C.Amazing. Such a massive selection of CDs, records, DVDs. I found many of my favourite bands from here. They are reasonably price also! All the CDs were easily organised so it will simple to find your favourite bands albums. The shop is laid out well. The staff are really cool, helpful, & friendly 😎 can’t wait to come back!

A.Exactly what a record shop should be. The staff are friendly. They have a wide range of vinyl, dvds, cds and more that's ever changing as people come and trade in their goods. There's a great chill vibe in the store as people are chatting and browsing the shelves. The prices are good and fair as well not overpriced like you sometimes find with vinyls. Will definitely be back for more.

B.Good second hand vinyl section. But a bit overpriced in my opinion. Most desirable records are priced at either $30 or $40 which is higher than most other shops around New Zealand. There is a bargain area with cheap records that I did not explore. I would have gladly left with 4 or more items instead of 2 if the prices were more reasonable. I am happy with what I did leave with though and the staff were friendly. Good shop, but prepare to pay top dollar for the good stuff.

I rang in July 2020 to ask for an obscure UK record from 1958 and they had it! I could not believe my luck. I bought it and the staff advised me where to get the vinyl downloaded onto a memory stick so I could post it to my brother in Melbourne.
Brilliant service! I'm in there a couple of times a week these days.

People are browsing through the incredible amount of cool vinyl, CD's and assorted merch and other music related gear. It truly blew my mind. The staff are all so different in terms of age but are all knowledgeable, friendly and bloody awesome! So impressed with my experience xx

M.Along with selling records penny lane offers other great disc related services. When i went in there I sold two games and had another of my games resurfaced. I got much better money than I would from EB and the game works great now. I also listened to some old-school drum and bass. That was cool.

M.Can Second on Jamie Hewson's comment for Records. Bought a few this past weekend ranging from $20 - $50 with half of which being significantly scratched or damaged and unusable. Did notice they had turntables at front of the store to test them on, highly recommend doing this. Bought a couple cassette's; none of which were playable right through though at $5 a pop not overly concerned. Have bought CD's here in the past and they have been great in quality of second hand items and range.

I thought I was naming some relatively obscure hip hop / electronic records but they could tell me everything about them. They have a massive selection that it's easy to lose track of time flicking through records.
