Spartan Construction worked with Dan and the DC Structures Studio Team when delivering the Laurent Swale project in Cambridge. Dan took the original intention of a conventional 20m spanning galvanized steel footbridge and transformed it into a vibrant footbridge aimed at helping encourage further take-up of walking and cycling in the community. The bridge has wavelike balustrades and a vibrant blue colour scheme and has become a talking point. The unorthodox vibrancy is not everyone’s “cup of tea” and is already causing a stir on social media as they await its opening! We think it is definitely better than a boring galvanized bridge as originally proposed and we look forward to working with Dan and his team again in the future!

We (Constructure Ltd.) engaged Dan and the DC Structures Studio Team to help us design a footbridge for one of our residential clients in Piha (Auckland). DC Structures Studio developed our design for a 15m spanning footbridge that could be delivered to a difficult to access site in small pieces and easily put together by a residential building team. The final bridge is a great example of how simple small footbridges can still be beautiful and the homeowner was thrilled with the outcome!

We used Dan’s team to help us develop buildable steel work designs for our project. Dan came to site and was easy to deal with and he then went away and came back with a steel work solution that was focussed on budget and buildability which was much appreciated. The final outcome was great and we look forward to working with Dan again in the future.
