I love event cinema so much, I wish there was more option for more movies like vmax and gold class. I really liked how in level 3, no one was allowed to sit directly in front of you, behind you, or next to you ( it's great not having people kicking the back of your chair. ) Obviously that has changed now but still great just wish they did also more options for frozen drinks as there is only frozen coke:)

The movie cinema ticket area & movie itself was MOST DEFINITELY "O" FOR AWESOME. GOLD CLASS need to work on their customer service skills. I got snubbed because her friends were more important, not making money for Albany Events cinemas.

Obviously I went for the Movie and had ordered my ticket online. Helpful young man checked my Vaccine Pass and showed me how to get my ticket. Very good experience and with no complaints at all.

It was a movie shown in Gold Class theater. Very comfortable seating and always separated so always safe. Great movie made it a wonderful time for us

Today was hubby's 28th Birthday and last minute we decided to watch a golden class movie. Very exited and ready to start I heard extremely vulgar language behind me, I turned to look and a few lads young 12-14 years old saying horrid things to eachother ( I do understand that teenage boys will be teenage boys ) after a few minutes they initiated a fight with eachother , they were screaming and swearing and it was had to listen to. I went to find the first available person I saw to assist, she immediately listen to what I had to say and walked with me to resolve the matter, the boys were given a warning and everything went great from there for about 20 min... It started again, the loud uncontrollable vulgar language , this time I felt like it was aimed at me personally because I was the one who ratted them out. They would laugh at me while I'm trying to take a bite of my food, making me feel very uncomfortable, they would flash their phone on certain parts of my body laugh as well. Instead of saying something this time I told myself this was just teenage boys thinking they are having a good time, my husband noticing everything, asked them through the couch to please stop and put their phones flashes off. One kid got up and kicked my husband's chair and laughed hysterically. My husband got up and went outside to speak to someone instead of me this time, the same lady , came in walking with my husband immediately asked them to please leave . I felt bad for the boys because I am human and I was a teenager once to but I also wasn't sorry because no human being could enjoy a movie in that space, the other people continuously looked up from their seats to see what the commotion was about. In the end of the day the movie didn't go as planned. But I wanted to thank the lady that helped us, heard us and immediately tried to assist us. I did not get a chance to see her name , despite it all we are very grateful of her customer service and we appreciated what she did. We will happily return for another golden class movie. Thank you

Staffs are always attentive. Great sound quality. Seats have enough leg room and comfortable... although a part of me hopes they have reclining seats :) Equipped with: convenient waiting areas, drinks and food outlets and coffee shops. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Would be better if tickets and food had different queues. Got our tickets early only to wait in line 15 minutes to get snacks and drinks just before the movie.

Great facility for young and old. The Gold Class Date Night is a unique experience, Tasty food Very friendly staff and comfortable viewing (if your electronic seat works....)

a bit worn, it definitely deserves a renovation. The popcorn bucket was huge, and unevenly seasoned...unless you are huge fan of popcorn, personally dont recommemd. Movie experience is fine, except way too may commercials at the beginning. I watched a PG animation, the trailer previews are of Geminiman..seriously doubt it suits the a bunch of young kids in the cinema.

Always a great movie experience. On the bottom floor there is a large lobby and Arcade. There are 8 normal and V-Max cinemas and 2 Gold class cinemas. Normal seats are best for price, V-Max includes day beads and recliner seats, and Gold Class includes large recliner seats with a bar and waiters always ready for your order. Food from the cinema is very expensive and you are not allowed to BYO. Overall a great cinema experience

Awesome venue to watch movies. The time zone being right next to it was also really good. Ice cream and popcorn are nice bit overpriced but as are all cinemas foods. Service was good. Been here a couple of times watching lots of different movies and its been clean inside the theatres and toilets too. Overall really good.

Dinner while watching a gold class movie makes a good date night. Would be perfect if a bit cheaper so we could go more often.

