Loved this experience from start to end! Epic in every way and full of fun and thrills… The guides were super attentive and intuitive, knowing how best to support as well as affording the freedom to explore the waterfall and surrounds to the max! We did the Lord of Rungs - Level 3 with a chopper descent and it was both memorable and epic! Don’t hesitate - it’s one of my favourite experiences I’ve done in NZ!

One of NZ’s best one-day adventures, and great to have true via ferrata in Aotearoa at last! Incredible scenery, professional and helpful guide, felt really safe the whole time. These guys care about delivering a supreme experience for their customers.
Level 3 delivered all it promised (and more!). Even if you only do Level 2, it’s still an amazing experience.
There was only one short part I found technically hard and the guide talked me through what to do…and success!
Lovely ‘surprise’ at the lunch stop (shhhhhh! 🤫).
I slept like a log afterwards 😁. Recommend. A+
J.
Awesome experience and views. My wife and I went up to Level 2.
Brent was an excellent guide with great chat and all-round great guy to head up there with - we felt safe and had a great time.
I have a fear of heights / falling and I ended up loving it.
And the lunch was delicious!

This was an adrenaline filled climb. The views all the way to the top were awesome. Kate was our guide and she was incredible, very helpful and ensured we made it to the top of the climb drama free and she actually made it seem easy. And it was easy because she is awesome. This is a must do climb for everyone. Three stages of difficulty so it caters for everyone. We took it all the way for the Helicopter ride at the end. Absolutely incredible. This is the highlight of our stay in Wanaka and sets the bar for every other activity we do while we're here.
E.
What an amazing adventure..great guides, such a fab idea, really get into the waterfall and doing something different
M.
Fantastic experience, Mark created a fun and engaging experience while maintaining the strict safety standards required for new people engaging in outdoor rockclimbing. A beautiful location and highlight of my NZ trip.
T.
My wife and I did the Lord of the Rungs tour for her birthday. We have a great time. The guides were awesome and the climb itself was fantastic. No complaints about the helicopter ride down at the end!
J.
This was such a great experience and the highlight of my husband's and my holiday. Highly recommend. The guides were friendly, attentive, helpful, and gave us plenty of space to take pictures. They even showed us how to hang off the bridges for awesome pictures.
n.
This was one of the best things I've done in ages. Completely safe but exciting and challenging. The guides are professional and super friendly. I heartily recommend this. Stunning views, good people and a very memorable activity.
G.
Outstanding activity. Highly recommend if visiting the area! Of all the activities in the area, Wildwire is must do.
M.
Incredible experience! Lord of the rungs was one of the best things we've ever done as a family. While it was totally exhilarating and challenging in view of the mind-blowing height aspect, it felt absolutely safe the whole time. The guides were fantastic - clearly expert, but also really relaxed and encouraging. It was almost bizzare to feel comfortable hanging off a sheer cliff face beside a waterfall. We're all reasonably fit, but were also pleasantly surprised that it was physically easier than we'd expected climbing that height (ie we weren't puffed) - probably as we did it at a nice pace, taking in the breathtaking views over the valley and lake. The helicopter view on the way down was also a really fun blast at the end.
M.
Did the Wild Thing trip on a whim and it was so awesome! Ben was our main guide and he was so great! Always giving tips where to make things easier and also telling stories on our way up. Monica was also another guide on our trip with lots of experience! The views are unreal and I can only imagine how awesome the lord of the rungs would be if you're willing to spend the money. Would definitely recommend if you're in Wanaka.
S.
A mate and I booked in for WW during a motorbike trip earlier this month, I wasn't sure what quite to expect but honestly this is one of the coolest experiences! The whole team had us at ease with their professional but fun attitude...I was soon hanging off the a wire bridge with a big grin on my face. Thanks team, I've told everyone that if your going to be in Wanaka you've got to do Wild Wire!
B.
This is an awesome experience! Brilliant for families who want to do something that will challenge everyone. Mel was an excellent guide and the whole set up is top notch. We did level one which was perfect for our group and was a full morning experience by the time we left Wanaka and returned so the experience was great value.
D.
Awesome experience! Totally recommend it. 3 levels for different ability levels. three of us did level 2 and three did level 3. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The helicopter at the end of level 3 was amazing too. Our instructors (Connie and Maddy) were awesome and guided us expertly. We will be recommending this experience to all our family and friends and will see you guys again when we are in Wanaka next!
