Albert does a great job keeping my hair looking great - which can be challenging for hair like mine. Highly recommend if you've got quite fine hair. I've had a variety of cuts, and they grow out well.

My first visit to Essex Hair and Beauty and my most delightful stylist, Kimmy, achieved the cut I wished for. I look forward to my next appointment in 6 weeks time.

I don’t live in Auckland but that’s where I found my perfect hairdresser on a trip in December! I had very, very long hair and needed a change. Kimmy cut it, balayaged it and tinted it to ash just like in my dreams, without damaging it at all (actually, all the opposite!). I’m in Auckland again this week, so I came back to lighten my hair some more and fix my fringe. It’s amazing, I love it! And everyone is extremely nice and caring, in a nice relaxing setting. Perfection!

Kimmy is an amazing hairdresser She's thorough and pays incredible attention to detail. She's lovely and very professional. She made my hair look great.I would recommend Kimmy to anyone

Excellent Service from Kimmy, i forgot how beautiful my wife was before till the team at Essex Hairdressing transformed my wife into a new lady. wife has had bad previous experience with other hairdressers which i wont mention who they are, she kept changing her mind about getting a new hairstyle because of previous experience so a BIG THANK YOU TO ESSEX HAIRDRESSING for giving my wife back that confidence she had lost. Very disappointed with my recent visit here. I quite clearly showed pictures of how I normally have my hair and the consultant, Kimmy, went inches way too short than I wanted. I told her it was too short by the time it was too late and was made to feel like it was my fault. Really not worth the money when I've had to come home and re-cut myself. Really disappointed as I'd read so many other good reviews. EDIT: I was contacted by the owners and asked to come back in. Albert saw to me this time and did an amazing job in correcting the previous work. Will definitely be coming back.

Saw a lot of good reviews in google so i booked an appointment with Albert few weeks ago. Got a perfect styled cut i was looking for and he recommended me to use Living proof restore sampoo and conditioner for my hair. After a few wash i can see my hair looking more healthier. Thank you Albert for a great hair cut and your product recomendation for my hair type. Highly recomend this place to anyone wanting to get a styled cut 😊

Today I had the beautiful Kimmy give my hair a wash, style and straighten after finding a special on GrabOne. I hardly go to hairdressers because I never trust them to cut my hair the way I want, but Kimmy was different! She ensured I was comfortable by offering coffee and magazines when I walked through the door. It felt like a collaboration when we discussed what I wanted with my hair, as she combined my ideas with her experience (eg, encouraging to keep my hair a little longer than pictured because it's winter and she said my neck might get cold! lol). Additionally, she ensured to show/let me know what she was doing at each major step to confirm I was happy with it. Kimmys first language isn't english so I did ask her to repeat herself once or twice, but she is very kind and patient about it. If you're like me and have left salons time and again with a haircut you want to put a hat over, I recommend giving Essex a try.

I bought a Grabone voucher to give the salon a go, and was pleasantly surprised. Albert is amazing, best cut and colour I've had in years. Will definitely be back.
