Customer service was good, but definitely seemed a little understaffed when we visited a couple of weeks ago. Only one person serving, though it seemed to be a peak time. Theater was dirty like it hadn't been cleaned between screenings. I feel like staff did their best, but they didn't have enough hands on deck.

Enjoyed the twin seats, very comfortable. Lively customer service from the attendants which made it enjoyable. I also applaud the Hoyts loyalty members card, I enjoyed my free popcorn refills. 10/10 experience. Batman movie also a 10/10 😅

Saw 'Sing 2', 26/1/22 @ 6.10pm. Cinema 7, seat A11, cup holder missing, just a gaping hole. Sound seemed to fluctuate in the first 30 mins, as if only the front speakers were on...then randomly back to full theatre, usually during musical/singing interlude. Friendly staff. Tidy foyers, good to see rubbish bins cleared, and not overflowing!

Great cinema, I love the Lux hoyts experience. Yes, the tickets and snacks are a little expensive. The menu has a variety of items, food, and drinks bought to your seats are great! Reclining seats are really roomy and comfortable. The Lux lounge area is very private and comfortable with your own bar area. The cinema is clean and tidy and is not overcrowded with seats. I will definitely add this as part of my mother and daughter time together. Great experience 👍

Staff needs more training on handling the guest, this is very expensive for a movie small drink and small popcorn, if you are paying for the experience of a deluxe night out then the service needs to match the price. Nice surroundings, clean and inviting. Movie was great seating is good.

They rearranged the cinema so that a lot of the food is self-service. You grab what you want and head to the counter where you can also get your tickets. There are also electronic booths behind the door. I couldn't find a "Now Showing" board with the movies currently being run with session times. The new layout makes it feel bigger but the lines look a lot longer too, particularly when its busy. It was a bit hard to distinguish between lines paying for ticket/items to those actually heading into the cinema area. We went forward and potentially cut in from other people in line. Having a way to sepeare the lines would be helpful.

Pretty good, but customer service lacking a bit. Have 5 people queueing, and 1 person working. Took 10mins to get to the front. The LUX seats though are worth paying for. Comfy as possible. . Great for taking your other half. Close to eateries, pubs and lots of other entertainment

Great spot for a movie. Close to the eateries, its a primo spot to take yourself out on a date. Or someone else, hey the options are endless. The cinemas are clean, plenty of selve serve machines to buy tickets if talking to people isnt your thing. I can only speak for my experience but the staff didnt seem that bothered at moving all that quickly even with big lines. Could have just been having a bad day.

The chairs in this place is not at good condition. Otherwise, it's a nice place.

Cinema 7 is filthy. There had been no cleaning before the movie that I attended. There was popcorn everywhere. Worse, down between the seats is jammed every manner of disgusting junk. Popcorn, gum, and even a folded up drink cup complete with straw!

Everything is simple now! No long queues to wait in, you just buy your ticket on the kiosk and pick your food and check into the ushers there. I don't know if anyone else has a problem but might need the food pricing to be more visible or just bigger so we're all aware of the cost before choosing items esp. popcorn and drinks. Other than that, easy!

HOYTS Sylvia Park LUX is my guilty pleasure particularly when must see films feature. The staff in LUX is absolutely fantastic, friendly and engaging and new value pricing is great. The current menu by Manu has some delicious food selections and fantastic wines. I adore the lemon cheesecake and the banana caramel milkshakes. The cheese platters are very good too especially with recommended wine pairings.

Lux was amazing. Getting food delivered to you great. My drink was late which is a bit of a let down, but the main thing is the seats. They are right next to each other with no separation. Not in the cinema I was in. Which is concerning at the current time as you could wind up next to a stranger. Literally in their their lap. that aside the experience was amazing and I will be back.

Big screen and Batman on it was awesome. Chairs where comfortable

It was really nice to go out and watch a movie. Our experience was great.

Complex was tidy, probably need more signs directing people where to go. I had online tickets, so rocked straight to movie entrance. Was so easy when you purchase online tickets, they do charge $3 though. Guy directed me to my cinema number, it was spacious and I got to sit on a comfy chair. Someone did sit right next to us, despite on the website saying there would be spaces between patrons. Movie was very loud (to me), so expect that. Movie had good amount of darkness and movie was great. Lots of patron not taking their rubbish when leaving though. Ugh messy people. Games area is small but fun for young kids. Staff were friendly, however some places seemed closed for business? Just the icecream store open oh and popcorn, icecream drinks etc. Toilets were clean and spacious with disabled toilets available. You can bring your own food, that was the big thumbs up for me.(Not sure, but we were not asked to look in our bags) Cinema is located up the escalator and we will visit again due to not too over crowded when we visited at midday on Wednesday. Good for an escape from reality and you want to chill and be taken to another world.

