Totally recommend going to southern optical Trent has been amazing to my two boys that have been trouble from the start. Trent has been so patient and through with them it's always such a pleasure to be there. Trent and his amazing team always go over and above for us and we are so thankful we chose Southern Optical

Such a pleasant experience! Trent was very thorough, explained each step and answered all my questions. My eyes were perfect but they also have a great range of sunglasses so I got a cool pair of those.

I took my three kids into Southern Optical and Trent tested their eyes. I was really impressed with the personalised service and the way Trent explained his findings. All the equipment was new and modern, as was the decor. Even though we didn't need glasses today there was a fantastic selection of frames and sunglasses available that we enjoyed browsing. I have no trouble recommending Trent and his team and will definitely be visiting Southern Optical again.

I had to visit an optometrist whilst on holiday and my cousin recommended Trent at Southern Optical. Great set up and I was impressed with the equipment - more up to date and comfortable than what my optometrist in Auckland uses (I hate the usual puffer thing to check the eye pressure for example). Trent took extra time to check the status of my previous retinal detachment which was much appreciated. He was very professional and thorough and it’s a shame he’s at the other end of NZ and can’t be my regular optometrist!

Definitely recommend Southern Optical. The shop is clean and modern, and manages to have an abundance of excellent stylish frames to choose from without being overwhelming. The exam was thorough and professional and Trent explained everything in a very clear, plain way without me ever feeling pressured. Will happily go back for my next exam.

The very latest testing equipment is just one reason you should visit Trent at Southern Optical. I'm from Auckland and Southern Optical's testing equipment is light years ahead of my previous Auckland optometrist's equipment. I've never seen a peripheral vision testing machine before. I will be travelling south again for my two yearly test. Very professional service and a very welcoming environment, why would you go anywhere else. Just a quick update, glasses arrived at my Auckland address today, super-fast delivery, I look 10 years younger (well I think so) and they are really clear, thank you Southern Optical :-)

Excellent service. Thorough eye exam on impressive modern equipment. Trent clearly explained the physiology behind the test results, the implications for my vision, and the pros and cons of any corrective treatment. The shop stock of frames is extensive and contemporary. Bonus points for kids toys in the exam room!

Took my 4 year old in to see Trent and couldn’t rate our experience more highly. She was very nervous and tearful when we got there but relaxed within minutes. Trent’s way of interacting with kids really put her at ease and the testing process was super straightforward and child friendly. Thoroughly recommend people take their wee kids here! I heard about Trent and Southern Optical through my old Plunkett baby mumma pals. I was worried our 2.5yr old was having problems. Trent did such an excellent job with her and managed to get her to do all the tests with his fancy new tech equipment. My partner and I were so impressed and comfortable with Trent and Southern Optical that we both had our eyes tested too. The range of glasses and sunglasses are brilliant, I almost wanted him to find a problem with my eyes!

I had an incident on my building site and needed an optometrist to make sure I had not done any permanent damage to my right eye. Carmen was able to slot me in after the current patient even though I had no appointment. I have never seen such modern equipment in an Optometrist before. Trent was fantastic and took his time to test me properly, explaining the whole process. I was blown away with the service and professionalism here and highly recommend anyone looking for an optometrist to try Southern Optical. My family and I will not be going anywhere else from now on. Trent tested my eyes on his new equipment and suggested I go to a specialist with a view to having my cataracts operated on. On his recommendation I went to a specialist who confirmed Trent's diagnosis, and instructed it be done as soon as possible. Awaiting lens from Germany now. Thank you Trent you're a champion. Janet
