S.Went to watch doctor strange, awesome cinema, had the popcorn was pretty good and a beautiful 7 up to wash it down, movie was great and the sound quality amazing. Just wish the chairs reclined back a bit or had the leg extender seats. No complaints either way.
P.This is the cheapest cinemas in Auckland $12 a movie but you do pay extra $2 for Xtreme & $5 for Premium but honestly that's my opinion, I have been to lots of cinemas and this is my go to cinema as I watch three different movies on that day, inbetween you can shop in Lynn Mall and catch up with friends, only down side is that you need to check the seats before you sit down otherwise you sit on a dirty chair, apart from that staff are great
C.Love the Cinemas. Reasonably priced tickets. Lots of leg space, decent size chairs to sit in and toilets conveniently easy to access. But the massive lines to buy snacks and the lack in choices when you finally get to the counter needs a big improvement. Until then, a well deserved 4 stars
D.Absolutely mind blowing service from the Manager and employee. 2 transactions, 1 for tickets then nearer the time of the movie, $14.00 combo of 🍿, 🍦 and drink. I enjoyed the whole experience so much I've become a loyalty card member. Well done team see u soon.
J.Went to watch Scream last night but the cinema was more of a horror. The smell of pee in the theatre ruined it for me. So nasty. The movie started at 8:45pm, but we sat in the dark with nothing on the screen until around 9:05pm. When the screen did light up they skipped the trailers and ads...which was okay I guess. Apart from that, I love how it wasn't over crowded on a Friday night and the staff member from Michigan (I overheard him say he was from there when a lady in front of me asked haha) who served me was a delight. Very happy to help attitude and even said have a good night when our movie finished. A suggestion, maybe some brighter lighting in the foyer area. Love smelling popcorn, gets me into the mood for my movie but didn't smell any...but then again I was at the last session of the night so maybe it was off
O.Cute small cinema, cheap ticket prices and close to the restaurants and bars.
The only negative is that the food is very pricey and at times the cinema is often booked out, so it can be hard to find a seat if you don't book in advance. If you plan ahead and show up early to avoid cues it is an enjoyable experience.
C.My sister raves about this place. I wasnt particularly interested but decided to try it and was delighted. Its super clean, great movie selection and fantastic value... about half the price of eVent Cinemas.

E.Loved going to the movies, was fairly quiet but I have to admit the cinema itself was a bit disappointing with the lack of cleanliness. Aside from having to clear someone else's popcorn off my seat it was a good experience

A.Tried booking online, but they had an issue taking my card details. Watched in the premium cinema and seats were so comfy and spacious. Floor however was so sticky. Guy at the counter was friendly in service
J.Was here on my birthday(Friday 11th) the man with I think a Canadian accent served hubby. Got the wrong date for our online booking, but the server was nice enough to let us watch our movie. Grateful for that. We always get awesome service when we come here. It does get a little crowded, food is a little expensive but hey that's the movies so we didn't mind paying for it. We always have a great experience coming here. CUTE, CLEAN, SERVICE IS SEKI👌👌 Always our go-to. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND if you haven't been here😊
C.The best value cinema I've been to. The food is about as expensive as you'd expect, but the tickets are cheap and the actual cinemas are pretty nice and the chairs are are actually decent.
I would recommend using the Titan XC theatre if you can, for the better screen and sound quality, but the others are still good and are often less crowded as well.
V.A flat 12 dollar budget movie place clubbed with the shopping experience at New Lynn and you know the answer...no qualms straight forward movie experience with all the Popcorn jazz that goes with it...But I simply love the staff and their Fries...😍🤗👍👏
A.If only they could have a dedicated line for buying food if you already have bought your tickets online. Otherwise such a nice clean theatre, almost perfect.
R.I think I've reviewed before, Reading is an excellent theatre where the staff have always been friendly, the place is clean and the standard chairs are large and comfortable. The actual screens are sharp and sound is as always awesome...
M.Being disabled and during the pandemic, the staff at Reading have been amazing. Incredibly helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.

