k.was really impressed by this campsite .very clean and well cared for and very reasonably priced. Great fishing spot and a friendly community.

friendly custodian who lives in van with fence around it at bottom end of camp.
lots of space, lovely walks, dogs allowed on leads. Everything clean and tidy. Internet patchy but buying wifi on $5 for 24 hrs.
Would happily go back.
Council owned and would love to see some pruning done in surrounding area. Some lovely big lights on drive in hidden by trees. My photo attch is an example of a fabulous seat with a view of Lagoon (birds) but you would have to be 10ft tall to see water..lol.

The facilities were most adequate,clean and modern.
Toilets, showers, kitchen and laundry. And very familiar orientated. The boat ramp and jet boat club was good entertainment for our weekend stay. Everybody in camp were so friendly.

K.We stopped here for a picnic. Lovely grass area to sit on and nice walk along the water. Great toilets too.
R.Excellent camp ground. They have hot showers for a dollar and clean facilities. Nice flat land. It has a really cool lagoon next to it too, good for a bit of kayaking.
D.Awesome camp we happen to come across...Good clean kitchen with washing machine. Clothesline too. Full dump station and drinking water. Loved it and will be back.

G.My husband and I had a nice drive to the Rakaia Huts. If you feel like it you can walk to the mouth of the river. Camp ground close by if you need to use the toilets which were nice and clean.
R.Loved it so much, met really nice neighbors either side of of our camp site, lots of other nice people there. Everybody had a good stay no trouble maker's and the noise levels were amazingly good. Really good clean facilities, excellent manager, can't fault it at all. 5 stars.
H.Rakaia Huts campground is a lovely quiet little place near the sea. Not quiet an hours drive from Christchurch.
P.It's open! Really clean and affordable campground. Kitchen keeps even a freezer, hot water and washer machine for $2. Bring $1 coins if you want to take a hot water shower of 5 minutes, probably that is the only problem, if you don't bring coins, impossible to take a shower at all.

E.Great place to stay in a campervan - $5/night per adult, access to showers (coin operated), full kitchen, boiled water tap for tea, fresh water, dump station, the works! There is a really nice community vibe there and the caretaker is very kind and helpful :)
N.Very Tidy and very clean facilities. Decent sized camp sites too. Perfect for young kids with a playground on site. Friendly regular fellow campers. Very limited cell phone reception. No data reception

E.Great place for the whole family lovely clean facilities too. My kids had a blast running round playing on the play ground, fishing and swimming. Caretaker is very welcoming and helpful.

m.A tidy fishermans camp ground though more international guests than fishermen these days.Hot showers for $2 wash machine too.Some jobs on farms in near by area .A long beach walk to the river mouth.No swimming but really wild surfing at the mouth of the Rakaia for experienced surfers.Errol and Mari your amicable camp hosts.Keep this place tidy no littering and no freedom cr*pping nearby.

J.Rakaia Huts camping ground is just a camping ground. There are shared public facilities eg toilets showers laundry. I have been there but have never stayed there.
J.Great camp, managers are very nice people, showers ,toilets and kitchen very clean. Rates are very resonable.