Clean, comfortable seating, sound excellent. But the price of tickets are astronomical. How can a family with 2 or 3 children afford to be able to go see a movie together. 2 adults and child of 7 paid over $50 we had senior discount passes plus .$15 for popcorn and M&Ns ( I would have given 5 stars if it was 2 adults but to expensive as a family.)

Watched Cruella. Great venue awesome movie. If you can afford it the Gold class is really worth it.. bottle of red. Snacks while we watched a great move with such a good sound track. Just go you won’t regret it..the venue and the service was just so goood...

Good place to watch movies as the seats are so wide and comfortable and with big armrests. Nice clear and big screen and surround sound. Only thing let it down with the cleanliness of the seats.

Good and comfortable setting. I booked thr recliner seat and was a good experience. The acoustics are really good though can get a little loud but definitely adds to the experience. Good cooling of the ac inside.

Great cinema, clean seats, nice staff. But the real gem is the arcade hidden behind the stairs. It would put most other arcades to shame. 20+ games of all descriptions including ticket machines and prizes.

I only went in to buy an ice cream. Chocolate with nuts. Expensive but nice

Great experiencing the Imax with a Lazaboy type seat for everyone! Had some pretty fun looking gaming machines in the foyer too. Would give it a 5 star but for the price of everything, nor have ever noticed how clean a movie theater is.

Over the moon with the fantastic Customer Service that was shown to me when. I inadvertently purchased 2 tickets and did not realize that the kids were on School Holidays. When I presented my tickets and my delema, the ticket times were adjusted to the following week. It was Airi that served me I think. This gave me a peaceful viewing.

This is our go-to cinema, the staff are always friendly and the seats themselves are usually pretty clean. Screen and sound quality are great although sometimes the theatre can get a bit too warm (but that's personal preference). VMAX is an amazing experience with a premium price tag but worth it in my opinion

Top Class Cinema to watch a good movie.

Went to see 1917 around two weeks after it premiered, on a Saturday. Ordered with the machine at the entrance and was allowed to select my seats. Cost $19 each which I feel it is a bit steep as I can get tickets in Whangaparoa for $12 but it is now my local. Seats were nice and comfy. Can’t tell you about the food as every single cinema nowadays seems to jack up the prices for sweets. Just refuse to pay it sorry. Sound and picture was good. I will say the people taking my tickets were lovely. That part of it is important to me. Anyway will go again I am sure.

A great venue in Gold class with really nice food. The portion sizes were big and fulfilling. The cinema itself was quite big and the seats were very comfortable. The movie started on time and we are seated on time. Overall good experience

The date night gold class tickets were great. Clean cinema, clean toilets. Only slight complaint is there are not tables to eat your food of choice over, only one in the middle of the recliners a bit too far away. food was good. I will be back again

Really wide choice of sweets, lollies and everything else to make your movie great! The toilets are a bit small only. The seats are super big and comfy, sound is great and the picture is always spot on!

Many movies to see with big screens and plenty of room and seta for everyone to see. Membership options and students and senior discounts are also available and helped me to make it more affordable

It wasn't very busy as we went there for a 3 pm movie. We haven't been to the movies since before lockdown. The theatre didn't look clean to us. Food residue on the seats & floor.

Generally good facilities and well maintained. Unfortunately on this visit the lift was not working and one of our party was infirm. Despite this being obvious (walker) no prior advice given when tickets purchased. Staff were helpful to give aid on the (very fast) escalator going up, but was left forgotten at the end of the movie. Embarrassing patrons is not a good look.

Had a date night with the gold class combo. Before entering the theatre your order is placed for your chosen drink, dinner and sundae dessert. The movie is watched in comfortable lazy boy chairs with your drink brought to you in the theatre followed by your meal and toward the end your sundae. Great service. Unfortunately my chosen chicken burger was on a very crusty bun creating a mess and tasted horrible. Other than that was a lovely experience.

Movies are real cool but the chairs have lots of stale popcorn between the cushions. Ick.

