J.First time in this cinema, I'm in shock... I love this place even when the screen is not big than others the quality are very good and the sound was so perfect... Delicious popcorn, soft drink in bottle also you have from tap but I prefer in bottle like used to and the ice cream good serve.. The employees so friendly and helpful!!! We will back soon!
P.I love this cinema. Nice customer service, good ticket prices and importantly totally reasonably priced snacks (a common issue with more known cinema names in my view). I will be going there more. Impressed.
A.Really cute cinema, allows you to bring your own food. Tickets aren't too expensive, and they have all the needed facilities. Perfect for date night

J.My absolute favourite place in the world to go to the movies! Cheapest place ever for families, at $40 for family of 2 adults and 2 kids (Check age limit online). Very friendly and polite staff. Clean, beautiful premises with an old school vibe that is deliberately charming. Food and drinks are priced up, just like everywhere else, so if you're hungry have a meal first next-door, before arriving for your movie, then maybe just buy a bucket of popcorn to share when you get there.
Make sure you get your tickets and popcorn at least 20 minutes prior to your movie starting, as the queue for the ticket counter is often long and it can take 10-15 minutes to reach the counter. If you risk leaving it to the last minute to arrive, and you are wanting to see a popular movie, chances are that it will be sold out by the time you reach the ticket counter. So be early!!!
All the theatres have beautiful large comfy chairs, which my NZ size 16 frame can easily sink into, and there's lots of leg space. Fantastic! The Monterey is a great place to hold a kids birthday party for 2-3 hours. You're allowed to bring your own birthday cake to share in the cafe area, and then you boomerang them back to their parents without having had to do anything except watch a movie and hand out buckets of popcorn and fizz drink lol! Awesome! The price is very reasonable.
P.Went to watch the screening of Space Jam 2 at Monterey Cinemas Howick. The interior of the location looks awesome!
& Must say the predecessor movie sequel was well worth it. Taught us family and values the bond that tie people together strength and unity 👍🏼🎥🎬😊
T.We enjoy coming to the Monterey because they always have a good mix of blockbusters and smaller independent films. The theatres are tidy and they don't blast the sound too loud. Tuesday is a great deal and there are some good little spots to eat nearby as well. Ice creams and popcorn are a must.

G.Great movie. Surround sound was a bit out of whack though. They made us sit against the wall at the back. We thought the theatre was fully booked with limited seating. Turns out it was less than half full and we could have had better seats in the middle.

Thoroughly enjoyed by a team of 12 kids & 4 adults, the two girls at the counter were polite & helpful enjoyed the movie, premises & customer service was great. Loved it!! Premises was just right for our team not too big not too small 10/10😊

I don’t go to movies often but was in Auckland on vacation and at a loose end. Intimate theatre with great leg room. Go there!
Could probably do with another pair of hands behind the counter but didn’t spoil a great evening with the family.

S.Cheap tickets worth going there for the ease of parking close to theatre. Nice front of house staff. Needed more staff on entry into theatre and cleaners as popcorn over seats really messy in cinema 1. But only $40 for family of 4 on boxing day 750pm 2018 with tickets available same day online..what could be easier! will go there every time half the price of other theatres. Thank you Monterey

A.Great prices, food catering is diverse enough that people with food allergies are able to purchase something to eat. Quaint and inviting set up (perfect for a movie night out), friendly staff, comfy chairs. Clean bathroom facilities for use as well. They hold events every now and then in conjunction with certain movies (eg girls night out etc).
J.Cute little cinema that's pretty cheap. You can buy hot food out the front and take it in with you. We got some pizzas and coffee that were pretty tasty. They also have mums and bubs sessions where they screen a kids movie (obviously) and no one cares if your toddler looses the plot halfway through. Or if you need to breastfeed your screaming baby that's totally fine too.

You will get bigger theaters, screens, comfier seats and more options in other cinemas, but all those big corporate cinemas flew off to find better profit somewhere else, so this is the best we have here.

A.Lovely Cinema to go to. It's intimate and cosy. Not too many people, as it is small. I have been there many times, and only once a bit disappointed in the service (it was slow) and the sound was a bit too low (personal opinion). I will keep going back there :) I just love it.

D.I prefer this cinema over most. They are cheap, have excellent food and wine selections, lots of movie snacks to choose from and even some tasty baked goods. Staff are always super friendly and helpful and the cinemas are usually fairly empty but also seem to be of higher definition than other cinemas. Highly recommended to everyone. If your in the area go and see what's playing :)

S.Felt very out of place as me and some of my friends weren't lighter skinned. From the moment we walked in we had stares. However the staff were awesome. The cinema volume was a little on the low side so will have to watch the movie again to hear what was said but overall experience was ok.
C.This is one of Auckland's great little secrets. Although occasionally let down by variable service standards ( some of the younger crew seem either untrained or 'too good for this job') the cinemas are invariably clean, small enough to be cozy, let you take in hot food etc from lobby cafe, and seats comfy enough for even the longest of films. Tons of nearby dining options and parking and, well, you do the math. Worth a go. Just don't expect too much from some of the weekend staff and you'll be glad you drove the extra distance.

R.I like to small look and feel of the cinema. The lines however for snacks and tickets are not seperate and we had to miss the beginning of our movie to wait in a long line to buy snacks. Other than that little issue, the place is great.

L.Small theatres with good acoustics and comfortable seats. Bar & snacks at the entrance with a restaurant next door. Because tickets are bought from the bar, there can be a significant queue - don't leave buying your tickets to the last minute!
A.The time before this was great, but the standards seem to have dropped. There was popcorn all over the floor from the last film and the toilets were not the greatest. The women at the counter were lovely though!

B.Lovely movie theatre smaller than the normal theatres but just as good if not better. You can grab a pizza and a drink or 2 before you go in or even take your wine through with you. Its like the LUX experience without the price 😁

M.It was too crowded when we went . It was my first time there and it was for a fundraiser , so I didn't like it . Too many people , the sound in the cinema wasn't loud like an event or hoyts cinema . The crowd was louder than the movie .
