Went and saw the secrets of dumbledoor I had a large popcorn a kumara fries and a coke to share with my partner. The cinemas were nice and clean and the bathrooms very tidy. Good experience and the lady at the counter was friendly and welcoming

I had to see the movie FLEE and all these wonderful film fest films are always at RIALTO... one of my favourite places in the world! The real treat is Kapiti Icecream in a cup. Bravo Rialto. I love you.

Super cute little cinema with a good selection of drinks and nibbles! Love coming to this cinema as it's often a bit quieter too. Has a balcony which is nice to sit and enjoy a drink before the movie. :)

Honestly torn here bc the Rialto was one of only 2 theatres playing the 2 movies I wanted to see but the overall theatre experience was so antiquated and run down. The popcorn tasted stale and bland, the Coke was a bit flat, there's no cupholders in the seats, and the toilets were literally leaking underneath and pouring water onto the tile floor. The man at the counter was nice though and the seats were at least stadium seating and clothed with large armrests even if nothing reclines or moves. They were also posting paper flyers of movie reviews up which, while 'old school', was also a movie-lover's unique touch.

Came in last week to watch a movie and really enjoyed it, staff were so friendly and everything was super clean. I am definitely coming back

I love the Rialto, top notch service and have a great movie selection, they have the newest releases but also new indie films aswell. Plus they serve great hot food too!

The multiplex for the lover of Arthouse cinema. Always a good selection of kiwi and foreign films as well as a range of specialist film festivals. Good selection of kāpiti ice creams, wine as well as the usual selection of nibble nook treats. Tickets earn CineBuzz points if you give the staff your card (or card number)

Great choice of movies. Hot food selection available and wine. Comfortable seats and room for got food.

Great cinema they have film festivals and films that aren't quite mainstream. They have 6 or 7 screens and the cinemas are a good size. The snacks include a cheese board and they have a bar. However the drinks are a little pricey. Still a good place to come to the movies.

Excellent and varied selection of high quality movies, shown in smaller sized theatre multiplex. The theatres themselves are clean and comfortable, with good slope and wide armrests. Food selection is goodish - maybe a little lacking in variety, but then it’s not a large cinema

Entrance and welcome are fine. Good selection of films You can buy a wine to drink during the film. The queues for tickets are often long. The facilities are a needing a good tidy up Overall, a good but not great experience.

Quaint cinema in Newmarket that shows mainly indie and art films. It's really great to have a place that shows serious movies and not just the mainstream rubbish Hollywood is churning out.

I enjoy going to the Rialto in Newmarket. They have very deep meaningful movies which you don't get in the Event Cinemas. I saw a good movie yesterday. It was called "Nomandland". Just beautiful and so real. Then I go with my friend to get a beautiful yogurt icecream. That just fine finishes off the day!

Great movie theatres. Good movie selection with many independent film festivals options. There is a pleasant area both inside and outside to meet and catch up with friends before your movie.

Amazing Cinemas with a great range of international and independent films, I like how the cinemas are boutique and staff are always helpful and friendly.

Great movies but chronically understaffed, you will want to arrive at least half an hour before your movie on busy nights like Friday and Saturday. Please be kind to the staff, they are hard workers and are doing their best with what they've got - no matter how stressed you are, they're likely 1000x more stressed!

Our group enjoy the opera season, staff pleasant.quite a trudge for the disabled from cinema to the facilities.

This wasa really nice laid back movie experience. Staff were helpful and there was good selection of movies. The theaters are intimayeandyou can take your coffees etc in with you. Check it out.

This is a very quaint place. Comfortable seating. Descent food and wine to choose from. Yes and I dream as well... check it out for an upcoming movie. You can visit in person to see if there is something you like, as they have a very nice e bulletin board as well an illuminated screen above the counter and detailed flyer at the counter as well. Bring a friend. Have some wine an go see a good movie.

Great multiplex Theatre in the heart of NewMarket. Wide range of popular and art style movies. It also has a food court adjacent to the theatre.

One of the nicest theatres I have ever been too. Love the food and drink selection, plus there is a great selection of not so mainstream movies. Only comment is bar and food area could be better serviced and staffed, there was quite a wait to order drinks, considered walking away and some other people did.

Large seats where very bulky but low and felt like we short people needed a foot rest. Mo ie sound incredibly loud, not old enough to be deaf yet but this level of sound surely doesnt help protect ones hearing for future years!

Excellent small cinema in Newmarket with coffee etc available. Have been here many times. Not so busy as the big cinemas. Event cinema rewards card works here too. (Cinebuzz)

Great little cinema with a unique range of films

I love this theatre. It’s small, cosy and has good wine and ice cream. The best movies in my opinion show there.

