taste to it so give it a go if you're there.
E.
Awesome place to see lavender.
It's good to check before visiting here whether all lavenders are bloom or not😆
S.
Unique farm like experience just outside the Wanaka city center! You can easily spend one to two hours there ..or even more... There is honey tasting as well and you can buy a couple of souvenirs.
G.
The Wanaka Lavender Farm is filled with a heady and heavenly aroma of Lavender! And the products they sell at the shop are a must to take home for friends and family! Honey, soaps, rubs, moisturizers, creams, kitchen nick-nacks, scented candles and Lavender flowers, Lavender beans...
R.
Great tea shop, very friendly staff and an awesome break from a long days travel
B.
Have fun and break here. Only pity is you cannot touch closer to their animals. Enjoy the lavender ice cream and some products on sale. Recommended.
J.
Loved it! Acres of beautiful lavender and bumble bees. Nice cafe, enjoyed a cup of Strawberry and Plum tea. A few farm animals to view.
B.
We visited a bit early to see the lavender in bloom but managed to sample some nice lavender products and also walk the animal farm which had a very nice group of alpacas 😍
N.
Very cute and inspiring lavender farm. Lovingly created and looked after. Best time to visit Dec- Jan to see the blue fields and anytime to see the beautiful garden.
W.
Good place to relax and have afternoon tea. Animals are a plus for families with children, along with the oversized games scattered around the farm
M.
We had a great time snapping away, surrounded by such beautiful scenery. Well worth a visit when traveling south!
N.
cool animals. Would have been better to visit when flowers are in bloom.
T.
Fantastic display of the different lavenders set in big beautiful park like gardens, great outdoor activities and educational experiences for kids, lots and lots to see and do cleverly designed and layed out good gift shop and cafe, minimum 1 hour needed.
H.
Visited the farm on Good Friday. Loved the farms, the animal interaction and all the products (especially the honey tasting, reasonable prices). Great staff - very informative regarding the local range. Highly recommend stopping here.
B.
Beautiful place. They have ice cream and tea for sale a long with beautiful lotions. It’s really inexpensive to just go in and look around. Smells amazing.
C.
Very beautiful & organised farm. Besides lavender, there are rosemary, roses, veggies, a few furry animals & honey farming. Spent 2 hr here, more than stipulated. 😬 And they forgot my ice cream, I forgot too.
M.
Beautiful farm with great staff. My kids loved feeding the animals. The cafe has great tea and honey

S.
Lavenders and lavenders everywhere of course but it is also a garden of flowers, berries, alpacas, sheep, pigs. There is a small entrance fee but as it is with most New Zealand attractions, you can take your time to enjoy and soak yourself in the surroundings and maybe purchase some lavender product from the shop after.
M.
Such a cute and quaint little lavender farm. There are so many things to see here from lavender fields with a purple door, roses, oak trees, sunflowers, bee hives, sheep and other animals. The gift shop smells wonderful and there is a large selection of lavender products. The purple hand soap smells amazing and is a beautiful color! There are wool dryer balls, paleo vegan cookbooks, vegan lavender deodorant, essential oils, lavender itself, soaps, and many other things. So nice to meet one of the owners who is from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada! There is a tea section as well that we did not go into if you are into that! Truly a beautiful spot worth a stop.
p.
You have to be there once to smell the original lavender. It is much richer than the aroma of lavender oil or perfumes you get in shops.
T.
Amazing place lived it highly recommended
A.
Lavender farm was really cool, loved walking out in the garden, seeing the animals and taking photos. Nice touch with all the games around outside too

N.
Unique lavendar farm with farm animals encounter. Entry ticket is $10 adult/$5 child. Delicious lavendar icecream, honey and honey/lavendar products.
g.
The $5 entry fee is extremely worth it - large farm with wide open fields of lavender, small gardens with large variety of flowers and many types of animals to feed and pet - alpacas, sheep, ponies etc. PRO TIP: Many bees flying around, got stung once and had to put some lavender essential oil. Beautiful place!
