Very helpful and friendly staff. Adequate and clean communal facilities. Excellent location. A lovely new swimming pool and a play ground for children. The beds were comfortable. The only downside in our lodge room was the bunk bed above the double bed that I kept bumping my head into. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Our family had a good two days here. It was nice rooms, OK space for what we needed. First time I have stayed at a place like this so wasn't sure why there were so many rules but again understood. Shared bathrooms probably need more attention when cleaning maybe twice a day or something like that. Dead cicadas I the bathroom and at the doors but I guess that's normal. Pool is amazing and we did break a few rules by jumping in the pool and were told off which was fine but bit of a killer buzz. Overall we would go again because we know what to expect but maybe look around first before settling.

It was a wonderful time spent at Shelly Beach Top 10 Holiday Park in Coromandel. I enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool and the beach with my brother. And we managed to pick some cockles from the beach. Friendly staff and people there and I would love to visit again in the future.

Amazing family holiday park! Super kid friendly - even babies! We stayed for 3 nights and we just had so much to do around there you could never get bored. The kids loved the playground and pool and we took our kayaks out during high tide and went crab hunting during low tide. The staff there were very helpful and made us feel welcome. 10/10 would come back again! Thanks Shelly Beach Top 10 for making our first camping trip with our babies easy and fun!

Awesome well presented park. Immaculately clean with many extra little touches. The owners have been extremely thoughtful in the park layout and accommodation options. The brand new swimming pool with its unique water games is sure to be very popular and an added family activity to the existing playground which includes a bouncer bladder and easy Park access to the safe swimming Shelly Beach

We're staying in one of the pods located by the creek looking out towards the ocean. Very peaceful location if you want to get away from the rest.

Myself and a friend stayed in one of the lovely pods and it was so better than we thought! The view 100/100, the pod was so comfortable and gorgeous, we were right by the creek so had a family of ducks as company too. The camp site itself was well set up with everything you need, had a great coffee machine 😀 (always a bonus), friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend! and I will be planning another visit!

This place is out of world! It’s so amazing that you feel you are in heaven. If you want a real break from your normal routine and want to stay with the nature, this is the perfect place. My wife loves the nature so I gave her a surprise for our wedding anniversary. She was blown away to see this amazing place. We stayed in Unit 31, it was just perfect for us. Right in front of the beach, beside beautiful creek and gorgeous view all around you! Beautiful birds and had a family of ducks as company too! What else you need? My wife loved feeding little ducks all day. Nice clean beach to walk and relax with glass of wine was devine. The night sky was just so magnificent. My wife and I sat on the deck and watch awesome Sunset. Definitely going back. It is only couple of hours of drive from Auckland and very scenic and pleasant drive. The camp site itself was well set up with everything you need, friendly and accommodating staff. Corina was super helpful. Great host… Highly recommend! We can’t wait to visit again and again! Best campground ever! Owners/reception were incredibly accommodating and helpful to us. Went above and beyond when we explained our other accommodation had fallen through. Beautiful site, right next to the beach. Clean facilities! Can't wait to come back!!

Just got back from a long weekend here. It was absolutely amazing. Perfect weather, clean facilities and amazing owners who got us a great spot by the beach which I had requested! When we arrived she said ‘I saw your request but the best I could do was 20 seconds walk’ haha we laughed so hard. Would come back in a heart beat. They even had an outdoor film projected on Saturday night for the kids but we loved it too! Sat on the beach, glass of wine, blanket, film. Utter perfection. Thank you.

Lovely little campsite, right by the beach. The camp sites are a good size and there is plenty of shade from some pretty mature trees. The facilities are tidy and clean however there is only one shower block and one kitchen so you might need to wait a bit for a shower / toilet or to cook your food at busy times. Loved the effort put in to provide movies on screen at night by the beach and the kids loved Mr Toppy the penguin who gave the kids an Easter treat with a lolly scramble.