J.Excellent quality cinema. We went to see a film in the Titan XC theatre and it was very well appointed. Modern spacious seating, exceptional sound system (rivalling that of a proper IMAX experience), and bright projector. $12.50 for the Titan XC showing, $10 for a regular showing. Popcorn is flavorful without being greasy or salty.
S.I love reading cinemas! Prices are amazing, it was nice and clean upon arrival. Staff are friendly, self-service available if you don't need any popcorn, sweets etc. Self-service can still be used if you are purchasing items, you will still need to pop into the queue to pick up the items though

M.The cinema itself is nice and comfy. The only point I regret is paying a full price ticket for my 4 year old while the film we came to see (paw patrol a couple of months back) was only just about an hour long.
Maybe a few bucks off would have been nice and there would probably have been more people than just the 2 of us in the room.

S.The handrails by the bathrooms were filthy but otherwise it's fine. The alcohol available is cold and the popcorn is fresh. That's pretty much all you really need and the seats of the cinema we were in were comfortable.

D.Titan XC isn't as cool as a proper Imax, but it is clearly the top of the line screen and sound. It's the best quality cinema I've been to in NZ.
A.Obviously cheaper than Hoyts and Event. The standard cinema seating is more comfortable than the gold class seating at Event. Facilities are always clean.

B.Great cinema. My partner and I love this cinema. It has a great atmosphere and usually very clean inside. Seating is plus sized so you are never crammed in. Nice and new and well kept. Prices are very reasonable. Pays to book online because there are limited seats as they are so big. This would be my first choice for movies.
C.Service was really good. I was asked to try my drink to ser if it tasted watery which it was so they gave me another one. Only dissapointing thing was a group of idiot teens decided to vape in the cinema near the end of the movie.
B.This place used to be really nice, but more recently feels a little run down and has a weird smell (smells a bit like a public toilet). Great sound in the extreme theater. Tickets and food seem more affordable than competitors

K.Great theatre, booked Premium tickets. Awesome experience, alcoholic beverages available as well as hot food. Super comfy seats with foot rest. Complex clean and tidy and staff super friendly. Great ticket prices. Only downside was service a bit slow, if you're ordering hot food don't leave it until the last minute.
A.Despite these guys being insanely busy (raining Sunday evening) they were super efficient and friendly with service. Made a mistake with our tickets and they were so accommodating to correct our error.

But I'd recommend planning to arrive early if you are ordering food or getting tickets especially in the busier time slots, even if you purchase tickets online (no online ticket line).
Seems to be understaffed at times when it is really busy.
But for the cost of tickets and comfort I guess you can't complain too much.

S.It's ok, understand its school holidays however the place was a complete mess. The staff were very young, and overstretched, and had a vagrant enter the moving seat at after seat quite obviously drunk. Frightened the hell out of my friends son who was with us also. I don't go to the movies often it's a treat however do have to say I was disappointed😪
K.Great cinemas, seats are awesome. Would be 5 stars if they had a separate queue for food only. No point booking online or using ticket machines if you just have to wait in the same line for everyone to buy their tickets last minute in front of you.

B.Reading Cinemas Lynnmall is my number one place to go for movies in Auckland. Their pricing for both movies and food beats any other in Auckland. The cinema is still quite new, and therefore clean and presentable. The managers there have also been super helpful every time I've had to talk to them, and it's great to see then giving back to the community with all their giveaways on facebook. Highly recommend!