S.

D.
If you love bees & Lavander, it's a must stop. Don't forget your camera. Also a great range of honey for sale.

Herbal garden and rose gardens. Games for kids throughout the farm to keep little ones entertained. $5 per entry for adult, kids under 5 are free.
J.
Have been wanting to visit this beautiful place for ages, wonderful lavender gardens and shop. Loved it.
G.
Visiting the Lavender Farm had been on my bucket list for awhile and I was by no means disappointed. The Gardens were much bigger than I had imagined from the view you get from the main road. Three generations all enjoyed all aspects of the visit. The flavoured ice cream was yummy
J.
Spectacular lavender farm set over a large area. They also have farm animals and cafe
K.
Great place to visit, awesome for kids too.
Enjoyed the lavender and the farm experience :)
G.
Price was a little too high ($10 per person) for just viewing the garden. It’s still super pretty and I enjoyed the view and all the lavender around me. Many products in their shop. The tea towel is cute and the lip balm is really good.
They also have different animals there and a tea room
R.

Beautiful farm to visit even in winter when the lavender is not in season. The animals were happy and well looked after. I would give 5 star but unfortunately the staff inside the cafe and shop were not very welcoming or friendly.
A.
Beautiful spot to visit. Loved seeing the animals and feeding them. The highland cows were my favourite!
A.
Not a fan of Lavender however a great farm and experience
S.
Beautiful views. And many cute animals (Alpaca, Sheep, Pig, Yak, Pony).
L.
Great experience even though lavender colours not around this time of year, it still has its smell. The winter hot chocolate with lavender was amazing. Would go back.
R.
Must visit while you are in Wanaka. Lots of tame animals and of course the smell of lavender
T.
Worth a visit. Got some lavender massage balm. Really good.
P.
Well worth the trip and a magical place of purple and honey
T.
Doesn't open during winter time. We were lucky enough to be there during close-to-winter time and yet, the owner is just happened to be there. Thus he let us, and a few more visitors went in. Nice gesture ~ the place is cosy. Good place to buy lavender stuff and manuka honey. The honey is a must buy.
M.
A glorious garden and farm experience... Full of life, colour, and beautiful scents. Lovely spots to sit and just enjoy the beauty and tranquility, or play a game of pétanque, giant checkers, giant <insert wood stacking game name here>, or giant naughts and crosses. Wonderfully kept gardens, a wide range of stunning photo opportunities, and a great selection of very friendly animals to visit with. Oh, and a cafe we didn't have enough time to take advantage of. We'll just have to make another visit soon!
K.
Cool spot! We came off season so there was no lavender but the shop and cafe are great. Make sure to get some lavender ice cream!
h.
Best day of our holiday in Queenstown and Wanamaker, well designed layout, beautiful lavenders and also other flowers.
Garden games here and there for kids to play, different farm animals to see , feed and feel.
Love it and can’t recommend more.
Easily spent 2-3 hours there.
A.
Really enjoyable the lavender has been cut but you could still smell it when you walked past it. The animals were cute. Nice things to purchase in the store.
A.
Cool place to visit. As soon as you walk in the door the aroma of lavender makes you feel calm and relaxed. Then a visit with the farm animals is an added bonus.
S.
By the grace of God almighty I would Love to visit this farm someday.looks so good in the pictures.
N.
Beatiful place to relax and take pictures. Rose garden and animals make it even better.
J.
Lovely place to visit, something for the whole family to enjoy
S.
Lovely place to spend a few hours walking around the farm
B.
Family run business with heart and soul. Fun for everyone with gardens, animals and of course lavender! Cute shop with lots of lavender products and honey.
W.
Small entrance fee of $5 if you wish to roam the farm grounds. great delicious lavender ice cream at the café!
A.
Lovely gardens and views of the surrounding mountains. Very relaxing.
R.
Its just simply a WAO... except prices of products are little bit on higher side, rest is amazing experience.
c.