This cinema has never been crowded for the numerous times we visited here and the seats are definitely the most premium among all the ones I've been to in NZ. The facilities seem new, modern and immaculately clean. There is no one kicking at your backrest from the row behind you like I've encountered several times at Event. The staff have always been professional and easy-going which I found to be a very good trait in any customer service dynamic but is a rare thing these days. Pricing can vary depending on what you order but paying a premium for food and drinks at cinema amenities is expected and we should support these businesses which are cornered by challenges from the digital revolution and add an extra layer of dynamic to our shopping and entertainment precincts.

Best experience watching 👀 RRR great sounds and big screen

Went to the deluxe cinema and it was nice, clean, not too big and a great place to hide when it gets too hot during summer. The experience is different to event cinemas in that you self select and then take your items to the check out. Only downer for me was that they didn’t have hand scooped ice creams with chocolate covering but they did have all the usual things you expect and more treats wise.

Lux Theatre. Comfortable seating. Cinema was about 15 degrees C. About 10 degrees cooler than outside. Dressed in t-shirt and shorts I was too cold. Shivered through the whole movie. They still have not learned how to set the aircon, got really cold again tonight.

Go here frequently, honestly the best Hoyts in NZ. The snacks are a bit pricey, but that's how cinemas are. Also the customer service is immaculate. Young girl was very friendly and nice. The seats were comfortable, did not notice any back pain while watching a 2hr+ movie. Overall great experience and 10/10 would recommend

Superb lux customer service, food and drinks. Unfortunately my recliner seats were uncomfortable, laggy and had greasy buttons. Disappointing that they changed the menu and no longer offers fish and chips which was my favorite. The commercials and advertisements before trailers are low quality, loud and unnecessary It's ridiculous as no one pays to watch these. I would visit hoyts cinemas (lux) more often but It doesn't exceed my expectations In terms of paying a premium price.

Comfy cinema seats.. self select food ... best to buy tickets online beforehand. Not a cheap outing though..2 xtreme cinema tickets, large popcorn, trumpet icecream and 2 drinks came to almost $96 for the film. 4 stars if not so pricey. No wonder the theartre wasn't full

Went and saw "The Black Widow" on the I Max cinema. Great night out. Hoyts new layout is real user-friendly. Seats are comfortable with lots of elbow room!!

I just can't work out how their ordering system works for food...And it tells you to wait for your order number to pick up and nobody is at the counter. We just grabbed the stuff and went in otherwise we would've missed the movie. Im still confused thinking over it now lol...Otherwise clean, lots of toilets and massive as seats :-) The service is ...umm youthful... he didn't even know the movie we asked tickets for, but made up for it with his polite positive attitude.

OMG. I WISH this was my local, We have to drive a little to get there. But sooooo worth it. Took my 5 year old special needs angel here to watch Spirit Untamed. What a treat. Fairy Floss!! A cappuccino pre ordered and waiting on arrival! Then ushered to our pre picked, perfectly situated seats. Which we could move the arm rest on and just cuddle - like on a couch. What a magic day. Thank you so very much! 🥰

Has renovated recently, nothing against it but at least there aren't any long queues like before. Everything is basically self service which I don't really prefer because it cuts jobs. Overall, they have friendly staff, sometimes clean theatres.

With hoyts rewards you can get some tickets for 10 dollars!

The cinema is kept and modern. However, some staffs need to train properly ('cause everything in this cinema is expensive, so they have to do their proper good customer service skills) and they have given us seats that already occupied by other customers with the same assigned seat numbers as ours. One of the staffs responded to our complaint and offered a convenient seat which is good. We felt kind of unsatisfied after we left the movie due to that mistake but overall, this cinema is legit awesome. Been there for many times and most of the time were smooth = 4 ☆

I like the Hoyts cinema new set up, makes for easy and fast payment, shopping for snacks and drinks, and there is a Ben and Jerrys at the Silvia Park theater. But my biggest disappointment they have done away with the good old classic rolled icecreams. Instead the only choices are the ultra expensive icecream on a stick or trumpet style. Do we have to lose all the good old day movie things that were part and parcel of an enjoyable movie experience?

This complex was a little worse for wear. About half of the illuminated signs identifying the individual screening rooms weren't lit. The expresso machine wasn't working and it took ages for any staff to wander over to the service bar to serve me. Hopefully things will improve. The screens are functional and the sound is ok.

Haven't been to the movies and ages went there with my son, to watch raya and The last dragon. Love the seating arrangement specially the couches that can be turned into seats

Really liked the cinema room comfy,clean but $36 for snacks is abit out there and the walk through to the cinema was like a wind tunnel it was freezing so wrap up!