While clean, well set out and very friendly staff, when the wind blows the wrong way you can smell the sewage, the wifi connection is appalling and the place is getting run down

+ Really nice place. Friendly and helpful staff. Apartment was really nice, well-equipped and clean (could be improved with an air conditioner though). Nice location, next to the beach where you can watch sunset. - First night of our stay someone from the outside of the park had a party and there was a loud techno beats music from 10pm to 6am. Nothing helped, closed windows, earplugs... Not only wasn't able to sleep but to do anything else with the same beat over and over you can go crazy really quickly especially when you're tired after travel. I know it's not the parks fault but it just ruined our night and obviously next day as well.

We are a 20 strong kayak group from 2 clubs and were impressed with the Holiday Park in everyway. From the pleasant staff to the ambience of the camp it had it all. Very clean facilities and neat, tidy, large sites. Absolute water-front access from the camp for our kayaks. Highly recommended.

We booked with agoda a cabin and had everything confirmed..unfortunately we received an email from Aaron stating that the room had been double booked, the day we were to arrive. Aaron went above and beyond and rang around for us and got a room put on hold for us elsewhere. Enjoy the chocolates mate, you deserve them. And for the record we will definitely be back.

Lovely top 10. Good location and beautiful beach!

Excellent campsite, clean showers, clean toilets and big shared kitchen. Beautiful sunset night and lovely staff. Just bring your own plenty of water for cooking and drinking as the water from the kitchen tap is not clean.

If you want some pease of mind relaxing and leave the kids to be kids go to them you will be so happy

What a wonderful place!!!! My toddler and I absolutely loved it here, awesome playground and super safe beach for running and splashing about. Accommodation was super clean, and we were very comfortable and basically didn't want to leave. Can't wait to come back. Thank you to the amazing owners who run such a gorgeous, accommodating place!

Only the best words for this place (stayed in a camp) - scenic views of the beach, environment, clean and tidy facilities, spaceous, 1gb of wifi. The owner was super helpful and took her time to share many useful tips for my Coromandel road trip, without which it would have been a totally different experience. Thank you!

Home away from home. Beautiful friendly people. Clean surroundings inside and out. Safe for all ages. Management and staff are very professional. A great start to a New Year here at Shelly Beach Top 10 Holiday Camp.

Shelly beach is a good place to collect cockles so the holiday park is the best option. Good facilities and very patient and friendly receptionist who gave me much advice. Much appreciate! For other potential visitors, just be aware that due to the location, there’s no signal from your phone. Be prepared for that in advance.

Not a bad place for a night or 2. I wouldn't recommend longer. Communal kitchen and bathrooms. Rooms are tidy and clean but they get very hot either that or get eaten alive at night. We did however wake up to ants everywhere.

Lovely beach when the tide is in, campground a but run down, was a long weekend when we were there so very busy I feel the toilets/showers needed to be cleaned more regularly and alot of appliances were about of order unfortunately

Sunset and cockles were plenty. The swimming on the beach is very tidal

Good amenities. The campsite has a lot of trees and is generally flat. The powered tent sites are approx 7m x 7m. Really nice tidal beach perfect for kayaking or paddle boarding (or for children to play). The one odd thing I found is that the campsite crew would simultaneously start cleaning all the toilets around 10am which would keep them closed for 2h. There were also some issues with water pressure every now and then.

If you want to break a routine and want to stay close to the nature, this is the perfect place. It is only a 2 -hours of drive from Auckland. The night sky was just so magnificent. My partner and I sat on the porch with a pitch dark sky and witnessed some shooting stars as well. Try to stay in one of the Glamping Pods. It is fabulous.Definitely going back. Also, Corina was super helpful. Great host!!

We just got some good sized cockels at low tide

Very peaceful well maintained park where not every green piece is filled. Has great facilities and the most friendly owners you could wish for. They are always willing to help. Planned to stay 1 night, but just booked the 3rd night ♡ our kids are 2 and 4 yrs, they love it here. It is located right at the beach :)

I stayed in one of the deluxe pods for a night and loved it so much I was hoping someone would cancel their reservation so I could stay longer! So well set up, right on the beach. I chilled with a wine, watching tv or reading my book looking at the view and the incredible sunset. And the bed was soo comfy, it was unreal. One of the best little getaways I’ve found.

