A large play center by the Ground Eatery. There is quite a lot for kids to do here like run around on the playground or go on the giant net. It is a nice place for kids to run around in, before or after eating. The tuck shop is also a nice place to grab some ice cream.

Mr. 3 years old really loves this place. He was afraid to go up at the beginning then refused to go home after he understood how to get in and out. Many younger kids cried because they could not find the way to climb out. Food was much better than we expected. It’s too much for us to finish. Ice cream for kid was not too sweet. I think it depends on the flavour, too. Restroom is nice and clean.

I’ve only recently been able to finally check this place out, I heard the food is amazing, and I was not disappointed. Everything in there was halal but we ordered a bunch of vegetarian food. I highly recommend the vegetarian dumplings they were delicious! The kids (3 year old and under 1) had a blast in the playground. We were not able to try the theatre yet but we had an awesome time through and through. We just had to purchase tickets for the kids to be able to play on the playground, and we found out about that later 😅.

The playground was perfect for my inquisitive 2 year old. The crochet play net was fantastic!! Such an opportunity for her to be independent and practice her climbing. The Grounds restaurant was a lovely setting. Here, they offered high chairs, a kids menu and the family rooms are not far away.

It’s so niceee! My baby boy loves it! And the food is good and not that expensive is actually really taste too, and the ice creams are a hit! Love this place

Highly recommended cafe, restaurant and playground suitable for 2+ years old. You dont need to have kids to enjoy the food but it helps! About the park: Its a creative park where children can use their imagination and make games rather than a physically challenging park. Songreat if they come with a friend. There is no charge for the park only and no gate to enter. About the cafe: At the side of the restaurant is a cafe. It serves toasties, chips, and delicious ice creams (like really good unique flavours). About the restaurant: You can find fhe menu online. I had the ribs - good, great presentation and about 30 dollars. Not amazing. But your paying for the restaurant beinf right nexf to the park and it is great. The wagyu burger was good. Their french fries were amazing! Kids toadtie went down well too and service was good. Really rrcommended. We were there for more than three hours. The children played while we caught up with friends. Priceless!

Love the setting of this place. Open, creative, spacious. The playground is fine for walkers to 6-7yr. The show ok from 3yrs up. Good place for the little monsters to vent, and the cafe/resturant is awesome! Shop is closed at the moment however used to be a good spot too!

Really nice place, big and nicely decorated. Food was amazing: we had gnocci with ragu sauce and tagliagelle with sea food... and the service increible, very friendly staff. Lots of kids during the day which could be a bit annoying if you are not a parent, but they also open for dinner... highly recommend, i will definitely be coming back!

Quite expensive but good quality and tasty food. Great coffee. But what I like the most is the playground! A morning or afternoon is so easily gone just enjoying and having fun!

The playground area is pretty cool, best for older adventurous kiddies, we went the shows weren't running so it was a little costly for what it was essentially a playground

What an awesome experience for parent and child alike. The restaurant has top quality foods. The playgrounds are great for kids. Will recommend it to anyone.

Great playground for young and the young at heart. Huge waterside was a hit with the kids. $20pp to access playground, obstacle course and waterside. Restaurant/cafe onsite positioned perfectly so you can relax with kai/drinks and watch the kids play safely at playground. Too distant from waterslide to observe, rest assured though this is manned by staff.

It's such a unique place and it suits everyone especially families. In New Zealand there aren't any nice restaurants (by nice I mean nice food + decor) that's also kids friendly. I love it and will return.

Wow! Out West and simply the best. Plenty of activities for the kids. They loved this net tramp. A long bouncy obstacle course was heaps of fun. Lunch off an excellent varied menu did not disappoint, followed by homemade ice cream blocks. Also a puppet show was on which we did not have time to attend. Check it out 👍

Overall ok. Great that we took some photos on the red carpet . Place is new outside area is fun. Need to pay $10 to get in and play, ordered the $40 pp meal but was very light, not filling and costs a fortune. Please come with lots of money if you want food.

Great day out for the kids. Playground was $10 per child and $5 for the blowup adventure course. We got there when it opened so it was nice and quiet. Water fountain on site so bring your drink bottles.