It's a cinema so you expect over priced snacks and food but holy a drink and a pack of Maltesers was $18 and the ticket was $25 for nothing special the one at wairau has nice leather recliner seats and they're still cheaper than here and parking wise it's okay if you're going late at night finding your car is a real mission took us about half an hour to find it again because they block off everywhere and there's multiple carparks with multiple levels btw fast and furious 9 is ok too 😂

Visited recently night show around 08:30 the seats were not clean. There were popcorns everywhere. Not tidy anymore

As is the case with all these big cinema chains, they charge a lot of money for the tickets and crazy money for confectionery. You kind of expect that these days as it is the norm for businesses run by accountants. What you don't expect is to be shivering for the majority of the film because the air con is out of control. So to sum up our evening, we felt like we had paid through the nose to be so uncomfortable as to be unable to enjoy the film. Why on earth anyone would pay for a Lux session in there for a seat which is slightly more comfortable is beyond me, unless they also get their own personal fan heater, thereby ensuring that they don't need to bring a sleeping bag to maintain an acceptable core body temperature for 90 minutes. My recommendations: 1. Employ sufficient staff as to know what is happening in your screens. 2. Set the climate control to a normal room temperature. 3. Make the ticket and confectionery costs reasonable and you may find people will come more often like they used to in the hay day of cinema.

No frozen coke. They only have Pepsi now

Very crowded, but in my opinion, Best cinema in town, we always go to the LUX seating, service is great. The place is always clean and tidy. Food is amazing. I wish for one thing only, a better arcade area which is great to kill some time before the movie. You really need to add some proper stuff there.

I'm only a millennial but back in my day it didn't cost $70 for a couple to go and share a drink and popcorn. Was clean at least.

I use this cinema regularly. In my personal opinion it is the best Hoyts Cinema. The standard seating are comfortable, clean and being such a large cinema you don't feel overcrowded. For the best experience i recommend using the LUX and Xtreme screenings. firstly because of the seating is so comfortable and instead of being seated close together you are given a booth, which is perfect for dates. The location is also ideal as there is a large range of restaurants close by for a bite to eat. all in all great cinema perfect a nice time out.

Seems you can't buy food online at Hoyts, Sylvia. I remember I used to before Covid so not sure what's wrong. Otherwise Hoyts is good for comfortable sitting, clean toilets.

Best to be a Hoyts member it can save you a few $$, it can be quite expensive buying tickets and food. The new layout is awesome though the whole self-service thing is much better for me personally , but they should really have self checkouts too because sometimes you have employees just chatting away near the ticket check booth and there is obviously a line of people waiting to be served, the Popcorn is way too salty I have had that issues all the time at Sylvia Park. Xtreme screen is still my favourite though.

Ordered pizza online but upon arrival, was told there was no pizza. Got a refund and ate something else. Apart from that, movie was good

Very nice cinema experience overall. Seats are good and spacious. Hall layouts are easily navigable. Wide range of movies including Bollywood movies are available for decent duration. The staff is nice and friendly. Online ticket booking is recommended since the queues can be long. Ample parking is available too. It is advised to arrive early, if visiting on weekends, allowing some time to find a car park since it becomes very busy. Highly recommended overall.

Overall I would say this is a pretty good cinema, not much I can fault. shout out to Tee - he works upstairs at the Lux cinema on night shift. my partner & I went to see a movie last night & Tee had great customer service - friendly & accommodating , & helpful when I asked 20 questions about the VIP membership etc. He is an asset to the Hoyts team :)

I went to the new(ish) Lux Cinemas. I like the decor, and the overall experience is very cool/luxurious. If you want a really nice movie/date night and aren't too concerned about spending $70+ just for movie seats, this would be a great option. There are lots of restaurants and pubs just outside that make this even better in this scenario. 4 star not 5 because it's still a little expensive for me.

I love the lux experience! Great food and great service and complimentary drink and popcorn. The portions of food you order is always surprisingly big so I often will not finish everything. Once again love the lux

Awesome experience in deluxe cinema. Love the recliners. Lux comes with complimentary popcorn and drinks. Great customer service. Call bell on the side tables for service was very efficient. The meals were quite pricey but were very filling. My husband found the pork sliders were quite dry. I enjoyed the spicy dog and we both really loved the Chocolate Maltesers sundae. It was a huge serving which we struggled to finish. Overall it was a great experience.

Nice spot. Slightly pricier than other Auckland cinemas though.

Convenient movie place with ample parking.

