Reviews of Fourforty Mountain Bike Park
A.
First time riding here today. Its really efficiently run with very little wait time for the shuttle (yes this is pretty much a shuttle only bike park). Trails are professionally made, most are quite fast. Cross country riders might feel a little at odds here, but those wanting to blast down the trails with very little sitting on the seat or pedalling will love it. We had a 1/2 day pass for $59 and were pretty tired by the end of that.
R.
Such a well maintained bike park!!! Auckland doesn’t have the most exciting trails but thank goodness for 440 is not far away!!! Less than $10 per shuttle ride
N.
Easily Auckland's best built trails. The same trail can be ridden by virtually any skill level rider. Rollovers become jumps as you get better. Staff are friendly. Never really need to wait very long for shuttles.
R.
Nice selection of trails, the tracks are well maintained. Wait time for shuttle service is not long, multiple shuttles running at once. Some nice flow trails with some being more technical.
A bit expensive but worth it considering you get shuttled up and won’t waste your energy and time riding uphill.
There is no cafe, so would recommend bringing your own lunch. Plenty of picnic tables to have a rest on.

THIS PLACE ROCKS.
I have been here 3 times now, for DH + Enduro racing + just having a blast.
Nicole + the staff are awesome, they deal with the drama of running an event + it just works, it feels like a club field, its laid back and chill. The main thing is trails are excellent, perfectly formed and something new is happening all the time. As you would expect, Trailpro keep the tracks in good nick. Cheers 440 we will make the trek from the Naki many more times
B.
Fantastic gravity park that’s much closer than Rotorua with longer and better trails than Skyline. Trails are mostly machine built, but some techy single track too if that’s what you’re into. Can be slippy in the wet, but pretty great otherwise.

Came up from Palmerston North on a business / holiday trip and had the opportunity to ride some of the new trails before opening day. Below is a summary of my experience:
Trails - pretty much all DH tracks with a majority of G3 and G4. I didn't get to try the new uphill trail (Anti Gravity) and opted to buy a 6 shuttle pass for approx $50. Worth it as it takes a solid 10mins via shuttle and the elevation is intense on some of the climbs. I'd have to say that Pink Stoat + Low Carb /High Fat were my faves with Chinese Laundry, Ohakune and Low Pressure close in second. Must come back to do the rest.
Carpark / Hub - Large and spacious with chipped gravel. Heaps of room to move and the one way ring road system is easy to navigate. The main Hub consists of a onsite mechanic area, reception desk where you can purchase shuttle passes and gear from the shelf (limited stock on show).
Staff - Friendly, professional and helpful. On my 4th run I'd lost my car key (in the hub park) and after a stressful 2hrs looking in certain places one of the shuttle drivers found it! Super thankful to the team for offering to look and to the other MTBers whom kept an eye out #gratitude