Very expensive, $55 for 2 adult tickets for big recliners which are just as good as Wairau recliners, but staff were lovely. Wonder Woman was an extremely cheesy movie for my tastes.

We got given a "Gold Class" gift card that was about to run out by 31st dec 2020 so we came to Albany Event Cinemas never been there before or Gold Class, I would throughly recommend especially for a Date Night 😀, ticket was for $120 you get a meal/dessert and a drink for 2 people (that's one of each) plus a movie in recliner chairs, we had our meal in the lounge bar but you can have your meals whilst watching the movie, would definitely be coming back , almost forgot ALL Staff are really nice/ friendly and helpful 🙌❤👏.

Always great here but expensive. Needs to be more family friendly with prices. Monterey in takapuna is $12.50, hard to beat that, but maybe if movies were a little cheaper more people would go.

Gold lounge, best seats, nice staff. Good drinks, OK food.

A very relaxing atmosphere at the cinema's, great staff working there and the overall service that you receive there is of high calibre and friendly staff always available to assist where necessary. Inside the cinema's, the seats are very comfy and the air conditioning works perfectly. The toilets are kept clean overall. I think that the whole experience is great at the Event's Cinema Complex is great.

Comfortable but will be more comfortable if the seats were recliners gets a bit uncomfortable after 1.5hours. Will like it if they had healthier options of juices and food. The donuts . DO NOT EAT THEM. They are like semi hard balls woth marbles in the middle..microwaved balls of grossness

Gold Class is great, comfy huge seats, food and beer brought to you. They also host midnight openings which is awesome when you don't want to be navigating a city parking garage at 3am on a weeknight. The ordinary cinemas are decent and they have a lot so you can usually get in and get good seats. Online Booking and redeeming your ticket super convenient and membership rewards add up to free tickets quickly.

Awesome but watch out for C7 it has a mind of its own

This cinema is good. It just gets busy. There is heaps of parking, so unless you go at Christmas time you will be fine to get a carpark. It can get busy. But during the day it is fine. The service is great. I had to swap tickets once as I bought tickets for the wrong day and they were really helpful.

Just watched WW84 here today, lovely place, priced a bit dear but to be expected particularly given the damage to the cinema industry due to Covid-19. If you're in the Greater Albany region, a lovely place to catch a movie.

The personal recliner chairs were great, wider than I expected, was very comfortable

Albany event cinemas has a great arcade, with lots of games. They also have a variety of cinemas at Albany, like gold class. The service is very nice, and the workers were all friendly and hard-working. We didn't have to online book as they had plenty of seats. Also the food at gold class is great, and well worth their prices. I got the hot dog and it even comes with bacon. Basically the cinemas at Albany has plenty of things to do when bored before movies, and good seats in their theaters too. They also have plenty of bathrooms, on both floors.

Great movie selection and staff were friendly and seats were comfy. Could do with some modernizing but otherwise very enjoyable.

Watched the rugby there. Almost as good as going to the game. 30 bux for a seat beer and a hot dog... bit too much bread to dog ratio. But still good

Happening place to watch a movie. Adds to the experience with lot of fun games. Professional and efficient staff manning the food counters. I liked the quality of cinema hall, screen and sound compared to other places. Free parking being in Albany Westfield mall. Many food and shopping options. The place to be for a family movie day out.

Great venue. We went to see Poms 22.05.19. I have to say your cleaning staff need a kick up the backside. There is enough popcorn down the side of the seats to feed a poultry farm.

Great spot to have a cinema. Easy parking, games area for kids and lots of counters, which ensures you get to the front of the line to purchase tickets quickly. Recommend joining their mobile club for discounted tickets.

Nice large cinemas. More than 8 screens. Seats are comfortable. Staff and service is good too. Good class lounge is great. Opening hours are also good till late. Ample parking.

