Reviews of Eastenders Track
M.A great walk to get your heart rate up, left gate goes to summit road and right gate goes to the cave. Which we isn't the hard way half way up (the left side).
S.Nice walk to a cave spot with a view. Some of the track gets a bit rough and the wooden staircase has fallen apart in places.
S.Beautiful view from the cave. Track to the cave has been closed but you can still get there. Just some part is rough and unmaintained.
M.Walking track has deteriorated. But still a great walk with a great view. I would suggest using the left hand track, when looking at the cave from the park, to the cave and back. The right hand track is a bit rough especially for kids.
N.Medium tense. Child friendly track. Its exposed, no tree shades, so make sure you apply sunblock and wear hat.
b.A fun afternoon adventure with the kids, track is in a bit of disrepair but the reward is a waterfall and cave.
A.This is a relatively short and easy hiking track and is convenient for those who do not want to drive out of the city but there were some problems with the track.
1- there are just a few signs in the track so we (like most of the otber people) went out the track by mistake and we happen to reach summit road car park instead of the cave in the first attempt 😁.
2- in some places the track is eroded and is dangerous considering the fact that there are many thorny plants along the track, too
3- the were some steps missing on the way up to the cave and it makes it hard and dangerous specially for children
4- the cave is a little bit dirty and unfortunately some irresponsible people has written stuff on the walls and benches 😑
However, the view was so beautiful

M.Track not well sign posted, and stairs before the cave need urgent attention, but aside from that it's another beautiful Christchurch walking track. Wonderful views as well
S.Trailhead is at Barnett park. Beautiful hike, a little hairy in spots. The one side of the trail is closed, but because we did the loop from the other side we did not know until we had actually finished the loop.
Cool cave at the top, a little waterfall just behind it, recommend this trail.
S.It almost looks like someone has fixed this track up a bit which is great. I think the track closed sign is gone so possibly that is why. Always such a fun walk.
z.Well established trail winding up the port hills. Sort of gets a little lost at the top though, then you make your way into a gravel road to get to the top of the hills. Other wise good though. Would be nice if it could loop around and top of the hill and back down the other side of the valley to make a loop trail. There is a loop trail in the valley that doesn't go up the hill too much. How ever this isn't well maintained and overgrown which is a pitty
M.Great workout walking up and down this track. Great scenery and views.
