The shop itself looks small, but it's pretty long in the back. Also, it's connected inside to music works People are nice and friendly and not intimidating. The place was clean. They do offer covid tracer app sign in.

Really knowledgeable salesperson who was able to explain the equipment that we wanted to purchase. A little pricey but the service was excellent and we didn't mind paying for higher quality service.

So Far. Its been a great spending my hard earn cash at The Rock shop. I purchased online for a store collection. Communication has been great. The online staff were really good and the shop staff at Hornby , Christchurch have been great.keeping me informed. Helpful . Knowledgeable and great to deal with. So far so good. Bought avid mbox pro 3 and pro tools.was not blown away by the after sale care when it failed to run properly on firewire.not really rock shops problem but since figured out its a notorious problem with this model

Shopping at the Rockshop has improved a lot over the last few years. Today's retail experience was delightful and satisfying even though they only had had one of the items I wanted in stock. Thanks to Shiane for the great service and a couple of good laughs. She is a real asset to the business and I hope she gets appropriate recognition for her efforts. Once upon a time I would not have recommended Rockshop to anyone however the standard of customer service has improved significantly. Well done.

Great range of product but struggled to get any of the staff to give me in depth info on the product I'm looking to buy. I don't want to run thr place down but when I'm looking to spend that kind of money, you'd expect better product knowledge. On asking about the difference between pick ups on 2 guitars that were clearly different and $400 difference in price, that's about all the info I got - they are different. Queried about what the differences were, I was simply told that they were different. Won't stop me shopping there but please take this on as constructive feedback rather than negative feedback

Full of musical instruments and all the gear needed to accompany any musician. Friendly and helpful staff who have their specialized knowledge and willing to help. A treat to shop there for me and my partner.

The Rockshop is a great place to get all the gear you need to rock. Very knowledgeable sales people that are extremely helpful whether starting our to working musician. Prices are reasonably I've bought three Marshall amps, a black Stratocaster, a 12 string accoustically, a baby Taylor for my daughter and millions of miles of strings. Nice staff!!!

My visit recently to this shop, initially for Advice, upon suggested by my PC technician, with a particular microphone, maybe in mind. Upon visiting the store, was met with friendly staff (x 2) one of whom directed me to the correct department, but some personal confusion for me of The persons name to talk to, i.e. the expert in area. However, this person with whom I subsequently spoke with, was rather helpful, showed me another microphone too, of other brand, and must be said, considerably cheaper at that. I eventually purchased RODE NT-USB MINI (this was unit earlier recommended by my tech, for Windows 10) with sum small initial negotiations. I say herewith, I am completely happy with this item, thus far, and generally the overall experience. Of course not everything is always perfect, in that there is a sense at shop (for me at least, and fair enough too) we're not here to chat, but eventually to sell, but this could just be my nature speaking here, and as mentioned above, fair.

We received the most outstanding service with such knowledgeable staff. We were.so.surprised ar how well versed she was with the Instruments yet not pushy but quite understanding g 0f what we wanted...She was very much wanting us to be satisfied and wanting us to get exactly what we wanted and needed....so honest about our options... This is the place to go for your musical needs ...hands down!!!

Great service, friendly, knowledgeable staff and huge range of electric and acoustic guitars which was what I was in the store for. They didn't smother me with questions as soon as I walked in as is with other retailers looking for a sale and over doing it, these guys ate relaxed, but professional and approached me after I had time to absorb some of the fine instruments on offer. I'll definitely be returning to this store and highly recommend to all.

Sometimes its a bit busy and it takes awhile to get served but when you do the service is great. Highly recommend Michael and Stu are the ones i usually deal with. They are fantastic they know what they are on about and if they don't they can definitely find out for you! Don't deal too much with the others but the times that i have they have been excellent as well.

I love visiting this place. The staff are friendly and helpful and such a great selection of guitars. They also have a great selection of other lesser non-guitar instruments. Accessories abound. My go to music shop.

Absolutely the best service!! A good reason to buy local. I bought a DJ controller from Rockshop Auckland on Tuesday, it arrived Thursday and through some bad luck, I got a faulty unit with power issues. Called the Auckland team, they said to post it back to the Christchurch shop and they'll look into it. They received the faulty unit on Friday, and I just received a replacement controller on Saturday morning. Super fast turn around, awesome service, great communication. A really solid reason to shop local instead of ordering from overseas, great after sales service. Thanks Nick!

Great place for every to find everything musical from instruments and accessories, a huge selection djing equipment or items for your home studio. Friendly staff who can help with your musical inquiries. For me it's the only place in Christchurch I ever need to go to get my music production back on track.

Would 100% recommend !!! Phoned and asked some questions on some decks I wanted and the service I was provided was amazing from the CHCH store. No BS just strait facts! EVEN BETTER THOUGH...... Ended up ordering the decks online, late on a Sunday evening, went to show a friend the following day what I ordered and saw the item had reduced in price by almost $100. Was a little frustrated to say the least so phoned and explained the situation to see what they could do.... Was 100% not expecting anything as thought it was just one of them unlucky situations however received an email this morning confirming they will refund the difference in cost. AMAZING and will more than likely use the money in store again anyway!! Thanks ROCKSHOP

The Rockshop in Hornby has provided a good range of musical instruments and add-ons for beginners and music sheets for many years. I'm unable to comment about the selection range on the higher end of the music spectrum although there are beautiful expensive pieces. The staff are friendly and helpful. The shop is dark and claustrophobic. It's worthwhile mentioning that for its location driving there is straight forward from any direction, however to go back you need a plan and patience.

Good shop if they have what you want already in store. Terrible if you ever need to order something in or send something away for repairs. -- Edit to reply to response: Bad experiences with both ordering and repairs unfortunately. At the end of last year had two different orders that we never heard back about. I went back to the store to chase one up because it was a Christmas present, the product had not been ordered and the item had now sold out NZ wide. The other order we gave up and sourced elsewhere. With having items sent away for repair the general experience has been that these take months to come back and occasionally these get "lost" only to be "found" again a week or so later. I have talked to staff about my experiences but I'm not sure if any of them were managers.

The Rockshop has always had the biggest selection of instruments on hand. The staff are happy to assist and let you try any instrument. They have a wide range from guitars to bass, drums to bongos and anything you may require for music production including decks and software bundles. Best part is that KBB Music (sister store) is right next door if you want to go down the more traditional style of instrumentation including brass, wind and keys!

had a particular bass i wanted to try out, the amp wouldnt work but the staff member did try for a good ten minutes to start it up, this was also during time where he was doing something else so very helpful, good range of guitars, bass and drums as well, even seeing a couple of mandolins and banjos there which was cool.
