P.A nice vantage point to watch the Waimakariri river flows past the Canterbury plain. A stunning place to go for a relaxing walk and view the sunset. The last kilometre of road leading to the car park is just non-asphalt surfaced. You must drive slowly with care to avoid rock chipping onto your windscreen.
D.Nice shared walk/bike track. Hot as only partially sheltered, bring water
N.Great place to take the dog for a swim in summer, lots of room to run around off leash
F.Great place for a picnic, or take your family for a bike ride on the well made track (4.5 km loop) with gentle twist and turn, and up and down. I think it suits a three year old as well as older kids. Or you can take your trail bike for a spin on the outer track along the Waimak.
M.First time there!......Loved it, great site,great river views/access, great walking and biking tracks! Well worth a visit!🚐🚍🚌👍😎
R.Excellent place for a walk and a bike ride. Good Waimak access. Apart from the toilet block no other amenities.
C.Great place to let the dog off leash. Plenty of space and not too swift for swimming over summer.
B.the bike trail is called MC INDOE track, - could be an easy Green trail. A good alternative to Mc Leans forest and Bottle lake. Good draining track meant that its not too muddy even when its wet. Its a bit remote so make sure you bring your own water.
M.The mountain bike tracks are great for beginners. Nice changing forest and good views of the river.
G.Great walking/biking track. Best thing 8s the signage for the track is fantastic, we've been to places with poor signage and have gotten lost. Great for the directionally challenged. Didn't do the full loop as had somewhere to go but will be back. Great place for dogs.
A.Great place for a walk or a swim. There is a cycle track there which is great.
P.Great park right on the riverside with a fantastic new dog park just added. Brilliant for letting the dogs have a run and includes agility gear as well as a doggie drinking fountain and doggie bags and bins. There’s also a loop trail that’s shared between bikes and walkers. Quite good and a few options to follow. The lookout provides stunning river views and, if you’re lucky, views of gorgeous sunsets.

C.Good shared walking and mountain biking track. Very good friendly and it looks like there is a new dog park going in there aswell.
Nice and shaded with a good breeze coming through for those classic hot days in Christchurch.
Can also access the beach easily from multiple points to take you dog/yourself for a refreshing dip in the waimak river.
Absolutely no offroad vehicles in the willows area to which is great for keeping you and your dog safe.
J.Great place by the river and has toliet and picnic tables and freedom camping area and has a great 4km walk through the trees and pine forests

H.A great place to stay in the NZMCA park very quiet and close to cycle and walking track and a dog exercise area.
C.Great walking tracks which are also good for biking, kids or adults. River right there - excellent spot for motorhomes- great views