Fantastic experience !!! But make sure you parked you car on dedicated cinema parking or if in case you are getting late because of dinner lunch or shopping let the customer service know so won’t get the ticket

The self serve set up for food and drinks is different, looks great but a total rip off! Ideally alcoholic drinks should be secured safely from minors accessing it. Was so easy to just open the fridge and grab it without them pouring it into a plastic cup let alone asking them to open it at the cashier. I can see some interesting outcomes happening here with easy access to alcohol.

Located in the heart of the mall, easy parking. Amazing customer service, had a few problems with booking issues but all were solved professionally. Wide seats with spacious legroom, big screens, great sound. It'd be better if there were leather and recliner seats and a proper candy bar.

Cinema also seems dirty and the ground always sticky. Last time I went the main walkway had a large pile of popcorn littered on the ground with some staff wondering aimlessly behind the ticket counters, refusing to clean up the mess. Within the cinemas, the seating is plenty spacious with arm rests that raise between even seats. La Premiere (the more expensive seats) is quite a bit better. You get the option of getting restaurant food delivered to you as well as having the best seats in the house, but just a warning, don't put your hand down the sides of those leather seats. I feel as though they never get cleaned.

Hoyts app for food does not work- unable to use points for food. Information about which foreign language movies have subtitles are not easily available online or on the screen. The popcorn are too salty..had to step out in middle of movie to get fresh popcorn with less salt. Please stop using so much salt, it makes people sick.drinks are overpriced. Overall friendly customer service.

Love the new layout, with self service kiosks. The place looks new and updated. Theatres are still the same. However, we came to see a specific movie which had ample screen times but no Xtreme screen times.

Always come here to watch movies. Lots of seating and when you book online you can reserve seats. Relatively clean and tidy in the theatres. Foods a bit on the expensive side but popcorn and large coke is always a must at the movies! Watched a movie on their eXtreame screen and it was awesome. As it is situated inside Sylvia Park mall there is always plenty of parking and lots of food options around for before or after your movie .

Something for the family, groups or just chilling with a friend. Hoyst Cinema for a great movie experience. Inside you can sit and enjoy or experience next level. Tickets prices differ to your choice you want to experience. Ask at the counter, then hold on to your seat and enjoy.😲😂😢😠💚💯🙏😀🙌

Seating all damaged speakers sounded broken and pricing is double what reading cinemas is. Seems to have dropped in quality. I heard they have new seats coming though the new front area looks good

A nice cinema though feel a little bit aged. Most of the seats are comfortable and quite clean, but the arm rest between the seats are quite wide; good if you don't want to touch elbows with your neighbour but can be a bit disappointing when you're going with your love one. However, if you buy the regular tickets, the seats aren't as comfortable and quite aged. The foot alley is very wide, enough for you to walk in front of seating audiences. If you buy your ticket online, you can now just walk up to the allocated cinema without having to exchange your eticket with a physical one. You are supposed to scan your eticket before you got in, but there were no one around to check.

Good for money buy the vouchers and exchange to any movies to watch. Except for lux and other seats

The staff are nice and very understanding about the issues you may encounter, the food is obviously pricey because that's all that cinema's survive on and the theaters them selves are very clean so I salute you cleaners. Good place to take your family to or even a date.

Pretty good cinema. Has wide seats that can convert to a 'love chair' but it's pretty hard to book the right ones online. The space between seats is also pretty wide so you're adding to your rudeness by not kicking people on the way to the toilet that you should have gone to before the movie started. :) Food is a rip off as usual, but sometimes you have to satisfy that double chocolate choc-top craving.

Nice ambiance great sound Well mannerd staff. Great movies. Location is easy to find. More movie and snack combo will be more attractive. Meal deals should be available. Need more concentrationon cinema cleanliness.

Great cinema with plenty of movies showing and lots of seat & leg room so you get your personal space. The snack range is also great, with awesome flavoured popcorns and Ben & Jerry's nearby! The staff is always polite and happy to help you. The only downside is that I experienced annoyance a couple of times when people are allowed to bring their young kids (toddlers) to movies rated M for violence (Captain Marvel and most recently, Avengers: Endgame). Not only did the kids scream or talk in loud voices, followed by their adults going SSSSHHHH really loudly, they also run up and down the stairways causing so much distraction. I don't blame the kids, they're probably too young to understand the movies or sit still for 2-3hrs, so it's really up to Hoyts staff to enforce rules around bringing young kids to M rated films.

Love watching movies on the big screen. Overall great Cinema and staff, my only gripe would be that the red fabric seats need reupholstering. They are grubby n smelly. Sat in a wet seat once and had to watch the whole movie in damp jeans. Not good.