Q.
Incredible view and the greatest service. We are planning next time already
M.
An experience i'll never forget. I'm so proud of myself for facing my fears and climbing a waterfall! It made me feel so invigorated and lucky to be alive. Experiences truly are a bigger part of ourselves than our material goods!
T.
Fantastic day. 450m vertical via ferrata was just incredible - challenging, scenic, and very rewarding. Don’t be afraid - just do it and you’ll want to do it again. Great guides and whole team! Thank you.
M.
If you're going to do any tourist attraction in New Zealand, let this be it...seriously. One of the most memorable experiences, and at the top of the waterfall the views are breathtaking! Our guide, Laurel, was amazing too. 10/10.
T.
We went for wild thing which took around 4.5 hours. Overall a very good experience. Would recommend lotr if you can afford. The last leg of the hike looks to be more challenging and fun. The price put us off it but def worth it. Guides were friendly, informative and prepared. Would recommend a generous amount of sunscreen dependent on the skill level of the group. We were stuck at some places and it was burning.
A.
What a wonderful experience. Our guide, Hank, was so friendly, it was exhilarating listening to his soft Scottish accent as we put our lives into his rugged hands. Despite his vagrant appearance we were all pleasantly surprised by his odour, a very distinct aroma of pine tree. His trip-talk was extremely professional although nobody laughed at one of his dad-jokes (awkward). Despite it being a winter morning the warm weather made us all very sweaty, Hank encouraged us to lose layers so we could feel more at one with nature. Suddenly we were all down to our bare-bottom layers ascending the beautiful canyon under Hank's watchful eye. Can't recommend this experience enough- request Hank :)
R.
Wildwire Wanaka is a truly amazing experience. The climb is exciting, the views spectacular and the guides very professional and friendly. This is a day that our family will remember and treasure for the rest of our lives.
S.
I am struggling to find the words to explain how good this experience was. Amazing, awesome and the best don't seem to capture how cool this was. Wildwire were very professional in all areas such as safety, explanations and gear. The guides were amazing. I was lucky enough to do level 3. I loved it.
m.
This was such an incredible experience!!!! Was so much fun!! Felt super safe and such knowledgeable guides, Maddi was such an amazing guide and had such a good day out! Couldn’t recommend enough
T.
Pushed me way past my comfort zone but Monica our guide was superb. Lunch was delicious. Views were amazing and all in all an incredible experience.
b.
My family 2 adults and 2 children had excellent experience of the climbing. Everyone was very happy. Staff are very caring. We recommended our friend’s family straightaway after we did the climbing. They will go to Wanaka in a few days and they would like to do the climbing as well. Highly recommended to everyone.
H.
A unique and unusual experience like no other! Yasmin, our guide/instructor was great and made us comfortable. Personally I struggle with heights, but getting the ‘hang of it’ is easy and although there were one or two nervous spots, the views are spectacular and takes your mind off it.
We throughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone!
C.
Climbing, hiking in nature with a professional team. The guides were great, made it even possible to climp at 24th December! I felt everytime safe. The climb is perfectly prepared. Thanks again for the perfect day. For me one of the best thing to do in nature.
S.
Scenic vertical hike alongside a waterfall with a friendly team of experts guiding the way. So good you’ll forget you’re afraid of heights. Highly recommend bringing a massive camera
A.
My partner and I were fortunate enough to do the Level 2 tour last week on a beautiful day with just us and our guide Laurel. I couldn't recommend highly enough - we had the best day, learnt a lot about via ferrata climbing, and got some epic shots :)
w.
Great adventure with beautiful views and top notch guides. For the faint at heart don't worry you can upgrade your adventure package after doing the first level. I only wish I did the Lord of rings and had the heli ride down. Well worth the trip.
B.
An incredible experience that should not be missed. Our guides were amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and always checking to see we were ok. I was out of my comfort zone at times, but I always felt safe. It was such an exhilarating experience and well worth it. Spectacular scenery, such a privilege to be able to do this special activity in such an awesome part of our country. Would definitely recommend it.
B.
Amazing experience! Took the 'lord of the rungs' option and will never forget it. It's definitely a challenge - overhangs, waterfalls, wire bridges, and a great team of instructors. 6 hours up and a 2 minute helicopter ride down.
