F.Ribs were fine, if a little pricey for the portion size. Kids nachos were really good. Pork belly was nice. Dessert kind of let it all down. Kids sundae is a small bowl of a scoop of ice cream, topping and sprinkles (as you would expect), and a perfect size for a child. $10.50 though? The adult dessert of brownie and/or cheesecake is $12.50 - more reasonably priced than the kids one. Cheesecake was VERY grainy - and shouldn't have been. Hence only 3 stars. Staff were great.
l.Very nice vibe. Beautifully decorated. Very friendly staff. Amazing pizza, probably one of the best pizzas that I've ever had. Super fresh ingredients.

D.Food was surprisingly good ! Definitely recommend the pork belly and mazzola’s pizza! Chips were average, just strange how the aioli sauce was in served in a disposable saucer... There were big groups so service has been compromised. The restaurant itself is quite pleasant

S.Food was great, portion sizes in restaurant part a bit small though. Went following night to lounge bar, portion sizes of the bar food was great, cocktails were great, was hard getting a drink though as rugby was on and all staff were helping out in the public bar. All in all it was a great place prompting us to return the second night.
H.Kumara fries were delicious, as was the pizza and potato fries. But service when we arrived could have been better. No reception at all. Confusion. And no reply to 3 emails I sent regarding reservation of a table.
F.Great spot for leisurely lunch or drop in for a beverage on a hot summer afternoon. We walked there; supped the ciders and hot chips which were yummy whilst the children played. Swings and a climbing frame kept them busy. Great outdoors area and friendly staff. The Pirates of Bohemia are set up in the pub grounds so you can do a spot of shopping in-between. Lovely way to while away a couple of hours.
J.Four of us had dinner at the Mazzolas restaurant there a few weeks ago. The food was sensational! I'd even venture to say that the Mazzola pizza I had was one of the best ever. My wife had the Gnocchi which was cooked to perfection as was our friends Scotch fillet and Paparadelle ragu. The prices were reasonable and the service was very good with friendly and attentive staff . Will definitely return here again, well worth a visit.

M.Had 2 good meals there today ( 1st of January) and yesterday, both lunches. Tasty food, friendly service, we were really pleased they took the trouble of opening on the 1st of January. I found things much improved in the last 2 years.

A.Lovely service on a Friday afternoon!! Kitchen and front of house staff at Mazzola’s went out of their way to make sure we were well fed despite the awkward timing - and the food was absolutely delicious! Nice stylish spot and would definitely recommend. Thanks guys :)
S.This place is very reminiscent of the Coroglen Tavern, in that it has the same outdoor beer garden vibe and live music. The bar tender was a cool cat who chatted with us for a while and poured my drink correctly without having to even ask (whiskey and dry). We will definitely be back when we are out that way again, what a great place to stop off on your way in or out of Waihi Beach.
C.Excellent food, excellent service, relaxed atmosphere. What more could you want? The room was cozy and spotlessly clean with view over the garden. We really enjoyed just sitting outside relaxing before a business trip and made sure to stop there again on the way back.
I.Mozzolas is probably one good example of simple flavour done right, we visited the resturant twice in a week and were not disappointed on both occasions.
The entee was a raw fish with spring onion which matched extraordinarily well together.
the farmers pizza was by far my favourite, the arrangement and it's ingredients speaks for their thoughtfulness and passion - the lamb was tender and flavourful from just the right amount of fat, followed by the simple taste of cheese and tomato (if you eat pizza like a sane person - from the pointy end).
The scotch fillet on our second visit was equally impressive, complemented by a cauliflower purée and jus that balanced well together with the meat, to top off the great food their staff makes sure their guests have a good time there.
I look forward to visit Mozzolas again soon.

