H. D.Staff were friendly, polite etc. Eye test was affordable. Optometrist however did seem a bit inexperienced, my vision hasn't changed enough to warrant a new prescription but if it did I'd be a bit concerned about its accuracy.

There are variety of frames to choose from which we can decide the style we like. They also help us decided the one that suits us if we are unsure! I usually use Opsm as they accept my southern cross insurance but I couldn’t find anything there that I could fall in love with and their staff were having a bad day and weren’t very helpful.
So while walking to my car I passed Bailey Nelson and thought… “They’re probably too expensive… but I’ll go in and see if something is on sale”.
HOW WRONG WAS I!!
They accept my Southern Cross Insurance!
They are super affordable!
And they are Fashionable and CUTE!
I was also won over by the staff who were super helpful and friendly. They made me feel comfortable and at easy trying on lots of glasses but we’re very knowledgeable and intuitive on what would suit me.
I’m converted! Will only get my glasses here from now on!! Thank you guys!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Earlier in the year I went to your Riccarton branch in Christchurch and your worker Georgia did an absolutely phenomenal job of helping me find glasses (I went with the transparent Harvey style!) and they’ve changed my life. J. D.Ordered my glasses when I was in store before lock down (Aug 2021). Store staff was very helpful and was receptive to what I was after. The team who answers online queries were also very helpful in clarifying when my glasses would arrive - I had them forwarded to my home. Glasses themselves are very stylish (Carrie 2) and seemed to be of good quality.

However that male optician who attended to me kept looking at his watch. At the third time he looked at his watch I asked if he was in a hurry and he gave the excuse that he was keeping time. I am sure my testing did not go beyond the allocated time. That's not good.
Another different point is I have to lean my eye against a "opening" to scan my eye before doing the eye test. I see that that eye piece is not wiped down either before or after being used. This is not right, esp in this covid period.

C. L.Staff are very nice and friendly. Upfront about fees and all that. I booked online and forgot to tell them that it was a contact lens appointment but they were nice about it and changed it for me when I got there.
Amy (I think that was her name) the optometrist did the tests very quick, but without compromising on the quality of her eye exams. So super fast and efficient. Didn't try to upsell to me or anything- my last optometrist told me I needed a contact lens for my left eye even though I have no short or long sightedness in that eye.
Would recommend! Shop looks cool as well :) Thank you!!!

A.I went to Bailey Nelson after hearing friends recommendations and doing some research online. I ended up going to the Riccarton branch and had such an amazing experience! The staff were friendly, helpful and patient. Very thorough too, and happy to answer any questions along the way (I had an eye test and chose my glasses after). There were so many unique styles and finishes of glasses which was what also originally appealed to me. I was surprised to find all of the styles I had been looking at online were in store, it was great to try them on without any guesswork. They were all reasonably priced and of good quality too. I felt really comfortable and it was definitely the best retail experience I've had. Can't wait for my glasses to arrive, thank you!

I had a free eye test and choose to add an additional $60 retina scan, found out I was a bit short sighted which explained alot and managed to get two pairs of same style frames in two different colours and lenses with blue light filters for under $500 due to the promo which I was stoked about. My frames and lenses arrived in half the expected time which was even better, so I'm now bespectacled and seeing far better, thanks Bailey Nelson!