T.
Fantastic! If I lived closer, I think I'd be back to try level 3! Quite an exhilarating experience under the guidance of our awesome guide. And very empowering when I realised I was climbing up this cliff myself and just hanging around off a wire bridge. Definitely give it a go. If you're worried, start at the lower level, but be prepared to go to the next level, because you're almost sure to want to.
J.
This is an absolutely spectacular experience. Booked the level 3 climb but ended up doing up to level 2 because of the weather. The climb was beautiful. The tour guides are amazing and great fun too. Will definitely go again to finish off that top bit of the waterfall.
J.
This was amazing! The most fun I’ve ever had. Our guide, Madi, was wonderfully knowledgeable and encouraging. She knew so much about the area as well as being a great instructor. An amazing experience; would definitely recommend!
B.
Had an amazing time with my girlfriend doing the Via Ferrata at Wanaka 19/05/21. Stunning weather and not too cold. Maddie our guide was awesome and patient and the other guide Kate seemed super lovely too. Highly recommended.
One word of warning. Pretty tough experience for people less than 160cm tall as some grips are a decent stretch.
L.
Just fabulous and so much fun. It turned out to be just me and the guide Frank who was great. My partner in the end couldn't do it due to not being too great with heights and Frank was super patient and encouraging despite having to still abandon it in the end. We did level 2 and I think most would be absolutely fine with this as it is not all that intensive physically speaking but i do think you definitely need to be comfortable with heights! Highly recommend!!
A.
This really was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend it! The people were first class and we felt safe at all times.
My partner and I grabbed a 2 for 1 deal for the intermediate option which would usually be $598 combined. Great value, at full price maybe not so much.
You are basically climbing a ladder at a 'snails pace' up an incredible waterfall. Yes, its thrilling but its not physically hard for the average person that would be considering this type of activity. Getting over your fear of heights is the biggest challenge. The website probably overstates the challenge.
The level 1 course at $199 pp is way overpriced and very short; glad we opted for level 2! The level 3 is only another 100 meters and in hindsight we probably should have just booked that with the discount available.
The walk down was nice but the option to abseil back down the waterfall would have been the cherry on top. Even if it was an 'added extra' it would have been nice to have the option to consider.
Overall, it was an incredible experience for the price we paid I would recommend the intermediate course in a heartbeat. If anything could be improved it would be to add the option of abseiling back down as an 'added extra' when making a booking. If money isn't an object then you are onto a winner with Wildwire Wanaka and if you can grab a deal don't think twice!
T.
Fantastic via ferrata waterfall climb. Very good guides, loved the experience. Well worth the money.
C.
I did the Lord for the Rungs, level 3 climb with Kate and Mike. It was such a brilliant day, with clear instructions and safety measures. Very well supported throughout the climb, and so many epic views. Cannot recommend this enough!
A.
What an amazing way to spend a few hours outside of Wanaka! Stunning views, awesome guides and felt super safe the whole time. We went up to level 2 and got some sweet photos along the way. Loved every minute and would happily go again.
A.
I had an absolutely fantastic time! Throughout the experience, I felt safe and well informed— I’m a beginner climber, and was a little intimidated after signing up for the Lord of the Rungs Climb, but it was very doable! My guides were Tim and Monica, and they were well informed about the climb, some geology, and history of the area (I’m a nerd, so thoroughly enjoy that type of info). Overall, fantastic experience! I loved meeting the people, doing something a bit different, and with the help of Monica and Tim’s guidance, felt confident that I was capable of doing the climb. I’d DEFINITELY recommend supporting this business and giving it a go!
M.
My partner and I chose this activity in Wanaka because of travel guides (watch on TVNZ on demand). I'm afraid of heights so this was waaaay out of my comfort zone. Our guide Monica, was absolutely amazing. She was reassuring and made the activity feel safe and enjoyable. We climbed the beginner course and I highly recommend giving it a crack. What got me through the climb was the Freind Family. If they can do it, so can I lol. The guides know what they're up to and it's safe as heck. The veiws are stunning as well. It's pretty wild!!
X.
I did the Lord of the Rungs and it was epic! The climb was fun and at parts slightly challenging but in the best way. The helicopter ride down was great too! saved us from walking down. I would highly recommend this and I felt super safe with the safety briefing and the equipment.