Liked this Events Cinema way more than the Queen St one for Albany's well organized snacks bar and comfier, wider basic class seating. Still would one day like to see all seats slowly change into more like recliners for non-gold class. However, at least for the bigger cinemas you shouldn't need to worry about where you sit and whether or not the speakers will be in front of your seat; should be surround. Parking may be a bit difficult here purely by the walking distance if you're late or fighting with the mall crowds.

It was a very nice Cinima! Clean with a big screen and comfy seats. One issue we have with our 2yo (besides running out of a movie) is the auto fold up seats . She cant use them and end up on a lap. But that's not an issue here at all. We enjoyed Incredibles 2!

I've been to see a movie in your Gold Class theatre a couple of times and really love it, mostly. I would give 5 stars if it wasn't so cold in the theatre. Warming it up a touch would make all the difference 🙏🏻

A great place to go to for entertainment. They have a great selection of arcade games on the bottom floor. Movies are quite pricey, but their gold class is well worth it. Staff are also quite nice and hospitable.

Our number one go to place for movies and time zone. Some staff can be a bit emo sometimes but generally are pretty pleasant and efficient. Bring the prices down for movies to 10 bucks per person and you get 5 stars :)

Cinema was good as usual. I just do not get the pre-buying logistics... I bought tickets and food/drinks prior, but still got to join the normal queue to get goods. Pointless.

Usually the best place on the North Shore to go for new blockbuster films, but they don't show many (if any) of the smaller arthouse films. The Gold Class service is average, Hoyts in Sylvia Park and Event Queen St do it a lot better thought. Parking can be a bit of an issue, especially if the mall is busy, but on the flipside, there's plenty of choices for a meal before/after the film. Facilities are generally clean and tidy and the staff are helpful

8 screens, + 2 gold class screens, a wide selection of overpriced goodies (as is standard at all cinemas), including hot dogs and beer (adults only for the alcohol). There is an arcade area to kill time waiting for your movie, or if that's not your cup of tea, the food court is just outside. Sound system is good and 3d is available on several screens, including all gold class screens. No IMAX, and notwithstanding the gold class the seats are ok, but no reclining or foot rest. Gold class has very comfortable seats - more like armchairs. You can book on line, but you'll still need to queue to convert your barcode to an actual ticket. (There are electronic stations to do this if you don't need any snacks.) There is a lift for wheelchair access, and at least a couple of wheelchair slots in the back row in each screen.

Very comfortable seats with good quality sound. But a little too much of advertising before the movie. I'm at the cinema to watch the movie. It's so many advertisings that they could sell the tickets cheaper instead.

Beautiful foyer & the best place for a night out. Great restaurants & food court right outside too. Nice seats, massive screens & overall experience! 👍 TIP: Use discount vouchers (like Spark Mobile's cheaper $11 ticket deals) - otherwise adult price is expensive!

Conviently located inside the albany mall. There's not many arcades I wanted to play but it's easy to pass time at the nearest food court and cafes while waiting for your movie. Staffs are great and the atmosphere is lovely. The seats are good enough and of course they have gold class options.

Went to a movie at event cinimas in Albany today and found a piece if metal in my popcorn not sure what it is but appears to be something out of the popcorn machine. Other then that had a great experience watching the movie 'Spies In Disguise' and had overall great service.

Gold Class at Event Cinemas is a cool way to turn a trip to the movies into a great night out. Lie back in super comfy leather recliners, get served drinks and a scrumptious dinner, and enjoy your movie in luxury

Great Place. Super Amazing & Awesome Staff. I visit almost every week and enjoy every bit of time spent in the cinema. The toilets are not cleaned at times; Best to use toilets in the Mall.

Was pretty clean, alot of trust in movie goers not to cinema-hop

Honestly, not by any stretch my favourite cinema, but I was given free tickets, so what was I going to do. The new order and then pick up your food somewhere else system is plain stupid and takes way longer than necessary, mainly because the staff serving there seemed to be in a state of utter confusion and consistently tried to give people the wrong orders. The cinema seats are too close together, so leg room is rubbish. My advice, go to a Hoyts with the recliner chairs, so much more comfortable.

