Haven't been in a while. Definitely like the more deluxe cinema with the recliners than the standard ones with the red seating we went to today. Pity the Council hasn't fixed the WWP as halfway through the movie we got the awful stench of burnt, rotting fecal matter. No issue of readings at all. Good service and clean cinema.

The staff here are always really friendly. Popcorn has been a bit hit and miss the last few times sometimes very burnt tasting but I go for the films not the food. Good work team

Great complex. Eight big screen cinemas, number one has recliner seats. All the usual sweet treats. Easy access with plenty of parking, and all wheelchair accessible.

Very poor. Just used one of their gift cards to purchase tickets. Failed, took the money and no tickets came. No phone number, just a contact form. Money was credited back to the voucher so all good, but missed gong to the movie so disruptive. System not the best

Love the big cinema with the soft chairs :) its always clean and tidy and staff are always friendly totally recommend. Since Covid started the Reading in Palms has taken all the required steps to keep running. The staff have been kin patient and courtsey so glad they have kept running 🙂

My go to cinema in Christchurch, with great ticket prices and theaters with recliner chairs making the experience 10x better. Just a shame that since Covid-19, most of the high-production movies are going straight onto streaming services, making cinemas like Readings obsolete, which is really sad. When a big movie does come out, I definitely recommend coming here than any of the Hoyts in Christchurch, they are too overpriced for what they're worth.

The seats were very comfy, I felt like I was in a five star hotel room, the ac was on point! And the staff, well the staff, man the staff were extremely, extremely kind and very very nice. I remember going there when I was little and all I remembered there was cinemas everywhere, but I only went into the first two cinemas. I loved watching the invisible man tho, although I did not see much, it was extremely amazing, no one really tells about their bathrooms but it is honestly amazing

Really good experience for children and adults. The reclining chairs with tables are great and super comfortable; especially good as they give the children somewhere to put their snacks so they don't get spilled in the dark! I hadn't been to the cinema for a while and forgot to take a jacket so was slightly chilly. Think they must keep it cool to stop people falling asleep.

The food was great; it wasn't stale like the other cinemas I have been to. The staff is polite and friendly. My overall experience was great, the seating arrangements were good, the recliner seats do work with the cinema screen, the cinema screen was also a decent size. I would definently come here again.

I like this place and frequent it because they were the first theatre to install the big comfy seats, some years ago now. This made everyone else do the same to catch up. Their prices are usually better than elsewhere. Parking is good outside of the mall's shopping hours and the walk is covered for those rainy days. Movie quality is always good to excellent though the sound can be very loud, but maybe you like that.

Titan Luxe cinema has electric reclining seats, each with a rotating snack table. Heaps of leg room. Great sound. Tickets half the price of similar facilities at Hoyts Colombo. They have ditched Coke advertising in their snack bar, smart move.

A good cinema for movies of all types. Good seating, good visuals and very good audio. The movie watching experience is excellent. The only thing I find truly unnecessary is the over priced shop. It is truly not a joke and clearly there to separate the money from the movie watcher. Nonetheless they do provide great movies on the big screen.

Good sound if a little loud at times if you bring kids I would recommend ear protection in case. Staff always seem very friendly even though mostly young. Best priced tickets in chch & they let you choose your own seats. Often have special premier events for new movies. Facebook page runs lots of competitions. Seats very comfortable & temperature always comfortable too.

Plenty of leg room, comfy seats and friendly staff. Snack bar is great if you like Kapiti ice cream and popcorn but a little limited if not. Typical expensive movie snack prices. Ticket prices are definitely one of the better deals in the city and make the whole experience worth what you're paying. Not as flash as EntX in town but also much more reasonable prices. All in all a great cinema to go to.

The seats are comfy, it was clean, nice size screen etc but the customer service was really lacking. The candy bar service had a girl who never smiled at us once, and even yawned while serving us, there is a definite need for customer service training!

This is often the first port of call for us as a cinema. For a long time, this was the ost reasonably priced theatre in the city at $10. The price is now $11 which is still exteremely reasonable. I like the self-service kiosks allowing for the autonomous purchase of tickets without the added online cost of booking tickets.

Not entirely the place to go at peak hour. Off peak though is excellent. Regards parking and general elbow room, they are in short supply. Friendly staff, with comfortable seats during busy hours. Don't buy much but the odd ice cream at the shop. Though there are better options in the mall in that regard. Online purchase options I find are functional, though a little clumsy on a mobile.

Honestly you can't go wrong The Reading Cinemas. They are super inexpensive and they often have the same films Hoyts would be screening except cheaper. The seats are comfy, the food prices are expected they're just your typical overpriced movie theatre food but the staff here are so chill and kind, they really don't mind if you bring different food from other places which is pretty cool. Overall I'm always pleased when I come here.