Make sure you wear grippy shoes!
S.
Did the level 2 wild things and it really exceeded our expectations, challenging but felt safe the whole time, guides were awesome and the views spectacular, it certainly was fresh but the adrenaline kicked in and made the views at the top even more satisfying. Really worth doing and would recommend to anyone wanting a challenge in a beautiful part of the country.
Y.
amazing fun, three levels for all levels of fitness,
wonderful guide! beautiful views! fresh and exciting,
(especially the bridges!). thanks Dino!
S.
A big thanks to our awesome guide Connie. We had a beautiful sunny day which was great. We loved doing level 2 “Wild Things” 320m up and really enjoyed our experience! We a from Christchurch and truly enjoyed our trip down for this. A must try!
M.
What an amazing day ! Definitely a must do in Wanaka! I would recommend it at 1000000%. Such an original spot, climbing the waterfall! The view are spectacular! The team is very friendly, attentive and Helpful. I was a little bit scared but thanks to my instructor (Mel), I felt more and more confident and so happy! She really make me felt safe and confident! Thank you so much :D
Everything was perfect for us!
Thanks again Wild Wire Wanaka to make it affordable for all people!
Cheeeers!
M.
Great views, fun route, amazing location by the waterfall. A brilliant way to spend half a day!
With transport, snacks and lunch included you really get what you pay for. Had such a great time.
A.
Exciting trip, beautiful scenery, and really lovely informative guides. The climbing itself is not too taxing so if you have the time I'd recommend going higher, I was only able to do the second tier climb but I'll definitely be back to do the full climb sometime in the future 🙂
D.
Went in with zero experience and it was literally my favorite thing we've done in New Zealand, stellar views and amazing waterfall, super cool climbing!
L.
Our guide Owen is superb. Nimble, relaxed & eyes-on for whole trip to manage our safety comfortably & max our enjoyment throughout this spectacular outing. I have abseiled down waterfalls many years ago, but have never climbed up next to them. A memorable so enjoyable trip! Thank you Wildwire Wanaka!
H.
What an awesome experience! Highly recommend the Lord of the Rungs climb (all the way to the top). Our guides, Kate and Maddy, took great care of us. We felt safe and secure the entire time. Worth every penny!
L.
This was the coolest experience of my life. My family and I did a tour with WildWire that lasted 5+ hours. We did the first part of the tour and were asked if we want to continue and we all said yes immediately we were having so much fun. We climbed vertically up multiple waterfalls and felt safe the entire time. Our guide was alert and helpful the entire time. Each view we had was even more breathtaking than the first. This was the most thrilling experience of my life but I never ever questioned my safety. I will never do anything like this ever again. If you want adventure in the adventure capital of the world I cannot recommend this activity more. You interact directly with the waterfalls and walk over suspended (safe suspended) bridges.
K.
We had such a fun day! We did the Lord of the rungs trip and loved it. The trip had a beautiful level of exposure and challenge. Connie, our guide did a stunning job and was an absolute pleasure to hang out with for the day. Thanks so much Wildwire crew for a fantastic day out 🙌
P.
Climbed all three levels, each one a bit more testing. Definatley getting out of my comfort zone, but the safety gear and excellent tuition from the awesome guides made it as safe as! Fully recommend for those with a good head for heights, in search of a testing day and after a great experience in the great outdoors of New Zealand. Well worth the money!
C.
Although it was cloudy, we had a breathtaking experience scaling the cliff next to the waterfall. The instructors were all incredibly patient and knowledgeable. We climbed the newly built Wild Thing via Ferrata with Simon and it was easily one of the most exhilarating experiences this trip. Extremely worthwhile; a must do!
s.
What an incredible experience in the incredible Matukituki Valley! The Wild Wire was an unexpected challenge, more mentally than physically, but our experienced guide led us in a professionally relaxed manner so I always felt safe and understood what to do. I've lived in the Southern Lakes for 20 years and I've never before had an experience like it, to climb a waterfall in an outstanding landscape like that is definitely a Wanaka must do!
W.
Worth every penny. Felt safe, competent staff, good equipment. One of the most fun experiences we’ve had here in NZ, and we did them all. Highly recommend it. My only regret is not upgrading to the Lord of the Rungs... because once we started I didn’t want it to end. Do it!!!
c.