Super nice smelly place. Good number of farm animals to interact with. Ice cream is good!
T.
Definitely a highlight of our trip down south. A must visit, awesome place!
D.
Beautiful place with lots of lavender, flowers, bees, trees. The animals also looked really cute as well.
K.
Awesome morning out here. Lovely gardens and even though the main event weren't yet in flower, it's still definitely worth a visit. Farm animals to visit (very friendly goats and sheep!) and gorgeous products in the shop to indulge in.
C.
Beautiful visit on a lovely summer day, lots of lavenders and friendly animals to look at and take photos of. Ice creams were delicious and the shop has many different lavender items for purchase. Save the bees! 🐝
B.
Beautiful quaint little place. Lovely products. Honey, ice cream, body creams. You have to try it all.
S.
Very beautiful place, with a good mix of flowers and animals to keep children entertained.
A.
Entry has gone up but still cheap. Nice picnic spot.
S.
Beautiful garden and lavender products, and cafe.
I really enjoyed lavender manuka honey ice cream and tea at the garden :)
Worth to visit.
N.
Beautiful place with lavenders and cute animals
J.
Wonderful little farm, worth the $5 entry to enter
J.
Good place to visit if you like animals. Small size lavender farm but well designed. Photo spot was good with the door standing in the middle of lavender farm. Other good photo spots exist within the farm. Took about 1 hr to walk around. When flowers bloom the place will be much nicer. We visited in November and there weren't much flowers.
Honey and honey products are sold here. Lotions are expensive but shampoo is reasonably priced. Soaps and other herb products were also good. Staffs are friendly. The entrance fee to the lavender garden was 10? 15?? NZD per person.
S.
A great walk through their beautiful gardens. Well done, would highly recommend!
r.
Okayish experience. Can be done one time if you like Farms and lavender.
K.
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous! Immaculate kept lavender farm with amazing flower gardens. Everything purple - purple door, purple tractor, purple jandels...... just gorgeous. A real credit to the owners. A must see.
d.
It was so refreshing being here. Perfectly picturesque experience. Fresh tall lavender farm with some animals around. The entry ticket price is 10$ which is quite reasonable. They also sell lavender products which are also decently priced. Thr is a cute little cafe which has options like lavender ice cream, tea, pie and few other things.
L.
We went on the 22nd of October and while the lavender wasn't in bloom, the place was still lovely with flowers and many friendly farm animals to say hello to. We also tasted the delicious honey and enjoyed the fudge and manuka - lavender icecream. A great place to relax and have a chill time.
L.
Adorable place! Cute animals, beautiful honey and lavender
B.
Beautiful lavender farm. Had a lovely stroll taking in the views and the relaxed animals. Bought a few lavender infused creams and tried some lavender honey ice cream.
L.
LOVED this place! We might have visited on a rainy day but it was still beautiful (quieter too!). All the staff extremely friendly and know their stuff. The farm animals are well looked after and there are plenty of busy bees around the place. Nice to see they haven't gone over the top with instagram accessories and props too like some other lavender farms
R.
Perfect afternoon stop! The cafe has a lovely assortment of lavender treats and the beautiful farm is available to all those who pay a $10 cover. Worth the cover! You can spend hours roaming and relaxing in the gardens. Petting the adorable farm animals is an awesome bonus!
K.
This was one of my favourite places to visit in the South Island. It is gorgeous. We also tried the lavender flavoured ice cream. :)
H.
It was very fun there, but the reason I chose 4 stars is because it was very sunny and when I finished the tour I saw that there were umbrellas for free to use but the umbrellas weren’t out in the open. I noticed that there were a lot of bees and I think that’s nice but for me I don’t really like bees so I couldn’t take photos there. The maps weren’t very clear.
A.
Cute place, our little one loved all the animals you can feed/get close to and the Mrs bought some lavender products at the gift shop.
S.