B.Love the multiple self service screens. This makes looking for movies, booking a movie and scanning a movie ticket to print really easy. Screens and seats are reasonable for price. Nice bathrooms. I do wish all cinemas including this one had some cheaper snack options. Staff always seem friendly however whilst in a movie session I do think there should be someone that checks on the movie and possibly there is but I regularly see people take their shoes off and put them on the seats in front of them which is often in the view of the screen. I also hear people being quite loud and inconsiderate during movie screenings to the point where it's audible and you can't hear people talking in the movie clearly.
E.the Baby wouldn't shut up And the 6 year old was screaming constantly quiet place 2 is a good way to punish children great movie!
J.We were both cold in the front row of the premium theatre. Feet go up, but can't tilt back so stiff necks too. Movie and sound quality were great. Can't believe there are only two stalls in the women's toilet! Sad
U.Good cinema. Good ticket prices, cheaper than hoyts & event cinemas. Decent food & beverage menu as well. Only problem is their cinemas are never cleaned properly, always finding rubbish & pop corn on nearly every seat. Dont blame the staff though as they dont have much time in between movies to clean up however would be nice if they had more staff on board to clean up a little bit better however they're allgood.
S.Lovely clean theatres. Great prices. Like other movie theatres, it has movies at wierd times - too early for after work or too late if you get up early in the morning. Why not much starting between 6-7pm? Still my favourite of all the theatres though!
N.My wife and I wanted to watch a movie. Reading Cinema at Lynnmall is a short drive away and there is plenty of free parking. We saw "The Big Short" from the $15.00 premium seats. My wife ordered the chicken tenders and I had the beef sliders. The friendly staff asked us to go on into the movie while our food was prepared. Ten minutes later our meals were brought to us. The food was great. The seats are comfortable and have an adjustable leg rest. Our view of the screen was unobstructed. The quality of the sound and picture was excellent. Recommended.
C.Tickets are well priced here so it's good if you're on a budget or have a big family to take to the movies. Staff are great and helpful. The only down side for me was that they failed big time on cleanliness in the toilets and cinemas. Suggest that they have more bins when people finish their movies to put their rubbish. As the toilets where to start broke taps and sinks need to be fixed and toilets need to be more cleaned. Toilet paper needs to be restock also. When they first opened they were on par. Now it's just going downhill in the cleanliness department.
A.The cleanliness of the premiere class has greatly improved. But people can you please put your rubbish in the bins when you use this cinema.
Its awesome having a cinema back in New Lynn after 20 odd years of losing the last one. So can we please respect the movie experience for everyone.
J.This place is awesome, it's better than the other cinemas in Auckland. You actually have a better option here. Trust me you guys won't be disappointed. I have been here alot of times and service is great. Please give it a go. I have meet a lot of people who tell me they found the cinematic experience breathtaking.
D.Great surprise first time and the expectancy of long questions waiting was a deterrent but surprise as the atmosphere and staff efficiency was great. Organised professional and well oiled chain of staff and team. Well done New Lynn you may think for a first time this would be a deterrent not to go to that particular cinema again but totally opposite for the service, the price of tickets and food and the overall efficiency of how it ran during the last days of the holidays and the second day of a epic movie "End Games" the cinema ran well. Only draw back would be needing more expansion to hold more registers to cater for driving it's service more than this would of been a definite 5 to compensate for epic movies that have top billings. Well done team and yes enjoyed the hotdogs and chips that was great. I also like the idea of putting a billing up for keeping clean, taking your rubbish with you and putting it in the bin.
A.My favorite cinema! even when i lived on the north shore i would only come to this cinema and its the only one i go to! The seats are big and comfortable, clean, well priced, fresh popcorn and lovely staff unlike other places e.g. west gate Henderson etc where they have small seats always feels dirty food doesn't taste nice. This is my go to Cinema!
D.best in auckland. the sofa style seats with adjustable leg rest is excellent. compared to St Lukes's which is much closer to my place, they are two extra stars.
also the price is perfect. 15 dollars for a 3d movie with amazing sound and always clean. well its less then a year old.

