We booked a site comprising of a wood fired hot tub, a shelter with a changing room and a sauna, that we had to turn on. We had a view of a lake with ducks and mountain ranges. We were allocated 90 minutes. The tub's temperature can be customized by turning on a cold water tap. Increasing the temperature only requires opening a vent for a short time. Word of warning... There is a chimney that can get very hot. Avoid touching. It is worthwhile after a days cycling on the A2O trail.

Very relaxing spot to unwind with an outlook over a duck pond. Nice and private wood fire hot tubs with private changing room and shared shower/bathroom area. There is a bar at reception if you fancy a beer or wine and cold drinking water was provided for us to take to the tubs. Reasonable price for a private 90min session.

Out of the way, but worth the trip for the private hot tubs looking out across the snow-capped mountains, plus you can get your own sauna, and take a drink from the bar out to the tubs. Great place to just soak in the view. Enjoyed watching the ducks, swans and coots just in front of the tub as well.

Amazing experience! Recommend going to the latest session over summer. It allows you to enjoy the sunset and also the stars. We were able to take our own snacks and drinks but I think this may have changed? Super romantic and special night to do with your loved one. Will be returning!

Our winter soak in Omarama, relaxing, amazing time, so quiet, private and peaceful.. it was 1° and I truly enjoyed it, recommended to soak in winter. The view is great.. But the towels (and yeah it was brown towels) to rent at $5 is a rip off - so bring your own towels.

I rate this place! So relaxing, private and beautiful. Compared to other places around the area I thought this was reasonably priced. I also think 1.5hrs is perfect timing to really unwind into it and didn’t feel too short. The scenery is breathtaking. Each tub is super private, very well configured so that you can’t see anyone else. Really loved the quietness of it all, others in neighbouring pools really respected that (could hear chatter but not what they were saying) I do wonder if there were kids next door then that might ruin the serenity… Overall a great way to kick off our anniversary weekend! We will be making this a regular stop on our trips down south, next time for star gazing 😀

Super chill spot. Jill can make a hell of a flat white, honestly one of the best I've had in NZ. The massive platter was also well constructed and delicious. The 90 mins soak was amazing and totally what the doctor ordered. Was exactly what I wanted after a nice hike and Mt Cooke camp experience.

This is fantastic. We went on a sunny afternoon. Great to have a beer in the hot tub in total privacy. It would be even more amazing on a cold wintery clear evening under the stars. Totally recommend it.

Private tub, in the countryside, watching the sunset. I cant say more really. 90 minutes is a tad short, especially if you have to put wood on the fire to heat the pool. It was ok to begin with but fantastic at leaving time Will be back for sure. No Mackenzie Basin holiday would be complete without this

Fabulous relaxing hot tubs in the beautiful setting of Omarama. Fab team looked after us and we enjoyed the stunning views of McKenzie country from the hot tub. And a cold beer too! The ladies loved it!

Such an awesome place! Nothing quite like it. Even in the extreme wet we didn't want to get out!

Great cedar tubs with crystal clear water and a serene environment. Highly recommended. Been here 3 times and it never dissapoints. Your very own changing room is a nice touch.

Relaxing, private steel tubs tucked away in the South Island's alpine wilderness. Water sourced straight from the mountains fills each tub, heated to the perfect temperature by wood fire. You'll enjoy the rustic scent of wood char as you melt into the natural warmth and take in panoramas of the snow-covered mountain landscape. Private changing areas beside each tub are a nice touch. I loved the generous 90-minute time slot — it's really the perfect length of time to relax and unwind, and even catch a few photos. A memorable experience. I'll be back.

Worth every dime! It was so wonderful and like a sensory overload of beauty. I would do it every weekend if I could. I recommend going at sunset! It was clean, and had a perfect balance of privacy and easily accessible staff. BYOB. Bring a bottle of wine and enjoy!

This was our second visit and it was even nicer than the first as our hot tub was right by the pond. Also, the strategically placed vegetation has grown quite a bit so it feels even more private. There is a fully equipped bar now, so you can buy a drink and take it out to your tub (along with the chilled water provided for you). Each booking is an hour and a half and the water is changed inbetween. So relaxing and definitely one of our top things to do on a long weekend in the Mackenzie country.

So relaxing. A unique experience. Everyone should visit these pools. Perfect after a full days cycling!

