Probably the Finest Luither this side of the black stump.
It's like this!
Trevor "The Luither" is a Perfectionist.
Highly recommended
Remember not every guitar is created equal.

I have just completed a guitar build at Binford Luthiery. I chose to build a telecaster style guitar with a few modifications. Trevor was extremely supportive in my design ideas and the whole build experience was enlightening and a wonderful experience. The guitar is beautiful and sounds as good as it looks. I wholeheartedly recommend anyone considering a guitar build with Trevor to enroll and get started as soon as a window of opportunity arises. I have gained new skills and a good understanding of solid body guitar dynamics. A great experience. I now feel confident enough to try another build solo.

Trevor is truly a master of his craft. Had a setup done by him which absolutely exceeded my expectations and my guitar is now effortless to play. Simply amazing, thank you Trevor.

Trevor has just completed a custom-build short-scale[30"] bass for me. I could not find one that was suitable in terms of construction, components, and quality. It has a [mahogany/maple] laminated "through-neck", Alder body wings, Indian Rosewood fretboard, Gotoh hardware and Lindy Fralin Pickups. The tone is deep and rich, with incredible sustain. It is resonant and loud [even acoustically].
Short-scale basses are popular at the moment and some major brands don't really take them seriously , historically they had a reputation as "student instruments" , but they have a different "timbre" , a big bottom end , and fewer intrusive harmonics, which makes them great for recording as they "sit in the mix" really well.
They are also a bit easier to play.
Awesome result.
Thanks Trevor

Trevor has been working on all my instruments and several of my students for the past 7 years. This ranges from high end instruments like Fender, Taylor, PRS and Tom Anderson all the way down to beginner instruments and everything in between. Electric, Classical, Acoustic, Ukulele as esoteric folk instruments. He has always done great work. Friendly and dependable. Highly recommended.

Trevor did an absolutely amazing job with my Maton electric, with re-fretting, adjusting the neck and generally tidying it up. It was the first time I had taken this guitar in for a tidy up after owning it for 14 years, and now it feels as if I had just bought it brand new. I fully recommend Binford Luthiery to anyone who wants work done on their guitar.

I took two of my guitars here to be set up to lower the action to make them easier to play. Wow I got them home and found just how good Trevor is at his job. They both sound so great and with the lowered strings, now so close to the fretboard, vibrato, string bending that add flavour to your playing an make you sound good are so easy to do. It is a must to get your guitar set up by a professional before you start to learn to play and Trevor is that professional. Thanks Trevor for the excellent job you did. I will be back.

Trevor was very professional and knowledgeable. Went in to see whether or not my guitars action is high. Helped me lowered the saddle and now it’s much better than before. Definitely will go back if i have any other guitar related problems. Thanks!

I bought a used fender 12 string with a bent neck. Trevor removed the neck and did his magic. Of the twelve guitars I own, I haven't been able to put this one down. Perfect set up, highly highly recommended AAA+

I'm really grateful for and impressed with the fantastic job Mr Binford did on my guitar. It looks way better, it plays beautifully. This was mainly a set up and a few repairs. Trevor is a very talented man (insane knowledge about luthiery and rocknroll also). This is the fricking place you need to go to.

Update to my first review (10 months ago). The experience just keeps on getting better and better. Trevor is the only source for custom arch-top guitars and ukuleles in NZ....amazing instruments, and he never fails me in repairs and set up. Thanks again Trevor.