D.$10.00 standard ticket for a new Release movie fantastic.Very convenient the ticket screen booths don't have to wait in line just purchase tickets there. unless your buying food.Toilets are at both ends of the theatre.Also a lift available from the car park down stairs.My favourite..excellent rewards if you have a reading card.
L.I feel like it's gone down hill a bit unfortunately. Still a great price and much nicer than Event cinemas but walking through the corridor to find your cinema after giving your tickets it has an awful smell which to me I can only describe as urine :/ The manager is fabulous though.
N.Ticket kiosks are easy to use and there are plenty. The staff on the food bar are friendly and patient. Some of the people in our group were indecisive but the lady serving still tried to be helpful. They have a bar area you can sit in if waiting for others to arrive.
We were in theatre 5 today which is the titan xc one which costs $14pp. The seats are comfy and the temperature is good. Screen and sound were good.
The major let down of this place is that it is messy. Stains on the carpet everywhere and just a strong uncared for look. Ok for a casual place to watch a movie but not for a special occasion..today was a casual visit for our family which is why it got an ok rating.
Expect to take a little walk to get here. The theatre is placed near the restaurants so there doesnt tend to be parking right there.
K.You can book online check in at the booths instead of waiting in a long line. Foods prices need to be reviewed the price of a choctop same price oops hold on not! More than the cost of a 2 litre container in supermarkets . Prices of tickets have increased from when first opened gone from $10 to $12 sadly this is going to turn a lot of low income whanau away once again Greed of the provider takes over. No, where for young mum's and dad's to entertain their youth and hallo, they'll hit the streets because mum and dad can't afford to take them . Oh gosh there goes another hike in west Auckland crime and DV...so what is good about this place really...well truth is nothing they open up and attract the poor and rich but once they've made their opening target's they once again provide only for the rich. Oh by the way the speaker system needs a tweak when you sit in extreme at top three rows it crackles and pops. Now I'm gonna bet some of you will disagree with my comments however, if your reality exists in the real world then you'd have to agree 'crime and poverty are the extended arms & fingers attached to the body of a rich man's greed.
A.One of the cheapest cinema in Auckland. The seats are quite comfortable and the audio is stunning even on their standard cinemas. The movies screened are similar to their competitors, hence, you don't have to wait. Parking can be challenging as they share the parking space with Lynnmall. If it would be your first ever visit, I would recommend that you physically went to the cinema to buy your ticket AND remember to get your reward card. Without having the physical card first, you won't be able to register for their reward plan/deals - which is very-very annoying.
S.Today was opening day. Obviously the staff were friendly and theatres tidy.... I'm sure in a few months it will still be great :) cheap prices. Leather seats. Food not bad prices..... for a theatre! Definitely will be my regular. God bless

C.Great price compared to other cinemas playing the same screenings... good atmosphere good food and they even have alcoholic beverages on offer when you buy your vanilla, mint or boysenberry ice cream. That's right. They have more than one flavour.
G.Went last night to see the 20:00 premium function of the Avengers. While the place was okay, I was disappointed because most of the reviews are just too good. The premium large reclining seats were good but when you're my size, you don't really care much about the seats. I was disappointed at the HOT MENU largely mentioned and praised was only 4 items. The wedges were simple but great, the hotdog was terrible. The popcorn was my top disappointment. THERE ISNT SWEET POPCORN, only plain lightly salted one (??!!!) 🍿. That felt unreal. And when we entered to see the movie there was no staff around neither controlling the tickets nor guiding us where to go. We had to ask at the bar which room to go as our ticket wouldn't say. So while the place was okay I have 3 top recommendations: 1- Sweet popcorn to be added urgently 2- ditch the unnecessary plastic in straws and sauce containers (it's unnecessary plastic waste as that food will be consumed within minutes, or al least restrict straws to kids menus only, adults don't need straws, especially when the seats come with tables) 3- Do more wedges, ditch the hotdog.
A.The cheapest and most respectable theatre I know. Well worth driving out to New Lynn for a meal before a film at the wide variety of restaurants next door to the cinema. All without breaking the bank. It really surprises me people don't go there more often.
D.Its an awesome movie theatre with cheap prices & nice comfy seats especially for premiere, although they should do away with the straws & bring back the plastic straws although it was a great movie experience. Will definitely be returning soon!
R.The movies here cost $10 and $12.50 for 3D or off-brand IMAX, and the seats are huge, so I don't know why you would choose to go anywhere else if you want to see a new release. It can get a bit busy and sometimes there are small children running around in the aisles, so if this is going to be a problem for you, you should try and avoid big new movies on Friday or Saturday nights. The food is pretty expensive, but can balance out if you buy a combo, which is enough to share between two people, they're all enormous.
A.Very roomy seats, enough of space between rows, very cheap tickets. Have no clue why people don't know about this cinema or never attended for it!