Its not the cleanest place..there always popcorn all over the floor and no staff bothering to clean it up. They have pretty good seats in the cinema though. The seats are quite large and have a fold up arm rest at every second seat.

The auditorium is nice and spacious. Plenty of leg room. Tickets are more expensive than some cinemas and no discount for students. Staff polite and helpful though.

I miss what HOYTS used to be: an alternative to Event Cinemas if you wanted a relatively more grandeur movie experience. Now it's just a overpriced mess. Of course, the seats are comfortable, the screen and audio qualities are undoubtedly the best in New Zealand and it's situated in Sylvia Park, the convenient but overpopulated shopping mall. But if you consider yourself a film connoisseur, and prefer a peaceful and reasonably-priced viewing, go somewhere else.

Cinema is nice, staff are friendly. Removed a star because it's usually too loud for my personal preference (I usually use ear plugs), and you have to ask multiple times for the volume to be turned down & lights turned on at the prams at the pix events.

Was nice but bit confusing being first time lux users. Think HOYTS missing out if actually explained could order food to be delivered during movie drinks etc and how to do so might have made few more $$ from us, did think free popcorn soda and no parking issues price competes with $20 city or Broadway. Nice for a treat

Very impressive as i walked in easy to find where things are. They even have a Ben and Jerry store inside Selling their ice cream yogurt and sorbets. A clean theatre .. a time out arcade to play games. The seats were comfortable and you can raise the arm rest up..also plenty of leg space. Just a good experience with my popcorn drink and icecream

The new set up is great. Just a pity they charge you $16:00 for water and a packet of chocolate.

We went to Sylvia Hoyts and would recommend more signs for entry after hours because it's easier for parking and entry to the movies. We also felt the seats needed upgrading but otherwise it was a good experience.

Large cinemas, good for large groups (how we usually go to the movies). However the cinemas are often dirty when you walk in the main entrance with popcorn spilt and the floors sticky. Although the cinemas are reasonably clean once you go into watch your movie, it could do with a little bit more care to detail (I understand it can be difficult with the short time changeover between sessions), I have had to wipe off seats of popcorn before sitting down and once the seat next to me had melted ice cream still on it. The Lux or previously LA Premiere, isn't all too exciting especially for the price you pay. The seats definitely need a upgrade as some are often broken or seem like they're going to break. The cinema has potential, not too sure if it's because the workers are always busy that they can't keep it clean or there's not enough workers to do everything.

Good place to watch movies

I regularly got use the LUX cinema seating. The service is brilliant, tickets come with a complementary soft drink and popcorn, the seats are the best you can ask for. Why watch a movie whilst constantly trying to find that comfy spot when you can pay that little extra and be comfortable from the get go.

Cinema was fine - toilets really unclean. No toilet paper, no hand wash soap or paper to wipe hands. Not good enough for the price we paid. Also may I suggest you take your own snacks - prices are exhorbitant!

Tidy cinemas at a shopping complex with plenty of parking and food options for before or after a movie. Staff service is generally pretty good, though outside of peak times make sure to still come early enough to grab tickets in time, as the 2 or 3 staff on the front counter can easily be overwhelmed by a whole lot of people turning up at once.

Even though it seems a bit more expensive than event cinemas, the experience is a way better. It's very spacious, more than enough space between routes to stretch you're legs. The sound is awesome too. I'd prefer to watch movies there even living on the north shore.

Very little staff interaction - all transactions were done by automated ticketing machines. The personal touch is still important.

Modern, well presented theatres with comfortable seats, and lots of leg room. Sound and picture quality is the best. And it is fully licensed too.

Great spacious seats. Extremel screen is huge. Can be a bit dirty and sticky sometimes. The lux option is average. Cold popcorn and waited forever to get the food. Had to walk out to get my stuff from the bar.

It's a nice place to go with family.A slight inconvenience is the theatre seats are not cleanly. Some time seats are smelly. If they maintain that it would be superb place to enjoy.

Good range of movies avaliable to watch. Easy to order food as have self service screens to order off and then can pick up your food. Some of the chairs have popcorn and food stuck down the side of them, which I noticed today.

Went for Dyson product training, being a motorcyclist I had my hands full with gear. The staff there were helpful enough to store my gear while I attended the product training and a very nice guy returned my gear at the end. Very happy with it making my experience a lot better with out the worry of people tripping over my helmet and jacket. Thank you again!!!

The movies were fine in themselves as in the cinemas they were clean and comfy. The ticket office had one staff member on and a few movies were starting. The toilet stalls were not able to be used as many were closed. There were no paper towels.