Just awesome. Absolutely 5 stars. The hot tubs were nice and afterwards they made an amazing platter of grazing food. Possibly the best platter I've ever had. They even accommodated mum's request by making a separate smaller platter for the fussy vegetarian in our group. I know that we'll be back and would highly recommend checking out their hot tubs and a platter afterwards.

Lovely experience and hot tub was perfect temperature. Unfortunately we were in hot tub 5 which I would describe as having a more restricted view ( not open like the photos I had seen) so was disappointed after having higher expectations.

Tubs great but pricey. Shower facilities in our unit were not working yet we were not told this when entering and paying...... Took it up with reception on our way out and got an "oh well...." Shrug

Quite strange that towels are not provided just for hot tubs and need to pay extras for towels. Not sure whether the massage service comes with towel because only used the hot tub. Lovely Spa, kind of private space, but you can hire swimming tog if you don't have one. We were not planning to go there first but saw the sign and hop in. The hot water wasn't as hot as we wanted at beginning, but you can adjust by putting more firewood to make it hotter. Nice view and very clean and neat. Very relaxing place.

The place was private for your group. But the walk the way to our tub was a bit of a struggle on a gravel/pebbles without jandals on. The view on our tub was not as premium as on the photos. The water temperature was perfect and the place is very relaxing. I hope they will offer massage therapy soon as well..

Absolutely amazing. Very friendly staff, well organised with everything ready to go. We were running late so called to change our time and they were very accommodating. The place was absolutely beautiful, super clean and the even the communal showers were super nice. We came on an extremely hot sunny day, they gave us like a golf umbrella to hold, however it would have been nice to have one of those stand up umbrellas

We had a visit to Omarama Hot Tubs 8 years ago in Winter. Great outdoor hot tubs, beautiful views, Friendly staff members. Water temperature can be adjusted as we wish. We had a wonderful time. We will visit again.

This place is amazing. The experience was one our best. It started with this beautiful calm and loving lady that received our call. We explained we were running late to our booking and she said not to worry, to take our time and drive carefully. When we arrived everything was ready. Beautiful peaceful location and everyone was polite, helpful and welcoming. The water was clean, warm, ready for us to enjoy. The location was surreal, Beautiful, natural and private. Amazing hot tubs. Each tub has it's own private setting in their property with a personal changing room. The temperature is controllable, opening the air intake on the wood fire to heat it up, and a cold water hose to cool it. Staff very friendly, and they designed the hot tubs themselves. I went at after renting a bike from here and biking to the clay cliffs (got into pool at 8pm) and got to see an amazing sunset, and then the milky way came out with shooting stars! They provide water, and a bath robe for you.

Excellent staff and such an amazing and unique setup, we had never experienced hot tub before and it was so well priced for the experienced. We did ours at 7pm In the middle of winter (0c), would do it again if we had time

Love this place in our opinion beats hanmer as it's very private and you can adjust your own private hot tubs temperature to suit you. The views are awesome, snow capped peaks in winter to gaze at while you soak.

My favourite hot tubs!!!! Never let's me down, after the loooong old trip from London, this is the perfect jetlag cure. Watch the sun go down over the lake and gape at the Milky Way, wonderful.

I’ve made several visits to hot pools while in New Zealand, enough times that I feel I can confidently say that the Hot Tubs Omarama is, without question, an absolute MUST visit. I booked the tub and sauna package, which included water to drink and towels for both bath and sauna. The level of comfort, cleanliness and privacy offered is simply unmatched. The tub and sauna were a short walk from the main building, with private access to either tub or sauna and private changing room, all of which was outdoors under the night sky. One of my biggest concerns was spiders in the sauna, after all we were outdoors and some places I’ve been often neglect corners where spiders will build their web. I’m extremely pleased to say this concern was unfounded. Everything was in pristine condition, not a web to be found. I have never felt more relaxed. Hot Tub Omarama was the perfect stop to make.

Enjoy the soak in the hot tub, really nice scenery, tranquil surrounding, ducks quaking, birds singing, with the mountains as the backdrop. Will definitely come back, next time it will be winter time.

Ok but expensive. Showers in the individual changing rooms had been disconnected - not impressed. Friendly staff. Nice watching the gliders coming in to land at the nearby airport.

A must go. Very relaxing. We went there as a couple and enjoyed the tub under the stars. Late night is the best time. We plan to there again in the middle of the winters.

The Hot Tubs in Omarama is a beautiful place! It was extremely relaxing, and I felt amazing! I had the best sleep ever! The water was at a perfect temperature to suit everyone's needs.