Went here for dinner with my MIL, hubby and our 20 month old. Service was great, music was great, food and portion size was great! The dumplings were some of the best I’ve had! Loved that we had the freedom to go back and forth from the playground. 10/10 will be back. So delicious.

Mixed feelings hence 3 star. Good playground, but the place seems to be always over-booked. We've been twice, first time it took two reminders and 45 mins to get a hot chocolate. Service is super slow not because they don't care, just too many guests, so staff is super busy even to update you on your table, takes ages even to get a coffee. Expensive! 200ml Chocolate milk costs $7.5! Yikes. But food quality, taste, innovation is excellent, if only traffic/booking management was good this would be an excellent place and get 5 stars easy.

Went here tonight with a work function, food was okay I was not overly impressed I think it is way to overpriced, I have had bigger bowls of fries for way cheaper and tastier! I wish they had chicken on the menu but they don't on the adult menu. I also asked if my lamb could be well done but they said it doesn't come well done?? That was a bit strange?? The simple things were very nice like the kids butter pasta was actually really good!! Dumplings were okay but way way to much sauce and salty. Ice creams are displayed beautifully and are actually really good! I am purely giving 4 stars well he deserves 5 a young waiter who tended to our table his name was Jaeden, I think he is amazing, good at what he does, looked after my kids and all their requests, so lovely and kind and it's these sorts of people that make the experience even better! Catered to our every need and very thankful for that, hard working and deserves 5 stars! So thank you Jaeden. My kids love the play ground that's also a huge bonus! Highly recommend the playground area all in all was a great night lovely staff made it worthwhile.

Four kids in tow to watch Who wants to be a superhero. Great show very informative and interactive for kids. Would definitely recommend. Loved the whole park area. Net park looked abit unsafe as it became very crowded and crying kids trying to get out of it. Would recommend some kind of control especially during busy periods. The restaurant looked great will try that next time.

Fantastic day out. Won two passes paid for 5 on a great deal @$15 each. The show was as professional as any I've seen , the obstacle course and water slide a huge hit and the playground awesome. Def do this again.

Has a pretty cool playground. Shoes are a must as the ground gets so hot there you can't walk on it.the show was cool the kids enjoyed. Waste a cheap day they don't allow you to bring your own food or drink into park. Unfortunately the kids didn't like the toasties and chips for $11 or the hot dog and chips for $11 would be better if you were allowed to bring in fruit, snacks and a drink for a surcharge rather than having their menu as your only option

This places main attraction is definitely its awesome playground however, the food at the restaurant is so over priced and depending on the dish comes such a small serving. I ordered the fish a while back, paid 35 dollars for a small piece of fish, some hummus and couscous. It was very tasty but I was so so disappointed, went again a few weeks ago, Got the summer pasta, the menu stated it came with mushrooms, came with 3 thirds of a mushroom and was so overly vinegar flavored, not to mention that the portion was quite small in regards to the other meals the table had ordered, a very average tasting meal. Has high stars because of the playground but because of the high prices and, a lot of times, small portions my rating has lowered.

I absolutely loved the place. My girls had a blast playing in the crochet net and the playground is very nice. Gorgeous to be more specific. Mind blowing to think one person knitted it for 2 years! Because I went late in the afternoon, I missed the chance of trying the café. Although I understand that the prices are in the high(ish) end, I see it more of a treat. What parent doesn't deserve one from time to time? I'll save my review for The Grounds on its own link. But if you want to take your kids to have fun, totally worth it. You have to do it at least once. The place is "upmarket", so if you are not a fan of paying extra, it pays to bring your own snack (not to be consumed in the restaurant grounds).

Playground is for young children. Below 8 year olds. The restaurant looks great and the menu is good but lacks some universal options like anything chicken, but the pork dumplings were delishous😋. Having a few more options for non beef and seafood eaters would earn this place a 5 star for the restraunt alone.

Amazing place for the kids with a theatre puppet show and top notch cafe.

Came to celebrate a special event. Service was excellent. Very funky space. The roast potatoes are a must try! The milk chocolate pannacotta was great too! My main was average (tagliatelle) but my mom said her fish was abosolutely delicious. Love the wee Christmas shop and sets.