Camped here for a couple of nights with a friend and his kids. Facilities were great for the kids which I've come to expect from Top 10s. A little bit of glamping in the form of cabins and pods if the wife doesn't want to sleep in a tent.

My partner and I had a fantastic weekend at Shelly Beach. The location is beautiful, backing onto a peaceful bay that fills with water at high tide, and because it’s not very deep it’s so warm! And at low tide we walked all the way out in the bay and collected some cockles to throw on the BBQ, delicious! Our camp site was a really good size, and the recently renovated facilities were fantastic. There was a slight issue on one of the days we were there when the water stopped working, but management got onto it so quickly it was resolved in no time. Our comfort seemed really important to the employees! Highly recommend Shelly Beach Top 10. Awesome spot on the Coromandel Peninsula.

Wonderful holiday park :) My partner and I went during September at the beginning of spring and we stayed in there new Pods. The pods are so nice and have a beautiful view out over the beach and to the water. It was raining a lot at night and it was so cosy being rugged up in the big double bed with the rain pattering on the roof. I loved our little cosy pod :) It was such a wonderful holiday. Thank you Shelly beach Top 10 for a wonderful escape :)

We enjoyed the facilities and staying in the Glam Pods was great. Walked along the beach and watched the sunset. The young lady who welcomed us was very helpful and she gave us some great suggestions where to go. Thank you.

Great little spot for families to stay. The beach can be cold and windy but is beautiful and adventurous. The owners put lots of love and care into making this a great spot to stay. Clean, tidy, fun and peaceful. We would come again.

Convenient, handy for a west coro coast explore, clean and tidy, well run and office staff was fantastic with her recommendations and knowledge of the coro peninsula. Her dinner recommendations were spot on, thank you.

Right by the beach. We skipped the option in town and headed here for some peace and quiet. Facilities as expected, sure a little dated, but very clean and plenty of showers. And who needs a pool when you have the clearest sea water? Buy your groceries in town before you arrive.

My fiancèe and I spent the weekend in one of the new stunnong glamping pods and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pod was warm, cozy, tidy and had a beautiful view. The owners are kind, welcoming, very polite and were always happy to chat. The kitchen is massive! And nicely laid out. It has everything you need when staying at a camp ground. Has two massive fridges, 4+ cook tops, more sinks than you could shake a stick at, 2 microwaves, mini ovens, a couple of toasters, 3 BBQ's and more. <br/>The camp ground is massive but also very well kept. Plenty of room for kids to play and is a short walk from a stunning beach.

Our first time staying at a holiday park, first time in the Coromandel too! Lovely staff, very friendly and approachable at all times. Clean and tidy facilities, highly recommend!! Definitely will stay here again, next time we visit the Coromandel! Thank you for making our short stay an awesome one!

Great camping site by the Shelly Beach. The reception staff are super nice and welcome. All the facilities are nice and clean. Great place for spending the weekend.

Darren and Corina helped and looked out for us, it was the best place to visit from the whole trip, when we arrived it was to early to check in but Corina took our bags for the day and even planned our day perfectly! Unfortunately because of Easter weekend we were a little late getting back to our lodge but a quick phonecall with them put my mind at ease, Corina and her husband Darren waited for us to return to check in, the most lovely people I've met, thank you guys! 10/10 recommend!

Carina and her Hubby were the the most helpful people we have met on our travels .. nothing was any trouble.. excellent facilities.. the most stunning views on the beach.. a sunset to die for..very spacious and clean camping ground.. would recommend 100%.. Thanks again guys John & JACQUI Egan

Great location and very picturesque, staff are super friendly and the price is incredibly reasonable. It's a very quiet camp site at night which is absolutely perfect in my opinion. I would definitely consider staying here again in future.

