I made an appointment, showed up 2 minutes early and was out the door with my blood test done 7 minutes after my booking time. I was blown away by their efficiency! The staff were all lovely too.

As other reviews have noted, actually finding the lab is difficult. No signage on the street, then when you turn down the lane, no signage there either. Even the sign outside the door is hard to spot. Maybe a banner would be useful? However once you've arrived things improve. There is a large waiting room and plenty of seating. No receptionist, just take a card and scan it so you're in the system. Both times I've been there have been plenty of staff who seem to move through the waiting list efficiently. If you turn up with a doctor's request form then processing it seems very easy. We came across a snag that took at least 10 minutes to fix when a blood test request has been emailed a few weeks ago to the system but got lost. As there aren't any admin staff around the slightly harassed nurse (who is there to take blood, not find her way around a computer) struggled to find what she needed. Apart from this difficulty, staff seem fantastic. Friendly and competent people who do their job well.

Amazing team working under very difficult circumstances at the moment due to Covid. The way they dealt with a difficult "client" today was extremely professional. It is certainly not OK to abuse staff. Thank you for apologizing for the wait even though it's not your fault. You are all doing a great job and it is appreciated.

I had blood taken today from me at SCL Northfield. In the past finding the vein has frequently been quite difficult for technicians. Not today. The best experience I have ever had. Technician Deb Hill ,so gentle and made it look so easy. Didn't feel anything. Not even slightly. Thanks for you professionalism.

This place in some ways resembles the bleak future a lot of people worry about or hail as the way of the future. It was almost impossible to locate and even harder to find a spot to park. Once you enter, the layout is such that everyone is facing you and the scene is pretty bleak. As noone is at the reception and the silent people waiting don't help either it's a highly awkward reception. Once you realize you have to pick a card and scan to register your arrival it is okay. A lady with almost no people skills nor awareness then comes along and single handedly gives the place a further push in the wrong direction by her not so subtle eye-rolling and bad mood at her fellow colleagues. Your number gets called and you get sent away with a nurse most of whom look uninterested in the patient-just another number. I had to approach the grumpy woman and tell her that I had a doctors note etc and I was lucky to get a nervous looking Indian nurse who offered to lead me to one of the uninviting private stalls. She did a good job but with the barest of interest in me or asking me anything at all. And then I left. If I were a person who didn't prefer human interaction, I would've loved this place: enter the premises, pick a card, sit and wait, when your number is called follow the woman into the booth, and walk out.

Wasn’t even sitting in the waiting room 10seconds on a Saturday! Wonderful customer service and fantastic staff. Normally I am very difficult to get blood out of, but the wonderful lady got it first time!! Wonderful.
