Reviews of Waitangi Regional Park
This place was a stunner. What we loved was the rich history now restored. Such a beautiful place. We felt connected and refreshed sitting and taking in the surroundings and how important it is to acknowledge the history of tangata whenua.
awesome place to teach you knowledge to find the way out and back home safely.
need more of these historic sites. so much research could be done to promote the scenery in Hawkes Bay for tourism. these well presented setups are vital attractions for active foreigners who come here fascinated by the history and accessible by the bike tracks is key to connecting all the dots great pun too ! . this place is rich in history, WE NEED TO TELL A GREAT STORY about the ancient indigenous and European interactions, tales, urban legends, stories, personal accounts of famous and infamous figures known and not known to "enrich the pitch"! add more ancient Pa sites, battle grounds, famous events and conversations to the circuit.. and all the tracks need to connected! tourists should be able to cycle from as far as Waipatiki/Tangoio all the way to Waimarama! think BIG! come on HBRC! promote promote PROMOTE! sell it! sell the story
Good walk when nice weather and can be very windy. Went there fishing and it seems to be very popular spot. Please don't swim in the river even it looks quite, but you can be surprise with very strong current.
Excellent, spiritual, environmental power
Lovely tranquil place to reflect or take in history. A haven for wildlife & beautifully planted estuaries.
Beautiful sunrise at Waitangi Park. Such a peaceful place
Very good place 2 visit check out the Maori side of things or head out for some surfcasting or a dip
Still in development. The displays about traditional navigation and the carvings are going to be stunning, but well worth a visit even now.
Lovely to see traditional navigation systems and the wonderfully carved pou that make it up.
Great place of historic and significance.. beautiful views of the Pacific ocean
If nice weather day I like have a coffee walk there.
Culture with a view, great matariki link with historical link to Maori history and natural beauty.
Great place for cycling. Very interesting facts of maori history
Beautiful Beach and spot for a picnic.
always a must visit destination when visiting the bay, but best done with a tour guide to get the full coverage of the history of the area. we celebrated my niece and nephew wedding was beautiful, although it was a hot day it pays to take warm clothing while waiting for the bride. The area is by the coast it is always colder than town...
Here doing a litter clean up lots of fantastic work happening here last time I was here we planted a few thousand natives nice to see them growing
Another historic spot, that has ocean views and if you stand in certain spots echoes
Great for wind surfing in sheltered lagoon
The view is so beautiful overlooking the sea. There is a great gathering of fishermen. Unfortunately there is a lot of waste scattered everywhere. There are not enough rubbish bins to accommodate festive seasons when most popular. Additionally there are no toilet facilities.
Awesome spot for fishing, kayaking, kite boarding or jet skiing. Be aware of the sudden drop off at lower tide levels, very dangerous for kids that are not old enough to swim yet
This is a marvellous place. The star compass is inspirational and the park has been replanted and restored. A must visit place.
Love how the stone inlay glows at night. Lots to do by day with impressive birdlife. Estuary popular with kite surfers. Always people fishing off the beach. The only drawback is getting back onto the busy road. So even better if accessed via the bike track.
For bird watchers, the horseshoe wetlands can be very interesting. To get there take the track under the road and railway bridges.
Great park, glow in the dark stones! Perfect place to watch rocketlab launch, especially at night
Great spot to visit and look out at the Napier shoreline and Cape Kidnappers in the distance. I look forward to visiting again as they are doing a lot of planting so the area will only get more established. The carvings forming a sun dial are interesting especially for a 3 year old who found the concept incredible. The pathway for walkers runners and bikes leads all the way from Clive past the Waitangi Regional Park and all the way to Napier
Both amazing and humbling. We learnt a lot about Maori navigation skills using this compass and also enjoyed taking in the spectacular views
A well maintained park and resource of the Hawke's Bay.
Absolutely stunning place to be at sunrise and sunset. The amazing surrounding back drop of this place makes for a beautiful setting. 👍
Beautiful views, and we loved the carvings, however that's it and it's just a small area next to the beach.
Really cool place to visit, classic Napier shorelines, top kahawai fishing spot also, depending on time of year.....kingfish and good snapper fishing aswell
Great place to get some fresh air, on a good day you may see a flock of royal spoonbills
Beautiful, interesting, and educational
Great location telling story of local area activities including cultural and social history of the river mouth environment , information panels listing wildlife and surrounding environment
Nice spot
Very intriguing and inspirational. Historical information is fulfilling and inspiring. NZ has culture!
Go place for a picknick
Great place to take photos! Nice lookout of the sea! Highly recommended place to take videos or photos!
Though it had notices of what the significants were, I probably would have preferred a guide. Embraced the history.
For knowledge of maori season keeping is very helpful and informative.
Not bad for ceremonies such as weddings.
Beautiful scenery with enough car parking for the whole family.
I made an error and the post of Panis of the reef should have been for this sight of the compass
We stopped here to have a rest and some food and was amazed. The scenery was great and the art and history displays were interesting.
Very relaxing, will look awesome in a few years once the plants and trees take off.
Great place for the community to see ancient navigational techniques and a revitalised wetland