We came just for the playground and wasn't disappointed. The park closed earlier than usual due to a private function but my two (5&7years) played non stop for 3 hrs and loved every minute. The playground really encourages imagination and sensory play. So much fun. Plenty of space for adults to sit and relax, very safe environment for kids to run around. Ice creams were to die for too. Highly recommend.

Its a nice place but i find this umbrella suuport near playground canbe very dangerous if a kid fell over on them.this kind of hazrads covers with plstic caps even in building construction sites since they are really dangerous .so i kindly requirest from the mangement please cove them when umbrellas are not used.

Fantastic kids playground, a restaurant that's so good it's odd it's attached to a kids playground. Very happy with our little visit here.

Great playgry for kids..very unique and creative..you need to pay before u can use the playground..under 5 it's free and $7.50 for over 5s..the cafe is good ..it's a lil pricey for juSt grabbing a Snack..the ice cream shop has some great treats.

Great playground and excellent food. At 2.5yo our eldest is far too young for the shows but we were happy to just visit the playground. Bistro was excellent - fantastic food and the service staff were really nice. I'd sum up the bistro as 'a fine dining experience that welcomes families'. There were a lot staff on but it still took a while to be seated, then to get menus, then they got the order a bit muddled etc. Nice staff but still learning. Food came out reasonably fast which was great with our kids approaching witching hour. We were stoked to have a really nice meal as a family. Will definitely be back!

Amazing playground, delicious food. We had a fun kids birthday party here, they all had a great time with face painting and hours on the playground.

3 stars... For the food (although quite pricey) and the kids playground. However lost 2 stars for the unbelievably rude service from the bitter old woman (who appeared to be running the cafe). Never have I had a hand shoved in my face when trying to add to an order. Do not expect simple cafe items (we were offered the remaining few muffins from a breakfast menu at 11am) whereas the rest of the items are over-glorified. On the other hand, a plate of clearly burnt hot cakes were swiftly replaced (by the younger staff member), with an apology too.

If you ever wonder where to go with your hatch-lings, to keep them entertained, fed and tired up for the day - this is the place. Their playground is fun and well equipped, the puppet show is really great and the on-ground restaurant is really good. So that takes care of the parents' need for some nice grub and the caffeine habit. During summer, they even have some water related play area set up. Basically, it's a day out fun for the entire family - young and old. You'll be quite glad taking the clan there.

Good atmosphere, nice food & beverage, friendly place for kids

An absolutely amazing facility for so many reasons. Children love the playground for it's unusual climbing net and pirate themed playground. With plenty of outdoor seating parents love that they can grab a coffee and watch the children safely. Not just that but the restaurant here is amazing and now does brunch. Families drive from all over Auckland to experience this great family environment. As well as that there is Whoa Studios itself which shows great children themed shows.

Best place for kids Andthen nice food with friendly crews

The kids love the Whoa studio playground the first time we visited so we thought we would make a return trip. I find the $10 per kid entry a bit expensive and the second time around the kids lost interest in the playground pretty quickly. They both also managed to get injured on the climbing net (one got stomped on and the other one managed to fall out from one of the holes further up) so our visit was cut short. I do love the fact parents can sit and watch the kids playing while enjoying a cold drink.

Food is delicious (but a bit pricey) with options for kids PLUS their desserts are divine. Best of all if you have littlies they can burn off their energy on the playground just outside.

Great place for kids to spend a day at, with good food and ice creams.

My daughter had fun, even though we both got saturated in the rain (playground isn't covered). But there's a cool big rope-cobweb thing, a wooden play castle with cubby holes and slides, a climb able boat and inflatable obstacle course for the kids! And a tuck shop, wacky icecream flavours, puppet shops, a gift shop and more!

Great place to take the kids. Let's the run free while you enjoy some delicious food from the restaurant. The show is also a good way to keep the kids happy. Prices are a little steep.

Lovely playground, the crochet net is amazing. Also awesome having a restaurant next to the playground so you can watch the children whilst they play.

Great playground for the kids- I love how there is so much for the kids to do- even though at face value it doesn't look that extensive! Hours of fun! :) The only down side for me was the price of the food on site- and you can't bring your own food in. Great place to visit.

we went there today for breakfast 😋, customer service was great . FOOD was very disappointing, we ordered Big Breakfast it wasn't very appealing just looked regular breakfast we can make at home . Over cooked bacon 🥓 ,sausages and bread was burnt toast , I couldn't cut the bread and bacon with the knife. Differently we not going back there .

