Sofia is absolutely amazing! I love her work and she always manages to fit me in for an appointment around what suits for me. Have been going to her for 2 years and I will be continuing to do so! The eye brow tint lasts a long time and love the shape she makes my eyebrows.

I've been going to My Hair & Beauty since 2016. I've had all sorts of hair treatments from perm, foil, pixie cut to bridal hairstyling and never left the salon disappointed. I often get positive comments on my hair from strangers on the street. And I think that speaks for itself. Aya is my usual hairdresser and I trust her and the rest of the team to make my hair look the best every time. I often just sit in front of the mirror and let Aya do her magic. Mia is a superb hair stylist, she did the hairdo for me and my bridesmaids on my special day last month. I received as many great comments on my hair as I did for my dress. Although I live in Timaru now, I still go and see Aya to get my hair done without fail. As much as I hate to see them get too busy to get any appointments, I recommend this amazing place to anyone who wants to have the best hair experience.

Really great permanent straightening service by Wendy. The whole salon was extremely busy but she really made me feel special and welcome. First time going there and I will be back for colouring and more straightening services - also LOVE that they have free WIFI 😍💓😍💓 Wendy also was very empathetic and kind, and although it was a 4.5 hour session she never once seemed tired or stressed that it was taking long. She is so professional and industry knowledgeable 💋 the whole team seemed very lovely especially the Japanese lady who helped to flat iron my hair. I have been going to this Salon for three plus years. Never disappointed. Today I had my hair cut and it was Rachel sorry If your name is wrong. But girl you did amazing job. Thank you so so much. I know how hard it is when you imagine a hair look in your mind with different cuts from different pictures. But you did it. You gave me the exact look as I imagined. You are super good at your job. I really love coming here. The staffs are all so welcoming and friendly. Mia is my usual hairstylist and she knows how to style my hair (just the way I love it). Even though I have moved outside of Christchurch, I still come here regularly for my hairstyling and eye brow threading. Wendy is always able to get me a spot for my appointments even when I book in late. Wendy and her staffs have kept this place so neat and tidy and u feel like you're home. I love these girls!! I have been going to My Hair & Beauty every 4 weeks for 2 1/2 years. They take such good care of their customers & make you feel special. I have had trouble with my scalp & Wendy (owner) has gone above & beyond to find me a shampoo & conditioner that I can use that doesn't irritate & soothes my scalp. Mia is my hair stylist & she is always so lovely. I have changed my hair styles quite a few times & Mia always talks through this before & as she is cutting & makes me feel at ease. I always walk out feeling fabulous & very pampered. All of the staff are very friendly. Sofia is a very good threader & waxier & gentle. She gives a nice strong message as well. I cant praise these girls up enough. They are reasonably priced & nothing is ever a problem. They go beyond to look after me & I appreciate everything they do. Thank you girls. I have just been and had my full head of foils and toner and eyebrow trio. I have been going to this place from the day they opened and I actually followed the most awesome wendy from her last place, I love it. Wendy goes above and beyond and never lies about what she thinks is good for my hair and she's always been right as she knows her stuff! Wendy and her staff are always kind and accommodating and priced very fairly in my opinion. I have also been taking my daughter to wendy since my daughter was 3 and has recently had her formal hair and makeup done by Mia and my daughter looked amazing! 10 out of 10 everytime

For a long time now I have been trying to find a hair salon that I can go to and not only feel heard but leave feeling like I am happy with my haircut. With my Hair and Beauty I have found just that! What a wonderful little salon. Everyone in there is so kind, warm, welcoming and professional. The place is always so homely, clean and tidy and they treat you so well! Got a hair cut at My Hair & Beauty yesterday and I loved it! They were nice enough to accommodate me last minute (I called in the afternoon for an evening appointment). There was a bit of a wait-time despite booking in advance but they made up for it with friendly service, amazing hair dressing skills and also a good discount. My hair is super long, thick and was a bit unmanageable but Mia, my hairdresser, handled it well, was very gentle and spent ample amount of time to cut it to perfection without rushing it despite the fact that the shop was approaching closing time, which was very appreciable. Great value for money as they're reasonably priced and have excellent hair dressing skills, will definitely recommend to everyone!