It was a stunning adventure with superb views of canyon rock walls and out to the St.Bathans range in the far distance. Climbing sheer walls, overhangs and gushing waterfalls, yet I always felt secure, trusting the wire and rungs setup and that my guide could manage my safety professionally and with great respect, giving me just enough rope to feel I was testing my limits. I am telling everyone it is well worth it to experience a unique adventure such as WildwireWanaka.
M.
My friend and I, both 60 years old and in decent shape, opted for the second level option. Our guides were professional and friendly, and the experience was a highlight of our eight months stay in New Zealand. The course offerered unparalled views, was physical but not overly challenging, and we felt extremely safe and secure the entire time. We were glad we selected the second level option, because we felt the first level would have been too short for us. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a memorable adventure.
K.
The guide was amazing and so nice and told us the awesome history of the falls and equipment. The climb was so much fun and excelled what I thought it would be. The price of it was definitely worth the amazing climb we did!
S.
Easily the most fun we had in Wanaka. We had Max as our tour guide and he’s an absolute hero. Initially when we tried to book in, they were fully booked out but they managed to squeeze us in last minute and we had the best time, their customer service was prompt and incredibly friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend it enough, if you’re looking for an outdoors adventure you should definitely do this.
L.
Had an amazing time doing the wild-thing waterfall climb with Wildwire wanaka :) friendly, knowledgeable guides. 100 % recommendation. If you have never climbed before the guides are patient, helpful and encouraging. Would love to go again and crack the Lord of the rungs 🤟
N.
Awesome day out! Beautiful waterfall and views. Jasmine was an awesome guide, and as much as I'd like to give her the 3 stars we joked about, she deserves the 5 😊
G.
This was incredible! What an amazing feeling climbing high into the waterfalls. Connie was such a solid guide, making each and every one of us feel so safe, but also pointing out the beautiful details of where we were so we could really make the most of every moment. Absolutely loved it, thank you so much
K.
My husband and I have wanted to do Wildwire for years, it was fantastic to finally get around to trying it! It was also great timing to support a local tourism operator post level 4 lockdown. Our guide Owen was very friendly and kept a watchful eye over all of us to make sure we were doing ok. Groups are kept small with around one guide per five guests. At the beginning there is a practice area to learn how to use the equipment, this definitely helped give me more confidence! I was a little scared beforehand, I'm not great with heights and I was worried about the three wire bridge, but honestly it was fine! Now I can't believe I put off doing Wildwire for so long! It was the most fun I've had in ages, the views were spectacular and I felt super safe the whole time. You have to give it a go!!
S.
Did the Wild Wire a few days ago and it was such a great fun! It progresses from a really easy level to somewhat harder one.
A heli ride from the very top back to the base saves the knees for those who hate hiking downhill and is totally worth it!
D.
We had an amazing guide, Connie. The overall climb was epic! Lots of incredible views and cool spots. Was pretty cool climbing behind the waterfall 🤩 Highly recommend.
z.
stunning views upon the mountain, we were very lucky to see icy waterfall which apparently is only available for a week every year. Our tour guide Tim was super encouraging during the climb and has expert knowledge on cliff/rock climbing if you have any questions.
S.
Wildwire Wanaka is a must do when in this part of the country. Excellent service and equipment. Felt 100% safe every step of the way. Mark and Connie were superb and the views from the climb are absolutely breath-taking. 11/10
D.
Wendy my wife booked a level 1 and 2 climb for my 58th birthday present. This is something I've always wanted to do and even living locally we had never really gotten around to making it happen. Wendy on the other hand was probably a bit apprehensive.
The whole experience was absolutely fabulous and was made exceptional by our guide Madi.
Madi took time to explain the history, the construction, the safety, the company, the owners and gave us an incredible holistic view of what was involved in setting up the business, running the business plus the care and compassion demonstrated by the business owners during and post covid.
Madi made us both feel very safe, relaxed and is the best example of customer service we have ever experienced word wide and is a true ambassador for Wild Wire, Wanaka, MAC, and the Sir Edmund Hillary College.
We both had a truly memorable experience with views to die for (poor choice of words) a real sense of achievement and we will make sure all our visitors know that this is the No1 south island adventure.