Very nice and well kept, functioning farm. Plenty of animals around in paddocks with lots of beautiful sites. Everywhere you walk is filled with the smell from the lavender bushes. Lovely little gift shop and ice cream parlour that sells lavender flavoured ice cream.
S.
This beautiful farm and shop/café is a fab way to while away a few hours. Pigs, Shetland ponies, goats, highland cattle, lambs and alpacas all within scratching distance. Fantastic gift shop with well priced farm-made produce. Cheap entry ($5adult $2 Child (free under 5s) as of Oct 2020. Highly recommended 5 stars for sure
L.
Very beautiful place. Flowers are gorgeous, and the animals are cute. The farm is not over crowded. We had plenty of opportunities to take pictures everywhere around the farm. A romantic place to take your significant other; a tranquil place just to chill and relax. A must if you are around Wanaka.
O.
Awesome place to visit with the family. Farm was full of different varieties of stunning Lavenders. Kids had plenty of field to enjoy and pet farm animals.Highly recommended this place and ticket price was reasonable
H.
fabulous..relax ,take time, enjoy. beautiful.
L.
This place is great fun for families with kids.
My son loved it and if you have sweet tooth- their Italian Chocolate is must :)
J.
Beautiful place - lots of shade for hot days in parts. Small number of animals for kids to look at too. Very nice gift shop (if you like lavender). We thought the cafe would serve normal style food, but note that it only has (lavender based) ice cream, and (lavender based) sweet treats - don't go there as we did, expecting to grab a sandwich etc.A gardener's paradise
M.
Too early for lavender, but the farm animals were worth seeing, lovely gift shop, staff were very friendly
J.
Amazing place.
Well kept immaculate and breath taking surroundings.
My 20 month old Son, loved it.
$10 for Adults is cheap in my opinion.
You spend a min of 30mins there, do the maths, thats like 3 cents a min. People complaining a just being stingy and ridiculous with pricing, probably want everything for free.
R.
Relaxing lovely gardens. Lots of animals good for kids. Awesome honey varieties and tasting (rata is definitely best). Good amount of parking and the fields themselves would be great in peak bloom
S.
TIP: a fantastic place to get good quality souvenirs. The best lavender farm in the country. Try a lavender truffle (it is crazy delicious!!!)
S.
Nice experience and not expensive to enter.
You can pet the ponies, alpaca, bison and sheep.
The farm is full of beautiful flowers and bees all around collecting nectar.
Lavender is the majority flower here and there are a lot of farm games and areas to sit and spend some time.
There's a shop which sells lavender products. You can use the testers and see for yourself. They also sell the local honey. Definitely worth the visit.
K.
Great for all ages & stages. Beautifully set out & relaxing gardens to wander through. Selection of cute animals adds to the attraction and the shop & cafe offer lovely gift ideas, yummy ice cream, honey etc.for return visits no matter what the season.
S.
Beautiful little spot. Loved the atmosphere and their shop/cafe.
L.
Beautiful farm to walk around when the lavender is in season (December). Great for families!
Bit of a shame they shut at 5 as there were many people still walking around who would have liked to stay a bit longer!
J.
Beautiful rustic farm, we loved our trip there, the smell was fantastic. Our kids had fun running through the gardens with so many varieties of plants. Lovely restoration of the farmhouse too. Definitely recommend to return
C.
We enjoyed our visit to Wanaka Lavender Farm and took about 1 hour and 15 minute to explore the estate. Entrance fee had been reduced to NZD 5.50 as a number of Lavender fields had been harvested already. However there was still plenty of photo ops and the lack in crowds made it way easier to get the perfect shot. We also liked the well manicured garden, the shop with homemade lavender products and the honey tasting station!
J.
Cute place for family. Kids will love the experience of feeding farm animals and alpaca. The whole place smells really good.
G.
Such a gorgeous place to visit. Was really cool seeing the different types of lavenders, as well as all the bees collecting the pollen from the lavender. It was truly a whimsical place. Shop sold some nice items which were good as souvenirs or for gifts. Quite pricey, but worth it!
