N. O.The Staff. Hands down, the staff interaction with guests is on point. The restaurant serves amazing food. The room was nice and tidy, with great water pressure, but it lacked a 5 star feel. We had a door between rooms and felt there was a little "noise leakage" However, I understand the hotel was fully booked, and we were grateful to have a room. The view is nice, and the balcony is a relaxing place to sit with a coffee.
We are locals and regularly frequent the restaurant. The staff and the food make it. You guys are awesome.
P. M.The staff here are wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. I also loved having my meals from the kitchen delivered to my room. Only took 15min from the time I ordered, to the time it got to my room. My bathroom hadn't been reset properly upon arrival but nothing worth complaining about. The price of the room was definitely overpriced. If you don't absolutely require a bigger room, get the smaller one. It isn't really worth the added cost. Otherwise I'd happily stay again. Aircon was a life saver

T. S.The customer service was absolutely Amazing and there is nothing you can fault with the customer service and the clean tidy appearance the workers have. The room was not what I expected - it was clean and tidy - just not what I had expected with it being a premium room. We ordered only breakfasts the two nights we stayed - first morning we absolutely loved our breakfast and have since raved to our friends about it. Second
morning one was as Delish as the first morning but unfortunately the second one was a bit of a flop (could be my fault with the coffee as I made a unusual request that they had not heard of before (dirty chai) but was very undrinkable). The water pressure was absolutely amazing and you did get a slight view of the oceans. Balcony was cute but a bit small to actually enjoy time on it. When you arrive it is very welcoming and it is right to the end. But 5 stars to the actually workers that work there and the wonderful owner. Not many places have amazing staff like they do here.

M. S.The more expensive rooms are nicely appointed but there is no range hood over the hob, the numbers where all worn off the controls and the smoke alarm was less than 2 meters away. We burned the food thinking we had the element on low (one click to the right) but it was maximum. The owners came and told us it costs $400 to get the alarm reset.
The water pressure is super high and the taps are stiff so first time you use the water you get wet.
The motel has a spa pool but you have to pay extra to use it for half an hour.
The cheaper room upstairs gets the sun so was super hot at the end of the day. No aircon and the windows only open a fraction.
S.Food is delicious and staff are amazing. The night we went there was a false fire alarm set back which was OK. Staff handled it well and we were only set back 10min. However we still waited 2 hours for our mains and they kept getting my sons order incorrect. My partner and I canceled our mains because we got tired and hungry and the kids were over it after the long wait. The rest of the family enjoyed most of their meals. Our appetizers were delicious. Might have been a bad night for the chef or low staff. Therefore overall experience not too bad.
R. S.What wonderful accommodation in a beautiful spot. The service is outstanding - such lovely team from reception all the way through to the adjacent restaurant. Bedding was so comfortable and we got to enjoy the spring sun on the balcony, we'll have to stay in summer and get the chance to use the beautiful looking pool. Clean, comfortable mid-price accommodation, but the customer experience is what makes this an easy 5 star rating!

A. J.Was so impressed with the customer service, everyone was so friendly and so professional, we felt so welcome. The hotel is super clean, rooms are so comfortable and bathroom sneaky clean. Only thing is interior may be a tad outdated but I personally did not mind it. They have a nice pool outside which would be nice in the summer. I was really impressed with the food from their restaurant, food was so tasty and they cater to everyone. Prices of food may appear a tad pricey but it's definitely a place where you come to have a nice meal so is worth it for sure. The garden is beautiful and parking available outside. 1 min away from new world and local shops, great location.

When we finally arrived she asked if we needed to put anything in the dryer she was amazing. We went and had a meal in the restaurant and the food and service was outstanding. While this is not a new hotel the facilities were clean, spacious and comfortable - lovely views from the balcony as well. The staff were extremely obliging and friendly. We were very impressed with all our meals at the restaurant there and felt they were modestly priced. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

H. N.My Animates Pet store team of 10 and I had dinner and drinks, I'm very well travelled internationally and was amazed by how great the food was, the chef and their team made us feel so special..this is what customer service is about.
Every one enjoyed the meals and the deserts, and the wonderful cocktails made by one of the young ladies.

C. J.Overall, not too bad a place to stay but it is so dated now and hasn't got much going. I feel if you were staying off season there is very little to do here. I also think it's slightly overpriced for what you get and again I think that's a tourist trap.
The staff were nice and friendly but some were quite young and dint really know much when asked questions.
Overall, I don't want to bag this place too much, it's a good place to stay if you are just looking for a pillow to put your head on!

C. A.The staff at Flames Comfort are very accommodating, its been a pleasure staying each time. I stay here regularly for work and highly recommend this over others in Whangarei. The rooms have great views over the harbour, there is a great pool area and the restaurant cooks great meals (try the bacon wrapped chicken with pilaf). There are also great conference facilities and the Lava Bar looks like a perfect function area set in the outdoor garden

A.Central Whangarei and my usual place I stay was completely booked out and I found this hotel by chance and it would now be my place of choice when staying again for business in whangarei. Lots of nice amenities and I imagine it would also be a great place for a family holiday.

It's a pretty good night when a table of four all love their entrees mains and desserts. Pretty cool to see such a wide variety of gourmet ice creams that can be added to your dessert for just 2.00
A.Excellent staff manager at front desk, clean beading, good tv , nice and clean but shower head was just to short for us couldn’t have a relaxing shower as the shower was to short for anyone over 5”6.
A.Delightful view, facilities are very clean and customer service was exceptional. Smart TV with access to Sky, Netflix and ability to move the TV around. Spa was hot, clean and the highlight of the stay. The flame grilled steak was distinctive but the overall meal was below par and disappointing due to no salad and oily chips. However, it was busy and they did not disappoint to serve us with a smile.
A.This hotel is clean and the staff are all very helpful. The rooms are being refurbished however still clean and tidy. My pet hate are those horrible top covers that some hotels put on. You know they are not washed and they wrap them round your pillows, NONE OF THAT HERE VERY HAPPY :)

Tom and his crew were so amazing from day one 9 months ago till the day we departed. Tom is a pleasure to deal with. Nothing was every a problem and he always had a smile and calm manner. It was truly a blessing to have him help us plan our special day. It was the most magical day. He is so accomodating. We highly recommend this hotel. The staff are more than 5 stars. R. H.I love it here...staff are brilliant friendly and they remember ..nothing is to small or to big to do. Im here often for business in Whangarei . So its far enough away from town and close enough as well. Dairy,takeaways, bus stops are 100 metres up the road. 2 mins away from Airport and staff are happy to shuttle you.
Hats off to the Chef ..love the menu and they must review it regularly ..because its changed in the last 4 months. Scenery and views from the balcony are beautiful.