The movie was great, but I can't really complement Readings for that. All of our drinks were warm and flat, when I told the person who poured it, she quickly tipped it out and poured it again from another machine, which was also flat and warm. Their drinks suck.

Theaters sometimes dirty from previous movie, bathrooms not always kept up with, staff nice enough but seem to be doing their job without any exceptional customer service, and I'm not sure the kids boosters ever get cleaned. On the other hand... theater seats are comfortable, the price of movie is exceptional and they have done their part to make other theaters in the area compete w their prices....a huge salute to them for that!!!!

$11.50 (incl booking fee) movie tickets for a cinema with great technology including 3D movies. Big screen sizes, comfy seats and walk up directly to the usher without prior ticket pick up at the counter for online bookings. This is in my eyes the best deal in town.

Love going here. With how over priced theatres are, Reading isn't too bad in comparison. The tickets are well priced (and have forced the competition to drop there's) and the food is a bit less expensive and still meets your theatre expectations. Try here before you go to the nasty H place. 😉

March 2019 - still the best and value for money cinema. I just watched Captain Marvel and this cinema still have comfortable seats compared to Hoyts Riccarton and Northland. The pricing is now $11 per person for adult and children. There's a surcharge of $1.50 per ticket for credit card payment. It is still worth it. I am looking forward for the Avenger End Game in April 2019 🤗. Would I go back? Yes ☺ Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. The seats are still comfy. Price: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ out of 5. Reasonable pricing. Plenty of parking. 10/03/16: Just finished watching Deadpool! Awesome movie, funny and lots of swear words + some raunchy scenes. Anyway, this cinema 🎦 is slightly smaller than the two Hoyts cinemas. But it is cheaper than them as the adult ticket is only $10. I also bought a drink and popcorn 🍿medium-sized combo for $8.50. Total cost $18.50 and I love every moment. A good way to chill out. It has a good surround sound system Dolby 7.1, which makes watching the movie even more enjoyable 😁. The only downside is the location as most of the people have moved to other places. As for me, I need to drive from the other side of town to catch the movie. Would I go back? Definitely.

Went for a Ladies Night and the queue was crazy to get into the screening, although we arrived before the 6:30pm start time we ended up getting to our seats at 6:38pm and sadly the movie had already started, I'm a little disappointed that for an almost sold out screening there was no trailers and the screening was played from 6:30pm. Seems there should have been an allowance for people finding and sitting in there seats before the movie starts.

I've been going to the palms mall reading cinema for years now and have always had a great experience. Recently there was a mistake with the online website page when paying for tickets. The payment said it failed but I still got charged. I called reading they apologies and said they will get it sorted. It took a week and no refund. I called up again and a lovely lady Jenna answered and told me she will get it sorted today. She did. Jenna called me back that day saying my refund will be in my account soon (it went in straight away) and apologied for the hassles and sent me complimentary passes for the cinema. Mistakes happen and know one can control what happens on their website all the time, but reading cinema were great! Jenna handled the situation amazingly!!! Thanks Reading Cinema!

Reading Cinemas The Palms is well kept and is always on top of popular releases. They have decent pricing for tickets, (as we all know cinemas are complete scams for food prices!) And, if you follow their Facebook page, they will regularly have free prize draws which is very nice. They have also recently implemented self-serving marquees so that you can buy tickets in cinema without speaking to an annoying cashier. That goes without saying that Reading Cinemas also have a very user friendly website where you can do the same but with the added price of a convenience fee. However, if you are looking for a place to watch a movie in a luxury lounge you will be disappointed. This is their only downfall (if you really consider it to be) so here's 4 stars Reading Cinemas The Palms! Good job.

I like the reading cinema but unfortunately I haven't been for a while because the times are to early for my mother who relies on her careers to get her up in the morning. She doesn't go out in the afternoon so I have to buy the movies when they come out on blueray.

Unfortunately my husband had a medical problem during the latter stages of "Red Sparrow" while we were at Readings The Palms on Friday 23rd. We would like to thank the 2 nurses, husbands/partners and also 2 ladies who acted quickly and efficiently in assisting David until First Response and Ambulance arrived (we're sorry you missed out on the last 15mins of the movie). Readings staff and in particular Duty Manager Matthew were so caring, helpful and assured us to take as much time that we needed to stabilize David. He put off the next session until they got David to the ambulance - you deserve a wage increase or a bonus. Last but not least, the medical team - as always our highest of praises for all your care and attention!! David is fine. Many thanks to all you wonderful people. Maxine & David Hale