I don't do queues. I only go to big budget movies ie Marvell comics where I can enjoy the use of the large screen and surround sound. And watch exploding action. Then either lux which is a smaller with only premier recling seats or Premier which is at the rear of the theater. I like Premier normally because of the Maxx screen and large theater it reminds me of the Carlton picture theater in Hamilton as I grew up. The idea of service during the movie is superb and hasn't failed yet I can't stand the popcorn any more too much corn and no puff anymore. The ice cold sprite in a glass tinkling around for starters On two 2 small hamburgers made on the theater menu great taste by the way Desert to go half way through and espresso coffee in time to watch the climax to the movie finished off with a glass of wine Finally walking out no crowds That's what I call a trip to the movies now So if I think it's that good and staff service is excellent why give it 3 stars only Because of the sound quality The last 3 times I have attended the Premier theater in Sylvia Park my preferred location The sound has been too loud. Sure I get the idea turn the sound up so loud so that you can FEEL the vibration. But what about the distortion Lately the distortion is so bad it's becoming hard to go back and watch the screen. Guys check your sound out.

Awesome cinema, great sound and video but it's always so slow to get in and no one has any respect for others watching the movie. Always been that one person chatting or on their phone. Would appreciate some staff monitoring the theater for these things

love the place, only thing about it though, i booked a movie and thinking we were late, it took 2 staff to give us the ticket plus look at the ticket to let us in, but we were actually too early and it was the movie before our movie was playing. im not complaining about the movie that played was a movie i havent seen yet, plus it was also our mistake aswell, but the only thing is that they didnt check the ticket properly. they only checked the seating and what cinema you are in.

Great place to go but the theater was a bit dirty. Popcorn and drink left from last session and I wasn't allowed to bring baby food in for my son (who is 1) that was bought from paknsave as it wasn't purchased from the cinema. (It was the only organic aby tubes)

Entrance has been done up and the cinema seats are really comfortable, however everything is overpriced compared to other cinemas (they also don't show prices for everything) and because much of it is self service now, the staff are unengaged and don't seem to want to deal with customers.

Love this theater, lux is A+ would love to give a 5 star rating but felt a bit ripped off for paying as much as we did to get nice seats to only have people who paid less to be able to walk up and sit in the surrounding seats next to us.

This cinema albeit small has very nice recliner seats and good deals via the HOYTS app. I love the waiting room outside as well and parking has never been an issue.

Been going here for years, it is expensive so it is best to be a hoyts member to get those great deals, has changed a lot in the last year or so but still remains as my favourite cinema.

So expensive to go to the movies these days, but I enjoyed the lazyboy... for $37 a seat, you'd hope so. And another $30 something for 2 icecreams, popcorn and 2 drinks... won't be back anytime soon... but if money is no object, go for gold

A not so pleasant cinema experience as the place looks unclean. You could see some rubbish on the floor and some of the seats. Doesnt smell good as well. We took the economy, but it shouldnt have been ompromised

Fantastic. Clean store front and was please with the gold service we received, made for an enjoyable and relaxing experience. If I was hypercritical, I'd say the food was hellishly overpriced, $7 for a bottle of Coke zero!

The luxury seats were nice and comfy. The pop corn was tasteless. It hasn't improved since I was last there a year ago. Forgot how bad it was.

5 stars as it was only my wife and I in the theatre. No need to whisper and comment out loud like being at home

I'm torn on which Hoyts I like best because each has their pros and cons. This one doesn't have recliners for main seats but the screen is much larger and stretches; seats are still comfy and wide though. You can only buy alcohol in the Lux lounge area and quite far away from some cinemas. Couldn't get the ticket printer up from to work. But yet all together, I think I do like it better than Wairau or Events Cinema Queen St

Excellent multiplex movie theater for friends and family. Also has one of the most cheaper deal on Tuesday's. Great video and audio quality and small food court for a quick bite... Loved the experience of watching movie here.

Extreme Screen is the best however the Lux seats needs a total rehab! Also, great to see the discounted ticket deals for Hoyts members on non Tuesdays!

Have been here easily over 50 times over 10 years - great movie theatre, usually fairly busy. 10+ minute wait often to buy tickets, and the bathrooms never have paper towels...

Not bad, but could have been better. A shame that the ice cream bar, coffee bar etc were all closed once viewing had commenced. it would have bbeen nice to sit for a coffee after the movie

The up escalator wasn't working and it was really difficult when an older person has arthritis and is expected to climb that many steep stairs.

Love Hoyts just not the new layout, I'm a people's person so I'm not a huge fan of kiosks but customer service is always good and their snacks are good too. Love their gourmet 🍿!!