Great spot. Lovely menu which is tasty and well presented. The coffee is great too but if you are looking for a breakfast tea skip Whoa! the water was cold, the tea never changed colour and had no flavour. I do like a strong cup so that was disappointing. There is fantastic kids facilities, a theatre and epic playground area. It you have kids of any age this is a great spot.

Great show for the kids and family. 7yr old granddaughter and 4 year old grandson, loved it

What a fun place! Lots of fun activities and a beautiful resturant and theatre! My son loves it!

Food was average. Tables tightly packed in. And prices aren't cheap. It's a good place to take your kids if it's warm and not raining as they can go and play outside. If it's raining I'd recommend booking a show. Very busy and you need to book a table well in advance of you want to eat here.

Fun place for kids and a nice place to relax for adults. Smallish but creative playground, nice coffee and food selection, good puppet shows. My kids love the popsicles. Probably enough parking space for cars. Show tickets are cheaper if bought online. Indoor and outdoor tables. Will come back again

We came to the Doods Show, the kids were very excited and had lots of fun. The playground is quite unique. The cafe is open to the public. The place is new and has potential to grow bigger and better. A bit pricey though.

My partner and I came here for brunch this morning. In all honesty, the menu didn’t scream at us and I wasn’t keen about going because it’s a kiddy based playground. How wrong was I!! Could barely hear the kids playing, the menu, what we individually ordered was just above awesome, the staff... wow, they were all over us without being annoying! They gave us drinks on the house because they thought they took too long, we weren’t in a hurry so really wasn’t a major. 100% will recommend this place, can’t say enough about it, super impressed!

Nothing else like this in Auckland - playground and decent quality food! We would of loved table service outside so the toddler could of played played and played but it was too windy. $10 for the playground I guess isn’t too bad considering it’s amazing but prices do add up quickly! But it’s great to have something more up market than chipmunks!Will def be back in summer!

Great place to bring kids, layout of this place is unique. There is a cafe great for parents indoor and outdoor seating. I didnt get a chance to try the food but the smelt pretty good.

Nice location, great for kids. We sat outside and they were a bit busy so the service could have been a little bit better. We were a big group and dine of us could have ordered more coffee's etc. Food and coffee was great though. The kids enjoyed it and allowed the parents to relax. We would definitely go again. We went for lunch, but need to try them for breakfast and dinner next time.

Love this place. Kids had a great time playing in the park. Actual studio and show was great. Toy shop was very kid friendly and sold items that are affordable. Friendly staff. Cafe was amazing but very busy over lunch time do hard to find a seat. Home made ice creams are very expensive.

Great place for the kids to run around(and for parents to get involved too) there is a cover charge for the kids but it's not your average playground. The staff are switched on, the food is decent. Just don't go if you are on a tight budget. A real quality place in all aspects. We haven't been to one of the shows yet.

My 16 month old enjoyed the show, especially the songs. The playgroup was nice, a bit busy over the weekend. Will be going back to the playground ona week day. Staff were friendly.

Second visit to Whoa! Studios. Such a cool place to take kids. The food is delicious and of a very high standard (but worth noting it isn't cheap). Great playground. The performance/production is very unique and highly entertaining. As mentioned earlier, it is a rather costly place to visit but you definitely get your money's worth. There isn't anything else around like Whoa! Studios as far as I'm aware.

Fun for the whole family, great safe environment and world class entertainment. I took my 5 year old nephew, it was my first time looking after a 5 year old by myself for a whole day, and my choice to spend half the day here was definitely the key to my success(that is, we both survived!). The live show was entertaining for both of us and the playground is really cool. I can only see this place getting better over time, which is good because we plan on going back for the next show!

Great place to take the kids. They can play safely while the adults can have decent coffee and great food. Shame it's unlicensed but hopefully we will see the trust hegemony removed soon so great people who want to make cool things can be properly rewarded

I went with my 7 years old son to the show this afternoon. For the price I was expecting a better musical (when I compare it to our school production) so it should not be more than $15. Then the chicken hamburger for $25, not that great!...