D.
Great wee place. The farm, the lavender plots and the various animals there. Kunikuni pig, alpacas, goats, sheep and more was worth the walk with my grandson.
A.
Lovely little place. The animals are cute, you cannot touch them unless they come to you. After our visit, we were kind of lavender high
G.
Absolutely loved it here! I'm obsessed with the colour purple and this place is like a tribute to it! The fields are filled with various, gorgeous types of lavender and it's just stunning alongside the mountainous backdrop. You have to try the lavender ice cream! Let it melt a little for a stronger flavour. They have loads of things to try from moisturisers, honey to cookies and more! Wished I could have stayed longer. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff and a nice story about how this place started out. I'll be back someday!
Y.
Lovely place, really nice ice cream. Its easy to see the ladies who run it love what they do and have attention to detail
A.
Beautiful gardens with lots of different varieties of lavender and pretty good value for money. We went right before closing (4pm) so it wasn't too busy and could get photos without a heap of people in them!
S.
Cute baby chickens. A lovely day out and great to walk around. Loved the giant checkers/connect 4 games outside. Definitely worth the small $5 entry fee
J.
Nice place to visit. Great shop with a variety of items to purchase around lavender. We were a bit early in the season to see the flowers but its still worth a walk around.
c.
Great venue, well laid out and friendly staff. Family friendly
Y.
Awesome place, lovely ice cream
A.
It was a little remote but when you get there you'll be greeted by Lavenders left and right. It was decorated rather beautifully. The garden itself was calming. They have many animals that you can feed for a price. So it is suitable for children to play. We ate homemade lavender ice creams and it were refreshing. They sell many lavender based products and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
m.
The garden is very well maintain. There are many cute animals too. Good place to visit.
J.
One of the must visit places in south island New Zealand. This is a lavender farm that make lavender produce from essential oils, honeys, ice creams, soaps, and many more! You can try New Zealand's different kinds of honey's here for free, buy soft baked cookies, teas, and ice creams. On top of that, you can go and see the farm for $10 per person. You can see all their lavender plants and their different animals (sheep, alpacas, Scottish cows, and more). For sure gotta go visit!
L.
A nice place to stop by and relax while enjoying lavender ice cream. There is access to the lavender plants and garden which is very beautiful. We visited in November, so most of the lavender plants are not in bloom. I have never seen so many bees and bumble bees in one place! It is really amazing to be able to observe them flying around the flowers. The bees do not care about people, so it is pretty safe.
A.
A very well maintained garden. We went just before the full bloom but still managed to spend the morning exploring the gardens. Games and photo opportunities scattered throughout and a variety of farm animals as well. Family friendly. Highly recommended.
S.
Beautiful lavenders were in full bloom.
A.
What a beautiful place. Entering the farm is only $5 pp and you get to visit the lavender farm and the animals in it (pigs, ponys, donkeys, sheep, cows, alpacas). The decorations and touches in the shop and cafe space are just beautiful.
J.
Possibly the best lavender farm we've been to. The works!
L.
I love lavender, so when I discovered this lavender farm, I was in heaven! There is a $2 entrance fee to explore the gardens, which I highly recommend. I came just as they lavender was being harvested, so I did not get to see the rows of purple fields, but you could smell the freshly cut lavender throughout the grounds and it was absolutely sublime! There were beautiful flower gardens as well as a vegetable patch and some nicely shaded sitting areas in the gardens. There were also animals, but I didn’t get to see any of them as there was a school field trip that was occupying their attention.
There is a great café/gift shop that is just perfectly purple! They have teas, cakes, cookies, and ice cream, all infused w/lavender and honey from their hives on premise. I literally had one of everything! The lavender tea was great, especially w/the beautiful cake. The little purple tea pot and cute tea cup the tea was served in was such a nice little touch. The lavender and honey ice cream was delicious as were the lavender cookies.