Wendy is delighted to have completed level 1 and 2 and I'm super keen to come back and do level 3.
Thanks for a memorable day out and please pass our sincere thanks to Madi who made it exceptional!!
a.
What an incredible experience.
I was so nervous about doing Wildwire I actually didn’t want to even think about it. Not long after I arrived and completed the practice wall, I felt immediately comfortable and safe. Laurel the owner took us on our journey up the Wild thing experience. It takes around 5 hours and includes a stop for a picnic lunch up the top 🙌🏻 (BYO some sammies)
Wildwire is suitable for anyone who has a wee sense of adventure and is keen to push their limits. I’m scared of swing bridges and I overcame my fear and absolutely LOVED it.
Nows the time to get out an explore your backyard. Put Wildwire on your to do list, you won’t regret it.
S.
We went to this using the Koha deal which was awesome as its usually far too expensive. Our guide Frank was great, very knowledgeable, dealt with the different levels of fear within our group well and took some amazing photos and videos for us. Overall our experience was 5 star worthy and I would recommend to all friends and family that visit Wanaka, But unfortunately I don't believe I know many people that would be happy to pay full price for this activity which is a shame because we had such a good day. Thank you
M.
What a great day! A group of 7 of us had an AMAZING time with our guides Frank and Connie climbing up the via ferrata. Frank took loads of photos for us and we all felt totally safe and within our means the whole time. I would 100% recommend to anyone living in or visiting Wanaka. An activity not to be missed!!!
B.
What a brilliant day and the best way to celebrate being 50 .
Excellent staff very friendly and helpful the course is amazing and a challenge.
Stunning views all around and waterfall is beautiful.
Small thing lunch is not a lunch just some small.snacks so bring plenty to drink and your food as your out for a few hours .
Thanks Wanaka Wire your the best .
T.
I had a fantastic time on the lord of the rungs package. I was a bit lucky as the usual price would be beyond my price point. But as they were doing maintenance on part of the track it was a tad cheaper. It really is a wonderful way to spend a day. And for around the same as you’d spend on a 30 second bungee jump, you have a full day of activities. The guides were great, super safe and friendly. The helo ride is very short. Basically just bringing you from the top of the track back to where you started. But it was a beautiful ride down. It was also pretty doable by anyone who has a hint of climbing experience. There’s only one section of real overhang and that wasn’t all that bad either. In fact if they ever came up with a more challenging route I’d want to come back for it.
A.
This was great fun, fantastic experience and a must-do if in Wanaka/Queenstown area. I would come back to do it again. Very cool to actually be climbing right up against the waterfall. Course set out really well. Incredible views too. Our leader also took some great shots for us and was very friendly.
M.
Highly recommend this climb. I had never done anything like this before. I had so much fun and our guide Connie was amazing. It was challenging but very rewarding to make it to the top, and helicopter down topped it off.
J.
Great day out with fantastic guides. Highly recommend to anyone.
h.
I had a great time doing the via ferrata with Wildwire Wanaka, it was more stunning than I anticipated, so I decided to upgrade to level 2 while I was doing the trip. Initially I thought it might be a bit too easy for me, as I've done a bit of rockclimbing before, and although it wasnt physically challenging for me, the beauty and majesty of climbing so close tothe aterfall made it totally worthwhile. I recomend it to others.
M.
My friend and I went for the Go Wild climb since we've never done this before and we didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be really fun and our guide, Kate was really friendly as well. It's really easy once you get the hang of it. I appreciate Kate is always attentive and kept an eye on us.
T.
Unbelievable experience.
I can’t imagine you could do such an amazing experience other than here in Wanaka. We had a group of 5 women all over 56. Two of us have fear of heights but we all managed to complete 2 out of the three stages. Unbelievable views whilst climbing up the waterfall. Huge challenge for us that we rose to the occasion and conquered. Staff were so helpful and made us feel safe. Absolutely amazing. Thoroughly recommend this experience.

Amazing experience, one of the best I’ve had in NZ.
Ben our guide was helpful and professional and we felt very safe. The views are amazing and even more so knowing you worked hard to get up there. Highly recommended
D.
We had an incredible experience at Wild Wire, everything about it was amazing. The views from the top of the climbs are just breathtaking. The safety at Wild Wire is next level, the equipment used is very safe. The guides at Wild Wire are great, we had Adam, he is a great guy and he was very helpful and patient with us. Wild Wire is a MUST do for anyone that comes to Wanaka.
