I was recommended here by a friend and was very happy with the level of service and extent they went to to make my 15 year old teenager comfortable and understand what they were doing. She explained everything in detail to her. We will definitely be returning to Bailey Nelson and wished I changed a long time ago. We've been seeing optometrists since she was 5 annually and best yet. Thank you she loves her new glasses 🤓

Excellent service. Friendly staff. Shop was busy & staff asked what I was interested in & pointed me in the right direction. Was looking for sunglasses & they offered a good range from the ones on special to the more expensive types. Staff advised that if you try on a pair of glasses to put them in a small basket be cleaned. If you are interested in a pair to hold on to them until you have made your final decision. There was the scan in process available. I purchased a nice pair of glasses & requested the pricing on the glasses cases as there were two options. Updated my contact details on final purchase & checked with staff when I Had my last eye check & verified those details. Last eye check was completed in 2015.

The only downside is that when I went to pick up my glasses once they were ready they had mucked up my frames meaning now I’ve got to wait another couple weeks for them to do it right. The lady I dealt with was very polite but my issue with the money I have spent on glasses and the ones I got fixed to a new lens still hasn’t solved my issue I tried them when I am knitting but I am also watching tv and I can’t do both. So like I told the lady I dealt with I would give them a try and I did. But If I want to just knit it is a bit clearer but I’d I want to knit and watch tv can’t do it as it is all blurry and gives me a head ache moving back and forth to knitting and watching tv

Great selection of glasses and the service was amazing. Was given good advice on which pair as well as got my measurements taken and confirmed my prescription. After visiting a number of optometrists in my home town I just hadn't been able to make a decision on the frames for my first pair of progressives. Whilst on holiday in Christchurch I had also looked at different options in other stores. Everything changed when I walked into Bailey Nelson, I was welcomed immediately and within 20 or so minutes I had chosen 2 pairs of opticals and a pair of sunglasses. Service was phenomenal and they arrived within 2 weeks (would have been sooner if not for Easter) and next time I'm in Christchurch I will definitely be going back to their store.

I made an appt same day, the appt started within 3 min of me arriving (I was a bit early), and it was finished 10 min earlier than expected! She was super sweet, very knowledgeable, and let me ask all the questions as I thought of them. I knew I need glasses for better vision, but for the purposes I was there, my sight is good enough to not have to buy them right now! (Someday soon I am likely to, but I was pleased that she wasn't trying to push me to buy glasses!) The prescription she recommends is saved in the system so that when I decide to get them I can!

About the glasses, just a handful of styles is enough with a variety of colours to satisfy style. Usually anti glare treatment is as standard on already an reasonably priced product.