I've had a hair cut and threading at My Hair & Beauty and I would thoroughly recommend both. Aya cut my hair to exactly what I was looking for and gave perfect recommendations on what would look best on me. I've lost count of how many compliments I've had on my hair since her cut. Sofia did my threading and was so meticulous. She also takes pride in making sure your threading is as painless as possible (which it was virtually painless) and helps with tips for aftercare as well. Both Aya and Sofia were so friendly and welcoming, and I would 10000% recommend both of them!

*Positive outcome below* Professionalism and care of the owner: 5 stars + Personal experience with the cut with one stylist : 1 star - seems isolated as this stylist is highly recommended across platforms. After seeing so many good reviews on many platforms, I came out really dissatisfied with the cut - which is already shapeless, bulk in odd places and frizzy after 2 days, not at all suited to my hair type (which may have been tricky to evaluate as it was quite a mess when I came in straight after work). I did mention that I need something low maintenance because I do not use any products or own a straightener/dryer, that I wanted to keep long layers with some movement, and that I'm not a fan of thinning scissors....and ended up with way too short layers so now it's super bulky at an awkward length, someone got quite trigger happy on the thinning scissors, etc. It is now a total mess if I let it hair dry. I've since had to purchase hair straightener and soon a hair dryer, to deal with it and make it bearable. Honorable amends part: today the owner Wendy (not the stylist) reached out to enquire about the ordeal and meet in person, to evaluate the cut, etc. We did agree there may have been miscommunication (I tend to not give feedback/direction during the cut because I'm not the expert) and that the result is rather unfortunate. She gracefully offered her apologies as well as products and tips to manage it. You can tell she knows her stuff and cares deeply about the satisfaction and well-being of clients. I declined her offer of having it fixed at the moment as I am still quite wary and do not want to go shorter - I instead opted for now to grow it out until it is ready for summer cut time. Will definitely show up equipped with pictures instead of words the next time I see a hair dresser. Thank you Wendy for looking after me.

Me and the lads have been going to see Mia for a couple years now. She is excellent at men's haircuts, from long hair to short hair, from thick hair to thin hair. She really is a master at what she does. Highly recommended. The premises is clean and welcoming.

Wendy was simply amazing! Nothing bad about this place... I had a great experience, had a haircut and coloured. All this, while I sipped away on my coffee. The outcome was exactly what I had envisioned and I have made my next booking with them already! I have been a regular client of My Hair and Beauty since it first opened, visiting once a month for colour, styling and beauty services. In all those years I have never once had a negative experience. I arrive feeling like the frumpy 60-something-year-old that I am, am treated like a queen, and leave looking and feeling like a princess. Technically, the service cannot be faulted. Advice is always professional, up to the minute with products and trends, and personalised. The staff are without exception friendly, welcoming and happy to be there, doing a job they clearly love. Magazines are abundant and new issues always on hand to enjoy, along with free wifi and complimentary tea, coffee and orange juice. The decor and cleanliness are immaculate. I have been to plenty of salons in my time, but none comes close to My Hair and Beauty, and I would never go anywhere else. You will find them tucked away in an unpretentious shopping mall at Church Corner, with plenty of parking. Give them a try. I did, many years ago now, and I’ve never looked back. Polite service and friendly staff. However, my appointment started at 4.15pm when it was meant to be for 4pm. And my blow wave turned out to be a pretty average series of light curls that didn’t really give my hair the volume I requested. Overall, not bad, but could be improved significantly compared to other hair salons in the market.

Wendy did an amazing job on my hair. I came in with 3 different colours, majority of which was a bad box dye. She took my hair from a dark blondish brownish orangeish to a beautiful light blonde in just one session! I was expecting at least a few trips to reach this colour so can't wait to see the final result my next visit. Also because of Olaplex and Wendy's awesome work I can see no damage. And on top of all of this the price was so reasonable! Oh and I also got my eyebrows threaded and tinted - before this I was considering micro blading but because of the awesome team at my hair and beauty I won't have to.