The gift shop has so many options, but I love that they make all sorts of lavender infused personal care items. I bought some “gardener’s hand cream” that I am in love with because not only is the smell amazing, but it is some of the best hand lotion I have ever used! You pay a premium price, but you get a premium product! Definitely recommend stopping in and checking this fantastic place out!
K.
Nice to take a walk around the lavender fields.
L.
Beautiful lavender farm. Everything is set out nicely and there's even a cool purple door. Very friendly staff. Also, lots of giant bees. They don't harm you though, but there are lots of them.
E.
I loved this cute little farm and cafe. It smells so good when you walk in and everything I tried tasted amazing from their tea to their ice cream and their cookies. It's a great place to get useful souvenirs and nice to walk around and take a look. This was on of the highlights of my time spent in Wanaka.
H.
Very cute place. They've got some lovely lavender and honey based products too. However the lavender flowers aren't in bloom during late october.
Y.
I have been many lavender farm. It is the best view place.
B.
Quite pricey but did Shop there. Lovely garden
F.
Just a fantastic place to go and relax. So peaceful. We tried one of everything on offer from the food selection just because we couldn't decide and we were just blown away. Cake, chocolate, biscuit, ice cream, tea, everything made with love and full of lovely lavender flavour. We saw chickens, the pig, alpacas, yaks, and plenty of birds! Fair warning though, there are innumerable busy Bees doing their good work about the place but they don't bother you. Absolutely worth a visit for a peaceful step into tranquillity. Highly recommended.
A.
Very pretty. Just know that there are many bees here due to their bee farm in case you're deathly afraid of them. Otherwise, they don't mind your presence and won't sting you even if you go up to their hives. Their garden is big and beautiful and has great picture spots. It's family friendly, and there are big board games around the garden. You can also see sheep, horses, alpacas, and oxen.
P.
I would have rated 5 if the lavenders were in full bloom. Will come back again
L.
We went there on end of March, so not much lavender there. Their ponies were very friendly and cute. Llamas were busy sitting far away in the corner doing nothing. The cows turned their back against us. The pig is just lazy lying in the tree's shade and oink when touched. Lavender honey ice cream was good. Overall it's a great visit, but would be better during spring I think.
G.
Lovely little farm. Unfortunately the lavender season was over when we visted but it was still a pleasant experience. There are a bunch of things you can see around the farm and some cute animals. There're also a souvenir shop and a small cafe as well for those who needs a cup of tea after walking around the farm.
C.
A beautifully laid out lavender farm.
A.
Lovely place. Wondered through. The smells . Animals appeared very hot tho. Think they could have had more shade. I did buy quite a bit of balms etc as I love lavender
M.
only worth going when the lavender has grown. We went in october and there was no lavenders. Surely would be beautiful in summer though.
F.
Beautiful gardens, lavender not quite flowering but can imagine it would be a sea of purple in a few weeks time. Lovely little shop well worth a visit
T.
Beautiful farm with a variety of animals and flowers besides lavendera
M.
Beautiful landscape, large car park
M.
Visited out of season and still had lots of fun. Variant activities to do such as walking around, playing games, feeding animals and enjoying a herbal tea or exploring the shop.
M.
Its going into Autumn but still beautiful
R.
A spacious and wide lavender farm!
You can spot the place right away.
There are animals, photoshoot area, garden, cafe as additional!
Oh! The lavender essential oil here is the bomb! I bought one and use it for my tea or coffee!
C.
A nice place to visit. Flowers and animals are worthy for your time.
E.
We stopped here on our visit to Wanaka - what an awesome little spot - beautiful gardens, animals, games and things to keep kids busy. Staff were super friendly and the shop and cafe were lovely too!
t.
Well worth $5 to walk in the garden
S.
Fantastic gardens that are friendly for kids of all ages to run around and explore. We will definitely visit again.
G.
Incredible experience. My expectations were low and I was blown away! Thoroughly enjoyed the honey testing and made some small gift purchases that were loved!
e.