The trails rule, the staff are awesome and the vibe is welcoming. The swimming spot across from the park is the icing on the cake. This is a must ride spot in New Zealand.
L.
Awesome trails to be had here at this place. The uplift is fast, efficient and easy. All the tracks have something to offer from steep, greasy tech, to jump, feature filled flow. Staff are all stoked to be there and seem just as keen to go ride too. You will probably ride all the trails in 10 lap full day ticket but would easily return for another day of shredding!
G.
Get chauffeur driven up the hill and then pick from an ever expanding range of trails and blast down it again. Have a coffee or a cold drink at the bottom and repeat. 6 stars would be more my view but 5 will have to do.
L.
Good well constructed trails with a range of difficulty to suit most riders except perhaps complete beginners. Not a huge number of trails but you just use the shuttle (not really optional) and hit the ones you like again and again to hone your skills. Clay base which is very dry right now. Best value is to purchase your pass online before hand, half a day is pretty good unless you’re super fit, and the shuttles run very frequently.
A.
Insanely fun place to ride. Prices are a little but high but it's worth every penny to ride trails as good as the ones here. Just watch out if it's just recently rained because a large majority of the trails are clay and very quickly turn into an ice rink.
L.
Great fun, friendly staff. A bit more challenging when its muddy but still fun.
B.
Trails are riding great at the moment. Not that many people there today so loads of runs were able to be had in a pretty short time. The 440 crew are great and will quickly add another bus on if the uplift queue gets too long ; you never have to wait long for a bus.
C.
Awesome bike park. Well maintained tracks and great array of tracks to choose from. Definitely will be back! Only concern was my baby on the back being flung around on (in my opinion) the average trailer and it was difficult to load for me being shorter. Had to ask others for help.
P.
Awesome day, trails running mint, the new trails - high fat, low carb and damn native are sweet, heaps of variety, no queues, coffee available. Sick day
M.
Hands down my favourite trail centre! Efficient shuttle service, on site workshop, a not too bad $1 lollie mix and sometimes even a brewery! 10/10 would recommend.
C.
This park is the best around the crew is so friendly and decent.
N.
Very friendly staff - Nicole and Dave helped me got a full picture about the operation in the park and now I decided to upgrade my game!
M.
A well-run mountain bike park in a beautiful part of the world with classy staff and great trails what more could you ask for...Trek Enduro class rentals....
j.
Awesome trails MTB park, coffee cup, too small
T.
Loved it! Awesome and challenging tracks but a great way to get my sons experience up. He was definitely going faster by the end of the day. It’s a bit of a mission to get there but well worth the effort.
F.
Trails run mint the 440 guys are so nice all round sick and so fun
C.
Great spot with awesome trails and even better service at the on-site shop!
C.
Thank you for being very hospitable and so understanding! We were unequipped and aren't bikers but wanted to have a go. Nicole was amazing; she let us try it out first, and even helped my friend who hurt themself. We'll come back once we've had some practice!
S.
EPIC! And the new shop has all kinds of goodies and plenty of snacks, drinks and even some pies.
M.
Saturday, 2 days before the north Island schools enduro, very very busy and in a half day only got 5 runs in but the trails are very good
s.
Woah! This park has plenty of trails to challenge you, not much on offer for the novice though. The shuttle ride up is a great indicator that you are in for some quick & steep trail descending. Make sure you've got fresh brake pads and do some recon runs before you go bezerk! Plenty of shuttle pass options and stocked drinks fridge and mechanics-workshop on hand.... sweet set up. 👌🏽
J.
Incredible trails, just went to the summer re-opening and the conditions are all time! A few fresh trails added to the already massive list with plans for more it just cant be any better, with the ability to just turn up whenever you want and do as many or as little shuttles as you want it's the perfect spot to get your gravity addiction!
R.
Very busy, we got 5 runs on a half day pass and quite expensive but good trails, mostly flow and a little bit of tech
D.
Very fun, some of the jumps are poorly built tho. Teknical trails very fun. Definitely would go again
C.
The best gravity mountain bike park in Auckland! Interesting trails, friendly staff and a social atmosphere. A good mix of trails from a pump track to jump trails.
G.
Superb small bike park near Auckland. I was travelling from France and looking for a spot to ride with a friend and found this super relaxed park (the owners, employees and riders are really friendly) and most importantly the tracks are diversified and extremely fun to ride. The view on Coromandel from the top of the park is the icing on the cake!
P.
Amazing trails and great staff!
A.
Quite possibly the best downhill park in the North Island.
It's amazing! Awesome staff and perfect shuttle setup.
M.
Damn good shuttle park. Steep but rideable with an XC bike, or ride like an animal on a DH rig. Only two main trails as of March 2014 but still good for a half day session. Five stars when there's 5+ trails including a more XC trail
J.
Excellent well maintained trails, top quality rental bikes, really friendly service and even a bbq where you can bring your own meat to grill.
D.

Amazing flow trail on Pink Stoat. Good people here, they let me use some pedals for the day when I broke mine on the first run
H.
Awesome place that is well set up and well run. Shuttles to top of hill and a swimming hole to cool down after a few runs make for an excellent day.