Visited recently new self serve food listed and priced a couple of basic combos. Listed others without the prices and the screens of suggested combo cycle through fast and incongruously as above some priced others arnt. Got suggested combo of 2 large drinks 1large popcorn and 2 ice creams which came to $47nzd. Usually combos have some sort of value proposition but vague pricing with shock upsells and a cattle like herding system of entry not to mention the 1 server who took the money and stopped mid way to ask a colleague when's break kind of left me feel underwhelmed and slightly violated. Good luck with this kind of practice into future im going to go with the other guys at least you know what you in for... Cheers

Not a bad place. Renovated a few years ago. Things are still relatively new. A good local cinema. Doesn't have the IMAX screens though.

12 of us booked last night for the La Premiere seats. The movie was fantastic and the service was outstanding. Our chairs foot raise didnt work so my partner and I got 2 free passes to come back. If there was anything I were to criticise it would be the staff forgot to bring us our complimentary drinks. Just as well I dont drink soda. It would also be nice if the entry and exit were away from the common folk downstairs (jokes... but really though) lol and you need more food options because gluten free vegans have nothing to eat here. But I did pack my own and ate while I watched so I cant really complain! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I wont ever watch a movies without going to Silvia Park La Premiere. No other place can match it!

Some of these cinemas are surprisingly small. No air conditioning the both times I went to a movie here. Only two kiosks to get tickets, they freeze regularly. Quite a weak cinema for being in one if Aucklands most popular malls.

The Sylvia Park Hoyts Cinema is the closes movie theater in our house. I find the movie chairs comfortable due to spacious space and comfortable arm rest. The overall experience is good and I will keep on coming back to watch new movies.

As a movie buff and frequent visitor to LUX Hoyt's has maximum levels of comfort, a variety of mediums to purchase tickets from and a very relaxing atmosphere in the directors lounge and "upstairs" ft a menu of food & beverages. "ok" service, Be mindful of pricing, generally clean and comfortable.

The service was friendly and cinema clean and tidy although when the movie ended the lights failed to come on and everyone had to make their way out in the dark. Weird. The womens WC was littered with rubbish.

Hoyts LUX was amazinggg~~ reclining seats were so comfortable. food was top notch in my opinion~ very filling and flavourful. staff and wait staff were very friendly and had good service. bar was nice too. very nice first time LUX experience

Hoyts cinemas in Sylvia Park Mall is one of the best in city for great cinema experience. Hoyts provide comfortable seating and clean surrounding. IAM not very happy with the customer service as I didn't find the online ticket scanning staff welcomeing . Request is that if customer service is not good then it can ruin all other things.

My friend and I went to the hoyts in silvia park (Auckland), the theatre was disgusting and unclean, as we left the theatre an employee gave us free tickets to compensate for how dirty the theatre was, the second time we went (using the free tickets) the theatre was very clean and neat. They also provide good service with a very good attitude.

Was served by one of your staff couldn't get her name but she was quite tall and had big hair. Absolutely rude no "enjoy" and looked like she hated her job entirely. Was happy with the second woman who served us our food

These Cinemas are okay but i would recommend only going to extreme screen. The seats need to be cleaned asap they are very dirty almost black not red.

Staff member needs more training that is checking tickets and I'd before you go into movie that she can scan tickets not to waste our time to tell us to line up a long time to get tickets printed out when i had barcode on printout from internet booking which we haven't had to do before and after that getting told by other staff member behind the counter that wasn't necessary today that she could of scanned it there which made us late for movie 6/10/19 3.50pm

Interesting new out lay and service area, stood around for what seemed like the longest 15minutes waiting for staff to serve us at check out, could've eaten all the food by the time they came. Toilets still dirty and looked unserviced

Seats are comfortable, though not the tidiest cinema among all. The upgrades to luxe seats are not too much more expensive, if you can afford it, you should try it .

One of the biggest cinemas in Auckland. Conveniently located in Sylvia Park with plenty of parking. Lots of cinemas so plenty of sessions to choose from. Has good leg room but is seriously getting old the seats are dirty and smells, arm rests, cup holders and the floor are sticky.

Gotta go Lux. It's so worth it to be able to watch a movie in a reclining seat, with food and drink service, without having to suffer the usual cinema dickholes talking or playing with their phones during the movie. Once you try Lux. it's difficult to go back. Having said that, even the standard seats in most of the theatres here are better than most cinemas. Expensive but you get what you pay for.

Just went to watch Dumbo with my daughter this movie directed by Tim Burton runs for 130 mins. Quite a cast - Danny Devito, Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Eva Green plus heaps more fine actors. Hoyts Cinema Sylvia Park undergoing renovations. Does not detract from inside the theatre, seats low & plush. "Great movie"

This is a great cinema but not worth what they charge. Their food and drinks are hugely overpriced!!! Plus you can watch the same movie at an event cinema for a cheaper ticket.