Wanaka Lavender Farm is an experience to enjoy a working lavender farm with farm animals, gift shop, honey shop, tearoom and display gardens.
My children are happy to play and learn.
T.
So purple everywhere, but watch out for bees inside lavender. Enjoy the smell of lavender with a cup of tea in the garden. They sell some products such as lip balm, soap, body lotion, oil, honey. Dont missed to interact with animals at there
L.
There wasn't many lavender left on the field because they harvested, I wasn't impressed for my first time visiting a lavender farm, It is not what I imagined. I had to cheated on the pictures to make it look like there was bunch of lavender. Although, there products are nice spent $66!!! There lol.
N.
Beautiful place with much more than just lavender.
Great cafe with ice cream.. Wish they served coffee😊.
Small set of farm animals so kids were happy.
A.
Awesome nice relaxing outing with kids having fun feeding the animals. Also the most amazing hot chocolates
j.
Went in winter - nice little Shop - smells lovely inside 🤗🤗 nice warm fire to get the chill of the day off. Would be a great summer place to visit. Bought a few items very nice 👍👍
P.
The sheep were amazing! The place smelled of lavender as soon as we stepped off our car! Lavender tea and ice cream could have been better.
H.
Beautiful shop with real lavender products no cheap imitations here.
J.
This was a great place to visit... Highly recomend
M.
Such a cute place! Beautiful scenery, lovely animals. Can feed the alpacas, amazing. Good tea and try the lavender cookies too! Def going back on a nice sunny day!
R.
Wanaka Levender Farm is a peaceful and restful place to visit. Remember to be prepared to spend a few dollars as they have more products than you can shake a stick at and the hospitality is blindingly good. Make tome for an enjoyable time out and go...
R.

A.
Amazing place. Just loved it. Will go back again soon.
N.
I am in love with this place. The animals are friendly, the farm is aromatic and their lavender cake is worth it. Just make sure you visit when the lavenders are in full bloom!
N.
The lavenders weren't bloomed yet so there's not much of lavender to see, but for the other attractions (flowers, veggies and the animals) are great! The entry fee is also cheap
D.
Had our wedding here 3 years ago, always make time to drop in whenever we are in the area. Such an amazing garden, please make sure that you check it out. The staff and owners are super friendly.
I.
Free for Kids, very cheap for Adults.
If you suffer from Hay-fever like I do, I would not recommend sitting inside at the cafe.
They dry the lavender inside from the ceiling beams. I had a massive headache after.
I highly recommend the Lavender Tea.
G.
A friend and I took our quite elderly neighbours to the Lavander Farm yesterday. They absolutely loved it. We got to feed the sheep 🐑 and see a bunch of different animals. Everyone left very happy! Thank you!
Y.
No blossoms in this time of the year. entrance fee. Tekapo has wild lavender and it was better than commercial place.. But enjoyed staying here. Bought a couple of flavoured honeys.
E.
Definitely worth a visit. Very picturesque and well maintained. This is the place to appreciate natural beauty of the area and capture some memories. The teas at the general store were awesome.
J.
Lovely little farm with lavender fields and lots of animals. Also has a nice gift shop and cafe. Worth a quick visit especially if you have young kids.
B.
A absolute beautiful place to visit!!!
C.
What a delightful place to wander around and relax in. The entry fee of $5 is fantastic. Take time to have a cup of tea and cake which is served in beautiful china cups. Lovely gift shop too.
W.
Nice place to explore the lavender farm and farm animals, although entry is not free. Good for children to visit. Good size cafe and shop for the adults to spend their time too.
J.
Great place to visit with children in Wanaka. The fany is large and still expanding. You can walk around and admire the lavender fields, watch farm animals and wonder around a flower garden. Afterwards you can relax in a bar eating some Manuka honey ice creams or drinking lavender tea. There is a store where you can buy many lavender-themed products including honey (there is also honey tasting available). The staff is very nice and we loved the small touches around the farm like velvet door, a velvet tractor or a velvet tie on a scarecrow.
