Fantastic. 2 nights of sheer bliss. Fabulous , gracious old house, amazing meals, brilliant staff. Didn't want to leave, will definitely return. A must place to stay in Christchurch if you want to be thoroughly pampered. Can't rave enough. Many thanks for a wonderful stay.

One of the best places we have stayed at.
Beautiful room. Comfy bed. Great staff. And the food in the restaurant is to die for. A limited menu but what is there is outstanding.
We will come again.

I came mid week before a meeting there. I didn't realize they had a casual cafe. I'm so pleased I asked though because the chef came through with the goods and I got a delicious brioche for breakfast 🤤.
The atmosphere here is just beautiful. I will be back ❤️

Went there for high tea and everything is great. Sandwiches, savories and sweets are all served elegantly. Usually not really fond of sweets but there sweets are not too sweet. The scones are great as well. It is certainly on a more expensive side but worth every penny.

Couldn't fault our stay here. A beautiful building, amazing decor, wonderfully comfortable room and the service was outstanding. We will definitely return and recommend to friends. Thank you, Elizas.

Yesterday a small group of us girls called into Elizas for coffee and scones. What a beautiful Manor.
The service was wonderful and the coffee and scones were really delicious. We rate 10/10

Well what a beautiful morning we have had at Miro at the Manor! A spectacular menu in such a gorgeous setting, what a treat. Can't wait to visit again. We are so grateful for the friendly team who were so accommodating. Thank you!

If you are into old historic houses then this is the place to stay. Very old (150 years) beautifully restored home. From the very first welcome we were made to feel at home. The room was very good with heaters on well before we arrived. The breakfasts were great and very filling. Fully recommended for weekend stay in Christchurch

Fantastic place with very friendly and welcoming staff. The food is delicious and has a wide variety of different beverages.

Absolutely amazing. Really great experience. Manor is really well run. Clean, comfortable and warm.
O.
Great food, atmosphere and service. A tranquil gem right in the heart of the city

Beautiful lovely place with a simple breakfast & lunch menu all reasonably priced. The filter coffee tasted excellent and we were told they use the fresh coffee grinds from their coffee machine in the filter coffee. Had a small muffin with rock solid middle (possibly from overheating) and it was replaced with an amazingly soft and fluffy one shortly after. Very friendly service and absolutely stunning manor.

If you are fond of staying in historic old homes, this is wonderful. The mid-nineteenth century home turned hotel is truly magnificent. Our king luxury room has been restored in an updated fashion that provides a luxurious shower, large deep bath. The bed provided a well-needed comfortable night's sleep. And the hostess who greeted us was welcoming, lugging my suitcase up to the room then pointing us to a nearby restaurant for dinner.

Visited for high tea on a Saturday afternoon. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Casey was a perfect hostess. The food was sublime and there was more than we could reasonably eat. We felt it was great value and a brilliant experience.
E.
Excellent food, best I have has in my entire life and the service is spectacular. You feel like real royalty

I didn't stay here but enjoyed a brunch today...friend and I had eggs Benedict, a little salty for me but otherwise eggs were beautiful and the bacon crisp.... Just how I like it.rather a long wait before we got our hot drink but my coffee was perfect so have given them the 4stars for that. Atmosphere was quiet and although my friend didn't enjoy the old setting, I thought the building and surrounds was lovely.Staff were polite and friendly but service could have been a bit quicker .
T.
We were with a group who had lunch there. All the meals came out at the same time and were delicious. Good value and well presented. Staff were lovely and very friendly.
I would love to spend a couple of nights at Eliza's Manor.

A delightful High Tea experience adapted to our various dietary needs. Wonderful service in a stunning setting. We had a peak at the guest rooms upstairs too and they looked lovely!
K.
We visited here for a beautiful overnight stay, playing chess in the lounge over a glass of wine, and stunning breakfast the next morning. A real treat: thank you Eliza’s ❤️
M.
Absolutely awesome service, divine yummy food. We had a high tea. Unfortunately we had not been advised that the price did not include the drinks and they kept topping us up.
P.
Wow, excellent venue with top quality food.

This characterful hotel is superb. We stayed for 2 nights and were made to feel very welcome from the start. It is easy to find and park in front of the hotel and just a short walk to the centre of Christchurch. The breakfasts were outstanding, especially the eggs benedict- generous portions too! Highly recommended.

Eliza Manor is an enchanting place every proud one eyed Cantabrian should visit. It is such a treasure in a city which has already lost so much precious historical jewels and this grand old majestic marvel has been lovingly restored to the zenith of it's golden epoch. Their guest rooms are exquisite and tastefully decorated and provide a luxurious experience for any visitor seeking a pampered and restful escape from the toils of the daily grind. My mother and I could not have been more thrilled by the gorgeous, eye fetching and mouthwateringly magical high tea the good folk at Eliza lovingly laid out for us. The scones were so delicate and fluffy and the cream was whisked to cloud like perfection that it felt like heavenly breath when it caressed our palates. Their lammingtons just melted in our mouths and their assortment of club sandwiches were divine bliss on the lips. Our English breakfast tea was served piping hot and we were able to extract a gregarious 10 cups from the tea pot! The only thing more spectacular than the food was the stunning ambience of the grand old lady (the manor) which mein hosts had worked so passionately to present. Our table and dining area were stunningly set and our hosts took the word service to cosmically soaring new heights. The only thing to rue was the fleeting time. We could have stayed in the manor exploring it's fascinating past all day long. But, the experience and service provided has provided us with an unforgettable memory which we will treasure ad infinitum! To any one thinking of holding a future conference or a function, Eliza Manor is where you need to go. They have a gorgeous reception area and a beautiful landscaped exterior which would be wonderful for your conference, get together or big day ladies and grooms to be! They also offer exquisite looking lunches and plan to offer evening meals in the future. Their offerings will leave you uncontrollably salivating with excitement. I wish the team at Eliza all the best for the future. My rating 200/100! Off the richter sublime!