Clean and modern cinema. Popcorn always tastes fresh. Perhaps a wider range of snacks would be profitable and appreciated. Also, don't expect flavourings for your Popcorn like Sour cream and chives, butter, salt, etc. It's just plain-old Popcorn. Real good though. Once I bought tickets for an IMAX show and was told to go to a normal cinema since it was actually showing on it and not IMAX. I'm still unaware of what happened, but I didn't get a refund. Their show hours are quite restricting/limited, so be sure to plan ahead.

Comfortable dinning area at queen street gold class cinema

Fantastic location with clean facilities. Food prices are reasonable for a movie cinema, but ticket prices are very $$$ here. Having the mall at your door step means there is a lot of things to do before or after your movie.

Great Cinema complex with a lobby bar and gold class. Though be warned, the "amazing refurbishment" of gold class means its not as good now. No tray table when eating and no call button for service.

It’s a cinema. Probably one of the nicer event cinemas, but recently only go here rarely for Gold Class which is nice. Really solid arcade though, which is nice if you want to get some nostalgia in before a flick.

A good location on the shore and lots of parking nearby with a mostly under cover route in case it rains. A tad expensive but look out for mid-week deals if you join their loyalty program. Automated systems that work well and helpful make it better than the average multiplex

We got AA discounts which is ~$11 per ticket which is better than $20+ !!! Expensive and more expensive if buying food, drinks, etc as well. Always good watching movies on the big screen but too pricey really.

GOLD CLASS first time at Event Cinemas Albany was divine. I would definitely recommend getting there at least 20-30mina before your movie start time as I didn't and there's a lovely lounge area I could have enjoyed if I got there earlier, definitely next time!!!

Tickets can be expensive but the cinemas have great sound and great quality. The screens are massive and super immersive. Make sure to arrive we'll before your film on the weekends as lines can be very long :)

The seating here is much better than the one in the CBD. I love the convenience of ordering tickets online, however the kiosks to print out the tickets can be out of order, or malfunctioning. This can be quite a pain and defeat the purpose of ordering online if you'll have to stay in the queue anyway. Perhaps you could allow a sort of scanner up stairs for tickets purchased online to pass through, a sort of express if the kiosks are out of order.

6 cinemas in total that are large. Chairs are comfortable, but try not sit on isle because the isle lights are really bright and get into your peripheral vision. Food is overpriced.

It's not a good experience when there is half a bucket of popcorn and other items stuffed down sides of seats in Gold Class. I feel who ever is cleaning the theatres after movies is letting everyone else down

Great experience every time. Seats are big considering the ones we get back in the UK. So even in a 2 hour 30 minute movie you won't get a sore bum.

My fave cinema. Would give it 6 stars if it had the recliner seats like Hoyts Wairau. Clean. Modern. Lots of staff on. ONLY downfall is hearing the neighbor theaters thru your own movie.

Ehhhh, the movies is the movies right? Albany is good, big seats not usually too crowded and the people are nice. Some parts and fixtures are getting a bit worn and need replacing, but hey you dont go there to examine wall details, you go to see the latest flick and forget about life for a couple of hours.

Good customer service and couldn't fault the movie quality, however the cinema itself and the toilets could do with some TLC and a regular clean. We were in cinema 2 and it had funny smell to it.

5 stars all the way their service is superior to any other so called "gold class" out there they take you order while you sit down in the lounge that needs a little updating, and the seats in gold class have recently been done So comfortable I can't think of a bad thing A++

It's a cinema. Not much more to say. It has a gold class option which is always nice. Located within one of the better malls in Auckland this, Sylvia park and the Queen street are probably the best for their wide range and under cover stores - good for families too.

It's a big ol' movie theatre. And it does what it needs to do. However the hot donuts they served at the counter kinda just tasted like PakNSave donuts chucked in the microwave for three minutes

Generally a good experience with standard amenities. Offers many options for viewing like gold class. Has a good loyalty programme. Everything is pricy though, that's what you'd expect from cinemas nowadays.

