Had my 21st at this venue, such an cool location, very lucky to be able to host all my family and friends here. Had an epic night! So grateful for Alex the event manager so easy to get along with, he is so very organised and is all for making sure you have the best time, so big shout out to him!

Daniel & I had our wedding (ceremony & reception) at Milton St Substation and LOVED every aspect of the venue - including the amazing venue manager, Alex, who constantly went above & beyond to make sure our day was perfect. We picked Milton Street for its convenience to town, and the unique industrial vibe, and we’re so stoked with our decision. From the cool interior spaces to the spacious courtyard, and sunny balcony - its perfect for any event! I would 100% recommend Milton Street to anyone wanting to host an event - Alex is your man!

CYP (Canterbury Young Professionals) had its annual ball at the Milton Substation. We cannot thank the venue and the venue manager Alex enough for the impeccable service making it a fantastic night. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone and everyone and we cannot wait to come back to host another event. All the best and see you again soon, Canterbury Young Professionals.

This venue was amazing, open warehouse but a great ambiance and atmosphere. Pretty cool for Christchurch. The lounge bar, Brick Lane London kind of feel. The acts were pretty good too. Amazing woodfried pizza topped with a nice glass of red wine. Plus the guy running the place was friendly and an amazing host

My Wife and I recently had the pleasure of getting married here and wow, it was perfect! Firstly, the three differently defined areas/layout was perfect for our wedding. The upstairs area is a great size for a ceremony with amazing views. And the downstairs part is ideal for a reception with a beautiful and large entranceway and soundproofing. There's also a deck off the upstairs part with beautiful views and a downstairs outdoor patio, perfect for socialising and having food trucks! The venue is also affordable with a BYO option and also comes with Alex! the super helpful/approachable/friendly venue manager who looked after us so well and helped us with ensuring things ran smoothly - we cannot thank him enough :)

Fantastic venue. The communication leading up to our event was friendly, informative and fun. Alex made sure everything was under control at all times and offered fabulous advice along the way. So many options and great spaces to use. Highly recommend this venue. I will be ensuring everyone I know looks at this venue when planning a function or event.

This is such a cool and diverse venue for any occasion. There are so many different ways you can use the space. The birthday party we had there was certainly one to remember. Alex is a pleasure to deal with and makes everything incredibly easy. I highly recommend this as a venue for any special occasion.

Milton St Substations venue is impeccable. The layout is suitable for a wide range of events. I was contacted to provide staff in the bar for an event that provided live music and specialised dancers. When I arrived I was greeted with a warm inviting atmosphere and a passionate manager and owner. The event ran smoothly and all of the guests thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend this venue. The word we would use to sum up Milton Street would be EPIC! It truly is the most incredible space. We couldn’t believe our luck when we stumbled upon Milton Street and then to find out it was going to be available the day we wanted to get married! Everything about Milton Street is just so funky and the space is truly one of a kind. Alex the venue manager goes above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect, nothing is an issue and communication is so fast and thorough. We had the most incredible wedding day at Milton St and wish we could do it all over again. Alex made sure the space was just perfect on the day and all the vendors and guests had everything they needed, and even wore the coolest suit we’ve ever seen!! We highly recommend Milton St to anyone looking for the coolest venue around town!

Stylish venue for a memorable event. We held a corporate function at the Substation and the manager Alex went out of his way to ensure a successful night. The indoor space is incredibly versatile and on a sunny evening/warm night, the balcony and outdoor space come into their own. Loved all the characterful features that are a reminder of the building's industrial heritage. Highly recommended.

Milton street was such a vibe to have our wedding at. We are a extremely unorganised couple and Alex made our life so easy (he’s like a organised dreamboat). 100% would recommend if your after a cool venue with great management.

What a fantastic venue, with a great venue manger, Stress free and more than enough room for our 100 guests would easily fit another 100 , next morning clean up was done just collected our belongings which was brilliant as was not in the frame of mind to do cleaning. Thanks Alex it was amazing.

We had our wedding at Milton in October and it was amazing! Such a neat space to make your own. Alex the manager was awesome too, nothing was an issue and communication was great

Really awesome venue. Was there to watch Lee Martin play a gig with Ben Lill and they were amazing! Diablos Caravan were pretty cool too.

Milton St really is the best venue in Christchurch. The most incredible building that is absolutely perfect for any event with its different spaces. We recently hosted 190 people and the night was seamless. I can't thank Alex, the Venue Manager, enough - he went above and beyond to make the night a success. I would definitely recommend Milton St for your next event.

Clark and Romy have done themselves proud in restoring such an iconic building. Venue’s in the city are a rare find, and Milton Substation is truly a unique venue with a great backstory! A great space to work in, with several social spaces both inside and out (our favourite is certainly the large courtyard with festoon lighting and the spacious deck upstairs)! We recently had our wedding at the Substation and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a venue to anyone. The building itself is a knock-out and so beautifully restored, thanks to the passion of the owners Clark and Romy. The Venue Manager Alex is just an incredible human, super responsive and I just can't say enough about his care, attentiveness and service from the early planning stages right through to the night itself.

Such an awesome venue and Alex is the most helpful guy ever! Thanks for all your help on our wedding day!

Love this space! We have done numerous set ups here with Fleur Couture Flower Walls and it is always clean and tidy and the manager is amazing to deal with ♡

Very cool industrial themed venue, beautiful upstairs and outdoor area that soaks up the sun and nights sky.

What an incredible use of this building and the event we attended was made even better by the stunning fit-out and even an outdoor Courtyard Garden area was enjoyed by many!
