I had a great eye-test with Mimi Wong. She is great at explaining clearly, but very specifically what is going on with your eyesight. She explained things about how my eyes each operate differently and have different strengths, that I have never known before. I was also impressed with all the new state of the art diagnostic equipment this branch of OPSM has recently invested in. I can be confident my eyes are working and aging well, and even that my sight has actually improved!

Mimi my Optometrist is amazing. She is thorough, meticulous in her checks, answers all questions & concerns clearly and takes her time to explain things.

I had a fantastic experience with this store, particularly Mimi Wong, the ophthalmologist. Whilst on holiday I suffered a serious bout of iritis and needed immediate treatment. Opsm were the only place that we’re prepared to see me at short notice and even stayed open late to deal with me. The treatment was very thorough and efficient and ultimately saved me from a 5 hr drive to a hospital and painful eye injections. Thanks Opsm and Mimi!

Mimi was great with our 7 year old, she made her really relaxed & created an enjoyable experience. Our daughter needed eye drops that really hurt, Mimi made it fun for her & less stressful for Mum.

Such an incredible experience at OPSM from start to finish. Mimi, the optometrist, was so incredible and patient. She did a very thorough eye exam for me, explaining everything along the way, then at my contact lense fitting was so patient and helpful when I struggled putting the contacts in for the first time (I finally did it!) The entire staff, but especially Mimi, made me feel so comfortable and taken care of. Cannot reconnect OPSM more for your eye exams and general vision care. Great glasses selections too!

Mimi Wong is amazing! I’ve previously tried contact lenses before in other Opticians but struggled to get the hang of it. I was motivated to try one more time and with Mimi’s teaching she made it so easy and comfortable for me to get the contacts in and out whilst also explaining so much information about them. The pricing is also very reasonable, I look forward to using my $49 voucher on new contact lenses :)

Mimi Wong at the OPSM in Queenstown was extremely helpful when I had broken my glasses while on holiday and needed some emergency contact lenses. She was very professional and explained everything very well. I got my eyes tested and had some new contact lenses within half an hour. Mimi was extremely thorough and made the process very fun. 5 stars highly recommend A++

Amazing customer service all the way... any questions we had were answered professionally and with a smile...Frankton has a great range of frames to choose from ... Michael was honest and advised us on the best lens choices , we would definitely recommend OPSM.

Was forced to write this review by the staff. Just kidding. Jokes aside, this is the first time I’ve ever got a pair of glasses done overseas. Walked into OPSM randomly, was just hoping to get some inspiration for a new pair of glasses. They were the first shop I walked into, and the one I ended up buying from. I didn’t felt that I had to look elsewhere. Staff service was excellent. They were very helpful in providing their personal recommendation in helping me choose the right frame design, and at the same time left me in my own space with the freedom to look around. I felt that the recommendations given were genuine, and it didn’t felt like they were trying to push me to buy anything. They could also ship to another OPSM store anywhere in NZ, or to a residential address, which was very convenient for me since I was only passing by Queenstown for a few days. Went over my budget with the purchase but felt that it was worth it.

Amazing optometrist and fantastic staff, professional and helpful. A great experience overall, I can highly recommend this team. Good product range, found exactly what I like.

The whole team are great.. extremely pleasant and helpful, particularly Mimi, who diagnosed my detached retina, after a doctor in town had already seen me and thought it was fine. She definitely saved my sight and arranged all my emergency treatment in Dunedin and Christchurch and was extremely helpful throughout the whole process from start to finish. After my surgery in Christchurch, discharge from hospital and being given the ok at a follow up in Dunedin Hospital, I was extremely lucky to ask to see Mimi again when I thought things weren't quite right. Mimi immediately noticed something else nobody else had - my retina was only partially fixed and still detached. Potentially saving my sight once again. Another two rounds of treatment in Dunedin hospital and i'm good again. I will be having checks every six months from now on and will not hesitate about going to visit OPSM Queenstown and asking to see Mimi from now on. Through experience in dealing with Mimi's patients, the leading eye surgeon in Dunedin also mentioned how good she is and is very confident leaving me in her good hands. Thank you OPSM Queenstown and special thanks to Mimi. Not sure how anybody can have a bad experience here.

I had trouble with another local optometrist who really rushed me through, Mimi from Opsm on the other hand is awesome. Always has time for me and does a great job. I'm a happy OPSM customer. - Ben

Excellent attention. Very helpful. My father had a very serious eye condition and they helped and treated us like family. Dr Mimi Wang is an amazing human being. We are deeply thankful.

I was visiting Queenstown on my honeymoon and thought my recurring corneal erosion was acting up. I saw Mimi who determined I actually had a serious case of iritus, which is an emergency situation. She wrote me the necessary prescriptions to treat the iritus and saw me again 4 days later. Her treatment worked and my iritus cleared up. The visit was inexpensive and she was able to see me right away which I was so thankful for! As an American on vacation, it can be difficult to find a doctor on short notice. Mimi was absolutely spectacular and I highly recommend her!

Visiting from Tauranga and my lens came out of my new glasses. Fantastic service from Queenstown branch, fixed, cleaned and was on my way in 10 mins. Thanks

My optometrists of choice over many many years. Now located on a city-like side street off Grants Rd (Google Maps was not helpful on this occasion). A big thank you to Graeme Cole, who has looked after my eyes for decades now. Also to the two lovely staff members who assisted me when I visited in September; Jasmin and Kayleigh. They were so patient and helpful in as I chose new glasses - not a cheap or easy choice with my eyesight, so their knowledgeable advice was much appreciated. Highly recommended professionals.

Had severe discomfort in my eye for over 48 hours and they got my in with little notice and quickly got to the cause of it. Mimi was very helpful and took care of everything. Thank you so much!!

Mimi Wong is a total eye saver. I tolerated blurry vision in my left eye for sometime thinking it was just a new pair of glasses i was after. Ended up being an Retinal vein occlusion where it was hemorrhaging into the back of my eye. What a mess, could have lost my sight. Thanks to Mimi quick diagnosis she sent me straight off to John Bowbyes Ophthalmologist in Frankton. Eyesight may take a while but at least i was saved from eminent blindness.People are quick to go to Doctors for check ups so please never ever forget your eyes.

Had an eye emergency while on vacation In Queenstown. Called OPSM first thing when they opened. They scheduled me with Mimi Wong a half hour later. She diagnosed a torn retina and consulted experts in Dunedin and concurrently scheduled an immediate appointment with Dr. Bowbyes an ophthalmologist in Queenstown. He fixed the torn retina. All amazing considering I was a long ways from home in the USA.. The entire staff at OPSM is very professional . They even walked me to the taxi stand.

I had not been to OPSM before and decided to give it a go - Mimi was very efficient and knowledgeable and I came out knowing a lot more about my eyes and with a new pair of specs on the way - ones that I absolutely love. I will definitely be returning.