Super friendly staff. Middle of the line for cleaning. Movies and sound quality high. Chairs comfortable. Over all experience is a good one.

Easy access from parking lot. You can buy food while waiting for movies or after watching a movies.

The refit of Cinema has improved comfort. Not sure the overall experience equals the extra cost though. Not sure I noticed what VMAX was supposed to offer either...

The only cinema on the North Shore you can easily get to. The food and drink like always are expensive (Like every other cinema) but the facilities are usually quite clean and that's all you can really ask for at a cinema.

went and saw new starwars. was great accept one guy kept just yelling HAH every 5 minutes. kinda killed the mood. no one did anything about it so yeah 3 stars

The sound was way to loud and I saw people with hands over their ears. Event needs to address this and not ruin peoples hearing. This might not be the case for all movies but the last two movies it was bad.

Toilets are tiny especially after a movie. Waiting in que for a P....... Doesn't happen everyday hence the review notes... The cinemas its self is awesome...

A good cinema in a mall location. Plenty of places to eat around the cinema. The cinema has a games area too. Great when you have taken a young person out to the movies.

One of the best locations to go watch a movie being that it in a large mall with many stores and food kiosks, so you could literally spend all day there before or after your movie! It's a bit far depending on where you're in Auckland but totally worth it!!

As you might know this is a Cinema, they offer some great Cinebuzz deals they have also made some upgrades to there cinema's by adding luxury recline able seats. Great Place 5 Stars.

Perfect for date night. Luxury chairs. Go early and have a bite before the movie, as everything closes early during the week, or order from the cinema directly.

Gold class is real nice and clean, just need to book a few days in advance (or a week at least). to get the good seats.

I absolutely love these cinemas but the issue we had was that there were alot of people in the queues waiting for tickets or snacks and the staff had to be called from the back to come and serve the customers. It was quite a long wait before being helped.

Great place to catch a movie. Comfortable seating with good legroom. The only negative is the cost of the snacks and drinks like all other cinemas.

One of the better Cinemas in Auckland, easy free parking and access, even after shopping centre in Albany is closed. Close to food court as well. Overall a good cinema facility, with a good viewing experience.

I loved the event cinemas cause they have great drinks popcorn and the best American movies such as like a boss bad boys for life spies in disguise frozen 2 and heaps more.

Nice new leather seats and cinema set-up. Why so expensive though? Recliner seating is most expensive compared to other places.

Lots of movies and screens, however old. Maybe it needs a bit of renovation. Overall experience was good, just didn't like the seat fabric.

Tickets are super expensive these days but that seems to be true pretty much every where, same goes for the snacks but the cinemas are nice with good views from most seats.

A pretty good cinema, the arcade is Fun. Lots of of films to watch (8 theatres if I remember correctly). If your in Albany and want to watch a movie here is the place to go.

Conveniently located inside the Westfield Albany shopping centre, also near the food court and other restaurants. The cinema is clean and well maintained. Always something for everyone.

Needs a decent clean, or tickets priced to reflect the deterioration of the premises. Seats are comfortable, but I now prefer the Reading Cinemas.

Perhaps the nicest Event Cinema in Auckland. Gold Class is showing it's age, but is otherwise my GC of preference. If you can afford driving a bit further, a movie here is worth it.

My favourite place in all Aotearoa to watch movies. If you can afford Gold Class ($35 pp) I would highly recommend going into Gold Class.

It's my go to cinema with great location and basically anything you can ask for from a cinema, bar an IMAX option. With an arcade downstairs, it's a good place for entertainment, and has surprising enjoyable bathrooms.

Gold Class here is fantastic with great customer service, comfy seats and tidy facilities. Recommend the brownie sundae!

It's a good example of a standard cinema multiplex, that is to say it does the job without anything so bad as to detract from the experience. Probably the best multiplex on the North Shore.
