Staff in the Ponsonby store are really friendly, helpful, honest - the whole process is extremely efficient. Have had two pairs of OW glasses for a couple of years, great value and product. Got two more pairs this week and, again, excellent frames, no hassle at all getting them within 7 working days (in spite of delays everywhere with couriers during pandemic). Highly recommend.

I've been to many different Optometrists and this is the first time I've been asked specifically about my lifestyle and the type of work I do when getting my eyes tested. Ernest took all of this into account and actually discussed my preferences with me when he was considering what to prescribe. It was quite a different experience for me and I really appreciated it. He also went the extra mile to offer advice on my contact lense prescription despite the fact that they don't sell them. The girls at the front were also quite lovely to deal with. I will go back again and will recommend to my friends and family.

Came in for a quick eye test after some eye strain due to using the laptop more during lockdown. Great service and really informative! Optometrist explained everything that might be going on in great detail. Helped put my mind at ease that everything was OK.

Amazing service, particularly during the holiday period. I visited for an eye test following a GP recommendation. Appointment booking process was instant and my eye examination was professional, efficient and informative. The eye drops suggested and reassurance has provided 5 star customer satisfaction. What an incredible service! I arrived at the Ponsonby store, already discouraged by having gone through several other stores and the service was not good. I had already done an exam in another store, but I didn't buy glasses with them because I didn't like the service. Entering the Oscar store in Ponsonby, I felt the difference. I felt comfortable inside the shop, to try all the models I wanted without having someone bothering me. After that, I took the free exam and what a difference! Much more complete than the other store and the worst: the other store did a WRONG exam! I felt very comfortable at the store and my glasses were ready in less than 2 weeks. In addition, Oscar has a variety of options for those with a rounder face, for being overweight, unlike other stores. I would love to recommend this store to everyone who seeks excellent service, fair price and several model options!

Amazing experience worth OW Ponsonby. I went to them based on these google reviews. The staff are so helpful without being overbearing and were honest about what suited my face shape l which I needed as i haven’t worn glasses in a long time. The have a huge range of specs and sunnies so there is something for everyone. I’m so happy with the two pairs of specs I got and for the price I paid (did a lot of shopping around) and will continue to pass on my recommendations of OW to everyone. Thanks guys ! Came for a stye problem and an eye assessment. Had a very nice experience, very friendly staff, on the phone and in store. Ernest was really nice and helpful. Strongly recommend!

Had superb experience purchasing glasses here. Steven was super helpful, patient and informative regarding my eye condition during the eye test that came free with the package. The team was super friendly but also gave you lots of space and time to try on whatever you want. I received my glasses and sunglasses back super quick as well, was expecting 3 weeks and only took about a bit more than a week. The deal is very decently priced for the amount of selections you can choose from. Would definitely recommend all our friends to come!

Went there today morning. The guy who did my eye exam (he said his name was Earnest I think) did an amazing eye test. Is the First time I’ve had these many tests done as a part of an eye test. Need to go through the results myself, they mail it to you. The Earnest guy was crazy well mannered/pleasant to deal with. The people at the store were equally easy to deal with, it’s not often that I feel every staff at a place welcomes me as well as these guys did. The only negative was I couldn’t find a frame I was totally satisfied with. But I’m really glad they didn’t pressurize me into buying ones that I weren’t happy with. I’m going to browse a few more shops but if I don’t find a better frame I’ll be ordering from these guys for sure.

I tore a contact lens, part of which remained in my eye and I couldn't get it out. They saw me straight away and removed it - fabulous service, highly recommend.

I went there to have an eye test and get new glasses. The optometrist was great. Thank you for the test and explanation. I am very happy with their price and service. Definitely like to recommend to others!

There are heaps of awesome frames in the shop. I had a wonderful experience in this store. I asked the lady in the store to recommend a frame for me. The one she picked is the best frame I have ever seen on my face (I have tried like dozens frames by myself in other stores). She is very patient and welcoming. She gave her honest opinion about your choice, good is good and not suitable is not suitable, which is really helpful. Combined with her good aesthetic feeling, best service ever! I would stick to this store. Recommend to everyone.

This store really shows me what an excellent customer service means: warm welcoming, detailed information and efficient help for choosing my glasses. And not mention they also have heaps of good glasses. I would highly recommend to my friends and come back here again!

Came in for an eye test last week and was looked after from start to finish. Could not have asked for better customer service! I cannot talk up this place enough. Best optometrist I've ever been to, he even helped me pick out glasses. It was during Level 2 so they also had to wipe every single pair I tried on and I think I tried on every pair in the shop. Staff was great and so was the price ($249 for 2 x pairs). I can see below that someone got on here and gave them one star for bad service. I can tell you this person has NEVER been to Oscar Wylee.

Purchased a pair of glasses a few months ago from OW. Outstanding customer service and very affordable products! Very sad to see these 1 star reviews when those people have obviously not visited the store or purchased anything. The staff are outstanding, will be coming back in the future for sure! Keep up the good work! :)

Amazing Staff, very friendly and approachable, fantastic customer service. The shop was fairly small but the service was beyond my expectations. They are very knowledgeable and patient at explaining every bits of details about my eyes. Very hygienic as well, they wipe every machine i'll use and the glasses i've tried before putting it back on the shelf. They helped me with choosing my glasses, and tells me if it suits my face shape or not. Never going back to my old optometrist! Reasonably priced, with wide variety of frames. Went out the shop extremely happy. Highly recommend! 10/10

The team are very patient, skilful and give you honest advice. I’ve never met anyone more honest as them. They will tell you if a frame does not look great on you, and I love that. Tired of the assistants who say you look good just to sell you their product. Will definitely recommend them anyone who needs another pair of eyes. Steven the optometrist at Ponsonby was amazing, very thorough and considerate. The staff were helpful, they carry a good range of frames and are very reasonably priced.

All these one star reviews because they didn't let sooky Collins in. All you national right wing people putting comments on here because of that are pathetic. They did the right thing. ‘Customers’ citing the leader of the opposition being refused entry, on the grounds of political motivation, are entitled to their opinion, but it’s uninformed. She was refused entry due to OW adhering to Auckland’s level 2 social distancing rules. The leader of the opposition was more than aware of the rules and would have anticipated this. But to those dishing out the 1 star reviews to based on your political ‘values’, keep up with the boycott threats and various other lines of upset you feel necessary to write (which people will only read for the purpose of entertainment). It never fails to amuse me just how many people make assumptions, without knowing the facts and details. 5 stars for putting staff and the public’s safety first

The staff were very professional and helpful. They really knew what they were talking about and gave me some really helpful thoughts when i was trying to decide what glasses to buy. Will definately be back for my next perscriptions
