K.It was great, as always. We often come for a family lunch/drinks, this time we held a work do. Staff are always friendly & efficient. Food was delicious. Only thing I would ask for would be wristbands for function guests, for a security thing for the tab. And also, bigger platters for a function & no need for the side salad to look pretty for a large group.

E.Perfect place for a cold beer and hot chips. Great outdoor garden bar with lots of umbrellas for shade and a big area for kids to run around. Huge range of delish food on the menu. And more beers on tap than you could drink on a Sunday arvo.

S.Had a great experience here, the restaurant was really busy but our meals arrived quickly. The service was great, staff are super friendly and helpful. Meals were yummy and the portion sizes were very generous!! We stayed in the accommodation as well, nice, clean and warm. Couldn't ask for a better base for our trip to the Hawkes bay for the long weekend.

G.We love this place, amazing rotating craft beer selection. They also have some excellent European beers. They have lots of seating and friendly service, the food menu is really good, and they take care with food allergies. There is an outdoor patio that on weekends they usually have live music. I definitely recommend this place for a burger and beer!

S.Excellent service, amazing staff - very accommodating, rooms are clean and peaceful. Restaurant, bar on site which is very convenient. 5mins away from the airport and 10mins away from town. Would definitely recommend for tourists and locals.
G.Based on previous reviews I was expecting more, turned up at 5.00 pm for an early dinner. Maybe they were not ready to be serving meals - mine got mixed up, daughter received hers after the people who sat and ordered after us. the food was excellent. M.My husband and I had lunch here when staying in Napier for a couple of days. The lady who served us was wonderful. She was super friendly and had a lovely manner. We sat outdoors. The setting was just so-so. The three stars is really for the food. I asked about the pork ribs, whether it had heaps of sugar. "Oh, no, no", came the answer. When my meal arrived, there was a nice-looking salad on the plate, some chips and a separate plate of ribs. I can't complain about the price. It was really good value for money. The chips were really nice, too. But the ribs, although cooked really well, were so sickly sweet, and then I ate the salad which had a really, really sweet dressing on it. I felt like I was eating a dessert. My husband had the fish, and he said it was just ok.
Pros: Great value for money. Really lovely serving staff (at least the lady we had), yummy chips.
Cons: Overall the food wasn't that good. It was quite noisy with the traffic, and the outdoor setting out the front wasn't that nice.

C.Kid friendly place to eat. They have a change table with a sink and toilet all in one space which was a big help with my 16 month old. The high chair, books, Mr Potato head and more helped to keep him distracted before and after dinner. The food and staff were amazing. I highly recommend making a stop at this place.

My husband and I stopped in on our travels throughout New Zealand , we are so glad we did , our stay was honestly just something else , rarely do you experience such great hospitality from start to finish, the service was fabulous , it truly caters for everyone’s needs , sports bars , multiple choice of food to eat, the beer garden was lovely to relax in and have a drink especially after travelling for so long! I truly hope this review helps someone decide on where to go as you will not be disappointed.

A.My wife , father and I stayed here just prior to Christmas, I could not rate the venue high enough, the hospitality was great, accomodation was superb, food was fantastic , the venue caters for all needs , a lovely beer garden , sports bar , they had different types of cuisines.
I highly recommend this establishment to anyone , if you are in Napier visiting or reside you will not be disappointed to visit the venue and see for yourself.

T.Great food and very friendly service all an a great atmosphere, not a bad place to take the family to as there are toys for the younger ones to keep them entertained. Highly recommend if you are near and feel like good old fashioned English pub food that really hits the spot. They also have a good selection of refreshments available including in house beers.
M.Great hosts, staff very friendly. Craft beer is some of the best I've tasted. Bedding is wonderful, slept incredibly well. The owners have ensured they have premium mattresses. Great location. Choice of great pub meals or Asian. Highly recommend.
K.We popped in just because we were in the area at dinner time. Biggest and yummiest steaks I have had in years. Steaks are so big they come on their own plate and salad and chips on another plate. Wonderful little pub steeped in history and full of fantastic service. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that we were there when medium busy but the acoustics made it very hard to hear each other talking.

Enjoyed a great meal in their restaurant.
They had a live band in the restaurant / bar area when we first arrived, which was nice. Both the evening and morning duty managers were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. The service was great.
The resturant has plenty of rustic inside, outside seating and they are children friendly.
Good for a great pub meal and they have a good range of beer choices. Would stay again.

B.Very large selection of craft beers. I tried the beer tasting platter of 6, each glass costs 5 dollars. Loved the beers, they had a special chocolate beer when I was there. The burgers are gigantic and amazing value, but most importantly they taste great.
C.Cute little pub with a pretty good menu, off main road, close to the beach. We had lemon lime and bitters, vegetarian wonton, vegetarian bunless burger, beer battered fish and chips. Really tasty. Relaxed friendly staff and environment, good sized portions.

j.Great atmosphere in this fabulous Kiwi icon old style pub. Several bars to choose from including indoor, outdoor and conservatory. Sports Bar and separate Lounge Bar. It is cosy and welcoming. The food & service was excellent! If you have not tried a 'Burger in a Bowl' before this is the place to come. Generous servings and good value for money. Family freindly too! They specialise in craft beers and have a huge range to suit all tastes. I highly recommend a stop here.

R.Great bar/pub that is not trying to be anything it isn't. Standard high quality pub food (burgers, steak, roast of the day), the very biggest and best selection of beer in Hawkes Bay, loads of NZ and international craft beers, from small independent NZ breweries (as well as some of the bigger ones). And the service is always great. Awesome quiet comfortable rooms out the back with everything you need.
J.A great portion of fish which was absolutely delicious same as a crispy pork belly. Very nice establishment and stuff provided a good service. Definitely will come back.
P.Great food (try the Phillipina dumplings, outstanding!) and awesome selection of craft beer that is always changing. My favourite bar on the Napier side of the Bay. Jeremy and his team do a great job and the accommodation is very good value too.

J.Beautiful old hotel, downstairs is a quaint old pub with a local micro brewery attached. Next door is a family bar and out door area off both. They have a huge range of local and national craft beers on tap and bottled. Great place to bring the kids for a nice quiet lunch or stop off on you travels around Hawkes Bays cycle ways.
R.We love staying here. Good clean units with heat pump. We arrived late one night in winter and they had the room nice and warm for when we arrived. Bar/Bristro is great! Delicious decent food. Projector screen for sport game viewing. The staff are always helpful and polite. Always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was pleasant. I recommend staying here
M.Great place to hang for a couple of hours with a craft beer tap list to rival any pub in a big city and great food. Have a yarn to Jeremy about the beers if you get a chance he is a wealth of knowledge!
C.So I stay here often, food is great, rooms are comfortable and beer is outstanding. Anyway they now have a micro brewery, I decided to try their new beer "Afraid knot". Suffice to say I'm having two.
K.Nice spacious rooms, all the amenities you could want. Sky tv, large flat screen in the lounge, good Wi-Fi coverage. The bistro food is very good and the PAK restaurant is delicious. The on site tavern had over 20 craft beers on tap with several of them made on site. Lovely garden bar to enjoy the sun while having something to eat and drink