Went with 7 year old. Show and play area great! Summer they have the inflated course (ninja warriors style hahaha) and be sure the kids brings their swim gear as there's a large water slide. Must be at 1 metre tall to go on this. Can't bring your own food on premises but fresh water available on tap. Cafe on location if you want food and other beverages.

This was pretty cool, the kids loved it (FYI, we didn't see a show). BUT, OMG, $7 for a small dish of fries? $8 for a small bottle of juice (Which tasted so bad by the way. And they didn't replace it.)? The coffee was good but pricey as well. I also think $10 is a little pricey for a playground. You have to pay more for the other activities. But, hey, if you don't mind paying the money, go for it I say. Your kids will love it!

Solid place. Nice to be able to go out for a coffee and a muffin and watch the child play. Some of the equipment needs a bit of TLC as it’s been very well used.

Don't try to order an orange juice, you will be told they only do their mix of orange, carrot and ginger. Well I don't like ginger so the only other option was some kids melon drink. Then don't ask for the kids meals to come at the same time as the other meals because even though we were given the option it didn't happen for us. Personal opinion, there are some top notch clever items coming out of the kitchen but many others are trying too hard to be something special and missing many basic requirements.

Personal rating is more along the lines of a 4/5. But that is because I don't have kids yet. Rating this for what it is, a very kid friendly and good place to eat. Nice food. Nice atmosphere. Beautiful decor. A lot o kids :P

first tim to go with kids, and i loved it, there are plenty things for kids to play and all ground finished in soft rubber that you dont need to worry if they fall and get hurt.just sit in the cafe enjoy a nice day out. There is also a play theater on site as well, parents and kids can all enjoy a 20 mints show.it would be great if the cafe food can improve a bit. Overall,a great place to spent a day with kids.

Great atmosphere, good staff and excellent food at a fair price. Really good for families but don't let that put off any couples. Definitely worth a visit for their morning and dinner menus. Gorgeous venue.

Some of our family spent the day at Whoa! Studios in Henderson. The kids absolutely enjoyed themselves on the playground. We enjoyed coffee and ice creams. The environment was relaxing. The staff were helpful, honest and friendly. Thank you for an enjoyable day.

Great West Auckland event venue. The food is superb. I was there for a Mental Health symposium earlier this month. The facilities were top-notch. Highly recommended.

Great staff, cool place; right balance of parent / kid friendly-ness...my only comment would be deserts - wasn't a big fan nor the kids...give me a plain old ice cream / std restaurant deserts any day. But still an awesome place.

A new entertainment venue- very well done. My son enjoyed the show and the playground. He had a lot of fun. I would say that they need more parking in the near future.

Great place to keep the kids entertained. Food is expensive though so take a fat wallet or eat beforehand. Lovely surroundings. Nice place to sit with friends and enjoy a coffee or beer.

This is the perfect place to go to catch up with friends if you have kids. Plenty of highchairs for babies. Two places to change babies and older children can play safely whilst you sit and relax.

The Whoa Studio is an increadible place!!! 6 stars if I could put! The puppet show is amazing, so professionally staged! It is very funny with great audience interaction. The restaurant hospitality and the playground are the best in the country! Unique Web design of the net by the Japanese artist. Just a Whoa 😲 place! Thank you for people who work there for Doing this incredible experience for us.

Great playground, our 18 month old loves it :) breakfast is great. Not a huge choice but everything is made really well. Recommend the crumpet!

A great experience, good food, fabulous customer service. Beiing wheelchair bound seemed to bring out the best in all the staff we encountered. We got free coffees when staff found out we had been refused a family phone booking (by mistake) - well done Whoa! We will be back again.

This is fantastic! Great puppet show. Outdoor rope playground and inflatable obstacle course. Take sunscreen! And take your togs, as there is a hydroslide! They have changing rooms - and a nice cafe! You could easily stay here all day!!

Lots of fun for the kids. Show was really awesome, as was the play equipment. The restaurant was pretty pricy for the venue. On it's own, as a restaurant is fine, but as an eatery in a kids attraction, not really suitable.

