I’ve never been in, I probably never will go in (I don’t know f about music). But my golly gosh, I can’t help but always glance at this place as I walk into Naumi Studio. Good vibes all round.

A fantastic music shop and great customer service. Alastair located a vintage banjo for me and has been incredibly helpful with tips and tricks on how to keep the in tip top condition... if you are looking for a stringed instruments, this is the place to go.

If you are about to purchase a string instrument of value, do yourself a favour and dont look any further than Alistair's . Certainly not online. Walk into this shop smell and touch the pieces of art on the wall, play and pay and you'll never look back. The experience alone is worth it.

Went to Alistairs want a violin but not knowing anything about them. Alistair was so lovely talking us through what makes a good violin and what to look out for. He was so wonderful playing for us and showing us the different sounds. It made me feel at ease when buying a violin. I ended up buying one on the spot. Would highly recommend!!

Went in for piano books but also asked for advice on buying a violin for a five-year-old. Excellent help, particularly around the refurbished violin scheme they do. I didn't end up buying a violin, but when it comes time, Alistair's will be the first place I'll go.

Easily the best Music shop in the country I have visited. Beautiful shop and great service. Alistair and his wife, Catriona, are extremely knowledgeable and are very helpful. I’ve been going there for years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

This is the best music shop for stringed instruments in Wellington: guitars, ukeleles, violins, cellos etc & all accessories. Also probably the only place that can organise repairs. I love it here and Alistair & Katrina REALLY know their stuff!

Can't say enough about this wee shop on Cuba Street. Traded in a lovely baritone uke I no longer use, got a hold price on UBass and another uke. Very happy with the UBass, though mi needem stakka practice!!

Top-Notch Service. I brought my 5 string Gold Tone in awhile back as the tuning keys had become loose and it wasn't staying in tune.. They did such an amazing job, it felt like a brand new instrument!

So lovely and friendly and trustworthy. They are experts - won't try upsell you, just give you what you need, high quality for good price. My $50 uke went around the world sounding great, unlike many ukes now. And my 8 string uke from there sounds like an angel. Also a beautiful store, worth wandering in and having a look around.