Habakkuk 3:17. What an amazing plot. Subtle presentation of faith in God our Father and yet trusting when everything go wrong.One does not need to be a christian to experience the inspiration and encouragement.

Very impress with the facilities. The staff are friendly and helpful. Comfortable seats both in the lounge and theater. Have signed on to Rialto to gain more benefits.

Great film offering including International films, film festivals and streaming live opera shows (if you like that sort of thing). Good coffee, Kapiti ice cream. Senior Citizen rates on offer

We like the seating wider than usual, comfortable and clean. The bar area is a plus. Been many times, not so busy as others which is a major plus for us.

Always have a great range of movies (& DVD's) and Art House movies as well. They need to sort out the serving system though..... the wait for food/wine/ice cream service is far too long.

Classy, clean and classic. Love the Rialto, love to see films I can't see anywhere else. Also the large seating and flat drinks rest area to put your wine is a delight!

Really enjoy the vibe here. A good variety of movies. A bit of history: by the loos used to be Christian city Church with great memories. Now two staff cupboards😯 Great wine and snacks so good for coffee or wine after work.

Nice. Would like to see a more secure place to put drinks whilst in the theatre. Had it in the back of my mind I'd knock mine off the platform.

it's a great cinema with some art-house movies on offer that you won't find in any of the multiplexes. Nice, old-school deco, bar and a hip clientèle. Unfortunately, rather overpriced so only Tuesdays are a good time to go.

The cinema itself is quite nice, and usually has one or two slightly-less-mainstream films playing. Here's the thing though - it is full of olds. Olds everywhere, milling about in the lobby, sitting in the first seats they see when they wander into the cinema 20 minutes before the film starts and grumbling when you ask them to move out of your allocated seats, olds that leave the showing every 15 minutes to get more food and have a wee, then leave 10 minutes prior to the end so they can get to their car in time, olds that check facebook on their phones the entire movie long and show each other pictures of their children. Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice cinema, and some of the olds are probably quite nice.

Awesome selections of movies, they don't only show Blockbusters! Few cine festivals are shown there. Option to get a glass of wine and a delicious Kapiti ice cream. I like the more chilled atmosphere of this cinema compare to many other huge ones. Being located in Newmarket, it can be hard to find a park and often need to be paid for.

Went to see Supernova, brilliant movie! The rialto is always a good experience, love the kapiti icecream they serve.

Cosy boutique-feel theatre with a great little bar for pre-snacks and grab a wine to take into the movie. Nice!

This is one of my favourite cinemas, with its variety of genres and food!

Perfectly adequate cinema. The seating is comfortable but getting a bit old now. Speaking of old, likely due to the less mainstream films, this cinema is a hot spot for elderly people.

Good movies. Expensive though. Ordered tickets online and had to buy food to complete ticket purchase. By the time we'd been to the movie, parked etc, we'd spent $60. Goal to complex run down. In need of refurbishment.

Great movies, great place to chill and enjoy a glass of wine ahead of the movie. Just a shame that there are queues too long and too often. Feel for the staff.

Great cinema very comfy seating odd that our seats issued so that we had to climb pass so many already seated we didnt we just sat elsewhere.

While the range of films on offer at the Rialto is quite good, and the staff service is likewise, parking is a major problem for access. Make sure to book online in advance for any tickets, as the small cinema sizes can mean you miss out on tickets easily.

Great movies, comfy seating &drinks from the bar or to your seat!

I have just come back home from the cinema where one of the patrons went to tell someone at the desk that we had been waiting for 10 minutes and apparently the person who was supposed to start the movie had "forgotten"! Thank goodness they didn't show the advertisements so we weren't kept waiting.

This is a lovely boutique cinema with great adult food and drinks. As well as showing all the popular films they also have a range of art and film festival movies. Their is also a parking building close on Kent st

This was my third NZIFF on the day. The ticket man was great - quick and helpful. The seats were comfortable. And the movie was fab.

A cinema with ambiance. You get the usual blockbusters but festival movies as well. The service is good and there is a nice selection of beverages including bubbley.

Watched a documentary at this cinema and it was great. The sound and film quality were great while the seats were very comfy and relaxing

Risk to Cinema is a fully equipped cinema.It has four good performance hall providing people to enjoy.And it's food court where are some foods could be selected by you .

Place is beginning to look a bit tired and could do with some work, but I like it and going there is fun. However, it is always understaffed at peak times and often the queues are long, people everywhere with minimal staff running about trying to cope. This is a real downside. The Capitol in Dominion Rd is actually a way better cinematic experience all round and the Rialto should take note.

If you have an English background and appreciate the cold humor of Newcastle, go and see The Duke. Loved it !!

Clean and tidy. Wheelchair access available. Menu and drinks served. Several cinemas on site, seating is comfortable. Very enjoyable evening.