K.Amazing dinner and lunch at Mazzola’s. The carbonara is, hands down, the best I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommend trying out the latest (& in my opinion) best restaurant offering that the Waihi Beach Hotel have had.
A.Went to the Hotel's Bistro with friends and 2 children for dinner.Thekids had a play on the playground within the hotels grounds. Got them hungry and they quickly went through one of their excellent large Pizzas. I had fish of the day that tasted like it had just been caught that morning. Meal and service was excellent . Recommended.
L.Loved Mazzola's Restaurant! I was sceptical to go here because I have the opinion that anyone can make good Italian, but everything was delicious and I absolutely loved the food. Get the stuffed pork with risotto! The Tiramisu was huge and delicious, great value for money! Everything was clean and the staff were friendly. Our kids loved the kids pizzas and the playground. We definitely will be coming back for more and bringing our friends too!
S.Beautiful setting and it's great that they have a children's playground set so the kids could be secure, overseen by their parents who could also "socialise." Menu is good but it was really disappointing that everyone else must have liked my choices as they'd run out by the time I ordered. However the alternatives were good too
M.I have been going to this pub on and off for 40 years and it has never looked as good as now. The owners have transformed it into a welcoming place for young and older...gorgeously decorated with great cocktail bar restaurant and outdoor activity area with lots of fruit and olive trees and interesting coffee and beer stalls and kids playground. Well done and congrats guys!!

From the formal Italian restaurant, to the cosy cocktail bar and relaxed pub there’s something for everyone!
C.We are fairly regular customers at the Beach restaurant and usually the food, service and experience is of a very good standard. However last night’s experience was very disappointing. We had a guest with us who made a comment on the standard of dress of the waitresses and how wearing shorts for a dinner service was far from professional - one girl ,in particular, looked like she’d come straight from the gym or beach. We had to agree. The actual service was pleasant and reasonably prompt. Two out of three of our meals were satisfactory but my husband didn’t feel the his meal fulfilled the description on the menu. -this complaint was shared with a staff member and our bill appropriately adjusted.
A shame given that the restaurant is reasonably popular at the beach.
Perhaps standards of dress etc need to be reviewed.

M.Drove up to Waihi Beach on Monday and needed lunch. Lots of places closed, fortunately some ladies suggested Waihi Beach Hotel, so off we went. easy to find because it is on the main road up past the town center. My wife ordered lamb shoulder and I ordered a fish burger with chips. The chips turned out to be kumara and not potato and were delicious. The fish burger was tasty and my wife loved the tender lamb shoulder. Food was great. Service was friendly and cheerful. we were glad to try the place and will go back again.
N.This is the first place we come to for dinner every time we come down on holiday. Awesome food. Handmade gelato is the best! My husband also makes a special trip here for the iced coffee.

T.A great way to spend the afternoon or more! The Waihi Beach Hotel has a excellent indoor/outdoor flow with both areas being very comfortable. The children's playground and open grass area are also a good addition. Worth a day trip to visit or if your in Waihi Beach or near by take the time to have a drink and meal here. The food is on par with many other great eateries and the service is excellent.
S.Lovely Huge hotel. We went into restaurant for lunch, we didn't book walk in off the road. Service was great, staff were very friendly and did there job well. Our meals were delicious.
S.They were very obliging and fitted us in which was great as we were a group of seven. Food was delicious and staff was able to deal with the humour at our table. Very pleasant evening.
L.I have only been there for coffees but the staff are friendly and efficient. It is spacious so you are not sitting on each other's laps. There is also a lovely ice cream parlour attached.
D.Hvnt been to Waihi Beach for some time. Used to be involved in a rock band in the mid 80s called Old Crow and played at the Waihi Beach Hotel. Very awesome memories. My partner n I stopped in on the the spur of the moment heading back to Puhoi after a weekend down Tauranga. Hotel had a band/ jam session happening ( every Sunday I believe). Ended up staying, booked a room at hotel, ate at the restaurant. Met the locals, great bunch of people. Jam was amazing. Some of the locals remembered Old Crow band. Bar staff were tops. Restaurant was very delicious. Met the owner, very nice . We had a fantastic night. Highly recommend especially jam Sunday arvo. Rock n Roll.