Had a very warm welcome from one of the most beautiful oriental women I have ever seen she was an absolute delight.
The room was spacious and very comfortable.
Sadly we only had one night here before heading home to the UK.
We would definitely stay here again next time we're in Christchurch.

We went along to the cafe and had brunch. They were very accommodating and swapped the english muffins for the ciabatta bread (just needed a little frying with butter) we also asked for them to go heavy on the hollandaise (cause that is what it is about). I'm a bit so, so with eggs benedict but when the plate came out my eyes popped as it looked an exceptional meal. You are not only treated to a well done eggs benedict with a well made sauce but the plate comes out with small extra treats also (that did go down well). Would have to be best value for money I have had for some time. Coffee was great too.
It was a little cool on the day and a couple of notches on the heat would have been welcome. All in all if I could give this place 10 stars out of 5 (impossible to do) for this yummy little meal I would.
Lovely staff -- a very good experience. I did not see a food cabinet (They had a cabinet with a couple of cake selections) and this place is more for meals.
Update We went back and had the exact meal but this time the salmon in the eggs benedict was from a tin and not fresh so they are a bit inconsistent on what they offer. The other meal we bought was the same and they forgot to serve one of the meals and only came out after asking. Still would go back as it appeared they had new staff learning the ropes.

We went for lunch had salmon Benedict & was cooked to perfection - compliments to the chef. Service was great, very attentive but waitress dressed in casual black Jean's & black hoodie with red writing not at all fitting for a Manor's image. Unfortunately, the finer details of things being heritage were not quite there eg a cheap 80s milk jug and no fine silverware or sugar spoon. Needs a paint on the outside before it gets beyond being saved. Inside also lacks even simple maintenance torn lamp shade in the bedroom, torn seating in the dining room, cheap dining chairs mixed in with heritage style chairs, faded window seat fabric in piano room. It would be a shame to see a rare remaining piece of Christchurch heritage let go. We were told owners are Chinese and don't want to spend money on the building which is a little disheartening.
J.
We only stayed here for one night but Ann made every minute of our stay as nice as possible. She was very accomodating with the rooms and was sure that we were up and ready with an incredible breakfast in time for us to make to our train! I am definitely looking forward to staying here again very soon.
M.
Newish owners. About 2 months. Very gracious. Spent 2 nights in the largest room. AC a bit slow to respond, but works fine after. HUGE shower with regratably one shower head. Ample choices for breakfast. Large portions.
S.
This is a lovely relaxed and friendly restaurant.
One of our historic places in the heart of Christchurch.
Fantastic venue.
Lovely mulled wine adding a touch of winter.
J.

D.
Amazing place to go for breakfast food was fantastic and great atmosphere very relaxing and nice to have your cuppa in fine China !! Staff were pleasant price also good value! Would highly recommend this place and would certainly be returning xxxx
B.
My wife booked this for us and we stayed at Eliza's for a couple of days over Christmas 2012 for a few day and found that the experience was a little let down by tired decor. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest but alas we didn't have much choice in where to stay. Harold seemed a little bit abrupt with us but seemed a little nicer at the end of our stay. On our return back to Christchurch we stayed at the Charlotte Jane, and this was a more pleasant stay than Eliza's.
L.
Beautiful high tea. Gluten free so absolutely wonderful to get good food. Highly recommended. Thanks so much ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We have just enjoyed 3 lovely nights at Eliza's manor in Bealey Ave. Made to feel very welcome by the owners and staff. Great food, meals and service. Lovely big bedroom.
C.
Excellent was a word too short to describe our 3 night stay. Francisca, Chef Liam, welcome staff Vicki, Sophia and all other of the staff at Eliza's that we didn't know their names, thank you. We coulnt thank you all enough for the most beautiful stay at this incredible hotel. We could not rate the service, cleanliness and personal treatment highly enough. Please stay here if you wish to be treated like royalty.

(Translated) Rather disappointing. Location good but no additional offer available. Bar closed at 8pm. No soul around the house. The most beautiful room with a balcony and the current garden are of no use. Too bad, seems somehow extinct. Very British but impersonal
(Original)
Eher enttäuschend. Lage gut aber Zusatzangebot nicht vorhanden. Bar geschlossen um 20h. Keine Seele um Haus. Da nützt das schönste Zimmer mit Balkon und das jetzige Gärtli nichts. Schade, wirkt irgendwie ausgestorben. Very britisch aber unpersönlich