Great play ground for younger kids maybe 6-12 year olds. The food that came out was good, but we might have got abit unlucky the day we were there and our booking and subsequent service seemed a little muddled. We didn't check out the show....We will return so maybe next time.

OMG this place is so amazing. A great day with my family and an EXCELLENT restaurant. Reasonable prices and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed the show. One of the best days out we have ever had.

The playground is epic. The restaurant is way way over priced!! $22 for a 'wago' burger was a bit of a joke. Good atmosphere but pack your own lunch for the play ground.

Great place to hang out, both children and adults. Plenty of space for the children to run around. Cafe and restaurant with pleasant staff. Toilets at the activity area is very handy. Limited car park however plenty of off street parking.

Great place to take the kids and one of the few playgrounds where you feel like you kids are not going to break something. Also a good restaurant that was resonably priced with good service.

We enjoyed our visit watching the show Madd hatter with our granddaughter and a fun play and food all afternoon.

Playground is good and well designed. Menu isn't quite family friendly and overpriced. Seems the strategy is clearly food and beverage oriented revenue channel, not an ultimate family fun venue.

Went there today for my birthday breakfast with my daughter and grandson.Very impressed,food was good and the staff very very cheerful and efficient.Food was good too.Wished I was a lot younger so I could have had a go on the net!!

A great place to go for a family day. Well designed playground, reasonable price, very nice restaurant and food, and live show for kids (in school holidays). The ice block and cocoa milkshake are our favourites.

Great day out for the kids, the play grounds are amazing. Have not been to a puppet show yet but most definitely will in the future, nor have I tried the food however the coffee was very good.

Fantastic meal and a truly unique and fun playground for the kids. Highly recommend this place for a casual family lunch.

Fantastic. I hope more people hear about this Family Friendly Venue. If you don't mind a suggestion, not a criticism. It would be to bring one dish at a time out. This allows clients to savour the flavour. Keep up the good work.

Visited there this morning. The playing areas outside was great, there's no other place like it in Auckland; our 2 year old loved it - but the service was slow and the coffee was (sorry to say) the worst I've ever had. Even the fluffy we got wasn't up to par...there was barely any foam!! (I'm no expert, but isn't the basis of a fluffy, the foam itself?)

Gotta love Dr Gloom and Colin.... mwa ha ha! ... well my daughter says that for sure. Loves the shows and the outside park area. The icecreams are small and on the pricey side, but really delicious! Always good for a treat! Great full day out for sure.

We took the kids there to see some of the puppet shows, stayed for a behind the scenes tour and met with the puppeteers (is that how it’s spelt?) the food is insanely expensive but the experience is value and fun for kids.

The restaurant is excellent. The temperature in the theatre is too low. You need to wear something warm. Kids loved the playground and obstacle course.

It's a brilliant place for children, and also most of the foods are great, only little complaint is the King salmon is quite small for the hungry people. lol

There's only one word for this place, Whoa! It surely lives up to it's name. Epic playground, awesome productions, delicious food. Something for everyone. We were truly blown away, and will be back soon!

Live on stage is amazing. Very good for kids between 3 and 5 but suitable for younger and older ones. Cafe a bit over priced. Good playground.

Amazing place to spend the day with the kids. There are a few playground setups, which will keep the entertained for hours. There's a great onsite cafe/bar/restaurant too.

The experience for kids and adults alike is amazing as is the staff but if I had to rate the food it would be 2 stars and 2 stars for food prices the kids meals bland and tasteless we ordered our hot drinks with food and the barista wasnt that busy it came 25mins later after asking twice lucky I asked for extra hot because it came luke warm would have been cold otherwise .they really need to step up on the food and prices its dearer than the zoo

Manic! Lots of people on a sunny Saturday. Long wait times for this, and we have up in the end. But the playground was really enjoyed by my 4yo, so it gets 4 stars for that

Our 7yo says Woah! Studios is "the best place in the world". The climbing net is a work of art as well as a super-fun piece of play equipment.

Being there last weekend with the kids, didn't expect to find anything like it in New Zealand, the fit out is better than a lot other similar facilities in Australia. There are obviously heaps of thoughts put into their food as well.

This we found suitable for younger children. Our 11 & 12 year olds were not impressed. The 7 year olds were ok.