L.
Absolutely awesome place to visit.
D.
Great and friendly staff. Amazing gardens, loved the honey and the tea. Also, great variety of lavender products. Really worth visiting.
J.
I loved our visit to the farm! $5 for adult entry. The gardens are beautiful and kids love the animals. The bocce ball court, tic tac toe, and giant connect four games are fun too

M.
Nice place. Wish we could hold the small animals
M.
Beautiful farm well worth the price of entry, enjoy a cup of tea in the gardens after a pleasant stroll.
D.
It is a huge farm. There is a vast plantation of lavenders. They also breed bees. They sell a lot of honey products and lavender dyed items. They also have alpacas, ponys, chickens, sheep and yak. It is a must visit if you are in wanaka. It had a very photogenic picturesque scenery. It takes roughly around 20-35 minutes.
S.
After a long and wet drive from Franz Josef the cute animals, log fire and lavender hot chocolate worked a treat. Beautiful and peaceful spot to spend an hour or two.

If you want a relaxing stop, with tea and gardens, this is the place. We got to feed the three week old lambs and walk around the lovely gardens. Every year they plant more so every year that goes by there will be more to see!
V.
Very enjoyable afternoon. My teenagers didnt think they would enjoy it, but actually did. The outlook is incredible.
D.
There’s a $10 entrance fee per adult which felt quite expensive to view the gardenZ You do get to experience the lavenders (not as much as I expected) and animals with nice photo spots so we had a good relaxing time there.
a.
Very nice place! Kids friendly! Some cute purple stuff to take photo with - tractor, door, bird house and few more! And very good honey!
C.
6th August 2018:
1. Wrong time to visit, all the lavenders are trimmed.
2. Chilled out with the animals but got snubbed by the fat pig called Koko.
3. Bought some bottles of honey and enjoyed the hospitality here.
S.
$5 entry to visit the beautiful garden/farm. Spent a little money to buy some honey, however, there are a number of different lavender products on sale.
E.
So cool that they have opened their farm for others to enjoy. Lovely place with enough activitys to keep you busy for a good couple of hours.
B.
Really lovely place. Beautiful gardens and some animals to entertain children. Not an all day kind of place but worthwhile for an hour or so

Good afternoon with the family. Good for kids in wanaka where not a ton for little ones
P.
It was very pretty but expensive to get in to look at flowers. The shop and restaurant were, I think, overpriced
S.
Absolutely loved the Lavender Farm. Very quaint English garden style. Kids loved the animals. Not expensive. Great family time.
V.
Elegant style farmhouse with neat rows of lavender and cute farm animals. Goats, Llamas, Donkeys and others. Ideal for kids under 12.
J.
Delightful place. In winter no lavender. So will have to go back
R.
Very friendly host. Beautiful farm and garden.
B.
Though there was no flowers blooming it’s a beautiful farm with many animals. To get a cup of tea and taste the honey there is so relaxing
A.
Lovely wandering around the beautiful gardens, after a refreshing morning tea. Highly recommended!

G.
Awesome place, great layout, a lot of care has been taken in maintaining this place. Great for tea and a stroll around the gardens. Great little shop.
R.
Very nice place with enough activities to keep the children busy.
N.
Was very disappointed not being able to have lunch & the Website we looked up before we left home said the cost for entry was $5 but when we arrived the cost was $10 don't think it was worth that because most or the lavender was cut
S.
Very beautiful place with cute animals
W.
Loved going there, we've been there 2 times, 1st time it took $2 for each, after 1 year, it became $5, not sure what price it is now. Beautiful place to take photos.
H.
We love this wanaka lavender farm. So much to do and see and spend. Highly recommended
S.
Good place to visit, and the gift shop on-site to browse and get some lavender beauty products. But it's a small farm.
3.

J.
Really nice day out, and lovely products, and lovely farm to walk around and meet the animals
