We dropped in on a whim, feeling the need for coffee.We were greeted by the barista, and the lady at the counter in such a friendly way . I ordered my coffee, ..and then I spotted the pies! Did you know that in tiny little old Maruia, they bake their own pies? I had a Big Breakfast pie. Bacon , eggs, beansonion, gravy, in a crispy puff pastry.. it was so delicious and hot. The coffee was excellent. But the other feature was the atmosphere. It was very country style with indoor and outdoor dining, even hitching posts and water bowls for your dog. The main dining room, full of Kiwi memorabilia dating back to a century ago. We thoroughly enjoyed looking through it, from Murray Ball' s Footrot Flats to cookbooks, bottle capping machines, even an old goesunder. Good clean restrooms. Lovely clean premises, and off road parking. I would stop there any time. Recommended for all.