S.Can't believe I had never been here or even heard of it! So so cheap compared to event cinemas, I would have been here heaps more if I had known about it you guys need to advertise more! The actual cinema rooms themselves are also way nicer with bigger seats and arm rests. Will definitely be back soon
P.First time at Reading Cinema, was great in the Titan room. Staff was fairly rude and seemed to be not so interested in being there. Food is below average, would not recommend eating here. Feels like undercooked microwave food. Popcorn lacked buttery flavour and was coated in excess salt to compensate. Before purchasing tickets noticed Pepsi drink fountains, which was my first disappointment.
I would go again only to the Titan room because it has Dolby Atmos. Oh and there website doesn't work. Then the seating arrangements didn't match the room and it failed to process the booking for some reason resulting in having to buy onsite, which then took even longer as there kiosk were not working and only tiny notices stating their eftpos terminal wasn't working. Would have been nice to just display on screen that it is not working. Which resulted in many customers wasting their time booking then finding out right at the end its not working.
T.More afforadable than Hoytts and Events cinema $11 for an average ticket and $15 for a titan.
Their choc tops are a great addition to the menu and the popcorn deals are relatively affordable compared to other cinema prices.
Lots of good restaurants if you're interested in dinner and a movie.
H.Awesome sound, lovely comfy seats and huge screen with fresh popcorn for a 9pm show. My only issue is, sitting in row J, my legs were cramping up a bit (2 hour movie with long legs) nobody's fault, I just wish I had more leg room to stretch ! 😑

N.Toilets were a disgusting mess, taps didnt work and smelt of urine. The food is pricey but the actual cinema has comfy seats and nicely elevated so you get full screen view, not half of peoples heads
C.Great cinema, the seats are really comfortable and the ticket prices even for their Titan screen are so cheap. I just wish they had more toilets and foldable lids on their popcorn. Pepsi drinks are also a let down, personally I can't drink the stuff.

m.Always a great place to watch movies with restaurants and fast food and the mall right on it's doorstep. Always have great and friendly service here. Tickets and food are both well reasonably priced, even when paying more for titan xc or premium cinemas! Love coming here. Only reason i gave 4 stars is the fact there is always sooo much rubbish and popcorn everywhere!

S.They gave us the single worst popcorn I've every received in my 23 years of living on this green earth it was nothing short of a Greek tragedy, the popcorn consisted of 50% kernels and 50% rubber popcorn, also the ice cream was only a single choc top scoop and they charged $4.50 for that it ain't right it didnt taste right either, everything else was fine

F.I always go to reading cinemas. It is so much cheaper than other cinemas, and in my opinion a better cinema all together. The seats are more spacious and far more comfortable. I'd day it's a great little date night idea to come to the reading cinema after a dinner at the brickworks downstairs.

J.Cons: Far too dark and noisy to do any serious reading. While I tried to make some headway in Eat Prey Live, a very loud sound system started playing some kind of audio drama and a distracting flickering light about the size of a cottage started up and didn't stop for over two hours. Pros: only costs $11 to get in and the puffy salt chews are delicious.
S.Nice place, they play all the best movies (You can't beat watching on a big screen) loads of theaters so lots of viewing times to work with, staff are always friendly and helpful, and under ground car parks make it easy for access. Great way to spend a night out.
A.The Titan XC theatre is hands down the best cinema in the city: great screen size, every seat is Gold Class level comfy, and it's the only theatre in all of Auckland with Dolby Atmos! And if you're on a budget, the regular theatres are only $10 a ticket! I don't even live out west but I will go out of my way to drive out here for movies every time!

m.I like comming to this cinema but one of the staff by the name Hannah was rude and she gave my family a filthy look with disdain to proceed to the waiting area of the cinemas as we were checking in 5 minutes prior to the film starting. I feel she needs training in customer service as she made us feel a lot of discomfort. I also felt judged personally and this is unacceptable as I am a customer not one of her classmates she probably picks on to make herself feel superior.

The tickets are priced at $xyz but in reality it is $xyz + booking fee when booking on line.
Given that on line booking doesn't use human interaction surely the process SHOULD be cheaper.
If this 'Booking Fee' is to cover the cost of the credit card transaction then bloody hell that is expensive given that the major cards generally only charge 2% - 4%!!!!!!

The Titan screen is almost as large as the Extreme screen at Sylvia Park and the IMAX on Queen Street, the sound system is better to my ear than extreme screen, the seats are better than IMAX and you save about $10.
Shopping and eating nearby is limited but you snuck in lollies from the supermarket anyway.