T.
My wife and I had SO MUCH FUN!!! We really enjoyed the full experience. If you love rock climbing, then you'll love this adventure. You climb almost 1400 feet up via ferrara and wire bridges. I'm not the most avid rock climber and I'm a bit scared by heights, but this was still well worth it.
C.
Truly one of a kind experience, awesome views back out into the valley. The feeling of accomplishment as you walk out of the top of lotr combined with the vista is unreal. Its an experience that is challenging enough to feel like you've earned it, but doable for almost everyone. Highly reccomend.
B.
We went to the 2nd stage and it was so much more than we expected. Grant is not good with heights and it was a real challenge for him but we thoroughly enjoyed it and never felt unsafe.
So from a pensioner and a almost pensioner, take our recommendation and give it a go. It is a Wanaka Must Do.
P.
I recommend this to anyone. I love how rustic and genuine the start point is - tactfully low key. The climbs are great. My family split into two groups one on the intermediate and one on the beginner. I can't wait for the kids to get older so we can come back for lord of the rungs. The scenery is stunning and the waterfall is beautiful. Alice and Andrew were great guides.
F.
What an epic place to kick off a Christmas Party!!! Our group had the pleasure of checking out what Wild Wire was all about....We originally opted for Go Wild, however we ended upgrading to Level 2 on the day! A special thanks to Summer for helping me with my fear of heights!
B.
Awesome experience with great guides. Even with it being an inversion cloud day the sights of the water fall and rock faces that unfold as you climb make the experince, with the challenges of the climb absorbing you in the total package.
Thanks to the Wildwire team.
M.
Experience of climbing waterfall ferrata was one of best experience of my life. WildWire guys are profesionals and i was happy with everything. Strongly recomend for everyone who likes ferrata climbing. :)
C.
absolutely incredible experience with a great team of people running it. a MUST DO in Wanaka and could not recommend more highly. There are levels for every fitness ability and all are breathtaking and exhilarating. If you're considering doing this, DO IT. you wont regret it

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE! Could not recommend enough to anyone and everyone! Laurel and Mark are awesome, they've got an amazing team, and they made it so memorable! Lord of the Rungs is what we did and I would have to say go hard or go home!

Amazing experience!! We did the Lord of the Rungs tour—definitely worth it!! Climbed up via Ferrata to the top of twin falls and then took the helicopter down! Awesome guides! Thanks Chris, Tori and Dave! We even visited Tori at the Amigos restaurant later that night for dinner—delicious tacos! Thanks for an incredible day! 😁

Absolutely incredible experience! I've done quite a few adrenalin fuelled adventures in my time and this was right up there with the best. It's probably not for everyone, especially if you're scared of heights, but well worth conquering your fears and pushing on if you're in the fence. You'll be rewarded with spectacular views, a memorable day out and a huge sense of accomplishment!
C.
Had a fantastic time with Wildwire. Stunning views as you climbed up the waterfall, guides were great and gear was top quality. Would recommend!
b.
My girlfriend and I did the Wild Things course with one other girl. It was incredible to climb besides such a beautiful waterfall and to be guided by an amazing guide Sarah. If you have a fear of heights and want to do something about it this activity is perfect, much less scary then even an indoor rock climbing wall. Would highly recommend doing this when in Wanaka and we can't wait to do it again!
K.
One of my favourite activities I've done in New Zealand. Fun, tiring and great views. Felt safe throughout, and not nervous even though normally don't like heights. Great lunch and snacks provided.
J.

great experience , amazing guides, felt very safe at all times, very professional ,high safety standards, guides explained the process very well, something unique, highlight of my trip , exhilarating experience to be climbing so close to a high speed water fall, will do it again, lunch provided was yummy. I always believed I was scared of heights but this experience has proved me wrong , Now I feel so much more confident to do any thing of similar kind.

Rating 6 out of 5, definitely a must do thing in Wanaka, nice and friendly guides like Kate and Ricky, should skip the beginner one and go straight to the intermediate level-Wild Thing, no need for any climbing experiences, very safe to climb along the falls and cross the bridges, amazing views during climbing, we surely will be go back and try the advance level next time, highly recommended!
