Topic Rentals have been instrumental in providing honest and genuine advice for renting / purchasing new gear. James and his team are dedicated individuals who services are highly professional with a personal touch. Every time I've walked in I've always been greeted almost immediately, even if a staff member is busy helping someone, I always get a "Hey, How are you?, someone will be right with you". All of my primary gear are purchased via Topic, ever since I first got my Nikon D7000 serviced from Topic (5 years ago), I keep going back to them. Topic are now my go to for renting equipment. I'm yet to have any issues with rented equipment. Batteries and accessories are always checked and charged. The staff are knowledgeable and easy to work with. I recently rented the Ronin#2, the staff let me rig up my camera and test everything before we left the shop. If you want reliable equipment that won't fail on a shoot, Topic is the place to go.

We rent photo gear here at least once a week. The team knows their stuff, as they are all photographers themselves. The shop is very cool and I have yet to ask for something they can't supply. Great place to buy new gear as well as previously rented gear that they are replacing with the latest model. Also, if you want to try a new model of something, they generally have it as soon as it's on the market. Selling Nikon, Cannon, and Sony gear (not to mention lighting, gopro,and video gear) I am always able to leave with what I need to get a job done.

I can't recommend Topic enough, I tell everyone I know to go there. I've hired from a few different places and no one is as constantly friendly or helpful as the staff are at Topic. There should be an option for 10 starts. They're incredible to work with and the gear is so well organised. I don't live in Auckland but still hire from them. Even with last minute shoots in the south island they get the gear I need down to me as quick as possible.