This is a beautiful spot at the head of a small inlet on the Thames estuary. A great variety of accommodation on offer as well. A good spot as a base for exploring other parts of the Coromandel.

Great place real family friendly all facilities clean tidy will be back again highly recommend the beach for younger kids and spend time at the play ground with a toddler it gives you a steps class workout at the same time

Great Place and Great People! Its a great place with good amenities. Calm and nice view by the beach. All amenities are clean and in great condition. Above of these all, Mr. and Mrs. at reception are very generous and helpful. Highly recommend for staying.

we spent a couple of weeks here....nice tidy park...beach at back of property...excellent access to the water....hosts Corina and hubby very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with...the grounds and amenities were really kept in a clean fresh state...very grateful to have been able to have our dog with us on site....made our stay very stressless...will definately be back to stay when back in Coro....

Expensive but well maintained and clean facilities. Large kitchen and dining room. We were on a tent site just in front of the ocean. Not enough plugs for our laptops, we spent a long time in the laundry. No Free Unlimited Wifi.

Fantastic location with stunning sunset. Beautifully kept and extremely well cleaned on a daily basis. The new owners are extremely helpful and kind. I wish them all success and I am very grateful to Fred for all he did for me over and above what one might expect.

Very nice campground with a great view of the sunset. You are allowed to camp right on the beach, but dont expect too much out of the beach- it's a fun place to wander around on but mostly a large flat mud spit with clams/mussles/etc. Facilities were good though with free showers and a nice kitchen/dining area

The ladies were so lovely and as a solo traveller they made me feel very safe. Very grateful for such great accommodation. Very thankful and will be reccommending to friends and family. 10 mins from coromandel Town. 😊

Great park with all the comodities you need for both caravan users and general guests. Dump station, powered sites and hot water showers. And very nice beach.

The pod we stayed in was absolutely immaculate. The staff are friendly and organised and went the extra mile to cater for covid regulations.

Had the best time camping here, met some amazing people. The beach is ok, however everything else makes up for that. Cant wait for this years trip!

Lovely location with great facilities, we stopped for a night but decided to stay longer. Its a few kms from shops, The owners were great, helped us out when we arrived without milk, saved us the trip back into town. A park now on my shortlist.

This is a peaceful waterside campsite with lovely sunsets. It has plenty of facilities, good for kids and campers of all ages. There are powered, unpowered sites and chalets.

We were running very late. The staff were lovely by leaving an envelope pack with instructions for the area, map and key on the notice board given our late arrival, super clean!

Regular holiday park. Facilities and kitchen where clean. The owner wasn't friendly nor rude. We had a problem with the stove at 9h30 Pm and I ring him to fix it. He came very quickly and solve it.

Awesome place to stay, very friendly hosts and central to being able to explore the Coromandel.

Started heading off to the East coast to camp in a DOC site, but stopped. The weather forecast was dire for the next day, Cyclone Hola was due tomorrow. We decided to go for another posh site just North of Coromondel called the Shelley Beach, where we could cook and eat under shelter. The beach here is very definitely shelly and goes out a long way at low tide. Masses and masses of bi-valves. When we arrived there was a group of oyster catchers at the high tide mark and some white faced herons. Later we saw one of the heron chase after a sqashum. Also saw a rat wander around the beach. Again, R claimed to have seen a Kingfisher, but I didn’t. Suspect she is paying me back cos I was the one who saw the Kiwi. Beautiful sunset on the first night. The next day it poured with rain, and in the evening the rain proved too much, so off we went to a restaurant in Coromondel called The Pepper Tree, where we had a very well presented good meal.

The Coromandel Peninsula is located on the eastern side of the North Island of the country. Coromandel Township is only 75 kilometres away from the capital city of Auckland.

Favourite place in all NZ. Even with school camp arrival was very peaceful.

They let us check in at 11am, so we could do all our laundry and dry the clothes in the sun the same day.

Cabin was clean and comfy and so were the bathrooms and kitchen. Highly recommend!