I went to watch Black Panther at Sylvia Park. Comfortable and broad seats with plenty of legroom. Always park next to the train station for Hoyts. I think its parking 6 and 7 that are the nearest. Good decent screen size.

Good cinema. Food was okay, but fries were served with no sauces and popcorn was so drenched in salt it was completely inedible - and I usually like my popcorn extra salty.

Go to Hoyts Sylvia Park often there is enough parking there if not during peak hours. There is a good range of movies and food to choose from. The online buy and pickup is great to skip the queues. Join the Hoyts rewards as it builds up.

It's been upgraded since i was last there, way better now you don't have to stand in line, big improvement, & just love Ben & Jerry ice creams.

Absolutely love going here because of the recliner seats. Sure it may be a little more expensive but for me comfort in a not so crowded room is excellent which in turn gives me a much more satisfying experience.

We cant get enough from this place ....back again only this time we were given some promotional gifts...so cool! Bought alot of Junks.They werent busy too so the lines were so nice to us. Someone misplaced their mobile within our group only to have it given back to the rightful owner.So nice again.Better stop here? Sorry this r/v is not for SP this one for Botany Hoyts! But we did come here but my head was with Botany.

Autism friendly private movie sessions through Pasifika Autism Support Group 😍 the only time my kids have been able to enjoy a movie and BE themselves without being judged, put down or stared at 👍.

Customer service in the high pay area way great, food was yum. Seats were comfy. Pretty expensive though, was around $80 for two.

Watched the new Avengers movie. Was awesome. Only thing is that they didn't have two cashiers on and there was a long wait. Then they opened the second counter after there was a long queues

Why bother to pre-buy on line and then have to wait in a longer queue that the walk-ins are joining, buying tickets and goodies and YES be watching the same film? Please Mr Manager if you want us Punters to be pre-buy then give us VIP status or an app for our smartphones that we can check-in and go to our seat as per travelling to LA with Air New Zealand. The above said the experience when seated is 100% - it's just the poor front-house organisation that really winds me (and others) up!!

Some broken seats/hand rests, not that appealing. Very dirty bathrooms that haven't been replenished with amenities. Service and everything else is good.

Sylvia Park Hoyts, not to discriminate but is the BEST cinema in North ISland so far... We always go to LUX seating as it is most comfortable. An added bonus is their serving of hot food and drinks.

Hoyts sylvia Park has the most leg room of any cinema I have been to. The XTREMESCREEN is awesome. Unfortunately having to navigate through and around the mall isn't ideal. Parking and traffic during peak times can be troublesome.

i always book my ticket abd seat online to avoid the ques. Super Tuesday is great $12.50 adult ticket. The cinema is always clean.

One of the bigger and nicer movie theatres in New Zealand. Prices may be a bit high, but there are always lots of movies playing. And the Ben and Jerry's doesn't hurt either.

Please educate and train your staff properly, especially the younger ones to do there job correctly! Overall it's good!

We prefer the lux cinema here over Botany even though much further away. Like the new menu. Seats always work unlike other cinemas.

Wow. Such a modern space I was completely amazed. West Auckland has a long way to catch up. Probably need a back cushion for the seats.

Any seat in the Lux theatre is super comfortable BUT the ones at the top completely recline and are super spacious which is the absolute best 💯

Newly renovated Hoyts Sylvia Park. Looks like the same layout as Te Awa Hoyts cinema. Enjoy the movies on the xtreme screen . Handy to eateries outside too for pre-movie drink or nibble

Lux is pretty nice, bit pricey though. Also annoying that they still (in the internet age!) Charge an online booking fee. Could clean the restrooms more often also.

Love the Xtreme screen, the sound is really well balanced. La Prem or Lux as it's called now is my go-to for having a meal when watching a movie. Best cinema in town.

Xtremescreen doesn't disappoint. Big sound and screen. Other screens though in the same cinema I wouldn't bother. They were still screening in SD last time I was here.

This place is always busy we normally have a drink and order our dinner which is served when the movie starts it's great.

Had a false fire alarm, 30 min behind, very supportive staff on final entry, sales staff on counter sold tickets without warning us re other prior commitments

i love watching a good movie on the bigscreen and this is my go to cinema, i would otherwise give a 1star rating if it werent for the extreme screen comfortable seating & lux room experience...the downside is the main lobby.. prices for food drinks and combos are not clearly displayed and the lack of customer service especially during busy times, i always pay a little bit extra and buy my tkts online to beat the queue...however i often find myself complaining at the counter because priority isnt taken for online bookings when there is no counter open for line...overall experience average...
